Chapter 26: A Moment's Peace
Rex had just awoken in his hospital bed, but meanwhile, the two gangs sat outside in the waiting room, neither saying a word. Everyone just stared at their feet. Zeke was the first to rise to his feet. He walked over to Malos, who looked up, confused.
Zeke cleared his thought. "For a year now, our gangs have been at each other's thoughts. But this time it's gone too far. Hell, I might have just lost my best friend to this fighting. I should be furious, longing to get revenge but I know the truth. If we keep fighting, there is no guarantee that we won't also loose Pyra or Mythra, or Morag or Brighid, or Pandoria, or even me. So what I want to do is call a truce. End this fighting. I hope you'll agree, Malos." Zeke held out his hand.
Malos stood up. "You're right this needs to stop. Who knows, someday we might be friends." He took Zeke's hand and shook.
Everything was silent as both gangs realized that the fighting was over. And many realized that this was what they had longed for for a long time. It wasn't much, but a moment's peace suddenly felt like everything.
Sorry again for the short chapter. You know, we are actually nearing the ending of Rex X Nia Vs the World! I'm pumped, how about you guys?
Also, I understand that the time we are living through is hard. Remember that you aren't the only person to be affected by this. I mean, C'mon! I suffer from anxiety and depression. Do you think a pandemic is just a walk in the park for me? No way! It's pure hell! But there, of course, are ways to cope. For me, reading and writing helps. A lot. Reading and writing helps because it is just a nice distraction from everything. I also like to watch movies and TV shows, another thing that helps me get my mind off of things. For me, some shows I like to watch while I might be panicking are Attack on Titan (kind of ironic), Tower of God, and Fairy Tail. Another thing is, for me, something that helps me are watching SMG4 videos on YouTube. For those who don't know, SMG4 is a channel on YouTube that makes really funny videos staring familiar characters from Nintendo games. Their videos are just really funny, and even when I'm really down, their videos help me laugh. But just know that everyone is being affected by this Pandemic.
