Chapter 24: Canterlot Masquerade Madness Part 1
In the school of friendship, Cozy Glow and the girls are happily asleep in their room. They sleep happily, but suddenly Cozy Glow begins to toss and turn in her sleep. She grits her teeth as she clutching her eyes shut.
Suddenly, she receives some strange dream or something. What she sees are Tirek, Chrysalis, and the Storm King. They all seem to be laughing about something.
The Storm King says, "They'll never suspect a thing. We'll be able to get revenge on these ponies if our plan works."
"By the time those princesses realize what's going on, it will be too late," Tirek says.
Chrysalis says, "And then, Equestria will be all ours!"
The three then maniacally laughs as Cozy Glow's dream disappears.
Cozy Glow continues to struggle in her sleep. And soon, Cozy Glow soon wakes up in shock from her dream. Cozy Glow continues to take deep breaths as she has a cold sweat.
The next day in the Friendship School, the group of friends are having lunch together. They are enjoying the lunch they have, but Cozy Glow is still asleep.
Crescendo then places his hoof on her shoulder, "Cozy Glow."
Cozy Glow wakes up and quickly says, "I'm awake."
"Cozy Glow okay?" Yona asks.
"I think so," Cozy Glow answers and lets out a big yawn.
"You look tired. Did you get enough sleep last night?" Silverstream asks.
"I did. I just had an odd dream, but I can't remember what it is," Cozy Glow says.
"Maybe it's just a dream, or a nightmare. It's best to just forget it if it's scary," Gallus says.
Cozy Glow sighs, "Is that supposed to be helpful?"
"Not really, but that's what I do with my dreams or nothing but nightmares," Gallus says.
"I guess so," Cozy Glow says, and yawns.
Just then, Twilight, Sun, and the others walk over to them with smiles on their faces. Twilight is also carrying a small box.
"Hey guys, how are you doing?" Pinkie asks.
"We're fine, but Cozy Glow is getting a strange dream and can't remember it," Sandbar says.
"Really? Are you okay?" Sun asks.
"I think so. I'm still feeling a little tired," Cozy Glow says.
"Are you sure, darling? You fell asleep during my and Fluttershy's class today," Rarity asks.
"I'm sure it's just a bad dream and just need some more sleep," Cozy Glow says.
"On the other note, Princess Celestia is hosting a Masquerade Party in Canterlot Castle and she likes all of you to come," Twilight says.
"A party?! That sounds exciting!" Silverstream happily says.
"Yona loves parties," Yona happily says.
"Me too. I sure love to go there," Smolder says.
"That's good to hear. And Cozy Glow, Princess Celestia invited you and your family as well," Twilight says.
Cozy Glow yawns with a smile, "That's great. I'm sure they'll be happy to come."
"And Crescendo, The princesses also invited your sisters and your parents to come too," Twilight says.
"Really? That's great!" Crescendo happily says.
"Yeah. I wrote them a letter in the journal and they agree to come," Sun says.
"Sounds like we're in for a fun party," Moon Shell says.
"Yeah. I have never been to a costume party before," Dark Abyss says.
Moon Shell asks, "So what do we need for it?"
"You just need to bring yourselves and a costume, and a mask," Pinkie says.
"Well then, let's go get us some costumes," Sandbar asks.
Rarity brings out a pad and pencil, "I'll help you with the costumes."
Soon everyone begins to raise their hooves/claws/ and such as they say for their costumes. Sandbar wants to be Rockhoof, Yona wants to be a princess, Smolder likes to be a mummy, and more. Cozy Glow is the only one who can't seem to decide what she wants to be. Although, she is very tired to think.
Twilight then remembers, "Oh yeah, before I forget, I want to let you all know that Starswirl and the other pillars will be attending the party too."
"That's right. Even Stygian's going to be there," Sun says.
"That's cool," Gallus says.
"Yeah. Yona hasn't seen Rockhoof in long time," Yona happily says.
"Sounds like we're in for one fun masquerade party," Rainbow says.
"Yee Ha! We sure are in for quite a party!" Applejack says.
"I agree, and we're going to be wearing some fabulous costumes," Rarity says.
Fluttershy shyly says with a smile, "And we get to see the princesses too."
"Well, looks like we're going to have a lot of fun at the masquerade party," Twilight says.
Later in the night, at the School of Friendship, the girls along with Cozy Glow are fast asleep in their dorm. Cozy Glow soon begins to twist and turn as she sleeps. She grits her teeth and shuts her eyes tight. She begins to dream again.
She sees the three villains that she used to be in alliance with.
The Storm King says, "You know. Who would have thought it would be so easy to have those ponies turn against each other."
"You know that's an idea that we should keep in mind," Chrysalis says.
Then, it shows a different scene. It shows Tirek holding a book while Chrysalis is using her magic to hold an old and sinister looking greenish teal color bell with dark green markings on it. It also has a few cracks on it.
Chrysalis reads the book and says, "According to the book, we'll be able to use the bell to drain the magic of any creature which gives me an idea."
"We drain the magic off those prissy princesses, especially Sun and Twilight," The Storm King says.
Tirek evilly laughs, "That's exactly what I was thinking, and we'll use the bell against Grogar as well."
"Right, we just need to come up with a very good plan," Chrysalis says.
Then the three maniacally laughs about setting their plan into motion soon. Suddenly, Cozy Glow gasps as she wakes up from her sleep.
Cozy Glow rubs her head with her hoof, "Wha-what in the world was that?"
Suddenly, she hears a voice calling out, "Cozy Glow…."
Cozy Glow becomes startled that she turns to the door to see something glowing outside of the room.
"Cozy Glow… Cozy Glow…" The voice says.
Confused about the voice, Cozy Glow leaves her bead and walks outside to see a yellow glowing ghost ball floating towards her.
"Cozy Glow… Cozy Glow…" The ghost ball says.
Staring into the ball, Cozy Glow eyes begin to glow as they become hazy. The ghost ball then leaves the room and Cozy Glow follows it down the hall to who knows where. Meanwhile, Crescendo Wave is fast asleep in the room with Sandbar and the boys. Suddenly, he hears strange sounds and wakes up from his sleep. Crescendo sits up from bed and lets out a yawn. He turns to the door to hear the strange noises and sees a strange shadow.
Crescendo rubs his eyes and says, confused, "Who could be up this late?"
Crescendo opens the door and walks outside to see what the noise is. He turns his head to see Cozy Glow walking down the hall.
Crescendo becomes confused, "What's Cozy Glow doing here at this time for night? I better go see what's up?"
Still in a daze, Cozy Glow continues to walk down the hall until she comes into a halt. Just then, the ghost ball begins to go inside of Cozy Glow and her eyes change back to normal after it goes in.
Suddenly, Crescendo's voice calls you, "Cozy Glow."
"Huh?" Cozy Glow replies going back to her normal self.
She turns around to see Crescendo walking to her.
"Crescendo? Um uh, what are you doing here?" Cozy Glow asks, blushing.
"I think I should ask you that. What are you doing walking in the halls at night?" Crescendo asks.
Cozy Glow looks around and becomes very confused.
She then asks, "What am I doing here? I don't remember leaving my room."
"Are you sure you're okay?" Crescendo asks.
Cozy Glow lets out a yawn, "I think so. I also think I'm going back to bed."
"Right. I can take you back if you like," Crescendo says.
"Thank you Crescendo," Cozy Glow says, blushing.
The two then begin to walk back to their rooms for the night. Unknown to the pair, Cozy Glow's chest begins to glow a dim yellow color.
Time has gone by and it's the day of the Canterlot Masquerade Party. All of the ponies, and some creatures walk through the castle entrance as they wear different kinds of costumes. Among them are Twilight, Sun, their friends, Sandbar, Cozy Glow along with their friends and some of their families. Screwball and his parents attend as well.
Screwball, dressed as an acrobat happily says to Twilight, "Thanks for inviting us to the party."
"You're welcome. We also thought it will be good for your mom to have social contacts with ponies, a good one at that," Twilight says, dressed as an astronaut.
"And thank you for inviting us. I love to dress up into anything I can think of," Discord says, dressed as a Ringmaster.
Cosmos dressed as an animal tamer says, "I have to admit, I am excited. I have never been to a costume party before."
"Costume parties are a blast mommy. There are so many different foods, music, dancing, and there's also a Costume Contest. There is also so much food, especially candy! It's almost like Nightmare Night!" Pinkie happily says, and dressed as a clown.
Rainbow, dressed as Daring Do turns to Fluttershy, "Still, I'm surprised that you decided to come, since you were scared of Nightmare Night that you refused to leave your home."
"Oh, um, I thought it would be a nice change. Besides, you all will be here too," Fluttershy says, dressed as a ballerina that has swan feathers.
The Crusaders dressed as detectives happily cheers, "This is going to be the best party ever!"
Every creature else in the group is walking along with the others. The Dazzlings attend with Crescendo dressed as a music band with instruments. Sandbar and the others are dressed in costumes as well, even Cozy Glow, her sister, and her parents are in costumes. While her parents dressed as Mexican dancers and Rose Glow is a rose, Cozy Glow is dressed as Sun Goddess, Somnambula's daughter and Sun's ancestor.
"This is going to be exciting huh sis," Rose says.
"Um yeah. It is going to be exciting," Cozy Glow says.
Night Glow asks, "So how are you feeling? Twilight told me you've been falling asleep in class?"
"Yeah. I've been having strange dreams, but can't remember what they are," Cozy Glow says.
"Hmm, I wonder if Princess Luna can help you," Blossom Glow says.
"Maybe so. I'll have to ask her," Cozy Glow says.
Sun says, "I'm sure Princess Luna will be able to help you. I guess that's why she's called the Princess of the Night."
"You mean was, once she and Celestia retired," Adagio says.
"I suppose so. But you also need to remember that Twilight will be the one officially crowned. I still have my duties not just as the Princess of harmony, but also the guardian of the portal and Canterlot High's protector," Sun says.
"True, but you'll always be a princess to us," Sonata happily says.
Twilight turns to the others, "Come on every creature, the part is starting and a lot of ponies and creatures are already inside."
Every creature agrees and begins to walk inside the castle. Unknown to them, a white glowing ball is flying in the sky and notices the group of friends from above. With that, it begins to follow as it makes itself invisible.
