Bridge of the Enforcer, Imperial II-class Star Destroyer
The Enforcer finished refueling and filling its stores, then officially shipped off from port. It was an evolution which put the entire crew to task, filling the bridge with personnel to accomplish the many required tasks to deploy for an extended period of time. After a smooth departure, the Enforcer prepared to enter hyperspace.
Commander Rivenner shifted in his Command Chair. He glanced to the officer standing beside his Chair. The officer was a middle-aged man, roughly the same age as Rivenner, with a similar height and build as well as similar short black hair. The markings on his uniform also named him as a Captain, the Commander of the tie-fighters assigned to the Enforcer. "I was hoping that our guest would have paid me a visit and left by now, Captain Farria," Rivenner said.
"Me too," answered Captain Farria. "He came with an Imperial Army Sergeant and a civilian cybernetics specialist," he added. "I have found nothing of interest in their files."
Commander Rivenner looked around the bridge, then at Captain Tenneka who stood to the right of his chair, surveying the crew. "Captain Tenneka," he said. "Approach."
Tenneka quickly complied with his request and moved next to his chair. "Yes Commander," she said.
"I had expected a report before now regarding our guest," he said.
"My apologies, Commander," Tenneka replied. "Agent Sluka told me not to report on his movements and you told me to ask no questions regarding his missions or position."
The Commander stared at her for a moment, his mouth partly agape as if ready to speak but unable. Finally, the words came from his mouth in the form of a question. "Agent Sluka?"
Captain Tenneka's eyes nearly bulged out of her head, a show of emotion nearly always devoid from her face, as she recognized the implications of what the Commander had just said.
At that moment, the blast door to the bridge slid open unannounced and Commander Rivenner spun his Command Chair around. In marched Imperial troopers, double file in their typical Imperial greens but they were wearing helmets and had their blaster rifles leveled. The troopers split around the Command Chair and immediately proceeded to cover the officers and enlisted men manning the bridge. In shock, the crew of the bridge froze in place, not wishing to challenge the troopers with blasters trained on them.
Commander Rivenner jumped to his feet and screamed, "What is the meaning of this?" the troopers ignored him and continued filing in until two entire squads had entered the bridge and covered the crew on either side of his Command Chair. After them came more troopers, single file, led by Sergeant Conor. "Answer me, Sergeant," Rivenner screamed. "What is the meaning of this?"
Sergeant Conor did not answer or acknowledge the Commander. He simply looked over the troopers in the bridge to ensure each was in position. From behind him walked up an even taller figure, Agent Sluka in his black ISB laminate armor. "I am Agent Malgo Sluka," he said, voice broadcast over his loudspeaker. "I here in my capacity serving within the ISB, Internal Affairs Branch, Imperial Navy division." His dark visored helmet shifted around as he scanned the bridge. "Commander Rivenner, I am relieving you of your duty for corruption in your service to the Empire."
"This is an outrage!" snapped Farria. "Assistant Director Magnusson will have your head."
The hilt of the Unnamed King leapt into Agent Sluka's hand and its white plasma blade instantly sprang forth. In one fluid motion, Agent Sluka stepped with the white blade springing forward too, then stepped back. Captain Farria's head dropped to the deck and rolled in front of Tenneka.
"As I stated," Agent Sluka began. "Captain Rivenner, you are no longer Commander of The Enforcer. You will be subject to trial and punishment for your actions. And Assistant Director Magnusson will have nothing to say. She heads the Coruscant Division, not the Imperial Navy Division."
Captain Tenneka stepped forward.
Sergeant Conor quickly leveled his carbine on her but Agent Sluka waved him off. "Yes, Captain Tenneka?" Agent Sluka began as a question, then ended with the statement, "As Executive Officer of the Enforcer, it is now under your command."
"As I have now assumed command of the Enforcer, I expect that Captain Rivenner will be placed under my custody?"
"Yes, Captain Tenneka," Agent Sluka answered.
Captain Tenneka turned around to face Rivenner and drew her blaster pistol, pointing it at his head. "You have been engaging in acts of corruption, using your station against the Empire during a time of war," she said.
Rivenner opened his mouth to speak and Tenneka pulled the trigger.
The blast hit Rivenner square in the forehead and he crumpled to the ground. Captain Tenneka looked around the bridge. "Any questions about what just happened here?" she asked. No one answered. She turned to a nearby officer and said, "See that the bridge is cleared of the debris." The officer stared at her for a moment, uncomprehending. Captain Tenneka glanced down at the two corpses for an instant and then back to the officer. "Now!" she snapped. The officer quickly ran over to the two corpses and then motioned for three crewmen to join him. They quickly carried the corpses past the troopers and off the bridge. Captain Tenneka turned back to Agent Sluka. "What now?"
"Lock down all communication," he said. "We leave for Coruscant immediately."
Thus ends Episode 9 of The Adventures of Agent Malgo Sluka, ISB
