Many a wise man in a rebellion often say that, "they are built upon nothing but Hope." Very few a man with nothing to lose will say the same thing. Many a man with rage will reply, "with Vengeance." Those opposing the rebellion will view them as forces of terror, ignoring that they themselves, have become vicious dictators.
Ruby's eyes fluttered open. Revealing new, amber eyes that had a touch of red to them. Cinder was passed out by her bedside, muttering something.
"Ru… Ruby… Please… I promised…" She muttered.
Ruby smiled softly, and cradled her Quee- Her mother's head. "It's… It's okay mom…"
The door opened slightly, and Emerald peeked her head through, "Cinder? Are you alright?" she whispered.
Ruby held up her hand, making the 'okay' sign. She paused for a moment before deciding to beckon Emerald into the room.
"How're you feeling?" The green-haired thief asked softly.
"Like I found something after years of looking for it."
"So, relieved?" Emerald guessed.
"More like, satisfied." Ruby clarified, "like, I'm really glad that I found something that I didn't even know I needed or wanted."
Emerald chuckled in a hushed manner, "I'm sure Cinder will be happy to hear that once she wakes up."
"I'm sure she will, sis." Ruby said, as she stroked her mother's hair.
"Oof!"
Ruby was caught off-guard for a brief moment, until she returned Emerald's hug.
"I always wanted a sister…" she choked out between sobs, "don't you ever give us a scare like that again!"
"Okay. I got you sis." Ruby whispered back.
Emerald's only response was to hug Ruby a little tighter, and sniffled a bit.
They sat like that for a while until Ruby finally spoke up.
"Uh, Em?"
"Yeah?"
"I need the bathroom."
Yang and Summer were busy dealing with the gargantuan warrior known as Olive.
The android was also wielding a rather large maul. Though, in Olive's large hands, it was probably more of a baton of solid steel.
*BASH!*
The ground shattered, forcing the two warriors back, and created a sizable crater in the ground.
Neither Summer or Yang noticed Ironwood sneaking out of the cave.
"You will not see the light of day again!" Olive screamed.
"It's been a long time since I last saw sunlight." Summer growled, "An eternity of not seeing it isn't exactly much of a threat."
"The underworld is nice enough. Made a small cabin there with Salem." Yang recalled.
The two Noctis fighters kept fighting the Atlas giant. Still going all out.
Olive picked up a large boulder, and threw it. While Yang was able to shatter it with a powerful punch, she got pushed against a wall. Her eyes widened as she saw Summer getting pinned to the ground by a pile of rubble and rocks.
Olive grabbed a stalactite, intent on impaling Yang from a distance. She took aim.
Yang closed her eyes tightly. Accepting her fate.
*SLASH!*
Yang's eyes shot open. Standing in front of her, was her mother. - The one who had birthed her.
"Try to attack my family again, and I will cut you so much, that the atoms in your body will split!" She growled.
"Rae?" Summer asked, looking up at her lover. She couldn't believe her eyes.
"What the hell?" Raven also stood there in disbelief. For so long, she had thought herself a widow. But Summer being there… She rubbed her eyes to make sure she wasn't hallucinating. Not like all those times before.
"Reunion later. Let's fight now!" Yang ground out.
Olive's hyper-accelerated brain calculated the odds of victory.
It did not look good for her.
*BOOM!*
Ironwood looked back at the cave from his small airship. He grit his teeth in irritation.
"Tch. Figures as much." He logged onto his own personal communications device, "Ironwood to base. I need a replacement Olive."
"Of course, sir. Is there anything else that you need today?"
"Yes." Ironwood answered, "I need a way to hurt the likes of Subject S."
"Winter…" Weiss was in pain. Her connection to her sister's ghost was one of the primary things that assisted her aura's primary regeneration properties.
"Shit! She's not recovering." Blake realized, "Her aura is draining, and fast. What the hell is going on?"
"It must be that ghost that she's always talking to." Fox said, "I know a ritual that can be used to speak to those in the afterlife. I could try to find whomever she's looking for."
"Try for it. Weiss is… I know that her company is hurting people, but she was disowned from it ages ago." Blake trailed off.
"Right. That bastard of a little brother is running things now, right?"
"Fuck if I know. I think he may have been behind all those hits on her." Blake ran her thumb over Weiss' forehead.
"We'll need to land for my ritual to be most effective." Fox mentioned.
"There should be a place where we can touch down. Will you need space?"
"Not too much." Fox said, "I'd need more than the space in this ship, but that's about it."
Raven, Summer, Yang, and Shadow all crawled out of the cave. Having left Olive for the rest of the grimm to feed off of.
Having a synthetic body may not be tasty, but in theory, it was healthier for them.
They looked to the skyline of Vale. Each of them having a different thought going through their minds.
"Tch, a testament to their so-called unity. And it now burns from their sins."
"Now Raven, no need to be so melodramatic," Summer chastised, "It is a shame though," She looked out to the wreckage that was Vale, "So much potential to be a place of true equity and peace- wasted. All to boost the ego of that fucking council."
"I can think of a few other things that can be fucked." Raven purred into Summer's ear.
"I'm going back to hell. You two can go do PDA if you want to. But I'm not going to see you two banging." Yang grumbled, opening a portal to Salem's lair.
"Well, you heard her." Summer purred at her partner, "Remember our old safeword?"
"Is it Tuesday already? I thought that we'd do some roleplay." Raven asked back.
"It's not like we've had time to come up with a scenario." Summer shot back.
It's finally here. Chapter 26! Any comments or ideas will be considered for next chapter if I feel that it's an interesting one.
Also; dat feel when you realize you gave one of your characters three mothers instead of them having just two or one… I'm talking about Yang here. My version of her. Seriously, Salem, Summer, and Raven.
As I AM writing this on a site with the word "fanfiction" in the URL, I don't own the characters.
