Arthur and Merlin were finally back to their horses. Somehow the horses had managed to stay in one spot the whole time. Merlin's feet were about to fall off from walking the whole way through the cave.

"Finally!" Merlin gasped as they reached the horses.

Arthur didn't even give a reply to his friend. It was obvious to Merlin that Arthur just wanted to go home and give the cure to his father.

"I'll talk to myself then." Merlin said under his breath, a little annoyed at Arthur's mood.

"Sorry Merlin. I just want to get home." Arthur finally answered him.

"So, do I!" Merlin said sarcastically. Arthur could tell that Merlin had had enough by this time.

"Buckle up. It's a long way back." Arthur smiled for the first time in a long time, obviously a little bit more happier now they had the cure.

Merlin gave a little smile back to him. They got onto their horses and got ready to move off. Arthur put the cure into the pocket on his saddle.

They then moved off on the horses back to Camelot. They just hoped they wouldn't bump into someone on the way back. Arthur was hoping a lot more than Merlin, but Merlin was still worried about it too.

"Ouch." Merlin moaned as soon as they started to move.

"Stop moaning Merlin." Arthur said frustrated.

"Alright then." Merlin said before starting to whistle. Arthur got more and more frustrated by this and they were a few steps from each other.

"Merlin stop whistling!" Arthur moaned to Merlin.

"Fine." Merlin moaned again. He then started to hum instead and driving Arthur around the bend again.

Arthur stopped his horse out of the blue. Merlin didn't have the time to stop his horse so was sent flying forward into a pile of leaves in front of them.

He quickly sat up with a frustrated face.

"What was that for?!" He shouted up to Arthur.

"Thought I saw a mouse." Arthur put on a fake smile and moved his horse on.

Merlin mouthed something behind Arthur's back and got back onto his horse. He hated when Arthur did that.

Meanwhile back in Camelot, a battle was in full swing outside the dungeon. Gaius heard thuds and screams of battle coming from upstairs. He was left to look after Uther but still really wanted to help the others fight off the Saxons.

He was ready for anyone coming down who was injured. He usually had Gwen to help him, but he has persuaded Gwen to go and help Morgana lead the charge against the Saxons.

The dungeon door crashed open. Morgana came in carrying a male servant with a bad leg wound. Gaius beckoned over to a table he had set up. It might not be clean but at least it was easy to use. Morgana put the servant down.

"How's it going up there?" Gaius asked worried.

"Not good." Morgana shook her head. Gaius could tell by her eyes that she was worried about the battle.

"The Saxons too powerful?"

"It's not even that. The servants won't listen to me." Morgana said brushing away blood on his hand.

"Get them to listen to you." Gaius urged her.

"How?" Morgana asked with tears in her eyes.

"Be strong. Be strong for them. Don't let them see you're worried." Gaius said putting his hands on her shoulders.

Morgana looked him straight in the eye. It was clear that the strong woman who had lead them into battle, was no longer there. They needed a miracle and fast!

Arthur and Merlin urged their horses up the hill to look over Camelot. They looked over it, they could see something going on down below. It wasn't clear what it was but they both knew that it didn't mean anything good.

"Oh no." Merlin whispered under his breath. Arthur didn't say anything, but Merlin could tell he was feeling the same way.

"We need to get down there." Arthur finally decided with a determined look on his face.

"How? The city is surrounded." Merlin pointed out, even though it was obvious that Arthur and he knew it already.

"I can see that Merlin!" Arthur hissed at his friend.

Merlin made a face out of sight from Arthur. Arthur urged his horse down the hill. Merlin watched him for a while before getting his horse to follow him.

"Where are we going?" Merlin shouted to Arthur questioning his decision to go down there.

"We need to find Gaius." Arthur shouted back determined more than ever.

"Why?"

"We need to find him so I can cure my father."

Arthur was right, if they find Uther then he might be able to fight the invaders off. At least that's what Merlin hoped.

The two friends made their way down to the castle walls. They then got off their horses and made their way to the edge of the castle walls so they couldn't be seen by whoever was trying to invade the castle.

"Who are they?" Merlin whispered surprised by the invaders strength.

"Isn't it clear yet?" Arthur turned to him with a little fear in his eyes.

Merlin looked back at the castle. Only one group of people apart from the knights could use that much power.

"The Saxons!" Merlin sighed as he came to the conclusion.

Arthur nodded also feeling Merlin's mood. They both knew all too well the lengths Camelot had gone to in the past to fight the Saxons off.

"How do we get past them?" Merlin said hoping there was some kind of answer.

"This way." Arthur took Merlin's arm and lead him off out of sight.

Morgana had left Gaius to treat the wounded. Some sort of power had now come to her to keep fighting. She stormed past Gwen and into the fray. Gwen was proud of Morgana taking power.

"Let's get this done!" Morgana called to the fighters.

"Yes, My Lady!" Came the reply as they kept fighting. Morgana smiled as she fought.

Gaius was still treating patients as they came in. Most of them weren't too badly injured but it was enough that if they had anymore injured they wouldn't win the fight.

He then heard a crash coming from right inside the dungeon. He was puzzled as the crashing kept sounding. He finished on his patient and then walked to where the sound was coming from.

He got to a door he didn't think was used that much. The sound was defiantly coming from this door. Before he could open it, Arthur crashed through the door into the room.

"Sire?" Gaius asked as Merlin picked Arthur off of the floor and came through the door.

Arthur brushed himself off as he got up. Merlin stood next to him as they faced Gaius once again.

"Why are you down here?" Merlin asked Gaius.

"We had to. The Saxons have taken over the castle." Gaius answered them.

"We saw. Who's fighting them?" Arthur asked puzzled.

"Morgana is leading the charge against them. She's doing pretty well come to think of it." Gaius smiled and nodded at the same time.

Merlin wanted to do a fist pump but decided not to as it might make Arthur mad at him again. It was nice to hear that Morgana could actually lead people into battle without Arthur's help.

"Is she?" Arthur finally said.

"Yes, she is." Gaius said standing up to the prince a little.

"Right." Arthur said obviously unhappy about Morgana leading something over him.

"Come in sire." Gaius waved the two wanders in.

As soon as Arthur saw his father, he rushed over to him. Merlin stayed a distance behind just in case Arthur wanted space.

"How is he?" Arthur asked not taking his eyes off of Uther.

"He's alright for now. Have you got the cure?" Gaius asked Merlin.

Merlin nodded as he got out the cure from his pocket. Gaius could nearly jump for joy as soon as he saw this. He took it from Merlin and took it to one side. Arthur looked up and watched him.

"What's he doing?" Arthur asked Merlin even though Merlin didn't really have a clue.

"There." Gaius said finishing off his work.

Gaius had now put the cure into a bottle and into a liquid. He moved Arthur out of the way and gave the cure to Uther hoping this would work after everything Merlin and Arthur had done.
