"How about Bentley, Carson or Lincoln?"

Mercedes' hand paused in the box of Ginger Snap cookies, pursing her lips at the boy who was sitting beside her, squinting her eyes once she heard Sam laughing from the other side, "Are you trying to be funny?"

"No." Ishmael responded with a straight face before cracking a smile and laughing loudly after a minute.

"You know what, get out of my face and go finish packing."

Sam came back into the room, finding Ishmael rolling out the bed before leaving out of their room laughing still. He looked at his girlfriend and chuckled, placing his pants in his suitcase, "You got to admit that it was pretty funny."

"You get out of my face too."

Sam snorted as he went back to the closet, looking at the dress shirts on the racks. They were heading up to Lake George, New York for a week for a family getaway and their baby shower that was being planned by both grandmothers. While they were away, Liam had vowed to stay back and put his attention into making sure their house was in order for when they came back. After months of searching, they had finally found the one. It was a two story brick home with three bedrooms, two upstairs, the master's is down and two and a half baths. It was beautiful with just enough the space for the four of them.

Mercedes moved over and got out of the bed, sliding into her house shoes as she went over to where he was. She watched him closely before crossing her arms, speaking out curiously, "What do you think?"

"About?" Sam glanced over at her, smiling to himself at how she just told him not to be in her sight, yet here she was.

"Names. We literally have no name for the baby nor have we even really discussed it."

"We have time, baby. The right one will come."

"Not that much." She watched as he picked up the purple shirt, prompting her to grab it out of his hand and replace it with the green one, the conversation still flowing, "It's your first child and son, we can name him after you."

"Our...and yeah, no. I always said if I had a son, I want him to have his own identity and it starts with his name." He grabbed the purple shirt again, looking at her confusedly, "This my favorite shirt."

"I know, that's why it's staying." She commented before grabbing it again and placing it back on the rack, "We don't have that much time as you think. I'm due at the end of next month."

Sam placed his hands on either sides of her face, bringing it forward and kissing her. When he felt her relax, he smiled before pulling back, "Just relax, okay?"

"Alright." She whispered along his lips, her eyes resting on his as she leaned into the touch of his right hand, "We'll figure it out."

"Yes we will." Heading the sound of his phone going off, he grabbed it from his pocket and looked at it. Closing his eyes for a brief moment before opening them once more, his hands dropping to his sides, "I'll be right back. I have to go handle something before we leave."

Mercedes watched in confusion as he walked out the room without another word, leaving her to wonder what that was all about. Deciding to ask him about it later, she headed for the bathroom to go get dress for their flight that was in a few hours.

The flight didn't take long and wasn't a bit uncomfortable for the expecting mother. She slept the whole way, which wasn't surprising. These past few weeks have been nothing less of her sleeping and staying off her feet due to the constant state of being uncomfortable. She had worked up until she couldn't anymore, getting an early start to her maternity leave.

"We'll get the bags."

Madelyn watched as Sam helped her daughter out of the truck before retrieving to the back to start unloading. She walked over and wrapped her arm around her, leading her up the steps that took them to the house, "It's been what...almost fifteen years since we've all been here at the same time."

"Doesn't even feel like that long." Mercedes chuckled at the memories that flowed through her mind as they walked into the home, her feet automatically taking her to the back, unlocking and sliding the door open. She looked out at the water, taking in the breathtaking view. She let out a breath as she leaned against her mother, "I wish he could physically be here with us. I miss him dearly."

Madelyn pressed a kiss to her forehead before rubbing her shoulder, "Me too, baby."

Ishmael pulled the screen door aside before he stepped out, walking over to where the two women were, catching their attention as they pulled apart, "Dad told me about this place. I finished it all on the ride here." Mercedes looked at her mom and smiled. Before LJ had been killed and during the time Ishmael was stop baking, he wrote in journals for him to read for when he got older, "He even said that he couldn't wait until I was big enough so he could take me fishing."

Madelyn smiled sadly at him before she placed a hand on his cheek, "I bet Grandpa would most certainly love to take you. Him and your Dad use to go fishing every Sunday morning."

Ishmael let a smile take over his lips at that, letting his head nod, "I'm going to go ask him now."

Mercedes mind drifted into a thought that has been crossing her mind a lot the last two years. She waited until she saw no signs of Ishmael before she started to speak to Madelyn, "Mom, you know I been thinking a lot about this and I'm still trying to figure it out myself, but Ish never asks about his mother."

Before Madelyn could respond, she saw Sam making his way out with his phone in hand, speaking to the two women, "My family should be here in the next hour and the rest of yours are coming tomorrow afternoon."

"You know, I think I like having you in charge of everyone's booking. This might be a good side job for you."

Sam chuckled as Madelyn patted his shoulder and excused herself when she heard her husband calling for her, leaving the couple alone. He looked down at her with a smile, "I've been here all of ten minutes and want to move here."

Mercedes giggled at him, shaking her head, "It's beautiful isn't it?"

"And very peaceful. Away from all the action of the city. This is a good retirement spot we can consider once we're done working and all of the kids are out of the house."

"The bad thing about that is that I know you're serious." Mercedes laughed a bit at him, shaking her head as he snorted, rubbing her arms, "I'm glad my mom thought of this place for our shower. It's perfect and a nice getaway for everyone. I know for sure this will be a great week."

Sam smiled as he leaned down and pressed a kiss to her forehead before wrapping her up in a hug, "Most definitely."

Mercedes felt him pull back not long after to grab his phone when it went off, watching his eyebrow wrinkle in frustration. He has been getting these calls and text since they left home and she didn't know what it was about, "Sam, what's going on?"

"It's nothing you need to worry about, I promise. Let me just go handle this."

Before she could say anything else, he was retreating back into the house, causing the woman to sigh as she placed her hands on her stomach and looked down, speaking softly, "What's your Daddy up to little one?"

A few hours later, everyone had settled in. Sam's family had arrived about three hours after they did but his siblings headed right back out to go shopping for groceries. He was sitting on the couch in the living room, getting some last minute updates from his cousin as the two grandmothers sat at the dining room table with their wine, gushing over baby pictures of their children. He didn't know why, but the relationship between the women was always interesting to him since the first day they met. It shouldn't be that surprising but it was at how they got along so well. He came out of his thoughts when he heard Liam's voice.

"Moon Glass."

"So...a light green."

Liam rolled his eyes as he dropped the brush back into the pan, walking back over to his laptop, "Yes, Sam."

"I'm just stating the obvious. I don't understand why there are all these different names for these colors."

"Do you like it or not?"

"I do, but that's not point. It's just a light green."

Mary chuckled a bit at her son, shaking her before taking another sip of wine just as Madelyn spoke.

"I can't believe how much Sam looks like his father." Madelyn commented with a smile as she looked at the baby pictures, her eyes going to Mary's, "The only thing he has from you is the eye color and baking skills."

Mary giggled at that as she sat her glass down, leaning back into the chair, "Believe it or not, he took my temper too."

Madelyn looked at her shock, shaking her head in disbelief, "No, not you. Really?"

"Unfortunately. My husband was the extinguisher to my flame." Mary smiled a bit as she ran her free hands through her hair, glancing over at Sam, who was pretending not to listen to them while looking at his laptop, "We're more alike than he wants to believe."

Sam let a small smile appear at her words, still not looking away from his screen as he watched Liam show the rest of the progress that they have made, "It's looking real nice, Mercedes is going to love it."

"I hope so. I just wanted to let you see the progress. I'll talk to y'all later." "

"Alright." He hung up just as he saw his siblings coming through the front door, "It took y'all long enough."

AJ rolled his eyes at his brother, "Believe it or not, the nearest grocery store is thirty minutes out."

"And for some reason, it's a lot of people here. I'll get the charcoal started." Veronica escorted the bag out to the back side, causing Lawrence to raise his brow once he came from the back.

"BBQ tonight?"

"Mercedes was craving AJ's ribs for whatever reason." He grunted when he felt a hit upside his head, a glaring brother looking at him as he sat the bags down on the counter, "I cook way better than you."

"Yeah but you can't barbecue worth shit."

"Language." All the women in the room scolded him, catching him off guard as he pressed his lips together.

Sam turned his head back around, grumbling as he got up off the couch and headed down the hall. Once he got to where the open door was, he stopped short at the threshold when he saw her. He just stood and watched as she rubbed her hands over her face, that contained her nighttime moisturizing oil that kept her skin so hydrated, smoothed and smelling good. He let his eyes linger and couldn't help but laugh a bit quietly at the memory. Last week, she had woke him up out of his sleep at five in the morning asking if they could go to the grocery store to get her some oversized t-shirts, saying that there was the best place to get them. Lately, that was the only thing she was completely comfortable in.

Mercedes turned to him as she closed the cap to the bottle, standing up from the bed and going over to him, "You're staring."

"So." He smiled down at her as he wrapped his arms around her waist, dropping down to press a kiss to her lips, then her cheek, lastly her the side of her neck.

Mercedes smiled at him, shrieking a bit at his touch. She was in her last few weeks and every little touch was sensitive to her and sent her into a frenzy, "Don't."

Sam chuckled lightly before he raised his head back to look at her, "You look beautiful."

Mercedes scoffed as she stared up at him, feeling his fingers rubbing soothing circles in her lower back, "I feel like an oversized stuffed pepper."

Sam snorted as he gave her a look at the comparison, "That's...um...new."

Mercedes just ignored him as she glanced down at her stomach, rubbing her hand around it, "Can you let everyone know I'm in for tonight. I'm hungry but my tiredness is just outweighing it at this point."

"Can't go to bed without eating."

"I know but I'm exhausted. I'll probably just wake up through the night and get something." Mercedes bit down on her lip as she felt a kick in her side, "My only hope while we're here is that he holds on until we get back here."

"I have a feeling he will." He reassured her before kissing her once more, groaning when he heard his phone sound off. Picking it out of his pocket, he looked at the screen and saw that it was a text from her father, "Your Dad needs me. You get you some rest, I'll be back."

"I love you."

"I love you, too." Sam smiled before he left out the room, leaving the woman to her thoughts.

Mercedes went and stood in front of the mirror, standing to the side. She smiled a bit as she placed her hands underneath her stomach. She couldn't believe that in a few more weeks, she was been seeing a little baby that her and Sam created. She was so excited. Feeling a yawn taking over her once more, she dropped her hands and turned around for the bed, her eyes going wide when she saw him come in and close the door behind him, "Brandon, what are you doing here?"
