Cool Kid Saves the Cats

Chapter 40: Epilogue

Several months have passed since Cool Cat's return to the world. In that time, everything has miraculously turned back to normal. Thanks to Cool Cat's love and power, humanity was willing to work harder than ever before. It was truly a miracle. Cool Cat spends most of his time putting on shows for kids and families, and occasionally going on adventures when something is going very wrong with the world. (Also just so you know, Cool Cat grew back that arm that Cool Kid ripped off).

Currently, Cool Cat is putting on a show for a large group of kids. He's currently announcing his next film: "Cool Cat Saves the World" and is looking for volunteers to be in the movie. Every kid in the audience eagerly raises their hands. Cool Cat laughs and starts talking with each of the kids to pick his actors. Though unaware to them, they've all already got roles in the film. Cool Cat would never leave a child out of an opportunity like that.

In the distance, on a nearby hill with a perfect view of Cool Cat's performance, is a man wearing a black trench coat, with blond hair, and a comically oversized fedora. It's none other than FaDoug. However, his appearance is slightly different. Mainly, he now has a blue heart on the chest of his white shirt, and he looks absolutely breathtaking. He's holding something round in his arms, covered in a brown cloth. He watches Cool Cat and sighs as a few tear drops fall from his eyes.

"Don't tell me you're going to start uhhhh crying on me now."

FaDoug turns around and smiles as he sees none other than President Barack Obama standing behind him. With a smile, Obama walks up next to FaDoug and watches Cool Cat with him.

"So he's uhhhh finally taken a physical form in this world, huh?" FaDoug nods. Obama smiles again. "And I see that you've come down in your normal physical form as well, what's the uhhhh occasion?"

FaDoug laughs a little. "I just wanted to see an old friend in person." Obama smiles and nods.

"By the way, how was it? Being uhhh human I mean."

FaDoug smiles. "It was unique. It was a lot different than being a God though I'll tell you that much."

"I uhhhh bet." They both laugh together.

"There's just one thinf I regret. In order to turn myself into a human, I could either possess someone or have myself be born as a human. I didn't want to be like Cool Cat, possessing people and taking away their autonomy. So I chose to be born as a human. I never expected I would be born as a twin though." Obama looks at him and nods.

"They didn't think they were going to have twins, I basically just came into existence during the birth. From that day onward, I was always stealing M'Andrew's light. I mean, I was a God born as a human, Everyone looked up to me and loved me, while M'Andrew always got the short end of the only thing that he had over me was that my human form had this weird stutter where I had to keep tipping all the time. It ws really stupid. Point is though, it was unfair to him. I think...it was my fault he turned to evil."

Obama places his hand on FaDoug's shoulder and smiles. "You can't beat yourself up like that, FaDoug. There's some things in uhhhh this world that even a God can't control."

FaDoug places his hand on Obama's hand and smiles back. "Thanks Obama." He looks over at Cool Cat and sighs. "This world really is unfair isn't it? Cool Kid was such a strong person, and he went through so much. And what does he get in return? His personality wiped and his body becomes a vessel for Cool Cat."

Obama looks at Cool Cat as well. "Do you think Cool Kid would be angry with him?"

FaDoug smiles. "That's the thing: he wouldn't. To know that he would be used to help Cool Cat would bring Cool Kid so much joy. He would sacrifice whatever he could to help Cool Cat. He's just that kind of person."

Both of them watch Cool Cat for a few minutes in silence until Obama speaks again. "Uhhh so FaDoug, why did you ask me to come out here? I know it's not just to watch Cool Cat."

FaDoug smirks a little. "Well Obama, since you were absent during this whole event, and the world basically fell into complete chaos-"

"Oh come on, I was in the Fillabong dimension. There was no way I could have known any of this was happening!"

FaDoug smiles. "It's okay Obama, I'm not blaming you. But since I did die as a human, and Cool Kid had to do all the work….I'd say you owe us one."

Obama chuckles to himself and nods. "Okay fine, what do you want, FaDoug?"

"I'm glad you asked. You see, I pulled some strings with the rest of the Gods, and well…" He pulls up a part of the brown cloth to reveal a baby in his arms. It opens its eyes when the sun hits its face, revealing a pair of beautiful crimson eyes.

"FaDoug…."

"I couldn't just let this happen Obama. Cool Kid deserves better than this. Cool Cat can have that body but I won't let him have his soul. Cool Kid deserves a second chance. One where he can finally be happy."

Obama looks away for a moment, and then looks back at FaDoug. "Okay, what do you want me to uhhh do?"

FaDoug raises baby Cool Kid towards Obama. "Raise him. Under your care, I'm sure he will grow to be the most perfect he can be. He deserves this…. You both do."

Obama hesitates for a second, before taking the baby into his arms. "Are you sure uhhh about this?"

FaDoug nods. "There's a lot of things I've been unsure of in the past, but I'm absolutely positive about this." Obama nods and turns around and starts walking away while holding baby Cool Kid. He quickly turns back around and calls to FaDoug.

"What are you going to do now?"

FaDoug turns to face him and smiles. "I can only have this form today. I have to go back to the rest of the Gods after this. So I'm just gonna spend my time watching Cool Cat, it looks like this is gonna last the whole day."

Obama smiles at him. "God's speed, FaDoug."

FaDoug smiles back, and tips his fedora towards him. "Same to you, Obama." FaDoug turns back towards Cool Cat and watches his performance, while Obama walks away with baby Cool Kid in his arms. He smiles warmly at the baby, and baby Cool Kid giggles at him. Obama nods and sheds a single tear. A whole new adventure waits in store for the both of them.
