So last chapter, Ryou and Bakura found the green gem and defeated Electric Snake, and Yami defeated Kaiba in another duel. But then, the purple snake gem had been revealed and unleashed a Ka monster known as Sorcerer of Dark Magic. Luckily, Silent Magician and the other monsters defeated it. Now they must find the yellow and blue snake jewels. Lets see if the others will find them.

He felt the warmth emanate onto his hands as he continued to gently polish the orange snake gem with a cloth. The gem felt comfortable, and liked being polished. He had to make sure the gem is clean and happy, and luckily, the baby snake within the gem is grateful.

Malik still couldn't believe he doesn't feel afraid of the orange snake gem. Besides the baby snake, he feels protective of it. Its probably bigger snakes that scare him, not baby snakes. Plus, baby snakes are a lot cuter than the adult ones.

Shaking his head at the thought, he continued to wipe the surface while sitting comfortably on his chair. "Do you happen to have a name, little fella?"

He saw the baby snake blink at him, and flicked its forked tongue out. Since he has no idea if it's a boy snake or a girl name, he'll settle with a name related to its personality. "How about Nuru? It means born during the day."

His response is the gem glowing, and hopping up and down in his arms. He chuckled and gazed at it. "I assume you like that name? Then your name shall be Nuru."

"Nuru huh? It's a fitting name."

Malik turned his head, spotting Mariku leaning against the doorframe. "The little guy should have a name. We can't call it an orange snake gem all the time. Its best we name them until we return them all back home."

Mariku chuckled. "I never thought you would be so considerate towards a snake jewel."

"Baby snakes are adorable. Adult snakes are frightening," Malik turned his attention back to the gem. "But I like birds the best. They're amazing creatures."

"They truly are," Mariku strolled over to his desk, and slung his arm over Malik's shoulder while resting his head against his. "Sister got a call from your friends. They found the green and purple snake jewels. Only two more left."

"Good to know. All that's left is the yellow and blue snake gems. After that, we send them back to their home."

"Back to Goddess Wadjet's resting chambers. She'll be pleased to see them again."

"She and her sons will be at ease once they see the snake gems again. Though I still can't believe they suddenly revealed themselves here in Cairo and back at Domino City."

"Due to the cobra queen's presence along with the discovery of the silver snake gem, they had been awakened," Mariku leaned more against his lighter half. "They scattered around to find their snake princes; the ones who first discovered them 5,000 years ago."

"Though no one mentioned they can also unleash their Ka monsters. I'm hoping the next gem we find does not have a powerful Ka monster."

Mariku chuckled at his response. "Be careful what you wish for, hikari. Sister mentioned that the pharaoh and the others faced off against a powerful Ka monster while retrieving the purple snake gem. There's a chance the yellow snake gem will be difficult to achieve."

Malik arched his eyebrow. "Are you certain the yellow snake gem is here?"

"Indeed. Our monsters will tell us when it's nearby."

"Now I hope the yellow snake gem won't unleash a dangerous Ka monster that can harm Cairo or its pyramids."

"You never know when it will happen," Mariku grinned evilly, and pulled his arm so he would stand up. "Now come out of this room. Ishizu said you can't stay inside here forever."

"I'm still cleaning the orange snake gem. I'm not doing anything wrong," Malik replied.

"She also needs to speak with you about something."

"After I finish polishing Nuru."

"Nope!~ Right now!~"

Mariku placed one arm around his waist and placed another arm under his knees, scooping him up and holding him like a bride. "She also mentioned I can drag you out of here."

"H-Hey! Put me down! I can walk, you know!" Malik blushed, clutching onto Mariku's top with one hand while cradling the gem near his chest with the other hand.

"It doesn't look like you want me to let you go," Mariku smirked, and gave him a quick peck on his forehead. "Time to leave the room, my pretty Malik."

"I'm serious here! Do I look like a fragile maiden to you!?"

"More like a protective mother."

"I can't be a mom! I'm a boy! And don't you dare say anything else!"

Flipping through the pages, Ishizu continued to read each entry her mother wrote. They mentioned about what she had done throughout our childhood, all the way to her adulthood. Besides getting knowledge about the Wasem Clan and their worship for Goddess Wadjet, there wasn't any information about the snake gems.

She remembered the image from the papyrus, and wondered why the cobra goddess sent her sons to find the snake gems. Mariku mentioned they could grant a wish when all 7 are collected, and they activate from Wadjet's powers. Is there a wish the goddess or her sons wanted?

A cup of tea appeared on the table, causing her to look up and give him a grateful smile. "Thank you, Odion. I forgot to make some tea for the both of us."

Odion waved it off, while giving her a small smile. "Its no problem at all, Ishizu. You looked like you really needed it." He sat down on the couch next to her. "Are you still searching for something in mother's journal?"

"I am. Sadly, there is nothing much said about Goddess Wadjet's snake gems," she sighed, placing the book down on her lap and picked up her cup. "All I know is there are 7 snake jewels, and the cobra goddess created them. They activate from her powers, unleashing Ka monsters to keep themselves safe from danger."

She blew on her tea, and took a small sip. "When all 7 are together and activate their powers, they shall grant the user a wish. I do not know why the cobra queen sent her sons to search for them, but it's possible they have a wish. I do not know what it is though."

Odion placed a finger on his chin in a thinking pose. "Only the snake princes and other snakes are allowed to touch the jewels. A person or a snake must have snake blood in their veins to be allowed to touch the cobra queen's snake gems. The pharaoh, bandit king, and assassin were allowed due to the jewelry they wore that was blessed by the snake goddess herself."

"They left their home at the age of 16 to search for the snake gems. Why wait that long? Was she testing them?"

"Its possible. Maybe to prepare them for what the outside world is like. They lived underground for a very long time, just like us."

Ishizu blinked, and realized he was right. But before she could dwell on his statement, yelling could be heard from the hallway. She glanced over, and saw Mariku coming in with Malik in his arms. She covered her mouth to prevent herself from laughing; realizing Mariku is holding her brother like a princess.

"I'm more of a father than a mother!"

"I believe your motherly personality towards the orange snake gem suits you well."

"Do not change the subject, other me! I can't be a mom! Its impossible!"

"What about Odion? Doesn't he care for you like a parent?"

"He's my father figure! And Ishizu is my mother figure! There's a huge difference!"

"What about me?"

"Just put me down! I don't want Ishizu or Odion to see me being carried like this!"

Ishizu coughed, causing Malik to pale and turn his head to see them staring at him and Mariku. He yelped and struggled to get down. "S-Sister! B-Brother! C-Convince Mariku to put me down! My legs aren't broken!"

Odion sighed. "Mariku, its best to put down Malik. He knows how to walk."

"Also, whatever you two do should be private and behind closed doors," Ishizu said in a stern tone. "This house must remain clean with no mess."

Mariku shrugged, and placed Malik on the couch. He then sat down next to Malik, smirking while facing Ishizu and Odion across from the other side. "He doesn't mind me touching him."

"More like being handsy," Malik grumbled, and maintained a sitting position while holding the orange snake gem in his lap.

Placing the cup down on the table, Ishizu cleared her throat and folded her hands on the book. "Now that you are here, we must discuss about finding the yellow snake gem."

"I know. Mariku told me about Yugi, Ryou, and the others finding the green and purple snake gems. All that's left is the yellow and blue snake gems, correct?"

"You are correct. We were lucky to prevent the orange snake gem from causing havoc near the pyramids. But now, its crucial to find the yellow snake gem before it unleashes a powerful Ka monster that can harm Cairo or people."

Odion folded his arms. "The orange snake gem unleashed Dark Jeroid. It wasn't difficult to defeat it, but we are certain the yellow snake gem will unleash a Ka monster stronger than Dark Jeroid. We must keep our eyes and ears open for anything."

Malik gazed at the orange snake gem, and then at his siblings. "Will it make an appearance if it got scared or threatened?"

"It will. Like a snake, they'll retaliate and strike back," Mariku added. "The prey will do everything they can to keep themselves safe from the predator."

Malik held the gem closer to him, and gulped. "L-Lets hope the yellow snake gem does not unleash a powerful Ka monster like you said, sister."

"Me too, Malik. For now, we must find a way to locate the yellow snake jewel," Ishizu said. "Maybe your Ka monsters might help us: Lava Golem and Revival Jam."

"Along with Gravekeeper's Visionary. He is also familiar with Goddess Wadjet and her snake jewels," Odion added. "They can help us locate the yellow snake gem."

Mariku folded his arms, and leaned his head back to gaze at the ceiling. "Before we can do that, hikari here must wear his disguise. No one must see him touch the snake gem, or they'll know of his relation to the cobra queen."

Malik paled, and then scowled. "I am not wearing a dress! You can't make me!"

"I can't believe I'm wearing it," Malik grumbled, and pulled his hijab over his eyes. "This is way too embarrassing."

Ishizu sighed at his antics. "Malik, you're only wearing a long dress and hijab. No one would recognize you, and only think you're a female shopping with her family."

"How come Mariku won't wear a dress!? He can also touch the snake jewel without getting burned!"

"Because if anyone dare try to target me, I unleash my rage at them," Mariku grinned evilly. "Targeting an assassin is a bad idea."

"It is best no one knows of your past life as an assassin, Mariku," Odion commented. "We must keep ourselves hidden from view."

Mariku shrugged, and crossed his arms over his chest. "Going to the market doesn't hide us unless we blend in with the crowd."

"Besides getting groceries for tonight's dinner, I have a premonition that something will happen soon," Ishizu placed her hand over her neck, remembering the Millennium Necklace she once wore. "Call it a feeling that can never go away."

"And it predicted that we're going to the market while I wore this disguise?" Malik groaned.

"It isn't that bad, brother. I think you look wonderful in it. Even Odion and Mariku think the same thing."

Odion nodded. "Indeed. It's a perfect disguise, and no one would bother you while we're here."

"I don't allow anyone to mess with my hikari unless they wish to anger me," Mariku slung an arm around Malik's shoulders and pulled him close. "So stay close to me, my hikari."

Malik huffed, and looked away while folding his arms. "I still look stupid in this outfit. Also, I'm not weak and I know how to fight. Give me some credit here."

Mariku chuckled and gave him a side hug, while Ishizu and Odion smiled at the sight. In the beginning, it was a huge shocker to learn about Mariku's past life along with Malik's past life. Ishizu still couldn't believe her brother and his darker half knew each other in the past, and also had a relationship as lovers.

She and Odion couldn't comprehend it at first, and were still hesitant around Mariku when he was revived back. However, his personality started to change little by little and he was able to mellow out. He's no longer bloodthirsty and psychotic, but is still clear on his threats if there is any danger towards Malik or himself. He even became quite protective and a little possessive towards Malik.

Ishizu had a feeling her brother and his dark half's relationship is starting to evolve from friendship. She even noticed Malik's cheeks turning red a lot whenever Mariku is around him. It surprised her that Malik is not only comfortable around Mariku, but is also gaining feelings for him. This is something she must keep in mind since they are both boys, and she cares for her brother's happiness as long as he never forgets his duties as the heir of the Tomb-Keepers.

As for Odion, it's his duty to protect his family and make sure they are happy. He is glad Malik is no longer feeling frightened of Mariku, and always kept an eye on him to make sure there is no harm towards Malik. He is happy that both Malik and Mariku getting along well and have a close relationship with each other. Though he is still astonished over their past lives along with their relationship as lovers.

However, he thinks of Malik as his own brother and wants to make sure he is happy. If Malik and Mariku start a relationship with each other as a couple, he'll support them. However, he'll make sure that they must remember their duties as Tomb-Keepers to protect the pharaoh's name, tomb, and legacy.

Malik continued to pull the hijab over his forehead to cover his eyes. Since time had changed, most of the men and women had to wear traditional outfits based on their religion. For the women, they wear outfits that cover them from head to toe along with a hijab to cover their head. Right now, he's wearing a long, full-sleeved purple dress that reaches his ankles with a pair of white shoes and a lilac-colored hijab. He still couldn't believe it fits him, and Ishizu kept it in her closet.

"Now then, shall we start shopping for our groceries?" Ishizu suggested.

Before they could reply, a loud explosion caught their attention. A woman screamed and pointed at something, causing everyone to look over and gasp in fright. A huge dragon hovered in the sky, covered in golden scales shimmering from the sun's light. It snarled, and let out a huge roar that terrified the citizens.

At first, the dragon might've been The Winged Dragon of Ra, but it wasn't. It was a different Ka monster with green eyes, and appeared to be strong. Letting out another roar, the dragon scanned the crowd, spotting something. It flapped its wings once, letting out a powerful gust of wind. Malik and his family covered their eyes, preventing sand from getting into their face.

As they looked back, the dragon roared and swooped down, causing the citizens to run away while screaming in fright or hide. Malik saw the dragon gazing at something, and looked at its direction to see a woman frozen in fear while hugging her small child protectively. Seeing the dragon get closer to them, he quickly sprinted and got in front of the dragon's path, spreading his arms out to use himself as a shield.

Unfortunately, the dragon didn't stop and ended up scooping Malik in its arms and flew up, causing him to yelp in surprise and reached his arm out towards his family. "Sister! Brother! Other me!"

"Malik!" Ishizu cried out in horror.

Odion and Mariku sprinted to catch up with the dragon, but it was starting to fly further away from them. Snarling in anger, Mariku activated his duel disk, pulling out a card he knew would work and placed it on the slot. "Rise from the ashes as an immortal phoenix! The Winged Dragon of Ra!"

Clouds began to cover the sky, making the golden dragon stop. A yellow sphere floated down from above, and started to unlock itself. Like an egg, it hatched open to reveal The Winged Dragon of Ra, who let out a huge screech and came out of the sphere. The golden dragon roared at Ra, who screeched loudly while glaring at it.

Malik winced as he felt the yellow dragon's grip on him tighten, and knew a fight will happen. "G-Goddess Wadjet's yellow snake gem, please calm down! There's no need to be afraid! We just wanna help you!"

The golden dragon ignored him, and opened its mouth to launch an attack. A burst of yellow light shot out from its mouth like a beam, and headed straight towards Ra. However, Ra shielded itself with its wings to block the attack, rendering it useless.

Mariku stopped where they were and tapped on his card, activating Ra's effect. He bit his bottom lip to refrain from screaming, as his life points dropped down to 1. They were now added to Ra, who felt its attack points increase from his life points.

Odion also stopped, realizing they're now out in the desert away from the town. The desert field is better where there are no people or animals around. Odion activated his duel disk, and pulled out a card to place it on the slot. "Embodiment of Apophis, appear before me!"

A tall monster covered in black scales with a purple underbelly, a human head with armor outlined in gold, a snake head rising from behind its neck, wielding a sword and a shield on both hands while its lower body is serpent-like appeared. The monster hissed loudly, while prepared to attack.

"Be ready to catch my brother if he falls. So do not attack yet!" Odion commanded.

Meanwhile, Malik is struggling to get out of the yellow dragon's grip, while pleading it to calm down and listen. He knew Ra will take out the monster, and his family will be there to catch him from below. Why did he think it was a good idea to leave his duel disk and deck back in his room?

Panting heavily, Mariku extended his arm out. "Ra, cast your rage upon my foe! Blaze Cannon!"

Opening its mouth, energy began to store up and create a giant orb. Then, Ra launched its attack at its opponent like a flame shooting out of its mouth, causing the monster to get hit and screech in pain as it got destroyed and turned into particles. However, Malik is no longer being held in the air and flew down. Luckily, the Embodiment of Apophis jumped up and caught him, landing softly on the ground while holding Malik in its arms.

As it placed Malik on his feet, the monsters vanished and went back inside their cards. Then, Malik felt himself getting engulfed by a pair of strong arms, along with questions on whether or not he is okay. He even heard Ishizu calling out for him, but his eyes were focused on the glowing jewel floating down towards him.

He reached his arms over and felt the gem land softly in his hands, bringing it closer to his chest as he held the yellow snake gem protectively. He softly smiled, as he saw the baby snake flicking its forked tongue at him while gazing at him with its cute, beady eyes.

He felt someone turning his head and a pair of warm lips pressed against his mouth. Blushing red, the lips went away as he gazed at a pair of pupil-less dark purple eyes filled with worry, anger, and relief. "D-Did you just kiss me?"

Mariku hugged him more, tightening his grip on him. "You idiot! What you did back there was reckless! You put yourself in danger by letting yourself get captured by that dragon!"

"I-I couldn't let that dragon hurt the mother or her child. I had to do something!"

"By endangering yourself!? What if it decided to attack instead of capturing you!?"

"He wouldn't! The yellow snake gem sensed my snake blood, and knew I wasn't a threat!"

"And if it didn't!?"

Malik opened his mouth, but closed it after seeing Mariku's eyes filled with hurt. Seeing Odion and Ishizu with worried expressions, he mumbled an apology and hugged Mariku tightly, making sure the yellow snake gem he's holding wouldn't fall. Soon, Ishizu joined the hug along with Odion. As they all continued to hug each other, the yellow snake gem glowed brightly.

Chills went through his spine, as a puff of cold air escaped his lips. He could feel the Ka monster's gaze on him, studying him while waiting to see if he would make a move. He can't escape, due to his surroundings being covered in snow and ice.

Ryou shivered; glad he is wearing long sleeves to keep him warm. At first, he and his friends were at Duke's café enjoying some ice cream when it suddenly began to slow. It was spring, so it was impossible for snow to suddenly appear since the winter season is over. However, the snowfall didn't stop and everything became chilly. The ground is covered in snow, people were shivering and decided to leave or go inside the stores to stay warm, and a few wanted to figure out what's going on.

Then, that's when she appeared.

The Ka monster made her appearance, and Ryou knew it was a female. Besides her long blonde hair and feminine figure, he saw her face and she wore a blue mask to cover her mouth and chin. Her outfit consisted of a full-sleeved white and blue dress with shoulder pads that had blue gems on the front, white boots, a white cape hung around her shoulders, a white head cover that looked like it was made from ice, and a staff encased in ice with a huge snowflake pattern on the top.

He had a feeling it was the blue snake gem unleashing its Ka monster, and it made its appearance here in the outdoor mall. He saw the ice staff glowing, and gasped to see some of the citizens frozen solid, encased in ice. Even Duke's father became frozen solid in a block of ice.

His friends activated their duel disks, as did he. He could feel Bakura's emotions through the mind-link, and knew he was angry. They were going to relax, and he also wanted his darker half to try the frozen treat. He liked it, and preferred the cherry ice cream since it reminded him of blood. Luckily, no one commented on his preference since he seemed to be happy eating his ice cream.

But now, its on pause due to the blue snake gem appearing. He noticed the Ka monster staring at him, so he locked eyes with her icy blue eyes. She didn't feel threatened by him, but to him, it seemed like she was waiting for him to make a move. Since it's a battle, he'll accept it.

Going through his deck, he found the monster he needed and placed it on the slot. "I activate Polymerization! I fuse together Tainted Wisdom and Ancient Brain to summon Skull Knight!"

Skull Knight appeared on the field, slashing the air with its long sword and holding its shield with its other hand. He heard his friends summoning their monsters, and noticed Bakura summoning Dark Necrofear. Feeling the temperature decreasing and his body shivering more, he pointed his finger at the Ka monster. "S-Skull Knight! Attack with your sword and shield!"

"Go, Dark Necrofear! Doom Gaze!"

As all the monsters shot forward, the icy Ka monster did the same and fought them. Luckily, Skull Knight landed its attack on the Ka monster, and she got destroyed and turned into particles. Soon, all the snow and ice melted away and the monsters vanished and went back inside their respective cards. Everyone sighed in relief to see the temperature had returned back to normal, and those who were encased in ice were able to move again.

Deactivating his duel disk, Ryou saw something twinkling floating down towards him. Cupping his hands out, the blue snake gem landed softly in his hands. He noticed the baby snake looking at him, and he cradled the gem in his arms while smiling softly at it. "I'm assuming you're a female, correct?"

The blue snake gem bounced a little, causing him to chuckle and stroke it. "I'll take that as a yes." He felt arms hugging his waist from behind, and a chin resting on his shoulder. "We found the blue snake gem, Bakura. This one's a female, so I'm naming her Mesi."

"Mesi?" Bakura took a closer look at the snake jewel. "It means water. The Ka monster had ice powers, not water powers."

"Ice and snow are made out of water. Plus, she likes the name."

"You're still in school, and you're already becoming a parent? You need to slow down, yadonushi."

Ryou blushed. "I-Its my protective instincts. They make me become like a parent to the snake gems."

"He's got a point," Yugi chimed in. "I feel the same way towards the red and purple snake gems. Yami and I also gave them names."

"Which suit them well," Yami added. "I helped my aibou name them."

Duke snickered. "I can definitely hear the wedding bells soon."

Tea slapped the back of his head. "Ignoring his teasing statement towards them, I believe we have collected 6 snake gems."

"We got one more left, which is the yellow snake gem," Tristan answered.

Joey folded his arms, and tilted his head. "Dat would mean Malik and his family would find dat gem in Egypt."

Duke rubbed his aching head. "And once all 7 are collected, we send those jewels back home?"

"To Goddess Wadjet's resting place. We'll have to travel back to Cairo to meet up with Isis and her family again," Yami stated.

Bakura rested his cheek against Ryou's. "Once we return those jewels and see her pleased look, then everything is over. No more crazy stuff happening, which is stupid because I like encountering dangerous events."

Ryou patted his head. "Its best to wait until after graduation. The others and I must prepare for our future."

"That doesn't involve snakes! They still freak me out!" Joey trembled.

They all laughed at Joey's statement, feeling the mood lighten up as the blue snake gem glowed and nestled comfortably in Ryou's arms.

It's almost over! I'll include more fluff between our favorite couples so get ready! The monsters I used in the story for the yellow and blue snake gems are Victory Dragon and Ice Master!
