Coco: Hey, everyone, I'm sorry that it's been so long since my last update. I know I've taken forever, but I want to ease everyone's mind by saying that I am not abandoning this story. I'll try to have another update much sooner than I did this one. Now, this is Part Two to the Seven Deadly Sins movie. I think I'll finish the movie up in two more parts. I'm not sure. But I hope you enjoy the chapter, and thanks again for all your support. It means a lot, guys! Okay, let's get started!
"When is this little runt going to wake up?" Ban questioned as he kept glaring at their visitor.
After returning to the others with just the few things they had found at the spring, it was decided to interrogate the imposter as soon as he woke up. Though Elizabeth had tried to calm the others and suggest 'interrogating' might not be the best thing. But Ban was ready to beat answers out of the guy if that's what it took.
"It shouldn't be much longer now," Gowther, who finished prying inside the boy's mind, said. "Though from what I've seen inside his head, I'm not sure if he'll be able to tell us what happened to the Captain, Monroe, or Hawk. It would seem as if they haven't crossed paths."
Ban didn't like that one bit, and if this brat didn't know where they were then they had nothing to go by. Everyone then turned towards their guest as the boy's eyes finally opened. His eyes turned to Elizabeth, who was sitting by the bed, and the princess smiled at him.
"Ah, you're finally awake," She said. "That's good."
The boy's eyes widened when he saw her and he quickly sat up in bed while reaching towards her.
"Ellat, what are you doing here?" He asked as he gently grasped her shoulders.
Elizabeth looked at the boy in confusion as she repeated the name, he had called her. She hadn't heard it before.
"And why are you wearing that outfit?" He added.
Before Elizabeth could reply to the confused boy, Ban grabbed him by his head to turn him around.
"Alright, who are you?" Ban demanded. "And what did you do to Monroe, the Captain, and Master?"
The boy shook his head trying to get away before finally shoving at Ban. Ban let go more out of surprise than the boy's shoving as it wasn't that strong. The boy stared at him and the others with wide eyes as they were all gathered around him. He then set his face in determination.
"Listen, El, you need to run away!" He told Elizabeth as he stood up on the bed with his arm protectively out in front of her. "I'll stay and take care of the Demon Clan."
His words brought confusion to some of their faces as they wondered what he was talking about.
"I'm sorry," Elizabeth began. "But I think that you might be mistaken."
The boy looked at Elizabeth in confusion before looking to Merlin when the woman stepped forward.
"Everyone here is of a different kind," Merlin explained. "But not a single one of us belongs to the Demon Clan. Human,"
She gestured towards Escanor who tilted his head at their visitor. He looked rather unimpressed with the boy.
"Former human," Merlin went on as she pointed to Ban who looked annoyed. "Me—well, I'm something similar to that. Doll,"
She looked to Gowther as said doll was sitting on top of the writing desk in the room.
"Fairy Clan," Merlin continued to King then finished, "Giant Clan."
She pointed to Diane, who still had tears in her eyes from earlier, last as the giant peeked in through the window. The boy seemed utterly confused as he looked at all of them.
"That can't be. I thought the humans, fairies, and giants on the surface," He began as he fell to his knees on the bed. "…were all wiped out by the Demon Clan in the old great war."
His words only brought more confusion, but Ban didn't care about any of this. He just needed to know where to go to find his girl. That's all he cared about at this time. Yes, Monroe was basically immortal, but that didn't mean he liked her being somewhere he couldn't follow. If something did happen, and he wasn't there for her—his gut churned just thinking about it.
"So, does that mean the legends they were telling us were wrong?" The boy murmured before turning to Elizabeth. "Wait, then who are you?"
"My name is Elizabeth," She said. "I'm a waitress here at this bar."
And the third princess of the realm, but the girl didn't add that part as she felt it irrelevant.
"Oh," The boy began. "Well, I'm—!"
"Solaad the Celestial." Gowther interrupted.
Solaad looked at Gowther in surprise as the Sin of Lust stared directly back at the boy.
"Ho—how do you know my name?" Solaad asked.
"I took a peek inside your memories while you were sleeping." Gowther said as his pink-colored magic glowed from the tip of his finger. "What exactly does Time of Ruin mean?"
Monroe walked alongside Meliodas and Hawk as the three of them were led through a village. As they walked, people were bustling around them as if preparing for something.
"Are they preparing a festival or something?" Hawk questioned.
"Maybe it's a festival to eat you," Meliodas casually joked.
This had Hawk freaking out as he scooted as close to possible to Monroe without tripping her up.
"I don't want to end up a whole roast!" Hawk exclaimed. "Monroe, save me!"
Monroe sweat-dropped though reached down to pat Hawk on the back in a consoling manner. She wouldn't let anything happen to the poor pig. She then looked up as she noticed a lot of people were glaring at Meliodas and murmuring together. None of them seemed too happy to see him. Many people shot her a few looks as well, but they seemed more out of confusion than anger. Soon the trio was led into what looked to be some kind of temple. The room was lined with men with swords and helmets as if they were there to protect something or perhaps, they were called here when news of their impending arrival came.
"Thanks for the warm welcome," Hawk said sarcastically.
The three walked down to the front of the temple with guards on either side of them the entire walk up. At the end of the room was a large white statue and below it a finely crafted sword.
"What's that?" Hawk wondered aloud. "It looks like an obese pig."
"Oh, so you're basically saying it's your twin." Meliodas teased.
"What?!" Hawk snapped. "What do you mean?! I'm a lot slimmer than that. Tell him, Monroe!"
Hawk turned to the young knight thinking she'd surely speak in his defense. However, the silver-haired woman merely gave a shrug.
"Sorry, Hawk, but you kind of set yourself up for his jokes sometimes," Monroe pointed out. "This being one of those times."
Hawk looked at her in disbelief and gave a squeal of annoyance as Meliodas laughed. Even Monroe looked a bit amused as her lips twitched up slightly.
"What are you three rambling on about?" A voice spoke in front of them.
While Monroe looked down to where the voice originated from, the boys looked up at the statue. Monroe's brow quirked when seeing the tiny woman before them.
"Listen up, Solaad," The elderly woman addressed Meliodas. "You broke a very important law."
Hawk let out a squeal of fright as he jumped behind Meliodas for protection as the blonde's eyes widened.
"Did that statue just talk?" He asked.
Monroe sighed stepping behind the two of them to turn their heads down. They blinked when they finally spotted the elderly woman at their feet.
"Oh, guess not," Meliodas said with a chuckle as Monroe returned to his side.
"You know, you have some nerve to mess around at a time like this." The woman said.
Meliodas just grinned as Hawk finally moved from behind him to stand next to him and Monroe.
"First and foremost, I want you to know that I am well aware that you detest training despite being the successor of the winged sword." The woman continued.
Monroe and Meliodas exchanged another glance. These people were either delusional or there was someone out there with Meliodas's face who they were upset with and truly were mistaking Meliodas for him.
"However, Solaad," The woman went on. "In order to defend our village from the Demon Clan, you must inherit the winged sword, and fight for our people. That is the law we Celestial must all obey."
"Celestials?" Hawk murmured.
Monroe thinks she's heard of them before through Hesediel. After many of the Goddesses became unable to hold physical forms in this "realm", descendants of theirs remained here and became known as Celestials. They were not as powerful as their Goddess ancestors and they never seemed to come down to the surface.
"Hey, um, aren't you mistaking me for someone else, Granny?" Meliodas asked.
His question got several gasps of disbelief from those around them. He must have said something wrong because they were soon surrounded by swords...again. Monroe looked rather unimpressed at the weapons pointed at her as she placed her hand on her hip.
"How dare you insult Mistress Vaness!" One of the men beside the elderly woman snapped.
"Solaad, you bastard!" His companion shouted. "What are you thinking?!"
"I…don't know how to answer that," Meliodas said honestly.
Monroe sighed as she was getting tired of all of this. She knew they shouldn't have jumped into the spring.
"We just need to get out of here," Monroe said as she looked to Meliodas. "Let's just get your ingredient and head home."
Her words didn't seem appreciated as the swords inched even closer. Soon she was by herself in the circle of swords as Hawk and Meliodas were once again separated from her. Despite the fact the weapons were so close that one move would have her nicking her skin, she looked more annoyed than worried.
"And just who is this?" Vaness questioned as she turned her eyes to Monroe. "Solaad, just what did you bring home with you? A demon?"
Monroe's brow twitched. She thought she already pointed out she was human to the last bunch of these celestials. She hated having to repeat herself. Though before she could reply, a voice spoke up behind them.
"Has Solaad returned?"
The group turned, and Monroe's eyes widened when she saw a girl who looked eerily similar to Elizabeth standing there. The two could be identical twins though Monroe could tell right away she wasn't Elizabeth.
"Elizabeth!" Hawk exclaimed. "Meliodas, Monroe, it's Elizabeth!"
This Elizabeth-lookalike was soon being held back by some of the soldiers in the room, but she didn't falter as she fought against them.
"You're wrong," Meliodas said. "That's not her."
"It's not?" Hawk murmured.
"The girl might resemble the Princess, but she isn't her." Monroe replied. "Besides, she asked for this 'Solaad' guy that everyone is mistaking Melly for. So, she's obviously with them."
Hawk blinked because he hadn't noticed that, but now that he thinks about it, he did hear the girl say Solaad.
"They sure do look alike though." Hawk pointed out. "Their hair color is the same."
He then blinked when during the scuffle between the girl and the guards that the lookalike's cloak was ripped away to reveal wings.
"Oh, and you see that?" Hawk asked. "Even her back has those…WINGS?!"
"Miss Ellat!" One of the women with the girl called.
Ellat didn't listen as she took off into the air to try and escape. One of the men managed to grab her ankle before she could get far, but she shook him off. She flew up and over everyone before flying down towards Meliodas with her arms open wide.
"Solaad!" She cried out as she reached out to hug him.
She grabbed a hold of Meliodas tightly as her feet touched back on the ground. Meliodas, of course, didn't return the hug, but the girl didn't seem to notice.
"Why did you have to do this?" She asked him.
She then gasped as if she just realized something, and before anyone could blink, she was reaching underneath Meliodas's cloak. He gasped in surprise as Monroe snorted. If only Elizabeth could see this. Monroe wondered if the princess would become jealous at the sight. Ellat then ripped away Meliodas's cloak with her eyes widening.
"His wings are…gone!" She exclaimed.
The others gathered all gasped and murmured in shock as they stared at Meliodas. Vaness was so shocked that she fell over, which had the two at her side quickly dropping down next to her to check on her.
"Unbelievable." Vaness said. "Unbelievable."
Zoria, who had been silent at the back of the group all this time, finally pushed forward with a look of rage on his face.
"Has he truly lost his wings?!" He demanded as his own cloak fell to reveal wings on his back as well.
He reached towards Meliodas while gripping the blonde around the neck with his other hand raised up in a fist.
"How could you throw away our pride?!" Zoria shouted. "Has your mind become that corrupt?!"
Meliodas went to reply, but never really got the words out as he was interrupted—something the people here seemed to have a knack for doing.
"You ran away from your succession ceremony." One of Vaness's retainers said. "And then you decide to come back here, but you show up with your celestial wings missing!"
"It's a waste of time to discuss this any further." Vaness declared. "Throw him in a cell so he can reflect on his actions until the verdict is decided."
As some of the guards went to escort Meliodas out, Monroe sighed once more. This was just becoming more and more of a mess. They should just leave before things get worse for them.
"No, please wait!" Ellat begged.
"Meh, I don't really mind." Meliodas said—shocking Ellat. "Just be sure to bring some food and sake for us."
Meliodas moved to the guards holding Monroe and they shifted at his approach. He smiled at Monroe who gave him an annoyed look in return. Ellat, who finally noticed the silver-haired woman, looked between the two with confusion in her eyes.
"You cool with that, little Roe?" He asked.
Monroe scratched the back of her head, which had the men around her flinching as if they expected her to attack.
"Even if I wasn't—which I'm not, I'll just follow your lead on this one." Monroe said. "Though I still like my idea better."
Meliodas chuckled as Hawk decided to slip away when no one was paying him any attention.
"I've lost all hope for you." Zoria said to Meliodas before the blonde could reply to Monroe. "After everything you have done, you are no longer my son."
Zoria then stomped away with everyone looking between him and Meliodas in shock. Ellat looked very sympathetic towards the blonde, but Meliodas just shrugged.
"Yeah, well, I'm not your son anyway." Meliodas said. "Now, I'll go to your cell, but not without her."
He pointed to Monroe who has been waiting patiently for the swords to be removed. She's been standing perfectly at ease and hasn't made a fuss, so she thinks she deserves a little breathing room. Vaness stared between the two for a long moment before sighing.
"Very well," She said. "Take them both."
The guards finally moved back from Monroe who immediately moved to Meliodas's side. Meliodas reached up to pat her on the head as he told her everything would be okay. Ellat frowned when seeing how close the two were as they were being led away. It didn't take long to reach this holding cell of theirs and once the two were left alone in it, Monroe spoke.
"How long are we going to keep this up?" Monroe asked Meliodas. "We could easily take them."
"Yeah, I guess we could," Meliodas replied. "But there's no point in hurting them, is there? Besides, even after we manage to get away from them, how do we get back down to the surface?"
Monroe frowned because Meliodas did have a point. Even with her near perfect immortality, she wasn't sure if she'd survive going splat from this height. Still she didn't want to stick around here either.
"Then why not just ask them how to get back?" Monroe questioned. "I get they seem to think you're someone else, but if we just explain everything, I'm sure they'd let us go."
"Didn't seem to me like they wanted to listen to us." Meliodas said. "Let's just play cool for now. We can think of a way to get down from here tomorrow."
Monroe groaned as she plopped down on the dirty cell floor beneath them. This was all just becoming too tiring for her liking. She leaned against the wall behind her with her hands behind her head.
"By the way, what happened to Hawk?" She asked.
"No idea," Meliodas replied as he sat down next to her.
Monroe hoped the pig was alright, but she was sure the Captain of the Order of Scraps Disposal would find some way to survive without them for a little while at least.
"I wonder if the others have noticed we're gone," Monroe said.
"Probably," Meliodas said then chuckled. "Bet Ban is going nuts without his Mo."
Monroe blushed at Meliodas's teasing tone, but kept her mouth shut. Though Ban probably was wondering where the hell she was. She'd definitely be apologizing later for all the worrying and trouble they've caused the others. Though she could just blame Meliodas for all of it.
Night finally fell and down on the surface, Ban was sitting around a fire with the others as they listened to Solaad and his story. So far, all Ban saw was that they were stuck with this coward who ran away from home, and the others were in a sky temple or whatever above them. He didn't like it at all.
"It's so weird," Diane said after Solaad had finished. "He looks just like the Captain, but he's a completely different person."
'Yeah, the Captain isn't a coward who would ever run away from his responsibilities,' Ban thought snidely.
He kept his mouth shut, however, as he just continued to glare heatedly at their guest.
"That's true," King agreed as he floated above the fire. "But rudeness seems to be a trait they share."
He still hasn't forgiven Solaad for his rude comments to Diane earlier as it had kept the giant crying for hours. So, so far it would seem as if Solaad wasn't making too many friends on the surface.
"Oh, can't you just let it go?" Diane begged.
While King hadn't forgiven the Celestial, Diane had brushed it off. The poor guy was in unfamiliar territory with people and beings he's never seen before. King just frowned as he crossed his arms over his chest as he wasn't ready to let it go.
"I'm sorry for what I said." Solaad spoke up.
Diane looked down at the blonde in shock as he looked back at her in return. His eyes reflected how sincere he was being as he continued to speak.
"It was my first time seeing a giant," He said. "So, I'm…well, I'm really sorry."
Diane smiled at the small male. She knew he wasn't a bad person. He was kind—something he shared with Meliodas. King, who didn't like seeing Diane warm up to Solaad, moved back into the conversation as he floated between Diane and Solaad.
"So, the Captain passed through that spring in the forest and he somehow ended up in this sky temple of yours?" King brought the conversation back on track.
"Which means he's still be with Hawk and Monroe, I imagine," Escanor said.
After all Hawk and Monroe were still missing as well, and it was only logical to think all three were together. Or at least that's what everyone was hoping. Knowing Monroe should have Meliodas at her side did give Ban some kind of a peace of mind even if not much.
"I'm sure he jumped in without thinking it through," Gowther added.
"That sounds like the Captain to me, and knowing Monroe, she most likely followed after them to keep an eye on them." Merlin theorized.
That sounded like something Monroe would have done, but Ban wished she had come back for help before literally diving into trouble. He then shook his head as he returned his annoyed glare on Solaad.
"So, you said you ran away like a wimp at the thought of the Demon Clan resurrecting?" Ban summed up.
"No, I didn't just run away!" Solaad argued. "It's just that the 3,000-year-old seal that's been holding the Demon Clan back is getting close to wearing off. At this rate the Celestials will be wiped out."
Ban just blinked because it sounded as if he was perfectly right. This kid ran away because he was afraid, and it was as simple as that.
"So, that's what the Time of Ruin is then?" Elizabeth guessed.
"Yes, and what I need now is for the Great Oshiro to reappear." Solaad said. "No one believes me that it will happen though. There has to be something I can do."
While Elizabeth looked sympathetically at Solaad, Ban scoffed as he resisted the urge to roll his eyes.
"The Great Oshiro, huh?" He repeated. "And what is that?"
"The Time of Ruin and the Great Oshiro, how terribly interesting." Merlin said. "Could you tell us about it in detail?"
Solaad seemed hesitant at first, but he soon nodded his head as he was sure it wouldn't hurt to tell these people. They seemed nice enough. And so, he began the tale of the Great Oshiro and the Winged Sword.
"The legend says that 3,000-years-ago at the Sky Temple where I was raised a great war was happening involving the five major clans," Solaad said. "The battle was going in the demons' favor and the Goddess Clan was nearly wiped out. However, they were said to be saved by the Great Oshiro who sealed the Demon Clan in craggy peak. Ever since then, the Goddess Clan has passed down the Winged Sword through generations defeating the demons. The descendants of the Goddess Clan are us the Celestials."
Ban didn't really care about any of that as it wasn't getting them any closer to finding Monroe or the others. Though it would seem as if the three of them could all be in danger if the Time of Ruin was really coming so soon. His jaw tensed. Monroe didn't even have her weapon with her.
"So, what you're saying is you came all the way here in search of this Great Oshiro?" King asked.
"That's right," Solaad said. "If the legends are true, the Great Oshiro should be somewhere on the surface. However, no one seems to believe me, and anyway, going to the surface is completely forbidden."
Meaning his father would most likely disown him for what he has done, and everyone was bound to hate him if they didn't already.
"The Great Oshiro…Gowther, have you ever heard of it?" Merlin asked the doll.
"No, I haven't." Gowther replied.
Solaad looked back down as he started to believe that everyone had been right. Maybe the Great Oshiro really wasn't down here on the surface, and he made this journey for nothing.
"Hey, I have an idea," Diane said. "Why don't we help you search for it?"
Solaad looked up at Diane in surprise as he hadn't been expecting her offer. Though it wouldn't seem as if many of the others were onboard with her suggestion.
"I'd really like to help him, but without any leads I don't know what we can do," King said trying to be realistic.
"I wonder what Captain, Monroe, and Hawk are up to right now," Escanor said reminding the group of their missing friends. "Oh, I am so worried."
He knows Meliodas and Monroe are capable fighters, but that didn't make the worried feeling go away. There was no telling how they were being treated or if they even knew where they were. So, many things could have gone wrong.
"The Captain and Hawk are most likely enjoying their time away and Monroe is certainly trying to find their way back." Gowther said. "I would say she's getting annoyed with them by now."
Ban felt his lips turn up for the first time since they learned their comrades were missing. He could just picture Monroe scolding Meliodas and trying to get him to take their situation seriously. She probably wanted to get back just as much as Ban wanted her back.
"Well, it sounds like fun to me," Diane said. "I wanna go."
King gasped looking surprised for a second at Diane's declaration before he spoke himself.
"Well, if Diane is going, I'm going," He said.
"Well, then let's bring them back," Ban said as he stood. "Captain has training to finish and Mo has a whole lot of apologizing to do."
Diane smiled while knowing Ban was just worried about Monroe. He's been on edge ever since he returned to from the spring with King and Gowther. He'd probably hug Monroe first thing and forget all about making her apologize to him for all the worry she's caused him.
"We can get through the spring, can't we?" Ban asked Merlin.
"That's right," She said as she began to stand up. "I want to know more about this Sky Temple anyway."
She was curious to get a look at the place more than she was concerned with getting their friends back. She was certain they were fine, but that didn't mean they had to wait around on them to return on their own.
"Yeah, but then what about finding the Great Oshiro?" Elizabeth asked.
She looked to Solaad in concern while wanting to help the boy and his people. Yes, she wanted Meliodas, Hawk, and Monroe back, but she didn't want to abandon Solaad on his own either. Solaad looked at Elizabeth silently before he made a decision. He stood up from the ground.
"Everyone, thank you so much," He said. "But I'll be fine on my own. Goodbye."
He then flapped his wings to take off into the sky with the action causing their fire to go out. Elizabeth called for him in hopes he would wait, but he kept going.
"Well then, I guess he didn't need our help," Gowther said.
"Whatever," Ban said. "Let's just go. Our friends waiting for us."
He then stiffened while looking off in the direction of the spring as if something was wrong.
"Is there something the matter, Ban?" Diane asked when seeing his look.
Ban didn't reply as he hurried off in the direction of the spring so suddenly it caused the others to gasp.
"Hey, what are you doing?!" Diane called after him.
Ban didn't stop to reply, which had Diane puffing out her cheeks in annoyance as King sighed.
"And there he goes again," King said. "Well, we better go after him."
The others were quick to follow as Ban hurried through the forest towards the spring. He could sense something was wrong. And it would seem as if he was right because as he came through the trees to the spring, which was glowing he saw Solaad being detained by some strange woman with a whip.
"Get your hands off of him!" Ban snapped as he used his sacred treasure to attack the woman.
She dodged at first, but then Ban managed to land a hit, which sent her flying back. Solaad looked at him in surprise as he hadn't expected anyone to come to his rescue. Let alone Ban. He wasn't alone either as the other Sins began to arrive.
"What happened Solaad?" King asked. "Are you okay?"
"The Demon Clan is coming through the spring," He warned his companions as the demon woman gained her bearings.
She took in her opponents as they study her in return. Though Diane was quick to make a move.
"Don't worry," She said as she attacked the demon with a swing of her fist. "Just leave this to us!"
She missed her target, which took off up into the air to get away from her three opponents. She didn't seem too worried as she smirked at all of them.
"You're all going to make nice sacrifices as well." She said as she readied to attack.
However, she didn't get the chance as King came at her from behind. She managed to get away from him, but then Diane was right on top of her. Once more she managed to dodge, but she soon realized that those she was facing weren't pushovers.
"They're strong," She realized before stiffening when Merlin made her presence known.
"You're from the Six Knights of Black." Merlin said. "You're Galla, right?"
"How do you know who I am?" Galla questioned then noticed Gowther coming in behind her.
She realized she was very outnumbered as she looked to the five people circling her. There was also Escanor who stood behind a tree and Solaad as well. If they joined in it'd be seven versus one. Not exactly good odds for her.
"Who are you people?" She demanded to know.
"You don't know?" Merlin taunted. "We're the Seven Deadly Sins."
Galla grit her teeth together as her body tensed. She didn't know who these Seven Deadly Sins were, but they were obviously strong opponents and she wouldn't last long against them. However, that didn't mean she was finished just yet. There was still one more thing she had to do.
"I don't care who you are," Galla said. "I won't let you get in my way."
She jumped up into the air after that while starting to spin her whip-like weapon around above her head.
"To make sure of that," She began as the spinning she was doing gathered a bright ball of energy. "I've got a little surprise for you!"
She threw the attack towards the group who all readied to block the hit, but they were surprised as the ball of energy flew right pass them and into the spring. The heat of the attack caused an explosion that sent water and rock flying into the air. Once the attack cleared, it revealed the spring was all but gone.
"The spring!" Solaad exclaimed.
Ban grit his teeth together while knowing that getting to the others just became a lot harder.
"Now none of you will be able to get to the sky temple," Galla said with a laugh. "The Six Knights of Black will soon be annihilating every last one of the Celestials. I won't let you interfere—!"
Whatever she was going to say next was cut off as Diane hit her hard with her fist. But instead of going flying like Diane thought she would, Galla seemed to turn into stone and crumble away. Diane blinked in surprise as she lowered her fist.
"It appears that was just a dummy," Gowther said. "The real one is currently somewhere else."
Yeah, Ban would guess that woman was back with those Six Knights of Black or whatever Merlin called them. Just thinking about it, had Ban turning towards the dark-haired woman.
"Hey, what was that all about?" He aske the wizard.
"The Six Knights of Black—the demons that ran wild during the Holy War 3,000-years-ago," Merlin began. "Their veracity…it was trouble even to the Ten Commandments."
So, these demons were almost on par with the Ten Commandants and most likely located where Monroe, Meliodas, and Hawk were. This whole situation just kept getting better and better. He then glanced over at Solaad to see the Celestial looking down at the ground in despair. He almost felt pity towards the guy.
"We can't just sit around here and do nothing to help," Escanor said.
He too knew their friends could be in grave danger alongside Solaad's people. They needed to try and help them in anyway that they could.
"If we can't get there through the spring, we're just going to have to go there directly," Merlin said as she turned.
As she finished speaking, the ground shook violently, which had the others gasping in confusion. They then looked up seeing Hawk's Mom, who was still covered by the earth she had been submerged in, rising to the sky. And as they were quiet used to the large green pig's abnormal abilities, the Sins didn't question how she was flying.
"Come on, King, let's go!" Diane said.
She hurriedly jumped up into the air to grab a hold of Hawk's Mom and King was quick to follow. Gowther was next followed by Merlin and Escanor. Ban was about to follow, but paused as he once more looked to Solaad who was still hunched over on the ground. He groaned in annoyance before walking over to grab the Celestial by the back of his shirt.
"Don't think you just get to stay behind," He said as Solaad looked up at him in question. "The Demon Clan has been resurrected, hasn't it?"
He then easily jumped up into Diane's awaiting hand and the giant placed them on the ground covering Hawk's Mom's body. He dropped Solaad unceremoniously on the ground as Gowther announced their departure for the sky temple. Solaad watched Ban go as the older male stared off into the sky with a pensive look on his face.
"Ban…looks very worried…" Solaad said.
"Well, yeah, it's because Roe isn't here with him," Diane said. "He's worried about her."
Solaad looked back to the giant, who was suddenly at a normal size and in different clothes, after Merlin had used her magic on the giant. Diane couldn't just hang off of Hawk's Mom the entire journey to the sky temple after all.
"Roe?" Solaad asked.
"That's right," Diane said. "She's a dear friend to all of us, but to Ban…well, she's much more. He loves her very much, so naturally he wants her back home with him."
Solaad blinked as he turned to look at Ban once more. Yes, he could see the worry in the man's eyes as he stared forward. His back was taunt and the rest of his posture rigid as well.
'I'm on my way, Mo,' Ban thought as he hoped the girl was okay.
Monroe yawned as she stretched out. She felt a bit stiff from her uncomfortable sleep against the wall of the cell she and Meliodas were still in. They spent the night in this place and no one ever came to check on them. She was feeling a bit hungry, but it was something she could ignore. There were more pressing matters to deal with after all.
"So, we finally heading out?" Monroe asked Meliodas who was standing at the bars to their cell.
To answer her question, Meliodas kicked the bars with enough force to send them off their hinges and into the wall opposite them.
"Finally," Monroe said as she rolled the crick out of her neck.
Monroe flipped onto her feet before following after the Captain of the Sins. She was ready to get off this floating island and back down to the others.
"Yeah, guess it's time to find a way back to the bar," Meliodas said. "Though I guess we better find that pig first."
"That pig does have a name, ya know," Monroe said as she sweat-dropped.
Meliodas just gave a chuckle and a shrug as he took in their surroundings to find out just where he wanted to head first. He finally turned left while starting their trek to find Hawk. Monroe walked alongside of him with her bare feet padding against the ground. She hadn't been given any sandals as Meliodas had been given, but the ground here was rather soft, so she didn't mind too much.
When Meliodas came to a stop, Monroe stopped as well. She followed his gaze to see what caught his attention to see Zoria was training some other Celestials down below in some kind of fighting ring. They were pretty far away, but due to Zoria's boisterous voice, Monroe picked up some of what he was saying.
"This year is the Year of Doom!" He was reminding his men. "We don't know what sort of demons will appear before us."
He kept speaking, but Monroe didn't really care about the rest as she tilted her head.
'What's this Year of Doom?' She wondered. 'And what does it have to do with the Demon Clan?'
She had a feeling it tied into why they had been so wary of the thought of her being a demon. Though she was pulled out of her thoughts when Meliodas kept moving. She followed after the Sin of Wrath while trying to remind herself that later maybe she should try to find out more. If they were going to be stuck here for a while, they should probably be prepared for this Year of Doom or whatever.
"Wow, this place really does have an amazing view," Meliodas said as they looked around. "I wish I could show Elizabeth."
Even though Monroe did want to get home as soon as possible, had to say this place wasn't a bad place to be stuck at. It was beautiful here.
"Yeah, I'm sure the Princess and the others would love to see all this," Monroe agreed.
The two kept walking with Monroe wondering where their little piggy friend had gotten off to. She was a bit worried for him. Though supposed if he was in any real danger, they'd hear him calling for help a mile away. The two walked around a bit more, but someone sitting on top an old stone column, caught Monroe's attention. Her brow quirked when seeing that Ellat girl from yesterday.
"It's the Elizabeth-lookalike," She said, which had Meliodas looking up to notice Ellat as well.
The girl, who was staring sadly out in front of her, finally seemed to notice the two as she turned towards them. She seemed surprise at the sight of them as Meliodas just gave a friendly wave.
"Yo," He greeted.
Monroe gave him a look as that was a pretty casual way to greet someone who could sound the alarm and get them surrounded by swords again. If that did happen, she probably wouldn't play nice like she had done last time. There was only so much swords shoved in her face that she could take.
"So-Solaad!" Ellat gasped before flying down to the pair.
Or rather down to Meliodas as it would seem the girl didn't notice Monroe or was completely trying to ignore her presence.
"But how were you able to get out of the cell?" Ellat asked as if it was a miraculous feat.
Monroe was beginning to think that this Solaad guy wasn't all that strong. In fact, he seemed kind of pathetic if escaping from a cell with no guards posted would have been impossible for him. Maybe he shouldn't have skipped out on his training then like Vaness had mentioned.
"You've been mistaking me for someone else," Meliodas tried to explain, but was interrupted once again as Ellat raised her hand.
"I was so worried about you!" She snapped as she went to take a swing at him.
Of course, Meliodas dodged her attack with ease, which seemed to surprise her even more.
"Why did you dodge it?!" She demanded. "Let me slap you!"
She went to try and hit Meliodas again, but she was stopped by Monroe this time as the silver-haired girl caught her wrist to keep her back. Now Ellat was forced to acknowledge Monroe's presence as the Holy Knight was looking at her rather unimpressed.
"It's kind of rude to slap a stranger who hasn't even done anything to you." Monroe said. "Now, try listening for a change. The guy behind me isn't your Solaad."
Ellat blinked in confusion as she looked to Meliodas who was peeking around Monroe with a grin on his face. When seeing she finally calmed down to listen, Monroe released her wrist.
"What…what do you mean?" Ellat asked.
The two newcomers didn't get the chance to explain as Zoria and his men who had finally noticed their absence chose that time to show up.
"There he is!" One of them called out. "Master Zoria."
Monroe's eye twitched in annoyance. These people had a knack for interrupting at the worst times or any time it would seem. She then sighed as they were once again surrounded though at least this time weapons weren't shoved at them directly.
"You," Zoria began after landing directly in front of Meliodas. "You aren't even able to sit quietly in jail and think about the law you broke."
Though Meliodas and Monroe merely blinked at the man's words, Ellat turned concerned. She went to step forward, but was stopped by the men who came with Zoria. But not just by them. She paused as well when Monroe held out her arm to signal Ellat to stay back. This confused the Celestial, but she didn't try to break away from those who had grabbed her.
"I won't forgive you." Zoria continued then took a swing at Meliodas. "And I won't hold back just because I'm your father!"
His fist was stopped easily by Meliodas, however, who only needed two fingers to hold back Zoria's attack. Zoria gasped in shock as everyone else—besides Monroe—stiffened.
"I will hold back because I'm not your son," Meliodas cheekily replied.
He then easily flipped Zoria away with a flick of his fingers. The large man fell on the ground with a thud while looking at Meliodas with wide eyes.
"Solaad, what has happened to you?" Zoria asked.
Now wasn't the time to explain the mix up between Meliodas and Solaad, as Monroe along with Meliodas stiffened as they suddenly felt a surge of power. They looked up just in time to see a spark of what seemed to be electricity flare before an explosion happened at the large stone egg that sat upon the hilltop not far from them. Zoria and the Celestials were quick to rush off, but not before Zoria told Meliodas and Monroe there would be some serious talking later. Meliodas just hummed watching them go as Monroe tilted her head to the side.
"More trouble," Monroe said. "How wonderful. I take it we're going to help?"
She was answered by Meliodas taking off after the Celestials, which had her sighing. Of course, they were. Though she supposed she shouldn't be complaining. Maybe she'll find out more about this Year of Doom if she follows after the group. Besides, if demons were causing trouble, it was her duty to bring a stop to their plans.
