Answering the Call (AU)
A/N: Hello again. I'm not going to give excuses just this lovely prompt lol. This is based on the song Answer The Call (and all the Tik Toks I watched lol). During these times I know everything can seem scary so please enjoy this one shot. I'm going to try and write more as I do have a lot more time on my hands.
Emma's POV
"911, what's your emergency?"
"Yes, I would like to order a pizza please," I say through sobs, trying to remain calm so he doesn't hear me.
"Ma'am, you do know you reached 911," the lady on the other end tells me.
I can see him from the corner of my eye, watching me. "I know, can you just say how long."
"Ma'am," the lady starts, "is everything okay?"
"No, it's 413 Maple Way," I say hoping she finally understands what I'm trying to say.
"Is there someone in the room with you that you can't talk about?"
Thank God, she finally got it, "Yes sir, pepperoni please, how long can it be now?" I ask as he starts to get closer to me.
"I've an officer less than a mile away, ma'am, can you stay on the line with me?" she asks.
He's right in front of me now so I say, "No thanks, I'll see you soon. I'll turn on my porch light." I hung up the phone just as he took it out of my hands.
"You better not have said anything," he growls.
"No sir," I answer. "I'm going to turn on the porch light."
Killian's POV
"Dispatch to 815, come in 815."
I grab the radio off the dash as I continue to drive. "This is 815, go ahead dispatch."
"Urgent call from 413 Maple Way. ETA?"
Luckily, I was just a block down the road, "Less than 7 minutes," I reply and placed the radio back on the dash.
I turned on the siren and lights as I made my way over to the address dispatch just gave me. The streets were quiet but as I turned onto Maple Way, I noticed that only one house had the porch light on, 413 Maple Way.
I pull up on the side and made my way to the door. I could hear screaming coming inside so I didn't bother in knocking and kicked down the door. The scene in front of me made my blood boil. Some idiot was standing over a woman, knuckles bloodied, and the woman was in tears.
I ran towards the bastard and tackled him to the ground. I managed to get him in handcuffs and sat him against the wall. "What the hell?" I growled. "Are you some type of animal that gets a kick out of hurting women?"
"She's nothing but a whore," he smirks. "So she deserved everything she got from me."
I could feel my blood boil and my anger rising with every word. Just my luck another officer walked into the house. I walked away from the asshole, letting the other officer take charge, while I made my way over to the woman.
"Are you okay?" I asked as I approached her. She flinched away from my hand and I understood why. "I promise you, you're safe now. He will not get anywhere near you." She just nodded her head. "Is there anyone you want us to call?" She shook her head, "Well, they're going to take you to the hospital to make sure you're okay,"
I started to walk away when I hear her yell, "Please don't leave me!" I turn around and saw that there were fresh tears streaming down her face. "Please! Just please don't leave me."
"I won't," I promised her. "I'll follow you to the hospital."
She nodded, "Thank you….for everything."
I smiled at her, "No man should ever put his hands on a woman. That's why I took this job. I'll always protect you." She just smiled as they loaded her up.
My promise is true. I won't let anyone ever hurt her again.
