"We give no second chances. I'm sure you all saw that out there." Lanius came back out to the courtyard and faced the group.

"Violence is never the answer." said Carter. Despite living in a world without law, he always believed that any problem could be resolved peacefully.

"That's how you see it? Not me. I'll show you." he pulled out a pistol and aimed at his head, but aimed it slightly off target. The bullet grazed the side of his head, leaving mearly a scratch.

"If I wanted to, I could kill you. If I see that you're a danger, I won't hesitate, zero bullshit." he told them to continue killing the walkers until someone told them to go back into the pens.

"We gotta get out this mess, asap." Coach told Lee.

"I'm working on it. You can't rush these things. You know that."

"Go back in. You'll continue tomorrow." Cristy ordered the group. The group was pretty big, and they didn't give her any trouble, as part of the plan.

She grabbed Lee by the lower back and slid a letter into his back pocket as she closed the doors on the pen. He quickly pulled it out and read out loud to those around him.

"If you want a shot at leaving this place alive, you'll need a distraction from the inside. I'm going to try to draw away attention from your area. He has a tight eye around Zoey, so keep her in mind."

"Doesn't offer much information, but okay. What can we exactly use that won't get us killed?" Mikaela asked.

"From the inside. We're gonna have to do something that distracts the guards. I have a idea." Amanda piped up.

"Which is?"

"We grab one of the guards, without making as much noise and we take him out."

"That it? They'll probably execute us if they find out." Dalvin grabbed a old screw on the ground and put it in his pocket. He had a feeling he'd have to use it.

"We kill him and let him turn. That's what we're doing." Calvin added to the plan.

"Keeping a walker in here with us? That's fucking crazy."

"No, he's on to something. We can throw him onto the guards once they come towards us, then we shoot our way out." Bonnie added.

"We don't have bullets. We won't make it far-" Carter said before Lee cut him off.

"We're doing this, but with a plan. We still gotta get Kenny."

"You saw the man is missing like 4 fingers? He ain't gonna make it in his condition, man. You gotta leave him behind." Coach told him, patting him on the back.

"He's one of us. We can't afford to lose anyone else."

One of the guards came to the cell, hearing that they were making too much noise.

"Keep it down, won't you? Too much damn noise." He opened the cell door to inspect the group.

Emile looked at Lee, he nodded at him in response. Emile grabbed the guard by the arms, as Mika put a gag on his mouth so he couldn't yell, Coach stabbed him in the heart, killing him.

"Holy shit.. We have a damn bomb right here. We don't know how long it's gonna take." Dalvin stripped the guard of his rifle and ammo.

"What about the others? We gotta get to them." Amanda said.

"Once we get out of here, we'll free them."

Several minutes passed, and no guards came by. It felt as if their plan would fail, until they heard steps coming down the hallway.

"Okay. Get ready to disarm them, and get to the others." Lee told the rest. The dead guard started to move and groan, right on time. Emile and Coach pulled him to his feet, as the guards came by, they threw it on them, tearing into one of their throats.

"What the hell is going on?!"exclaimed Kate, hearing the yells on the outside of the cell.

"Sounds like walkers. We don't have anything to defend ourselves." Clem reached into her locker for the knife, but it wouldn't do much if it were several walkers.

The group ran down the hallway while the walker was distracted as they knocked down the doors to the cells as they freed the rest of the members.

"They're gonna be here any minute, we sho-"

"Down there! Fire!" Several guards opened fire at them as they took cover behind metal pipes. Mika reached for a rifle and began firing back at them, while Kate threw a molotov she quickly made from a lighter, making some of them catch on fire.

Cass tugged at Clem's arm.

"What is it?"

"Look!"

One of the guards was dipping a arrow into a bucket with a unknown liquid and fired at the group, hitting Cal, piercing his shoulder.

"Fuck!" it was now a large combination of guards and walkers fighting each other.

"We gotta pull it out, before it gets worse!" Lake tried pulling on the arrow, causing him to yell in pain.

"No.. We gotta go. Worry about me later.." he wheezed in pain. The group ran down the hallway only to be met with a closed off room.

"Through the window!" Bonnie smashed the glass, they jumped out, climbing down the building. Cal barely made it down, he was visibly weak and pale.

"I'm going in for Kenny!"

"Are you crazy? That's suicide!" Zoey exclaimed, as they fired at the guards and walkers.

"After all the shit I've lived and seen, I am damn crazy. I'll be back." he reassured them as he ran back into the mill, which was a war zone.

One of the guards got the jump on Bonnie. They struggled over control of the rifle, as he was shot in the head by a sniper rifle. She looked towards the direction of the bullet, leading her to the guard tower, where Cristy was positioned.

Coach reached for the radio on the guard's body.

"Stop stalling and shoot at the damn walkers. I got your back from here. Not sure how long until they find me." she said though the radio.

The hallways were filled with the bodies of guards. The plan Amanda came up with had worked, to a certain point. He followed the signs to the medical area. The door was shut, as soon as he kicked it open, he got punched in the nose, knocking him to the ground.

"I knew you'd come this way. So predictable." Lanius grabbed him by the collar and pulled him into the room. Kenny was sitting against the wall, severely beat and with a saw in place of his hand.

"Let him go. We already killed most of your people. And it ain't over yet." Lee groaned.

"You don't get it do you? The more of my people you kill, the more you piss me off. Killing wasn't my first choice, but now it is!" he pulled out his knife and took a swing at him, cutting him on the forearm. They got into a power struggle over the knife which was inches from Lee's chest.

" I ain't.. Letting anyone die today..." Kenny used all of his strength and lunged at Lanius, knocking him off Lee. He pushed the saw into his face, leaving deep cuts along his cheek, but was eventually overwhelmed as he got stabbed in the upper chest.

"Kenny! No!" Lee grabbed Lanius and pushed against a hospital bed and smacked him on the head with a crutch, knocking him to the ground.

Lanius reached for his pocket and pulled out a flashbang, and let it blow, sending Lee several feet away against the wall. His ears were ringing, and he was disoriented as he saw Lanius run out of the room.

He crawled towards Kenny, who was laying in a pool of blood, with the knife still in his chest.

"I can... Be with my family now. Katjaa, Duck.. They're waiting for me..."

Lee just took a deep breath and covered his face with his hands.

"I knew... You'd come and try to get my ass... You're a good man Lee... Keep Clementine... And the others safe..." He took several deep breaths, and eventually his last one.

"Godamnit!" he grabbed a medical tool and threw it against the wall in frustration. He looked out the window and saw several vehicles filled with Lanius and his people, as they got ready to flee.

"Fuck.." he grabbed the rifle and made his way back outside, were the group was hold up against a large metal tower. His anger was fueled to the max. He grabbed a machete and began bringing down walkers and guards alike, with no remorse.

"What happened in there? Where's Kenny?!" yelled Mika over the gunfire.

He looked at her with a ghost expression and looked back to the ground.

"Oh.. Im sorry Lee. He helped us get this far. We gotta make it count." The large convoy of vehicles poured out of the mill, leaving it abandoned.

Cristy climbed down the guard tower and made her way to them.

"Looks like you followed my instructions. I took out quite a few. Human and dead."

"Why did you help us?" Asked Lee.

"Lanius killed my parents. He assumed I was a good shot, and I was, so he brought me in to his group. He thinks that I don't know what he did, that's why he gave me so much trust and control over the place.

Lee looked towards Amanda, Lake, Dalvin and Brendon, who were kneeling beside Cal, who was in his final moments.

"Hey. You'll make it through this man. Just gotta hold tight,"

"No Lee.. This is a pain I've never felt before... I can feel it.. This is it for me..." he started coughing blood.

"The arrow was poisoned. They dipped it in walker blood. That's fatal." said Dalvin, who had pulled out the arrow and was observing it.

Cal's eyes were turning into a different color. One of them was turning into light Grey and the other into dark red. He was turning. He struggled for a while, and gave his last breath as he succumbed to the infection.

"I'll go get a grave ready." Emile finished sharpening his knife and grabbed a shovel from the shed and began digging a hole.

"We ran them out of town. We should secure this place for the night, make sure no walkers get in." suggested Brendon.

"What makes you think they won't come back and massacre what's left of us? Doesn't seem like a bright idea." replied Zoey.

"Any better ideas then?"

"We move out. This place is dangerous. The farther we get, the chances of them finding us again are slim." she replied.

"This place is a target for them. Best idea is for us to leave. We have better chances out there." added Bonnie.

"It's not gonna be harder on the road. You know that. If we hadn't found that house-"

"If we hadn't found that house, these bastards wouldn't have found us, and Kenny and Cal would still be alive!" Dalvin roared out, cutting off Carter's sentence.

Kate got in between them.

"It's not making things better if you're just yelling at each other. If we have our backs on each other, what good is that? Calm down."

"Your friend is right. In any case, Lanius won this fight." Cristy told them.

"How did they win if we drove them off?" Asked Brendon.

"They're letting you get comfortable. Only way this will be over is when Lanius is dead. Not a easy task."

"You've been here for a while. You must know where they're going." said Mika.

"This place was just a outpost for them. If the others are still alive, they'll be there."

"You mean there's more of these fuckers?!" exclaimed Coach.

"I'm not saying there is. They might be dead, last time we had contact was about 8 months ago."

"Where are they?" Asked Clem. She knew they were the enemy, responsible for the deaths of Kenny and Cal.

"Here, a few other outposts near Atlanta, Macon, all those areas. Those are just recon points."

"Where's the base then?" Asked Emile.

"Somewhere in Atlanta. I've only been there a few times, it's heavily armed, with civilians inside. They called it The Crawler. I don't poke around much, but I have to assume that where they are heading right now." Cristy took a deep breath and wiped her eyes with her sleeve, clearing them from tears.

" Hey, you okay?" Zoey patted her.

"My parents. Just thinking about them, that I couldn't do anything to help always gets to me."

"You can't blame yourself."

"I guess not."

Lee took a look at the mill. It was damaged, the fences had been damaged, and walkers could go in, so they started to repair them to spend the night and plan for the day ahead.

"Cal was with us since day one. He saved us countless times. I just feel that it could have been avoided." Lake told Lee.

He sighed.

"I know. I feel the same way. But we can't let anything hold us back. We have to look ahead, and prepare."

Once the fence was repaired and all walkers had been cleared, they headed to the mill, to find a place to rest. Lee found what appeared to be a control center for The Wanderers. There were several notes all over the area.

One that drew his attention was a large poster.

"783 days since initial outbreak.." he read outloud. They've been counting the days since the beginning, which meant they've been around since it all started.

"Feels like the dead started coming back to life just yesterday." he told himself. He didn't find anything else of interest.

"Find anything?" Mika was at the doorframe, looking around.

"Nah. Just looking around for anything."

"You know this is suicide right?"

"What is?"

"We barely survived this place, if we go out looking for them, we'll lose more people, or we'll all die."

"I'm not saying we're going after them. If we steer clear of any of their outposts like Cristy said, we'll be fine."

"What's the plan now? Go north again? That didn't work out last time. We need something stable. For all our sake."

"We've made it 2 years into this mess. We can do more."

Mika rolled her eyes. She always respected and looked at Lee as a ally and friend, but she knew what had to be done.

"Being on the road only brings death, you know that. The walkers aren't going away any time soon. I hope you have a plan for the road ahead." She left him in the room.

He went back towards the barracks, where the rest of the group was already sleeping, except for Clementine.

"You should get some rest. I don't know if we'll get any after today." he told her, as he layed down on a makeshift bed next to her.

"Are they gonna come back? For us?"

"I can't lie to you. I don't know. We'll work something out. I promise." she gave a reassuring look.

Back in the other corner, Claire resided with Carter. She didn't say much during the attack, she kept to herself most of the time. Losing members of the group was always harsh, especially when they contributed.

"I had never killed anyone. Everyone else does it without hesitating." She told him.

"I know. It's a hard reality, but it's something we have to get used to now."

The next morning, Cristy was the first one up to check all the entrances, making sure they hadn't been breached. Brendon joined her. He didn't really trust her since she was part of the enemy, or is.

"How many people are at The Crawler?"

"I don't know. Their numbers could have lowered, or increased. Last time I remember, a little over 150."

"Think we can take them all on?"

"I don't know. They might be violent, but they aren't stupid. We'll have to plan something, good. They can be anywhere."

Lee came back out to the courtyard. There were some Walkers on the fence, so they were dispatched quickly.

"Lee, you're gonna wanna see this." Kate yelled out from the other side of the Mill. Lee dropped the tools he was using and headed over.

"Oh Shit." It was a large vehicle, it appeared to be a normal truck but it had been heavily modified to handle the walkers, with a automatic turret mounted at the top.

"Looks like they left us this thing when they left. But does it work?" Kate asked. Emile stepped in the vehicle, opening the large doors. He turned the key on the ignition, bringing the dashboard to life.

"Fuel tank is full, everything seems to be fine from here." he looked at the engine, which seemed to be in good condition.

"Why don't you bring it around to the front. It'll be easier to take a better look at it. Coach? Make sure the fence holes haven't opened back up. We don't need more trouble." Lee told them, as he got his confidence back, losing Kenny and Cal took a big blow on him, but finding this vehicle gave him some hope.

Zoey looked at the turret. She hopped on, and pulled out its ammo case, revealing thousands of bullets ready to fire.

"I feel like we're ready."

"Ow!" Emile jammed his fingers on the door as he got off.

"For what?" he asked.

"To bring the fight to them. We're ready."
