"EVERYONE LISTEN!!! YOU MUST HURRY TO WATERFALL!" Numerous sounds of monsters overlade each other as panic and confusion befall the citizen of Snowdin. "PLEASE HELP THOSE AROUND YOU! MAKE SURE NO ONE IS LEFT BEHIND!!" The adults hurriedly gathered their children as fear started to set amongst the chaos. "HURRY, THE HUMAN IS COMING!!"
Moments before, Papyrus had stood all alone in the middle of Snowdin forest with only your warning echoing through his mind. Alone in the quiet snow a mysterious fear seeped through his bones as shattered memories replaced your voice. Memories of dust covered gloves, sounds of bones shattering and the stretched out smile that left him painfully cold. A sharp pain asulted his mind as that smile lingered. Clenching his skull with his gloved hands, he tried to fight through the pain. Eyesockets wide with fear, he saw glimpse of a yellow and orange titled room. His brother's blue sweater hugged his quaking body as he stood before a small human wearing a green and yellow stripped shirt. Their body covered in dust and their smile stretched wide enough that it almost reached their eyes filled with madness.
The memories vanished quickly along with the pain. The world spunned around the tall skeleton, his soul beating stronger and brighter. Sounds of someone walking through snow appeared behind him. "Hey Papyrus, you frozen are something? Ha... ha... you get it? Hey who's that?" Another set of footsteps stumbled through the snow. Looking up, he tightened his gloved fist and stood between the new encounter and Snowdrake.
"Heh...heh heheheheheh..." the new encounter dragged out a tired sigh, "What a scary expression you have there. What's wrong? Aren't you going to bore me with your puzzles?" The haggard and disheveled human that stood before him had a striking resemblance to you. Even with your Souless ghostly appearance, your face failed to look close to the demented evil that oozed from the human that had stolen your body. The human snickered before putting their attention to the confused monster that stood behind Papyrus. But before they could make their move, you materialized in front of them which stopped them for a second. Taking that as his cue, Papyrus summoned a wall of bones in front of him and quickly picked up Snowdrake. Running as quickly as he can, he dashed away.
Wasting no time, Papyrus called the Royal Guards of Snowdin; informing them to evacuate all monsters from the forest. Normally they would not have listen to him but hearing the urgency in his voice, was enough to rile them up. Reaching the town, Papyrus placed Snowdrake down and warned him to tell everyone to leave the town. Aware of the chance that no one would listen to him, he rushed back to his makeshift sentry post. On his way, he received numerous calls from the guards wanting an explanation on what was going on which he ignored. For if he told them that it was the sole reason that a human was making their way to the town, they would only try to face the human themselves.
Reaching his station, he went to the back and reached for the hidden camera. "DR. ALPHYS, I CAN ONLY HOPE THAT YOU ARE SEEING THIS BUT I NEED YOU TO SOUND THE ALARM. THEY MAY JUST BE A SINGLE ORDINARY HUMAN, BUT YOU MUST NOT UNDERESTIMATE THEM! THEY WILL HUNT DOWN EVERY MONSTER! IF WE DO NOT RUN, THEN WE WILL RISK HAVING DUST IN OUR HANDS! HURRY!" Papyrus dropped the camera once he heard the human walking through the snow. Hiding behind the trees, he watched as they walked past him.
He and his brother were always different compared to other monsters. With their strange abilities and unknown origins. But as he quietly followed the human and barricaded them eveytime they confronted a wondering monster, he was glad he was different. For his unexplained speed to get to one place to another helped him rescue numerous monsters from ending up at the end of the human's blade. Back and fourth he ran, stopping Chara at every encounter as he fled carrying the unsuspected monster away to safety. Even straining his strength with carrying any other monsters he past by. Just when he thought his magic might falter, he saw the Royal Guards carrying and escorting numerous monsters back into Snowdin. Even though he was not part of the Guards, they had listened to him. He felt so grateful and relieved that he had no words.
A weight lifted from his shoulder once he finally heard the sounds of the alarm ringing throughout the town.
During the begining, Alphys stared at the screen in wonder as she saw the human flounder around. She was quite intrigued at seeing the human trip around as they argued with a figure that did not appear on camera. Of all the humans that fell down, this one was by far the most confusing one. But her focus was interrupted when Sans'es brother took hold of one of her cameras. During the brief time Sans used to work with her, he'd had asked her if she could install one of her camera's at his makeshift sentry station. She didn't see any reason at first to do so, but at this very moment it seemed she made the right call.
Sounding the alarm, the monsters of Snowdin followed the guide of the Guards as they rushed into Waterfall. Their panic scream fell into the ears of the Guard leader Undyne. As quickly as her armor would let her, she ran towards the upcoming crowd. "Hey! What the hell is going on! HEY!!" The crowds fear of the unknown left them unable to answer the fish warrior. Grabbing one of the Guard Dog that was helping lead the crowd, she demanded to know what was happening but all he said was to ask Papurus. That the tall skeleton in question had riled up the dogs enough to flee from their post and help cause the current chaos?! Undyne couldn't believe it.
She made her way to Snowdin through the crowd. Entering the now abandon town, she spotted Papyrus standing in the middle of it with a weapon on hand. "Papyrus!? PAPYRUS! What the hell is going on!"
"UNDYNE!? WHAT ARE YOU DOING HERE?!"
"What do you think! I was literally about to be trampled down by a swarm of fleeing monsters! Did you do this AND WHAT THE HELL IS WITH THE ALARM! Papyrus are you even listening to me!? JUST WHAT THE HELL IS GOING ON! Cause if you don't have a good reason-"
"IT'S A HUMAN!"
"A HUMAN!? Godamit Paps! You know what we do with humans! Which does not involve sounding the alarm!!!"
"B-BUT-" Before Papyrus could voice his concern, Undyne had spotted the human. Her eye beamed brightly, smirking she pushed Papyrus behind her and faced the human.
"So, you're the human that caused all this commotion. Heh... six, six human souls. That is how many we have gathered. Seven, seven human souls. That is how many we need to change our world!"
Standing behind Undyne as she spoke to the human, he could feel the unbearably uncomfortable feeling of the intent to kill radiating off of the human. Even though he didn't need to breath, he could feel himself choking under the weight of it all.
《Papyrus...》Your voice brough a chill through his spine, snapping him from the crushing weight he was under.
FRISK? WHERE-
Spinning around he quickly frozed as his eyesockets widen for your face was literally 5 inches away from his face. You just stared for a moment before smiling at him.
HUMAN! WHAT DID I TELL YOU ABOUT-
《Papyrus... you better think of something quick...or-》 Papyrus couldn't finish hearing what you had said as he stared into your pitch black eyes. Darkness that faded to show him shattered images of events. The inconsistency of the images as they flashed before him left a deafening ringing through his skull that soon turn into overlaying voices.. Trying to see what you wanted to tell him, he fought through the pain.
No...s-somehow, with just one bit...I'm already ... D... dammit... Papyrus... Alphys... Asgore... I've failed you.
I UNDYNE, will strike you down!! Everyone's hopes. Everyone's dream vanquished in an instant!! But I won't let you! Damn... so even THAT power wasn't enough...
In a snap, the visions before him vanished as you had fazed through him. His soul shook painfully cold, leaving him gasping in the cold air. Hearing the human take their first step towards Undyne, Papyrus' body sprang forward. He quickly summoned a wall of bones around the human before hauling Undyne over his shoulder and dashing towards the top of the buildings. "PAPYRUS!!! WHAT the hell!! Why did you stop me- AND HOW DID YOU GET ALL THE WAY UP HERE!!!!" Ignoring her shouts, Papyrus glanced back at the human. They haven't moved from their entrapment but he did see you standing near them. Your lips forming words before disappearing.
Sliding across the last building, his hand gripped the ledge before he could pummel down letting him safely slip down. "Besides how fricking COOL that was, mind telling me what the hell you where thinking!?"
"I'M SORRY UNDYNE BUT YOU WOULDN'T BELIEVE ME."
"Try me! Oh hey... what happened to your scarf?"
Even when the bones disappeared, Chara still didn't move from their spot. Even without your soul, without a body no less... you still so determined to stop them. "Heh...heh heh... Heh heh heh heh... AHA HA HAH HAH-" inhaling deeply Chara abruptly stopped their manic laughter as they dragged their hand across their face. This whole thing was getting on their last nerve. Finding the small yellow star that appeared in the middle of town, Chara placed their hand on top of it.
3 left
Before they could let that message irritate them, Chara spotted a very familiar red scarf stuck on the side of the Gryftmas tree. "Heh..." Pulling it free, they let the scarf drag behind them as they made their way towards a particular house that was lit by decorative holiday lights.
The sounds of panicking townfolks dying off stirred Sans from his spot on the floor where he was currently curled on. His eyesockets opened slowly, letting his vision clear as he spotted a pair of shoes floating a couple of inches off the ground. Focusing on them, being the owner of said shoes you layed yourself down as you faced Sans. His eyelights wavered as he stared at your cold dead face. You gently placed your hand on top of his cheekbone, letting the coldness settle on him before quickly grabbing his jacket.
《Run》
Seeing his eyelights react to your word, you quickly lifted him up and pulled him towards you as you fazed through his door at full force. The door crashed wide open hitting someone on the other side before Sans found his body slipping out of his jacket. His body flew over the banister and onto the green couch in the living room. Soul pounding, he quickly got up in time to see Chara scrambling from underneath the broken door.
"Hello...comedian- ngh-it's good to see you... heh..." they started to cackle as Sans eyelights darted towards the red scarf. Seeing the fabric laying limp in their grasp snapped him out off his stupor. His phalanges grip tighten over the couch cushion before he launched himself forward. Caught off guard by his sudden advance, Sans shortcutted behind Chara. Quickly, he placed his hand on their back and summoned an array of small quick bones through their body. Not having the chance to brace themselves, Chara stumbled over the banister. Taking his chance, he grabbed his brother's scarf from their grasp before raising his hand towards the falling human. Before Chara could hit the floor, he summoned a blaster and hit them at full force before shortcutting back to the first floor.
Body singed by the blast, Chara got up from the floor and tighten their grip on their knife. Sans stood in front of his Tv, his smile pulled into a tight grin as his left eyelight pulsed with magic. Chara launched themselves at him with a a swing of their knife. Sans dodged their attack by shortcutting behind them and launching a couple bones at them. Chara only managed to turn around before finding themselves pinned against the T.v. screen. Electricity sparked around them as shattered blacl glass littered their back.
"What... no witty remarks?" Chara grunted as they looked up at him. "Aw Sans, what's wrong? Don't tell me your not happy to see your precious girlfriend?" Sans' s eyelight flickered furiously at the word. "Cause pinning me against your screen is defiantly not the way to treat someone you love...right... Sansy-"
"you're not her!!!" Summoning three blasters he blasted Chara's body through the wall and into the kitchen' s drywall. When the blast subsided, Chara clawed themselves out from the rubble only to find that they were all alone. Shortcutting outside of his home, Sans gripped tighten over the red fabric in his hand as his bones creaked from the strain. Body shaking he let out a rage filled scream that belowed throughout the town of Snowdin.
"SANS?" Papyrus looked away from Undyne to face towards where his brother's scream sounded from. While worry for his brother's well being creeped throughout his body, Undyne was out of her armor with the look of shock on her face. Everything that Papyrus had told her was crazy! It didn't make any sense! She knew humans where freaking strong even if she never had a chance to fight one head on... but still! Genocidal humans? Creepy human ghosts? Worst of all, she had died and she had failed to protect anyone. If someone else had told her all this, she wouldn't believe them but it was Papyrus. He never lied about anything! Even if he tried it wasn't a convincing one.
Not liking the silence that followed his brother's scream, he grabbed Undyne and hauled her shocked body over his shoulder. Jumping straight upward from between the building they where hiding from, he hovered up in the air as he scanned over the town. Spotting his house, he started running through the air. "How are you DOING THIS!!?" Flipping before landing, he dropped Undyne's body as he rushed into his home.
"SANS?! SANS??!!" His eyelights wavered as he stood frozen in fear. His sight couldn't focus as it kept jumping from one wreaked spot to another. Shards of glass scattered around the floor, there was a large hole through his living room that went through the kitchen. But what shook him more was the broken second floor banister. The railing was in pieces, his brother's door was hanging by it's hinges and worst of all was the blue jacket that hung between the pieces of wood.
"Papyrus? Wha- shit! WHAT the hell happened here?" Feeling Undyne's cold hand on his radius helped him focus. It helped him walk forward. His eyelights focousd on the jacket as he stumbled through the wreckage. His boots crushing through the small shards of glass and wood chipping as his arm stretched forward. Pulling down the hanging jacket, immediately his hands started to quake. His vision blurred while he gently ran his phalange across the old fabric. Papyrus could feel what was left of his brother's magic crackling around the air. Soul quivering, he feared his legs would give out at any moment. Until he saw the cold dead slender fingertips on top of the jacket. Fingers that slowly got closer to his own.
Papyrus looked up towards your smiling face. Something deep inside your core shifted at the sight before you. Raising your hand ever so gently as to not shake the tall quaking skeleton, you placed your hand upon his cheekbone. He let the stiff coldness seep into his bone, pulling his mind away from shattering his own soul from the grief.
《He's safe》
Two simple words was all it took to let his tears fall freely. Before you could react, his arms went around your small dead frame, picking you up in a bone crushing hug. With one gloved hand, he held your head close to his chest as his skull nestled at the base of your neck. The other arm wrapped itself around your waist, pressing you closer to him. Being hugged so tightly once more, your corpse like body could feel the subtle pulse of a soul. While Sans's was filled with pain and desperation almost to the point of trying to pull at something that no longer existed, Papyrus's was softer. A gentle breeze that washed over you in relief.
You felt something else. Just like with Sans, there was a very small shard of light that sparked inside you where your soul used to reside in. The small spark that let you know how Sans felt about you, there was also one of Papyrus. Whatever these sparks where, they kept you from disappearing completely. Looking up, a random thought acquired to you; that you never seen Papurus without his scarf. That there was a faint scar on his neck. Before you could think about it, you heard a crackle of magic. Quickly looking to the side, you could see Undyne had summoned a spear.
Her eye wavered as her body shook in fear. Having also sensed the attempts of Undyne trying to pull your souless body into an encounter, Papyrus pushed you behind him. "UNDYNE WAIT!"
"WAIT?! Why should I wait when the human is right there!!"
"IT'S FRISK!! SHE'S MY... MY BEST FRIEND...right?" Even though his words fell incredible quite, you where still able to hear him.
《Yes, the bestest of friends.》
A small dust of orange colored his cheeks as he faced Undyne, who looked baffled as she continued to look back and forth between you and Papyrus. "You said she was some creepy ghost thing!" While she had hid in the alleyway with Papyrus, she had called Alphys to ask if anything that Papyrus had told her was possible. All she got out of the conversation was that there was a human trying to hunt down any near by monsters. Emphases on the word try for if it wasn't Papyrus stopping them then it was something that the cameras couldn't pick up.
《You can see me?》
Undyne shivered as she saw your face smile and black ooze started to drip from your dark black orbs where your eyes used to be. "Thought Papyrus cracked when he started hugging his bro's jacket like that but then you just popped out of nowhere." Undyne had wanted to comfort the gentle skeleton but seeing a small white spark near him had stopped her advances. The spark resonated with his soul which spread through out what she could only guess was a body in his arms. When the spark died down, there you where... a dark pale figure covered in dirt and dust. The smell of old soil and sweet rot filled her nose that only brought Undyne to the edge of freaking out.
A shivering coldness creeped onto her, snapping her back to the present only to find herself stumbling back as your face appeared in front of her. 《Heeeh...》your smile spread as more black goo dripped from your lips. Undyne's blue scale turned pale as Papyrus pulled you away from her.
"HUMAN WHAT HAVE I TOLD YOU?" Smiling instead of answering him, he started cleaning your face once more. "SORRY ABOUT THAT UNDYNE. SHE DIDN'T MEAN TO SCARE YOU."
《I didn't?》
"NO YOU DID NOT! SOMETIMES I REALLY BELIEVE THAT YOUR TRYING TO BE CREEPY."
《I wasn't?》
"NYEEEEH!!!" Undyne could slowly feel the tension in her body dissipate at the sight of Papyrus's eyes bugging out as he continued to banter with you. Everything was a huge mess which she couldn't even begin to think on where to tackle it first. She brought her webbed hand across her face with a sigh. To keep herself from feeling so lost, she reminded herself that all she had to do was keep everyone safe. Should be easy enough. "UNDYNE ARE YOU READY?"
"Huh?" Looking up she saw Papyrus wearing his brother's jacket facing her with your slumped body tucked under his arm. "W-what?"
"WEREN'T YOU LISTENING?"
"Sorry Paps but thi-this whole thing is so... so messed up! I still can't put my head around it!"
"THAT'S OKAY! I AND MY I-DON'T-WAN'T-TO-METION-IS-DEAD DEAD BEST FRIEND HAVE JUST DEVISED A GREAT PLAN!"
"Yeah? Well let's hear it!"
"RIGHT! FIRST OFF, WE MUST REMEMBER THAT THE HUMAN (WHO IS NOT FRISK) IS IN FRISK'S BODY."
"...Right."
"ALL WE HAVE TO DO IS GET HER BACK INTO HER BODY, PUSHING THE HUMAN WHO-IS-NOT-FRISK-"
《Their name is Chara》
"OH YES! CHARA WHO IS NOT FRISK, OUT OF THE BODY IN WHICH THEY CAN'T HURT ANYONE AND WE CAN FINALLY TALK TO THEM INTO CHANGING THEIR MIND FROM TRYING TO KILL US! THEN WE CAN ALL BE FRIENDS! NYHE-HEH-HEH!"
"Great-but how are we doing that?"
"YES WELL... HU-FRISK SAID THAT SHE FELT STRONGER! (SOMETHING ABOUT MAKING HER GHOSTLY BODY MORE SOLID THEN SHE COULD BEFORE.) SO ALL WE HAVE TO DO IS WEAKEN THE BODY SNATCHER ENOUGH WITH OUR ATTACK PUZZLES TO GIVE FRISK THE ADVANTAGE SHE NEEDS TO CLAIM HER BODY BACK!"
"Attack the human until they give up? GREAT! Now that's what I call a plan! Fuh-huh-huh-huh!!!!" With everyone in on the main plan, the small group left the small home only to stop abruptly. Standing but a few feet away from the house was the human. Clothes in shambles and body littered in bruises, Chara's eyes brighten as their smile stretched.
Undyne couldn't react in time with Chara's disturbed cackle throwing her off before she found herself in the line of sight of Chara's attack. The human had launched themselves at her with a knife that glowed red with the intent to kill. "NYHEEEEEEEHH!!!!" Papyrus shouted as he launched your body at Chara. You grabbed hold of them as you both tumbled away from Undyne. Landing on top of the murderous human, your smile and black orbs for eyes leaked black goo. They took their knife and swung it at your body before anymore of the black sludge could stained Chara's flesh. Your body poof in to the air in a dust of dirt and ember.
While Chara was busy getting up, Undyne and Papyrus stood at either side of them, weapon on hand. Chara started laughing at the display, laughter that turned into desperation ending in frustration before launching towards Papyrus. The tall skeleton braced himself for the attack. But the attack never landed on him as you had appeared in front of him. Chara's blade was stuck to your torso like compacted soil. Busy with try to remove the blade, Undyne spinned her spear before launching it at Chara. The attack hitting you both caused you to poof away once more while Chara's soul was pulled out of their body, turning green. Chara tried to stumble away but their soul trapped them in the spot.
Trapped, Undyne summoned an array of spears before launching them at Chara. "This same old trick isn't going to work!" They sneered as they slashed every spear with their knife. Just when they thought it was going to be the same song and dance; a large bone rammed at them, knocking the air out of them before falling to the floor. Turning around, they saw Papyrus had summoned rows of bones in which were heading right for them. Chara tried cutting them away but their knife couldn't cut through the more dense attack. Hurting themselves in the process, they failed to cut the spears aimed at their back.
Being knocked around from the bones they couldn't dodge fast enough without leaving their spot and Undyne taking the advance in aiming them with their spear while they where down, Chara felt themselves driven to a tight corner. Just gotta hang in a little longer... Just a... little... longer... and... They heard a small ping as their soul turned back to red. Before Undyne could try to turn their soul back to green again, Chara went after her. Undyne put up their spear up, blocking Chara's knife attack. But with every swing, Undyne's weapon started to shatter.
Before it could break, a barrage of bones hit Chara on the side, pushing them away from Undyne. Gathering their bearings, Chara flipped over a row of bones before dodging them quickly to reach Papyrus. Seeing the human head for him, he summoned thinner and taller bones. Glowing blue, Chara knew better then to try to hit them, so they tried rolling away only to see that Papyrus had summoned them around them. At a last attempt, Chara launched themselves off the ground, aiming their knife at Papyrus. But the bones got to them before Chara could even get close. Soul turning blue, their whole body slammed towards the ground.
Struggling to stand, Chara gritted their teeth as they made their way towards Papyrus in a slow trudge before gaining speed. But a row of spears spiked in front of them. Rows of rows kept appearing from the ground, backing them away from the tall skeleton. Using whatever strength was left of their legs, Chara jumped over Undyne before she could attack them from behind. Knowing that the jump would only drag them quickly back down to the ground from the blue magic, Chara made sure they landed ready to aim Undyne's back. What Chara didn't expect as they landed behind the blue scaled captain was the mouth of a large blaster facing them. A blaster had pushed Undyne away while the other one faced Chara down. The large skull with glowing orange eyes glared at them as a faint orange light continue to grow from it's wide jaw. The tattered human tried to roll away before it could blast it's attack on them but Undyne had launched another attack on them, turning their soul green once more.
Even without the heaviness of the blue magic on them, Chara couldn't defend themselves as the blast from the blaster ingulfed their whole body. Their body couldn't even be launched away from the blast because of the green magic keeping them still at the same spot. Forcing them to receive the full damage of the blast. HP dwindled to the last point of shattering, you took that chance to appear behind Chara. You wrapped an arm around their shoulder and another around their waist, securing them from attempting to fight your friends once more. Smiling at the tired duo, you gave them a small nod before telling them to go. In the off chance that you where unable to take back your soul and body, you had told Papyrus to take Undyne and to hide with the other monsters. He'd had refused to leave you alone but you'd said that you would be right behind them.
It was a lie of course. You had no plans to follow them to wherever the hidden area of underground was where they were all hiding in. No... You couldn't take the off chance that once merging back into your body Chara would also learn of it. Seeing your dear friends one last time, you let your corpse like body sink into the ground, dragging Chara with you. Their shriek echoed out as they where determined to claw themselves from sinking any further into the ground. Unfortunately for them, the two sparks of light that flickered through your body gave you more strength then what their battered body could reproduce. Papyrus stood still as he continued to look at the spot where you and the human had disappeared from. He knew he should start moving but he couldn't. He had no clue where his brother was and now you were all alone with a murderous human.
"Come on Paps! We gotta go!!" Undyne dragged Papyrus away towards Hotland where Alphys was carting the monsters away to safety.
Darkness, the smell of dirt and the shrill of Chara's scream dying out was the first thing you noticed. A large pulse banged inside your chest was the second thing you noticed followed by the warmth of blood slowly being pumped through out your body. The sound of your heart beating against your ears and the feel of the cold snow soaking your clothes was the next thing you felt as you stared at the cave ceiling. Another hard pulse spread from your chest through out your body causing you to jolt up. Coughing at the ach of reusing your lungs once more left your throat burning as you tried to breath in. Hands quaking in front you as you continued to wheeze was when it finally hit you; that you where once again back inside your own body.
{AAAAHHHHH!!! FRISK!!!! LET ME OUT!!! LET ME OUT LET ME OUT LET ME OUT LET ME OUT!!!!!}
You staggered around the snow, trying to regain your balance as Chara's voice continued to ring inside your head.
{Frisk!!! Don't you get it!!! You need me!!! Why did you stop me!!! You know how much we need-}
We don't need to hurt anyone!
Your heart weaped as you leaned against the colorful lit house. You didn't want to hurt anyone. All you wanted was to finish this whole thing.
{Don't be stupid! You know killing everyone here quickly is better then what's waiting for them out there!!! Don't you get it!? Those humans took everything from us!!!! A-and you want to put them through that!}
They're stronger than you think!
Stumbling into the shattered house, you made your way up the stairs. Your soul pulsing stronger along with your beating heart.
{They're not!!! Frisk, please!!! Monsters get attached to quickly... th-they're to fucking trusting!! Just please let me out and it all!! That way we can finally make the human pay for what they did to us!... what they did to them... Frisk... FRISK! LISTEN TO ME!!!}
Monsters are strong because they are kind! Monsters are not weak because they choose to trust! I have hope that humans can see that! I'm determined to see that! Determined to make their wish come true because they deserve it!
Reaching the room with the broken door, you let your newly acquired body slump at the edge of the old mattress.
{YOUR NOT LISTENING!!! IF A CHILD COULD KILL THEM ALL OFF THEN WHAT CHANCE DO THEY HAVE AGAINST A WHOLE WORLD OF DISGUSTING HUMANS!!!! They will never accept them! They'll... never love them... Frisk... please...}
How do you know? Just as there hateful humans, there are those who are strong enough to see past that fear. How do you know? For every human who might harm them there might another who would save them? Not just because they are "nice" but because the monsters could save them too... Just like they saved me? ...Just like they saved you?
Looking down onto your lap rested a blade that lost it's red color at the moment you had awakened. Firmly grasping the knife handle, you turned the blade towards your body.
{Fisk! Stop! We still have time!!! You don't have to do this!! Frisk! Listen to me!!!! Dont do it!!!!}
Closing your eyes, you plunge the blade into your heart. Unlike all the times you had lost a fight against a monster, you did not hear your soul shatter. Instead you heard your once strong beating heart start to lose it's steady rhythm. Monster's attack had always hurt... But unlike a human's attack, monster's attack was always felt deep inside where no human weapon can reach. But the blade piercing through your flesh, grazing against your ribs before reaching it targeted organ was a feeling you where familiar with. No pain whatsoever, just the sensation of cold metal entering your body. Time and time again, humans had harmed your body until the nerve's signals finally decided to severe itself from your brain. The "doctors" called it a successful congenital insensitivity test. Falling back onto the bed, your hand still rested on the blade as your heart beat ever so slowly started to fade. Chara's scream faded as your vision darkened. With the last bit of determination in you, you pulled the knife out. The thump of the blade on top of carpet was the last thing you heard before letting the cold darkness swallow you up.
Shortcut after shortcut, Sans traveled throughout the Underground. The scarf flowing around him as it hugged around his neck. He searched at every corner that you and the other human have ever traveled. He searched and searched but never finding anything. For what he was looking for, he wasn't sure. Be it other monsters or signs of you and the demon or even any remains of his brother. Whatever the reason, he continued to search until he couldn't anymore. Reaching back to his home in all it's distraction only hit him harder.
He was alone once again. His soul pulse so painfully against his ribcage that he had to fight to stay standing. Fight... why does he still have to fight? Why did it all matter? Why didn't he let the human kill him? Let it all end just to go through it again and again? Was it because of you? Even though you had literally lost everything, your soul and body yet there was still something left behind that wouldn't give up?
To give up...
What's the point? He couldn't protect anyone. He never could. What could a monster with just a lousy 1 count HP do? He couldn't even get up from his own problem to at least see his brother one last time. At that thought, his soul gave off one more pulse before settling into a soft sound. The sound of dust falling. Reaching his room, all he wanted was to rest and never get up, but waited for him only caused his withered soul to crack. There on his bed layed your lifeless body with a red strain on your upper left chest. "F-frisk?" He stumbled closer as his vision blurred. His arm stretched forward as it landed on your soft cheeks with trembling phalanges. This was you! The warm skin color to the dark hazel hair that fell like silk against your face. But how? A question he found he didn't care as long as you where here! Here with him!
"Frisk! c'mon kid w-wake up!" He couldn't believe it, you where back! He should be happy, relieved anything but this breaking feeling. But even so, why can he hear his soul start to shatter? "k-kid... please...d-don't do this...it's not funny..." Choking on a sob, his hands left your cheek and towards the small wound on your chest. "you've had worse wounds th-then this! Frisk! please...wake up!!"
Deep down he knew he was lying to himself. Knew that you weren't getting up. No, he could feel it. Feel that your soul longer rested inside your body. That it already shattered awhile ago along with the beating of your heart. But seeing your body, feeling what little warmth lingered inside you... he couldn't make himself believe that you were dead. All the other times when your soul shattered, the world automatically reseted.
No... right now... to him, you didn't look dead. The peaceful look on your face only told him that you where just sleeping. With heavy bones, he climbed onto his bed. Laying on his side, he gently grabbed your body. Nestling your head close to his soul, he wrapped his arms around your limp body. He curled closer to you, burying his face into your neck as he let his blue luminescence tears fall freely. As your body grew cold and stiff, it did nothing to cover the sobs that settled in the empty small home.
Sobs that turned into agonizing screams as the day continued to go on. Muffled screams that grew hoarse until he couldn't any more. Even after your cold stiff body lost it's color and the odor of decay started to linger throughout his room, he continued to hold you in his arm in the dead silence. As your body continued to decay, his soul too continued to fall. Till the very last remains of his soul, he still had hope that you would open your eyes. A fine white dust surrounded him as it slowly fills the air around you two. "Frisk...i...i love you..." he whispered out as his last bit of magic fell into a tear onto your discolored sunken cheek. Your rotting body layed on top of the mattress, covered in soft white dust and a long red scarf.
Once more the Underground had gone quite but only one monster soul was lost. Your red soul pulsed in the darkness. Determination building as you looked at the only other light source that wasn't your soul. Your hand hovered over the yellow button that glowed brighter then before. A normal reset would only bring Chara back with your own soul in their grasp. But what was read on the choice in front of you was a "full reset". One that would take you back to the top of the mountain... before you even went to the Underground... before you found the group of monsters that saved you in more ways you could ever imagine. With a small smile on your face, you pressed the button.
Everyone I'm coming back... and I'll free everyone!
You where determined to see the happily ever after that Flowey once mentioned. Not yours but that of all the monsters trapped Underground. Because you, Frisk, where determined.
