The next morning, Vic woke up to check his alarm clock. It was now 8:37 AM. So after washing up, getting dressed, and eating breakfast, Vic headed out of the door.
He walked to his garage and hopped in the Infernus inside. He started the engine and pulled into the road to drive through the road of Ocean Beach. He drove straight down until he made his way to Lance's apartment.
Vic put his vehicle to a park, hopped out, and walked over to the building. He approached the front door to find that it was wide opened and walked inside to find Lance standing by the stereo.
"Hey, Vic," Lance greeted turning to him. "Is Louise still in the hospital?"
"Yeah, but she'll be getting out soon," Vic replied.
"That's good," Lance sighed. "Look, we got a big deal coming down today. I'm gonna need you there."
"Wait a minute," Vic answered trying to change the subject. "Why are you asking about Louise?"
"Take it easy," Lance told him calmly. "It's just that... You know, Martinez called and he said that he's gonna "pay her a visit", and I don't think he means to take some fruit."
"What?" Vic asked as his eyes widened in concern.
"Look, the hospital's got security," Lance told him nonchalantly. "She'll be fine. Let's you and me just go make some money."
"You're kidding, right?" Vic asked glaring at Lance for his egocentric attitude.
"Oh, man," Lance uttered shaking his head, "get your priorities in order."
Vic just ignored his brother and headed out of the door. He knew that Lance would be no help, so Vic was going to have to do the job himself. He ran to his Infernus and hopped inside, starting the engine subsequently.
Vic drove onto the road straight ahead and finally reached the end of Washington Beach, where he made a left turn on the intersection of the road.
He was too determined to make sure Louise was okay and not being tortured a second time. She had already been kidnapped once and was on the verge to get killed anytime soon.
Vic drove straight down the bridge leading to the western island and made a right turn on Viceport by the time he reached the end.
Vic drove straight down the long road. He couldn't blink. He couldn't look at any other direction. He was still adamant to getting to Louise before any of his foes had a chance to.
By the time he reached Downtown, he continued driving straight and made a left turn on the road, where he finally came to the hospital to find Louise right outside.
Vic smiled gladly. He quickly put his vehicle in park and hopped out ecstatically. He ran to the front and smiled to see Louise was walking just fine, very robust and a smile on her face as well. She walked up to Vic to face him up close and personal.
"Louise... " Vic said smiling in delight. "Heh, you look good."
"Thanks," Louise responded smiling herself. "I feel good."
"You know, for a while, I thought I'd lost you," Vic told her.
"I thought I'd lost you," Louise replied.
Vic's smile then faded, and he began to look guilty. "Look, I was angry," Vic told Louise scratching his head. "I shouldn't have said what I did. I shouldn't have... "
"No, Vic!" Louise interrupted holding a finger in front of his mouth. "I'm the one who should be sorry." She then held her head down feeling guilty as well. "I was just missing you this whole time, so determined to be with you again, after we dated just this once, that when you were doing your little businesses, that really broke me. So I went by Lance's apartment and he offered me some of his supplies. I was willing to risk my own health to squelch my own loneliness, while I have a baby still living with me. I brought it on myself. I'm very sorry, Vic."
She walked up to Vic and gave him a tight hug, sobbing silently into his shoulder. Vic hugged her back and patting her on the back.
"There, there," Vic told her in a conciliatory voice. "I forgive you, Louise. In retrospect, it wasn't your fault. You just took the wrong stuff and it made you act a certain kind of way."
"Yes it was my fault," Louise replied tearfully. "I had the choice to walk away from it and I took it instead." She continued sobbing silently.
"It's going to be okay," Vic told her once again. "Just do me one favor."
"Sure, Vic," Louise answered wiping her tears away. "What would that be?"
"NEVER accept jack shit from my moron brother," Vic told her.
This made Louise chuckle a bit at that reply. "Okay, Vic," she told him. "After this, I will never take any more drugs as long as I live."
"Great," Vic replied. "So you wanna do something fun? No business, just me and you?"
Just then, Vic received a message from his pager, he took it off of his belt and read it.
"Aw, nuts, it's Lance," he groaned. He read the message some more. "What the hell?!" he cried out. "Trapped in a burning building - bring a helicopter"? What can I do?!"
"Business can be fun," Louise suggested. "There's a helicopter on the roof of the hospital. We could take that."
Vic didn't have much of a choice. So he and Louise entered the hospital building, took the elevator on the top floor, and made it to the roof of the building, where they came across a helipad with an Air Ambulance resting on top.
The two hopped in, and Vic started the engine, descending the helicopter gradually in the air. Vic continued raising the helicopter until it was now about 100 feet in the air.
As Vic accelerated above the city, Louise stared through the windows from up above. She was feeling so excited, as she had never flew on a helicopter before, much less any airborne vehicle at all.
The Air Ambulance accelerated over the ocean, with the shining sun in the glistering through the reflected water from up above. There were a few boats riding through the water as well. The sky from up above were colorful shades of blue and peach.
Vic flew above the buildings of Vice Point on search of the burning building Lance paged him about earlier. As he flew above Ocean Beach, he finally spotted the burning building up ahead. Louise looked straight ahead as well.
"There's the building!" Louise shouted. "I can't see Lance, though! Get in closer!"
So Vic got closer to the building, and there he was - Lance calling for help!
"There he is!" Louise announced vociferously.
Vic hovered the Air Ambulance about six inches above the building's rooftop and right next to Lance.
"Get in, you idiot!" Vic growled at his brother.
"What happened?" Louise asked as Lance slowly climbed into the helicopter to join the other two.
"Did you run into any trouble?" Lance asked the two, who shook their heads in response. "No? Well, I did. Martinez set us up - divide and conquer. He got you out of the way and nearly nailed me. Martinez's men took everything...but we're gonna get it back. They headed out to sea. Come on, let's get after them!"
Vic sighed in annoyance. The one time he wanted to spend more time with Louise after she checked out of the hospital, and it just had to be ruined by more of Martinez's schemes. He couldn't seem to catch a break for once.
So Vic descended the helicopter from above the rooftop, with Lance sitting on the edge of the doors while armed with an AK-47, and accelerated to the seas to his left. up ahead was the beach in which the pedestrians were spread around the sandy area. The sun glistened brightly above the water.
Vic flew up over the glistening ocean while Lance looked around to find Martinez's goons around the body of water. He finally spotted them escaping via speedboats and a large white boat.
"There they are!" Lance called.
So Vic flew closer to the goons on boat and kept the helicopter balanced as Lance used his weapon to fire at the goons, who fired back at him. Lance barely dodged the bullets fired at him and returned the favor with some bullets of his own to fire at the goons.
"Yeah, not so clever now, huh?!" he shouted gleefully as he killed the couple of goons on one of the speedboats.
Vic then hovered over the next speedboat, in which the goons were firing at Lance from, and the latter fired more bullets at the goons, killing them all one by one.
"Eat lead, sucker!" he cheered loudly.
Lance was really enjoying himself at the moment. He was really in for a surprise for the next goons, because there was still the large white boat up ahead.
Vic wasted no time as he flew to the white boat and hovered over it, keeping it level so Lance could get a clear shot. Lance fired at the goons on the boat, killing each of them one by one.
"I got you, you mother!" he shouted in glee.
It was finally over. Every goon in each of the boats were now dead, which meant that the Vance brothers got their money back.
"Get me over that boat, Vic!" Lance shouted pointing at the boat. "It's got our money in it!"
So Vic lowered the helicopter low enough for Lance to climb out and onto the boat, and the latter jumped inside of the boat, taking the wheel of the vehicle.
"I'll see you cats later!" Lance called to Vic and Louise. "Keep popping!"
Vic watched as Lance drove the boat away and out of sight. He then turned to Louise.
"I'm sorry!" he told her. "Things just keep cropping up! Maybe we can still have some fun!'
"That's OK, Vic!" Louise told him grinning widely. "I had fun! But I should be getting back to Mary-Beth now!"
"Oh, yeah!" Vic replied. He remembered that Mary-Jo had left him a message telling him that he would stay at Louise's place to take care of her baby. "Sure."
Vic then continued flying the helicopter up above and accelerated above the city. He flew above some buildings surrounding the flying Air Ambulance around.
Louise looked below as the vehicle accelerated above. "It's a great view from up here!" she yelled as Vic flew above Vice Point. "I think I see my place! There are some beautiful houses down there... Some real shit-holes, too! This is so cool, honey!"
Right when Vic finally landed the helicopter next to Louise's place up ahead, he saw that Mary-Jo was standing by the door waving to him. So Vic lowered the helicopter and parked it onto the asphalt as its propeller stopped running.
Vic and Louise then exited the vehicle and walked over to the latter's house.
"Louise, I'll call you real soon," Vic told Louise.
"Oh, OK," Louise responded.
"I'm kind of in the middle of a war right now," Vic told her.
"It's okay," Louise replied. "I'll wait."
Vic smiled as he saw Louise walking up to Mary-Jo. Not only had Louise checked out of the hospital completely robust, she had to have fun with Vic on her way out once again. He had hoped that his war with the Mendez brothers would end soon.
Just then, he heard his pager beeping, and he took it off his belt to answer it. It was from Martinez.
"You were lucky, Vic," the message read. "but you've got shit for brains. Just remember - luck runs out... "
Vic just growled at the message. He really wanted to get Martinez back for torturing Louise just to taunt him gleefully. He was so close to destroying the pager onto the asphalt until he read another message. This time, it was from Phil.
"Hey Vic," the message read. "I got some exciting news for you. Meet me at the Fort Baxter Air Base. You're gonna love this... "
Vic's anger quickly altered to delight. Whatever Phil wanted him to see at the military base, it had to be good. So he ran up over to the helicopter, started the engine, and gradually descended the vehicle higher until it reached 100 feet up in the air. He flew straight above the city and to the southwest of the island on his way to the military base.
