Hello everyone,

Last chapter was a long one, and held a big surprise for everyone! Let's see how something like that affects the story! At first, I thought the fight was short, because the biggest threat was the dragonite, and Madara handled that pretty quickly although at great cost. But I'm glad the overall reaction has been positive.

Anyway, let's get into it.

I pulled up my black combat boots on my legs, and tucked in the navy blue pant legs into them. There was a little strap that I put through the two holes on the pants to secure them to the boots.

The fabric of the pants felt like silk, although I knew it was the top of the line. Organic steel was at the core of the thread, providing the main support. I wondered if it was from a steelix, or aggron, or some other steel type. Maybe we could produce it completely ourselves. Our technology was ridiculous.

I threw on a plain black shirt on next, and tucked it into the pants. Next, I grabbed my navy blue vest and threw it on. It wasn't a vest designed for warmth, although it could provide it. It was mostly just the same thin but strong metal woven fibers. I tucked that into my pants also, before zipping it up and belting it. There was a turtleneck on the vest, and I couldn't help but think it was to prevent slit throats. I folded it down anyway.

They sent me three top options. A jacket with long sleeves that provided the most protection. A simple shirt that provided the least protection, and a vest that was somewhere in the middle, but way more fashionable. Naturally, I chose the vest.

I strapped on my black fingerless gloves while I moved to my bathroom. My normal morning routine happened naturally, although I was busy looking myself over.

If I really wanted to, I could see the bullet hole scar in my shoulder, or the thin ropy lines that ran along my ribs, or the four talon marks on my shoulders. Even through the clothes covering it up, I could see it.

My eyes found my left arm, where black ink ran up and down it in an intricate pattern. It started at my wrist, and I went with the douchiest option to start it out. Flames licked up my arm, from the starting point. I couldn't help but think it signified my bond with Madara. In the center of the forearm, there was a medallion, exactly like Minato's. The silver band connected to it wrapped up my arm.

On my elbow, the flames that started the tattoo swirled into a circle. The circle was just like Asuma's different colored fur on his stomach.

The flames turned into waves on the upper arm. On my shoulder was the backside of Hashi's head, showing off his braid that also ran down my arm. Under that, on the bicep, was Shika's red eyes. The only colored part of the tattoo was her red eyes. I couldn't help but think she was so important to the core of my team that she deserved to have the coloring.

It was impulsive, but I loved the tattoo. I did it in one sitting, and it was much easier than my old world. It was all done by machine lasering, and exact. It cost me a pretty penny, but it was worth it. I didn't have to worry about money for a long time. Nor did I have to worry about the healing process of my skin. Fairy types are broken.

I climbed down the stairs, chasing the smell of bacon. My timing was perfect as my mother set a plate down for me on the table. My father held a tablet and was reading something on the net. Both of their eyes flicked to me, and down to my arm. My father just looked away, and shook his head slightly.

"What is that?!" My mother couldn't help herself.

"A tattoo." I answered, maybe a little too sarcastically.

"Brawly! Do you know what you've done!? Those things never come off perfectly!" She was in full mother mode.

"The boy is grown, dear. He can make his own mistakes." Brody said, interrupting them. "Plus, don't you have some news for him?"

"Don't you try and distract me, Brody!" She turned her anger to him, and I was glad for it. I slipped past her and sat down where my food was waiting for me. I dug into it quickly, like I was worried my mother might drug me with it if it sat there for too long.

"What is the news?" I asked between bites.

My mother's eyes dipped to my arm again, and I knew she was pondering whether or not to make a bigger deal out of it or not. I hoped she didn't.

She walked over to where her purse sat on the counter, and grabbed something from it's dark depths. She brought it to me and slapped it on the table. It was a trainer I.D., a new one.

I realized the implications immediately. "You're starting over?" I asked happily. It was a good thing, for sure.

She nodded, and a smile tugged at her lips. "Yep, passed the test the same day as your match with Clair. That was a good day for me." She admitted while she sat down with a pleased smile.

"Tell him the best part." Brody said while not even looking up from his tablet.

"I aced it!" She said with an even bigger smile. There was a little pouch on her apron that I thought looked a little too full when I walked down the stairs. I assumed it was her pokegear or something like that.

She reached her hand into the pouch and pulled out a pokemon. A pokemon that would become of the most broken pokemon in the series: Mudkip. Starter of the Hoenn region, that eventually evolves into marshtomp, and then swampert, a ground and water type. It only had one weakness, and it was a major one. Grass types. That's it. I already knew that type effectiveness started to lose it's value at the upper levels, if Sabrina's Alakazam was any indication.

"Wow Mom!" I exclaimed. I got up from my seat and moved over to hers to hug her neck and kiss her on the cheek. "That's awesome!"

"And I've already got three pokemon!" She added.

I waited patiently for her to tell me what other pokemon she managed to collect. Brody grumbled something behind me, something that sounded like 'it cost me a fortune too'. Mother gave him the stink eye before telling me.

"Junior had a baby with Diantha's Gardevoir. Guess who got the ralts?" She said.

The first part of that sentence made my brain short-circuit. Junior? A champion level pokemon, mated with another true champion's pokemon… And they gave the baby to… my mother? They could have sold the egg for so much money that it would pay Brody's salary for the next five years, and that was after splitting the profits with Diantha.

That ralts is going to be a fucking monster.

"Holy shit!" I exclaimed.

Instead of berating me, she just nodded at me. "I know right?!"

I just stared at her and pinched the bridge of my nose. "What's the last one?" I asked, knowing there was no way it was as impressive as the last two that she had. The powerhouses of her team were already taken care of.

"Riolu."

I almost punched a hole through the wall behind me. My mother could potentially have a team with swampert, gardevoir, and lucario? Did one even need more than those three?! That was one of the best teams I could even think of having, assuming one could juggle training them properly.

Something told me my mother, a woman who juggled being a wife to a gym leader, running a household, and raising me, could handle the training.

All three of those can mega evolve too… I couldn't help but think.

"Are you ok, sweetie?" She asked as she looked at my face.

I turned around to my father, who was doing his best to keep a straight face while drinking coffee. I gave him my most incredulous look. "You fucking kidding me?" I asked.

"Happy wife, happy life, son." Brody said setting his cup down. "If you would have waited until going on your journey, I might have done the same for you…"

I stepped on the part of me that wanted to be jealous, and turned back to my mother. I sent her a genuine smile. "That's gonna be a good team mom. You deserve it." I told her truthfully.

Her lower lip quivered slightly, and I panicked. She wrapped her arms around my neck and pulled me down to her. "Thank you sweetie! I was worried you would be mad at your father and I!" She said with a small sniffle.

I held her for a moment, the way you do when your mother is about to cry. She continued to squeeze me tight for another few seconds and then let me go. Her eyes were red, but no tears fell. In fact, she looked like she was mad at herself for getting so emotional.

"What are they gonna do when you're the champion of Hoenn, and I'm the champion of the Indigo Plateau, huh?" I joked to get her out of her mood.

She sent me a smile that told me she appreciated the gesture.

"Now that is over, and you've eaten breakfast, you should talk to your psychic." Brody told me in a way that made me do it immediately.

I moved to the back door and sent a questioning feeling to the mind attached to mine.

The big one is down at the beach, and has been since last night. He has yet to wake for the day. He was up late. Minato told me, while also sending me images of my mother's ralts. He was currently training it on some of the lower moves a psychic should know with Junior.

Thanks. I told him and let my feet carry me to my destination.

Shika trotted up next to me and walked beside me. I let my hand drop to her fur and stroke it a little. We still hadn't talked about the distance that had formed between us, but I was waiting patiently for her decision.

Minato continued to send me updates on the rest of my pokemon. Tobi was currently in the depths of the ocean, terrorizing the local population and dispersing his seed to any other female gyarados he saw.

My father's poliwrath circled him as he showed him the ropes of his territory.

Asuma was in a strength training competition with my father's newly evolved Hakamo-o. Leave it up to my father to evolve a pseudo faster than normal. The little dragon was apparently turning into a monster on the battlefield. Asuma was getting there, both coverage and strength wise. I would start battling with him soon, to gather experience.

Madara was currently racing across the beach, enjoying the awed looks he got from tourists. He even found a growlithe to play with for a little while.

Soon enough, I reached my destination.

Hashi had awoken for the day already, although he hadn't moved from his spot. Minato actually lost his connection for a second while I was on my way to the beach, but I didn't worry about my starter. Very few things on this island could give him enough trouble for me to worry.

Hashi was looking down in his lap at something. I couldn't tell what it was from my angle.

My heart ached slightly as my eyes found Tsunade's burial spot. I put my hand on Hashi's shoulder to let him know I was here. He didn't even react, he must have sensed me a while back. Or maybe Minato let him know I was on the way.

I didn't worry about it. I was taken back by what he cradled in his hands.

"Brak!"

The noise the pokemon made sounded like the bird off of UP, the disney movie. It was like a little bark.

The pokemon had a light green body, with a darker green/blue spot on it that had spikes protruding from it. There were no back legs, instead it looked like the body just faded into the world. Two small arms protruded from its body, and formed into tiny paws.

The light green color continued up it's neck and jaw, but gave way to a darker green/blue on the other parts of it's head. The head was triangular in shape, and had two horns protruding from it. The tips of the horns were yellow, as were it's eyes. Although it's skin faded in and out of the world, it had the tell tale scales of a dragon on its body.

A dreepy. Ghost and dragon type pseudo-legendary.

I knew what was happening immediately.

No.

Hashi thought this was Tsunade reborn.

Hashi held the dreepy out to me. My mind flashed to her death. It was the same mannerism. His massive palms held Tsunade's broken body for a moment, before I saw the dreepy again.

"No!" I said without thinking and stepping back. "It's not her Hashi!"

Tears formed in my eyes, and I had to look away. A hand gripped my heart, as strong as anything had ever touched me.

Madara sat in front of me on the beach, looking at me. Minato beside him, with a hand over Madara's head, petting him.

I heard the tell-tale sign of a bear grunting, and then sitting down. Asuma was sitting beside Hashi now.

Shika's horn bumped my head.

Tobi's head breached the water of the ocean, and looked in our direction.

All of my pokemon were here. This was a set up. Minato had given me false images as to what was happening.

"Brak!" The dreepy barked at me again. This time it floated in front of my vision. It tilted it's head as it looked at me. Then it zipped around my form as I tried to stop the tear sliding down my cheek.

I couldn't help but watch the dreepy float around. I lashed out, I couldn't help it. I pushed it away from me.

A massive hand grabbed my shoulder.

"Hari…" Hashi's tone was mournful, and cut into me.

Madara barked at me as he stood up. His face was the same one he had given Clair's dragonite. He pawed at the ground in between us berating me.

I had no choice in this. My team had made the decision for me.

An overwhelming portion of my mind told me to talk some sense into my team. I had a rule. One-tier evolutionary lines. Everyone but Shika fit that bill.

Dreepy was a pseudo-legendary pokemon. It evolved twice, into a dragapult eventually. It went against what I told myself I would do.

"She's been here for a week." My father's voice sounded out behind me.

I refused to turn around, to let him see me crying. I couldn't respond either, or he would hear it in my voice. Brody apparently didn't need me to respond.

"They normally seek out their kind over the seas you know? I looked it up. Galar has spent a lot of time researching them, as rare as they are. This one stayed here, even when I came to chase it away. I knew you wouldn't accept it, son." Brody continued. "I tried to spare you this pain."

Another tear fell. Somehow his words made it hurt even more.

"Look at me." My father's voice was beside my ear now.

"Cccchhhaaannndddd." The haunting voice touched my ear. It was a deep voice.

I turned to the pokemon, on instinct. The pokemon looked like a chandelier, only it didn't. It faded in and out of the world, as did the fire on each of it's candle sticks.

Chandelure.

"After Blaziken went berserk, it came to me as a litwick. I was so drunk I thought I was hallucinating. It pulled me back from that place, son. Nothing could replace my starter, but this is his legacy. It's the same with that dreepy. Your team has accepted it, as mine did. The choice is up to you." Brody told me.

Almost immediately, his presence disappeared from behind me, as did the chandalure's presence.

I had never seen that pokemon before. Never had my father revealed it to me.

My mind searched for an excuse not to accept the ghost type pokemon flying around me. I didn't have the carry limit.

Yes you do. Surge told you that your limit would increase to eight immediately.

No other reasons to deny the dreepy popped up, so I looked to my pokemon. I sent a simple question to each one of them.

Hashi went first. He slapped his chest, right over his heart and nodded his head. "Hariyama." He said in acceptance.

That was the only one I needed, to be completely honest. He took Tsunade's loss the hardest. He blamed himself for so long, trained so hard to avoid it again. He had been successful too.

I turned to Minato.

Yes.

Madara? He barked at me and then howled into the air.

"AAAbbbbsooooool." Shika said and nodded towards me.

Asuma was already moving towards the dreepy floating around my form sniffing me. He did the same to the ghost, and after a moment let out a grunt before falling on his ass.

The dreepy floated up to him curious about him too. Her attention turned to him and she began zipping around his form.

I turned to my last team member floating in the water of the ocean. Tobi's eyes met mine and he lifted his head to the sky, and let out a roar that rattled my bones before turning around and diving back into the ocean.

The dreepy zipped over my shoulder. "Brak!" It let out another bark toward Tobi. Maybe she felt the latent dragon energy in him, and saw a connection. Or maybe it was just the roar.

I grabbed an empty pokeball on my waist. My beld had already been upgraded, and I had already placed empty balls there. I did it to look more intimidating. Now it just seemed like I knew what was coming, even if I didn't realize it.

The pokeball sucked the dreepy inside. I let it fall to the ground where it wiggled.

Once.

A part of me wanted it to escape, to give me another reason to deny it a spot on the roster.

It wiggled a second time on the ground.

The other part of me wanted it to stay in the ball. My team had already accepted it. Her, if my father was to be believed. I couldn't deny my team.

'Click'

Successful capture.

"Welcome to the team."

"What can I do for you, Brawly?"

"Reporting for duty, sir!" I told my superior officer.

The man stood at about six foot six, with pale blonde hair. A few strands of white ran through his spiky hair, showing he wasn't as young as his face portrayed.

"Done with your vacation, boy?" Lt. Surge said as he approached me.

"If you call studying for two weeks straight about Ace Trainer protocol a vacation, then yes sir." I answered him.

"Good. You'll report to Daisy, as if I had any other choice for your talents. She'll show you the ropes. Go with every call for a couple of weeks, and we can talk again. Dismissed."

"Yes, sir." I answered and gave the mental command.

The world twisted, and soon I was standing on Professor Oak's back yard. It was fairly early in the day, and yet the old professor sat on his back porch finishing up his coffee with his granddaughter.

"Good morning." I told the two of them as my hands went to release the rest of my pokemon.

"Long time no see." Oak said as he began to stand up. "We have work to do."

At the end, I released my newest member.

"Brak!" She greeted me as she entered the world.

Tobirama jumped into the air behind me, and started to fly around over the pastures, heading towards his lake. Madara immediately got tackled by his father, and they disappeared somewhere.

The rest of my pokemon hung around the yard.

Daisy stared at the little pokemon floating around my shoulder area for a moment. "What the fuck is that thing?"

Professor Oak ignored her language and looked at me with an incredulous look. "Maybe we should catch up a bit, yeah?"

"Sakura? Like the tree?" Daisy said as she poked the dreepy floating around her.

"I know, I know, it looks nothing like the tree." I said knowing they wouldn't see the significance of the name.

"That's a shiny." Professor Oak said. It was probably the fifth time he said that in a row.

"Yes gramps, can we get past that?" Daisy said, trying to break Oak out of his daze.

Oak continued to stare at my dreepy, Sakura. I chose the name because Tsunade taught Sakura in the series, and she wound up surpassing Tsunade. Somehow, that seemed to fit the situation of my dreepy. I didn't care if there wasn't a pink part on its body. The yellow was even more proof to me that it was Tsunade reborn. I knew it was a completely different pokemon with a different pokemon. But I couldn't help but see the signs that it was more than that.

"What about the league?" Daisy said, getting to what they really wanted to talk about.

"Before you answer that, just know that I was already on my way before the match ended. Brody called me before I could leave, and told me that he wanted to handle it." Oak said, cutting in before I could answer.

"I know professor, and I appreciate it. We're waiting on our lawyers right now, but we already have a few offers from the league." I answered them.

"They want it to fade away?" Oak asked. "Who are they trying to pin it on?"

"Team Rocket." I answered. "There is a hefty sum of money to go along with it. It's hush money, that's all there is to it." I told them.

"Of course, the league has a reputation to keep, as does Blackthorn. Did they tell you if the Clan Master approved it?" Oak asked. He wanted to know if Clair was really in on it or not.

"No they didn't, but with the offers the league is giving, I'm positive they were in on it too. Morty and Agatha's alibi was too convenient." I answered him.

"They're making her retire." Oak commented. "Got a call from her yesterday." Oak said. "It was hers. Morty's isn't skilled enough yet."

Oak looked a little downcast about that. I could guess why. Very few people from his days as champion and trainer were still around. I knew him and Agatha still had a good relationship. And with an elite four level trainer having a gengar for so long. There was no telling what the league would do now.

"Who's getting it?" Daisy asked curiously. "Sabrina?"

Oak shook his head. "No, I think it's the number one." Oak answered.

"Karen?" Daisy asked. "Arceus… She's strong enough, that's for sure. Her houndoom is a monster."

We fell into a silence then. It had been a long time since Agatha wasnt a part of the Elite Four. With her latest failed assignment, it looked like the league was sending her to retirement. She would have to make herself valuable to them, or she would probably die soon. Maybe that's why Oak was a little downcast. He knew that fact all too well.

"You gonna take it all the way?" Professor Oak asked me.

I knew he wanted to know if I would oust the league. Even if they ran a counter story, their reputation would be so damaged it wouldn't matter. To actually interfere in a league sanctioned match like that? There would be outrage from trainers.

The other regions would see a spike in trainer region transfer requests, no doubt. That meant less revenue. They might even demand the hierarchy get changed.

"I'm not sure." I told him truthfully.

I had been smacked around by the league so often that I wanted to pull the trigger and contact the major media outlets. But there was a part of me that held back.

"You haven't had the normal experience with the league, Brawly." Oak began. I knew he was about to go on a spiel about it. "Most trainers never get put in the positions we have. They leave their parents, travel the world for a few years if they're lucky, raise a couple of pokemon, and then find a job at Silph, or a gym. They don't get to see the darker side of the league. Most never even find out about Team Rocket, or Magma, or whoever decides to step outside the law. The league protects them from that, and they like it that way. Maybe it's best not to shatter that view."

I thought about that for a moment and wondered if Red and Gary were having near the amount of problems that I had in the past. Something told me they were protected under Oak's massive shadow. I knew his protection followed them wherever they went. And they were Kanto natives.

Oak was right about that too. It was something that I had deduced myself. Nobody got put in the same positions I did. Nobody had my knowledge or skill either, well most people didn't anyway. I was sitting across from two people who could give me a run for my money.

"Even I haven't had the troubles you have." Daisy said, giving me another perspective. "Most of my trouble has been from this old coot!" She continued as she jabbed a thumb at her grandfather. "But I took my time to get here, you've broken all the speed records."

"Not all of them." I said, correcting her.

"But I will."

A/N: Boom!

So I am a liar. You can all freely call me a liar, and you will be right. I don't know why I promise you guys one thing, early on in the story, and then it changes half way through. I am breaking a fundamental aspect about writing, and I am sorry.

We have a pseudo-legendary. Even though we were not supposed to get anywhere close to that.

But I've told you guys many many times, the story writes itself. It's like I'm reading a story in my mind, and my hands record it on paper. So just know, that I know of my flaws all too well and don't hurt me too badly in the reviews.

What do we think about it? Do we hate the edition to the team? Do we love it?

What about Brawly's mother and her beefy ass team? She could easily become a monster trainer in the future. Maybe she'll ask her son for tips. As if her husband couldn't provide enough for a lifetime.

Let's talk in the reviews!
