"Hey, why are you all dressed in black?" AJ asked Cassie who was dropping Chase off for the day at AJ and Punk's house.

"Me and Theo have a funeral before work. I thought I told you." Cassie said, taking Chase's jacket from him as the three year old sat up at the kitchen table.

"You want some breakfast, buddy?" Punk asked Chase.

"Yes." Chase nodded.

"Please." Cassie reminded him, brushing her hand through his hair.

"Yes please." Chase said as Punk smiled.

"How does pancakes sound?" Punk asked, flipping some pancakes as Chase raised his head eagerly.

"Yeah!" Chase nodded excitedly.

"Wow, not every day you get pancakes here." Cassie said, "What's the occasion?" She smiled.

"It's our anniversary." AJ nodded.

"Wedding?" Cassie shook her head with confusion.

"No, dating." AJ smiled.

"Gosh, I don't know if I can remember mine and Theo's dating anniversary." Cassie chuckled a little.

"That's cause you guys played hot potato for months." Punk scoffed as Cassie made a face at him without him noticing.

"Well don't you guys normally spend the day together? I could have gotten Gill to babysit-"

"Oh, no. It's fine. Your dad's working." AJ waved her hand, "We're going on vacation next month so we can celebrate then." AJ nodded.

"So Chase is gate-crashing your anniversary breakfast?" Cassie smiled.

"We don't mind." AJ smiled, looking over at Chase who was playing with his little action figures on the table, "Whose funeral is it again?" She questioned.

"Oh, a girl who used to work at the station. She had breast cancer and it… spread everywhere pretty much." Cassie nodded.

"Oh." AJ frowned, "Did you know her well?"

"We weren't best friends but I mean… it's a work colleague. She was off for pretty much the whole year. I think it just got so bad towards the end." Cassie said, "So I'm meeting Theo there. I should probably get going actually." She noticed the time.

"Ok, sweetie." AJ nodded, "I'll see you later."

"Ok. Be good." Cassie leaned down and kissed Chase's head.

"See you later." Punk nodded, serving up the pancakes for AJ and Chase whilst Cassie left the house to get on with her day.

"These look good, baby." AJ smiled, excited about the pancakes. She was always excited about sweet breakfast treats. Normally for their anniversary they would go out for breakfast, but this year Punk had to work so it was the old fashioned homemade ones, which were just as good in her opinion.

"Yeah, I think that might be my finest batch yet." Punk nodded, proud of himself.

"They good?" AJ asked Chase who was already tucking in, nodding with a mouthful as Punk chuckled. It was a pleasure to babysit Chase. He was such a happy and loving little boy. All their grandchildren were. It made babysitting one of their favourite things to do.

"I don't got much time to spare but I'll see you later." Punk said, noticing the time.

"Well thank you for these." AJ smiled as he leaned down and gave her a kiss.

"What you got planned for today?" Punk asked, grabbing his jacket after noticing the rain.

"Well I was gonna just do some work in here and maybe the little guy can watch some movies, we can bake some cookies or something." AJ nodded, "But then I realised I left my folder in the office. I'll need to go pick it up later cause I'm not in tomorrow either."

"I can get it on my way home from work." Punk shrugged.

"Oh, it's ok. I can go in." AJ waved her hand.

"No, that's silly. I know where your office is. I'm passing by that way on my way home anyway. I'll get it." He said, "What does it look like?" He asked her.

"It's just a big red folder. It'd be shocking if you missed it." AJ said as he laughed a little.

"Ok, big red folder." Punk nodded to himself.

"Thank you." She smiled, patting his ass discretely as he nodded.

"Enjoy the pancakes." He said, "Behave for my wife." He pointed to Chase who pointed back at him, causing AJ to laugh as Punk left for work.

"Well that was awful." Cassie nodded, walking through the cemetery towards their car after the funeral they had attended.

"I don't think there's such a thing as a good funeral." Theo said.

"She was just a few years older than me." Cassie shook her head, "Puts a lot in perspective." She nodded.

"Did you come to my funeral?" He asked her as she looked at him.

"You realise you're probably the only person in the world who can say that out loud?" She nodded.

"I'm sure I'm not the first person to have faked a death. And I won't be the last." Theo said.

"Yes, I went to your funeral." Cassie rolled her eyes, "Ridiculous saying that out loud."

"Was it as depressing as that?" Theo asked her as she looked up at him.

"Pretty much, yeah." Cassie nodded, "I went with my dad. Cried like a baby." She said as he nodded, "Then I went home and cried some more. Really not all that enjoyable." She shook her head.

"I wish I could have done something else. When I signed up to it, we weren't all that close yet, we were still just friends who were sleeping with each other." He shrugged.

"How do you even sign up to something like that?" Cassie shook her head.

"You just sort of get thrown into it." Theo said, "Kinda sucks when you realise you're in love with someone just before it all goes down." He said, "Kinda did feel like I was dying."

"Yeah well it felt like that to me." Cassie said, approaching their car.

"Does make you appreciate life when you go to a funeral, huh?" He nodded to her.

"It does." Cassie agreed, "Kinda ironic." She said as he wrapped his arms around her waist.

"Where are you on the baby situation right now?" He wondered.

"Same place." She nodded to him.

"I thought so." Theo said, "I wanna make a little baseball team here." He pouted as she chuckled.

"Well you ain't making it in my womb." Cassie shook her head, "At least not right now."

"What's the cons?" He asked.

"Well Chase is still young and I… I do want to focus on my career. I don't wanna be getting my nails into something and then I have to go off and have a baby." She shook her head, "I'm not saying never. Just… not right now." She said.

"Well… you're the boss." He nodded as she smiled, wrapping her arms around his neck, "The baseball team can wait." He shrugged as she laughed a little.

"Baseball team? One more is fine with me." Cassie laughed.

"Two more." Theo challenged.

"One." Cassie raised a brow.

"Twins?" Theo raised his brows higher.

"You can't plan twins." She shoved him, "And absolutely not, anyway." She shook her head.

"One more kid and a dog then." He debated as she rolled her eyes.

"Just get in the car." She laughed to herself, getting into the car as he got in behind the wheel too.

Punk got finished with work later that night, heading to AJ's work, taking the elevator up to the floor she worked on and making his way into her office.

He looked around for the red folder she'd requested, smiling at the pictures of the girls on her desk, looking in her drawers and finally finding the red folder.

"Jesus Christ, Ape." Punk scoffed, feeling how heavy the folder was, sitting it down on the desk just as the office door opened.

He looked up, looking across at Joey. He could see on his face that he expected it to be AJ in the office, which amused and angered him at the same time. It was a strange place to be in, after all these years with his wife, knowing that some other man was clearly showing interest in her.

"Looking for someone?" Punk asked with a raised brow, arrogantly of course.

"I uh… I thought it was April." Joey nodded to him, "I saw the lights on."

"You need her for something?" Punk asked him.

"Uh… no, no just coming to check about some email I've to send." Joey said, "I can catch up with her when she's back in." He nodded.

"From what I know, you two do separate work." Punk said, standing out from behind the desk.

"Well… we do but help goes a long way." He laughed a little as Punk stared at him with a blank face, "Look, man… I get you probably know what happened between me and April-"

"I do. Nothing happened." Punk shrugged as Joey looked at him.

"Well… not nothing I would say." Joey said, "But I promise I just value her as a friend. Man to man. I'm not like that." He nodded as Punk just smiled a little.

"Don't stand there and explain to me what you are to my wife. My wife." Punk walked closer to him slowly, "I don't care about what you do as long as it doesn't harm or affect my wife. She's already expressed to me slight discomfort she feels with you being around. And that kinda bothers me just a little." He nodded.

"Well with all due respect, I have a job to do here. If April has a problem with me, she's big enough to come talk to me about it." Joey said, coming face to face Punk.

"Or you and I can just talk about it." Punk shrugged, "Or better, you could just leave her alone. Read the room." Punk nodded.

"Look I don't know why you feel threatened by me but it's kinda worrying since you've been with your wife for a long time. I'm pretty sure you should trust her-"

"I trust her." Punk assured him, "I trust her with my life. I don't trust you. I don't know you." Punk said.

"So that gives you a right to interrogate me? Intimidate me?" Joey asked.

"Hey, if you're intimidated that's not my problem." Punk said, "But I'm warning you, stay away from my wife. She's kind and good, so maybe she wouldn't say this to you but… she doesn't need you coming into her office every day, checking in on her, sending her emails when she's got a day off." Punk said, all which AJ had told him about.

"Well… maybe you've just not got a lot of friends." Joey shrugged smugly, "Cause that's what friends do."

"I got friends." Punk chuckled a little, "Some have been to prison." He nodded as Joey looked at him.

"Didn't think you'd play the thug card." Joey said.

"Now, I don't wanna mess up this nice suit of yours." Punk tutted, patting the suit down as Joey backed up a little, "But don't call me that." He warned as Joey looked at him, "This is your warning. You'll only get one." Punk nodded, grabbing the red folder from the table, switching the lights off and leaving the office as Joey stood in the dark room angrily.
