Nathan: We hurried back inside through the kitchen to the classroom, where the Stooges had placed an injured Eugene on top of one of the tables, like they did the first time we found him, as Rapunzel and I made our way through the chefs and Minions.
"How's he doing?" I asked.
Moe looked at Eugene, then at Rapunzel's short brown hair, and frowned. "Without the magic hair, I don't think Eugene's gonna make it."
"No." I gasped upon hearing Eugene's weak coughing.
"Look at me, look at me. I'm right here." Rapunzel assured her hurt love. "Don't go. Stay with me, Eugene."
She grabbed his hand, pressed it to her hair and began to chant. "Flower, gleam and glow, let your power shine..."
"Rapunzel." called Chef Adam, but Rapunzel kept on chanting. "Make the clock reverse, bring back what once was mine..."
"Rapunzel, stop!"
At the sound of his voice, Rapunzel turned to Chef Adam, who sadly said. "There's nothing you can do for him now. It's over."
Realizing he was right while staring at Eugene lying still, my eyes started to well up with tears.
The chefs, Minions, Ham, and Pascal watched in sadness and silence as I wept over his body. "Eugene, I...I'm...I'm sorry, buddy. This...this is all my fault. If I'd known we needed Rapunzel's hair to heal you, I...I..."
At that moment, I felt Eugene's hand placed on top of mine.
Barely alive, he said. "You...did what you had to do...to save Rapunzel."
"But...at the cost of your life." I said while tears started to roll down my cheeks.
Eugene smiled faintly. "Well...at least I'll go happy...knowing that my friends are free...cousin."
"Eugene?" gasped Rapunzel, unsure of what to say to him.
With the last bit of strength he had left, Eugene reached up to touch her cheek and weekly said. "You...were my new dream."
Starting to tear up herself, Rapunzel replied. "And you were mine."
Finally, Eugene closed his eyes and his head fell back on the table.
"Eugene?" I called, trying to wake him up. "Eugene? Eugene! Flynn! Flynn."
As the chefs, Ham and Pascal sadly bowed their heads while the Minions started to cry over the loss of our friend, Chef Adam calmly walked up to me, placing his arm on my shoudler.
I wrapped my arms around him while crying. Chef Adam hugged me back while Rapunzel finished singing mournfully.
Heal what has been hurt
Change the fates' design
Save what has been lost
Bring back what once was mine
What once was mine
As she wept, a golden tear fell on Eugene's cheek and dissolved into his skin.
Larry looked up and said. "Look! Eugene's starting to glow!"
"What?" I asked.
Rapunzel gave me a nudge, motioning towards Eugene's lifeless body, which was, in fact, glowing.
"Oooh!" exclaimed the chefs and Minions upon seeing the lights of gold shooting out of Eugene, then faded away after healing his wound.
Rapunzel and I looked at each other, not knowing what to do now until finally...Eugene slowly started to move.
As I helped him down from the table, Eugene turned to me and smiled.
"You were right, Nate." he said, turning his attention towards Rapunzel. "The magic from that flower can bring back the dead."
"Flippin' patties!" exclaimed Ham.
"It's a miracle." said Moe.
"It's a lifesaver." said Larry.
"HE'S ALIVE!" Curly cried out.
The other chefs and the Minions cheered as Rapunzel and I hugged Eugene, who took notice of Rapunzel's hair, smiled at her and jokingly asked. "Did I mention I have a thing for brunettes?"
Rapunzel raised an eyebrow while smiling at Eugene, whom she pulled over for a kiss.
As the chefs and Minions cheered loudly, Bertha turned to Chef Adam, who only shrugged and said. "I'll allow it."
Just then, there was a knock at the door, which everyone turned to.
"Come in." I called out.
The door opened, revealing Frederic and Arianna, who stopped themselves upon seeing Rapunzel.
The chefs and Minions looked from Corona's King and Queen to Rapunzel, who turned to me taking her hand, saying. "I figured it was the right time for a reunion."
I walked Rapunzel over to Arianna, whom I gave a nod to, and stepped back.
The chefs and Minions watched in awe as Arianna looked closely at Rapunzel.
Despite the lack of golden hair, the Queen was able to recognize who this girl was by looking at her emerald green eyes.
"Rapunzel?"
"Mom?"
As real mother and daughter hugged, Rapunzel caught a glimpse of her real father.
"Rapunzel!" he said tearfully, joining in the hug.
While watching along with the others, Chef Adam turned to me and Eugene, who wrapped each other's arms on our shoulders while exchanging smiles to our teacher, who smiled back.
