Ok," Marla relented.

"What?" Lacy asked. She was in the middle of asking/begging Marla for a date again.

"I'll go on one date with you. On the condition on when it's over, you stop all of this. Stop the begging, stop the stalking, just stop it all."

Lacy squealed in delight.

"Thanks, pal, you're not gonna regret this."

"I already do."

Marla waited for Lacy as she watched football.

She heard the doorbell ring and knew it was time for her to suffer.

When she opened the door, she was greeted by the sight of Lacy in a finely furnished suit, black jacket, and pants a light red shirt and an orange tie.

Lacy smiled at Marla. "Hello, Marla. You're look even more beautiful than you're usual self tonight."

Marla had on her usual sport's jersey which had been stained with mustard from an earlier snack and gym shorts.

"So, where are we headed? The Burphin burger?." Marla asked, wanting to get this over with as fast as possible.

Lacy's smile grew. "We'll eat later. Right now, I'm going to take you someplace special."

Marla rolled her eyes

Lacy made a gesture towards a Limo behind her.

"Our ride awaits," Lacy pronounced.

Marla gawked. "Seriously?"

Lacy nodded. The two walked up to the car. Lacy held the door open for Marla.

"How the hell did you afford a limo." Marla gawked as she sat in the vehicle.

Lacy shrugged. " I do paper routes, odd jobs for my sisters' detective agency, a job for Flipp now and again, and my YouTube channel of me doing stunts gives me a nice penny. It's a lot of work" she smirked at Marla. "But I don't believe anything of value should be easy to get."

She winked and for some reason, Marla blushed.

The two arrived at a mini-golf court.

Marla frowned. "The fuck are we doing here, Loud? You suck at golf."

"Yep, can't stand just standing around, you know. And you're great at it. I figured we could go a few rounds."

"Why?" Marla asked.

Lacy's smiled. "So you could have the pleasure of beating me. And I know that sounds nice to you; come on, admit it."

Marla grounded her teeth. "It does."

After a few rounds, Lacy proved no better at golf than she had previously.

And loath as Marla was to admit it, Marla was having fun. But it wasn't that bad. She was having fun because she was beating Lacy.

That was it.

After her course, Lacy took her to the movies, and they watched Crash Nebula's revenge on the space Locusts. It was a movie she'd seen two times already. One for pleasure. One to get analytical about for her podcast. However, she had planned to watch it again. Just not with Lacy.

It was still fun, though. She rationed that didn't make a date was fun. It couldn't be because it was a date with Lacy. It was just that the things they were doing were fun.

Next, they went to a fancy restaurant. Marla was slightly intimidated at the menu selection.

Lacy ordered for her. "The lady will have the Coq au vin to eat and a glass of water with a lime to give it a little kick." Lacy looked to Marla. "You'll love it," she said confidently.

Marla did love it. The two proceeded to talk. Mostly about Marla, her current aspirations, school, frustrations, and joys.

After dinner, which was admittedly fun, the two were accosted by a mugger with a manic glint in his eye.

Lacy took a ball from her jacket and threw it at the guy's head, instantly knocking him out.

"You don't threaten my lady, " Lacy bellowed enraged. She turned to Marla. "Are you alright?"

Marla numbly nodded. For some reason, she didn't correct Lacy when she was called her lady.

It was just shock, she reasoned.

The two called the cops to take the crook away.

Eventually, Lacy took Marla home and walked her to her door. "I hope this night was ok, " Lacy said

It was fabulous. Marla wanted to scream.

"It was alright, " she said instead.

Lacy kissed her cheek lightly. In any other moment, Marla would've pounded Lacy, but for some reason, she wasn't even mad.

"I just wanted my only date with you to end with a kiss." Lacy said wistfully. She turned to leave.

"Hey, Loud, " Marla squeaked. "I'm never gonna be your girlfriend or some shit, but if you were wanna hang out like we did tonight again...I won't say no every time."

Lacy grinned.

"They wouldn't be dates!" Marla rushed out. "I just like the idea of beating you, and getting you to throw away your money."

Lacy's grin only grew. "Sure pal."

When Marla got into the house she saw Marcy. "How was your date?" Marla's younger sister asked.

"It was awesome." Marla sighed.
