Bad Guy- Billie Eilish
So... I noticed everyone had been dropping new Chapters to stories that hadn't been updated in year. So i figured, why not jump on the bandwagon and finally post the chapter I had written months ago.
It's been a year and 5 months. Hmm... What new? Well I Finally got my licence last September. I got a new, way better job than i had before. I worked 2 jobs and went to college for 5 months. That was exhausting. My new job was only a seasonal so i was given my final date and sent on my way. The day before my last I received a phone call and I was offered a permanent position. So I managed to last another month with 2 jobs and college then i quit my original job.
In the aftermath of the Covid-19 College classes are now online, hours at my job have picked up I'm now a full time employee. The stimulus check came which gave me enough to easily thrown down for a down payment on a car. Soon, hopefully, i'll be moving into an apartment with a couple friends of mine.
I can't promise that I wont give it another year before an update. I might actually get another chapter out in a few month. I have about half a chapter written.
So thank you all for sticking with me and my extremely erratic updating schedule. I won't give this story up. I still have these ideas in my head, I just cant get them out and into words. So don't give up hope!
"Teach me how to fight." Thea said for the 5th time that day. "As your older sister I should be next to you, helping you while you fight."
Theas sister, Maya who had been doing pull ups in the room next door stopped what she had been doing and slid into the main room, towel slung over her shoulder.
"For the last time Thea. No. I don't want you out there where you could get hurt." She said as she plopped down into her desk chair and looked up at her older sister. "It's bad enough you insist that you know about all of this." She waved her hand around, "Anyone could find out and you would be in trouble. Liv could be in trouble, mom, its no telling who else."
She frowned up at her, "Could you imagine what the media would say about that? Brother and Sisters fighting while wearing costumes. Yeah, I can see the headlines now. 'Queen family off the rails? Spandex siblings at it again.' That might actually have a ring to it." Mayas slight smirk slipped off her face. "There's honestly no telling what can happen."
Thea folded her arms across her chest looking very much like the spoiled child the media still portrays her as. "Fine. But-"
The younger girl gave her a pointed look.
"BUT" Thea enunciated the word "You could still teach me to fight if I end up in a situation that I need to defend myself in. Because I need to learn to protect myself, too right?"
Her sister hummed in thought. She did have a point. What if, god forbid, someone was going after their family, and Thea was the only one available to help. If no one was there then who would save the day?
Against Her better judgement Maya opened her mouth and hoped that her next words wouldn't end in regret.
"Yes. You're right. And I really don't want to, but sure. I'll teach you." Thea nodded her head, mouth widening into a smile. "But I don't want you out fighting. I just got a sister and I don't want to lose her."
Maya glanced over at her computer then back up her sister, eyes clouded in fear of losing her family.
"Promise me Please Thea that you won't go searching for a fight." She chewed on her bottom lip, for the first time in a while looking like the younger of the siblings.
"Of Course. I promise." Thea leaned down and hugger her sister. "Just remember I don't want to lose you either."
Later that night, before the 2 girls went into their separate rooms for the night Maya pulled Thea to the side. "Make sure you're ready. We start tomorrow."
The next couple of days flew by quick. At least to Maya. In Theas eyes the days were long and torturous. It was Day 4 of Hell. The older girls arms were Jell-O like, every time she pushed her self up off the ground they shook as her body sunk closer to thee ground, up and down.
Thea always considered herself a rather fit person, at least until she started training with her younger sister, no matter how hard she tried to keep up with Maya, she simply couldn't. The 15-year-old was literally and figuratively running laps around her. What Maya could run in 10 minutes took Thea nearly 30 and to ever 10 push-ups of her sisters, she did 2. It almost seemed unfair. But, if anything, Thea was determined.
When it came to running, she pushed herself, she didn't stop, at least until she fell into a heavily breathing lump at the end of her 5th lap.
"Okay Maya. I give up. I don't think I can handle much more today." She panted, eyes pleading with the younger girl. "This is too much. Maybe take a breather for today?"
And so for the rest of the day the girls laid around the house enjoying their odd break.
"So, when will I learn how to fight?" Thea asked from across the table at Big Belly Burger. After all, that was the exact thing that she had fought with Maya over for months.
Shoving her last few fries into her mouth Maya mumbled "Dunno," She swallowed "Depends on how long it will take you to be able to not get exhausted when doing a few exercises."
The sisters threw away their trash and walked outside in the blistering cold air, "Maybe give it another week or 2. You'll start gaining muscle and then I know you will be able to handle yourself in a fight. I mean after all I don't want a fight to be too easy. I want at least 30 seconds before I kick your ass."
Thea scoffed "As if. I'm a fast learner. Besides I'm the older sister. I could probably very easily take you down. And I'm taller." She added that last part as an afterthought.
Maya giggled "Not by much." She said ignoring the 6-inch height difference "I'll grow. Meanwhile you've stopped already. Next thing you know I'll be taller than you. And you'll be the shorty."
She abruptly stopped walking and in a spontaneous burst of near childish ness took off running after Thea who, by this point had just noticed her sister had no longer been by her side and had begun turning around.
Maya leaped up onto the curb and in a swift motion threw her hand through the chilly air and tapped her sister on the top of her head.
"SHORTY!" She called behind her and continued running down.
"Hey! Come back here you brat!" She took off after the 15-year-old girl, ignoring the aching protest in her legs.
The two laughed as they played cat and mouse.
It was nice, Thea thought as she ran through the falling snow flurries, to see her younger sister acting exactly how she should be. Her age.
It had bee a week and a half. Thea was more than ready to officially start her training with Maya.
