"Ryohei-oniichan got a ring and a message inside an envelope."
Naruto stared at Kyoko with blank eyes as their fellow students walked pass them. When Kyoko told her that there was some information that she might want to hear, this might not have been what she expected from her. She looked down at her bento before flickering her eyes back to the frowning girl across her.
The golden-brown haired girl placed her bento down on her lap and pulled out an envelope from the pocket of her jacket. It was a simple white, cheap envelope and Naruto figured that this was not the original letter. The blonde put down her own food and took the offered envelope from her subordinate's hand.
"This isn't the original letter, is it?" The blonde asked. It would be interesting if Kyoko had been reckless enough to steal the original letter from her brother. Then again I doubt her brother would even notice a message is missing…he isn't well-known for being a reader. She curled her lips into a thin smile.
Kyoko shook her head and stared at her with troubled eyes. She doesn't like the contents of this message. Naruto thinned her smile even more and looked down at the envelope. A ring signified the fact Kyoko's brother had been chosen as one of Tsuna's Guardian. She held back a snort as the image of the loud male with her ally.
"I copied everything in the message that Ryohei-oniichan left behind," Kyoko answered. I can see that from your handwriting. Naruto stopped herself from spilling this piece of information and only skimmed through the information. "I didn't understand everything but I understand that Ryohei-oniichan is going to fight some bad guys and that he has some important ring."
It doesn't tell us what type of ring he has. Naruto grimaced as her eyes lingered on the piece of information about bad guys coming after 10 days. If they were going to come in ten days then she would have to gather as much information as she could get. This type of information might be important to Hibari but Reborn would tell him eventually.
He better or Naruto was going to have a couple of words about favoritism. Just because Hibari can take care of himself, doesn't mean he doesn't have the right to know anything. She curled her lips into a frown and exhaled. The older teen was very powerful compared to any of the chosen guardians but he still needed a heads up. She shook her head and looked at the curious girl.
"Your brother is going to fight the same people who attacked Sawada, Yamamoto and Gokudera yesterday," Naruto informed Kyoko. Since the girl worked under her and this did involve her beloved brother after all. If Hibari hadn't shown me the ring then I would have been absolutely clueless about his involvement…and I would have been pissed off. She flickered her eyes to the roof.
Was her partner considering of what his next steps were? Was he going to train after what she informed him? Naruto took a deep breath and rubbed the back of her neck. But he can't train by himself and Reborn knows how dangerous it can be. She thinned her lips into a very thin line. But who would Reborn consider training her partner? The guy would have a problem talking to him.
Hibari is going to attack him immediately especially now that he knows he is going to be dealing with crowding. Her lips twitched into an amused smile and the blonde shook her head. He was going to be having a lot of fun if he could fight an opponent that was a lot more slower than her. She quirked her lips into a small smile.
"Ryohei-oniichan and Tsuna-kun are going to fight really strong opponents, aren't they?" Kyoko asked softly. The golden-eyed girl bored her eyes right at her as if she thought that was the way to get her to answer her questions. It was better than her sparkle smiles that made her head ached like there was no tomorrow.
Naruto looked down at the forged letter and then to her bento. Really strong, huh? Her lips twitched as she recalled the wounds sustained by the male that fought against Tsuna's enemy. She did not know much about the injuries or the male's strength, but it would be safe to presume that the opponent was strong.
The opponent isn't just strong but a member of the Vongola Familigia too as Tsuna told me. The blonde thinned her lips and tilted her head to the side as Kyoko looked at her. She did not know anything else and Naruto doubt Tsuna would tell her anything. Hibari would tell her but she doubt that they would give him the full version of events.
They would have to go to the boy who fought that strong opponent.
"Yes," she answered. Her blue eyes locked eyes with Kyoko and the golden-brown haired girl grimaced. I guess I should reassure her since I don't want her to be allowing her emotions to dictate her actions. Naruto sighed and tilted her head upwards. "But Reborn is going to make sure that your brother, Tsuna and the other guardian survive against their opponents."
Kyoko nodded and regarded her with thoughtful eyes. A couple of months ago, she would have smiled and be happy with her response but the girl was starting to think for herself. It was good if you asked her. If her subordinate accepted everything then it meant the girl hadn't been taking the training to heart.
Golden eyes flashed with consideration and Naruto raised a single eyebrow at her. What was going through that girl's mind? Her eyes was calm as her eyes flickered to the envelope. Her eyebrows knitted together, forming into one straight line. There must be several questions running through her mind. The thought relaxed her shoulders and the blonde waited for her subordinate to answer her.
"What is so important about this ring that they are willing to kill people?" Kyoko asked, curling her lips into a frown. She tilted her head and looked at her like she might have the answer to her questions. It is a symbolism of protecting the next boss. Naruto rubbed the sides of her head as the golden-brown haired girl looked straight at her. "What made them consider Ryohei-oniichan? I love my brother but he is a boxer."
They pick people that they think is close to Sawada. She picked up an octopus-shaped sausage and considered the girl carefully. That was one of the criteria but there was another criteria when she thought about it. Yamamoto ranked number three in that list Reborn showed her while Gokudera ranked number four. Ryohei ranked number six. The blonde bobbed her head and took bite of her sausage.
That list helped the criteria when she thought about it because if it had been just closeness then Kyoko or Haru would have been chosen. Naruto bobbed her head and locked eyes with the golden-brown haired girl. But there might have been a criteria that she did not know about. The blonde knitted her eyebrows together and exhaled.
"His closeness to Tsuna had been one factor but I don't know the other factor," Naruto answered. Her subordinate nodded, not questioning her about her lack of response, and the whiskered girl leaned against the bench. She took a deep breath, allowing her ribs stretched till it cracked. "But that ring symbolizes the person is worthy of protecting the next boss and not everyone is happy that Sawada inherited the position."
But the thing that I'm still trying to figure out who is the other heir? And why not choose him over Sawada in the first place? Naruto rubbed her chin and looked to Kyoko. Worry shone through the girl's eyes and her shoulders trembled but no tears leaked out of her eyes. The girl kept taking in deep breaths as if it would help her to calm down.
It probably did.
Shaking her head, the blonde knitted her eyebrows together. Even if there was another possible candidate, why now? Why not before Reborn came into Tsuna's life? Nothing added up. Naruto thinned her lips and pulled out her phone from the pocket of her skirt. It would be difficult for her to interrogate the boy in the hospital when Iemitsu made that proposition for her.
"They are going to murder them, aren't they?" Kyoko asked quietly. Fear leaked through her tone and the blonde looked away from her phone to look at the girl beside her. Most likely because I would do that to consolidate my power. She thinned her lips and looked straight to the other girls chatting without a care in the world.
She rubbed the back of her neck and exhaled as her mind tried to make sense of everything. What did she know? The other heir wanted Sawada and his future guardians dead. The other heir was not chosen for some reason but they must have some power in the Vongola Family. But what is their position? Why wasn't this person considered the first time? They needed some form of information.
"What better way to consolidate their power?" Naruto answered. Her subordinate grimaced and shook her head while the blonde looked up to the clear blue sky. It must be tough for the girl. The possibility her brother could be murdered by those bastards must make her want to vomit and the girl had a sickly green tone to her skin…she did not vomit.
It was better she didn't vomit since the whiskered girl had no desire to clean the vomit.
"Do you know who is the other possible heir?" Kyoko whispered. Golden eyes gleamed with determination and her nostrils flared as if she wanted to murder the other heir before they could get to her sibling and friend. I wish she is strong enough but Haru and her still has a long way to go. A sigh escaped her lips and the blonde looked up at the rooftop.
While it would be tempting for her to just simply kill the other heir, it wouldn't help Sawada and his future guardians in the long run. No one will respect them. Sawada might not mind but she did. If her organization had to fall under him, then the boy needed to earn her respect along with so many other people.
But first she would have to figure out what on Earth was happening inside the Vongola Family.
"No but I'm going to find out as much as I can with the other possible heirs," Naruto informed her. Kyoko raised a single eyebrow, looking more curious to know how she planned to do it. Neither Kyoko and Haru are ready while Haku needs to stay here…since it will get messy. She could go in but how much information could she get? The blonde hummed and looked up to their second year floor.
Ino would be good for the job because of her clan's jutsu. She rubbed the sides of her head and took a deep breath. That would have to be drastic resort and a deal would have to be made if the situation went that dire for them. Naruto grimaced. The whiskered girl rubbed the back of her neck and exhaled before pressing Haku's contact.
Haku, I need you to interrogate your patient.
The only downside of her protecting Lambo meant she couldn't waste a single chakra on something as simple as interrogation.
"It is nice to see that you are doing well, Basil."
Haku flipped through the charts on his patient's bed as blue eyes blinked at the sight of him. He skipped his afternoon classes to do what Naruto requested of him but it was rather odd. Naruto-sama is very invested in what is happening with Tsuna-sama and the last time she was this invested was with what happened in Kokuyo Land. He sighed and shook his head.
Basil stared at him with knitted eyebrows, flickering his eyes from the doors to him. It was weird for someone to lock the door, but Haku doubt Naruto would be pleased with him if he allowed anyone to overhear their conversation. He sighed and relaxed his shoulders as those blue eyes continued to look at him with confusion.
"Who are thee?" Basil asked as he pushed himself up on the bed, grimacing as he did so. Thee? Haku raised a single eyebrow at the male. It was a very old-fashion way of speaking and it was probably a good thing that Naruto was not the one interrogating him. His boss was a lot of things but she was not well-known for being patient with old-fashion speech.
I wasn't able to heal all of his wounds. Haku closed his eyes and took a deep breath as the boy continued to wince. There had been too many wounds from his battle with the male who targeted Tsuna. The wounds spoke to him that the opponent knew how to use a sword. The sword was not as thick as Zabuza's sword since the wounds weren't as deep.
"My name is Yuki Haku but you can call me Haku," Haku answered. The younger boy nodded and the brown-haired teen regarded the male. That introduction would not be enough for the boy to tell him what he wanted later. Mentioning Naruto-sama won't help but Tsuna-san will help. He offered him a smile. "I'm the person who healed the majority of your severe wounds and Tsuna-san's friend."
Basil blinked and relaxed his shoulders before nodding his head. The answer was acceptable in his eyes since he was not trying to accuse him of those words. Besides I'm not lying since Tsuna-sama will consider me as a friend and I did heal him. He did help out Tsuna whenever he needed one of his friends or allies to be healed. But Naruto did make Tsuna pay for his healing services.
So it rather depended on how Tsuna saw him but well Basil could confront Tsuna as soon as the doctors gave him the okay.
"Thank thee for helping me, Haku-dono," Basil said, forcing himself to bow slightly. Haku held his hand out and pushed the younger male back down onto the bed, wrinkling his nose at the title given to him. It would do no one any good if the male wounds reopened again. The younger male offered him an apologetic smile before resting back down onto the bed.
Why does he keep talking like one of those old-fashioned poems I'm forced to read in high school? Haku rubbed the back of his neck and eyed the male who smiled widely at him. Was this normal? He had been in this country for six months now, but this was the first time he heard someone talk like this. Maybe he should question Naruto about this.
She would know what to make of his odd speech.
"I find it very interesting that your wounds came from a sword," Haku commented. Blue eyes widened at his observation and the long-haired teen beamed at him. In his time of working with Zabuza, he did learn a lot about swords. Besides my talents lies elsewhere and Naruto-sama acknowledge it like Zabuza did it. He sighed. "But I'm more curious to know more about the people targeting Tsuna-san and his friends."
Basil narrowed his eyes at him and poked his tongue against his cheeks as if uncertain of whether to tell him or not. Haku kept the smile plastered on his face. It was easy to understand his uncertainty. If he informed him then the teen must be concerned over whether or not he would be betraying his organization.
If he didn't protect Tsuna-san then I would go for the harsher ways of interrogation. Haku sighed as his eyes flickered down to his kunai and senbons resting against his socks before looking back at him. This boy was an ally to Tsuna and torturing him would get him into trouble with both his boss and client. That was something he would like to avoid. So the gentle ways of getting information had to be done.
"Reborn-san didn't tell you?" Basil questioned. Haku allowed the plastered smile to falter into a frown and the blue-eyed boy darted his own eyes to the windows. The long-haired teen looked down at the troubled boy and Basil shook his head. "Or Sawada-dono? I'm sure that Master would have told his son by now."
Haku regarded the younger male and sighed at those words. A bitterness crept up to his tongue as he recalled his own intense loyalty to Zabuza. This boy was no different from him. This young boy loved his master to the point that he might be willing to die for him and the knowledge almost made him guilty for his line questioning. Almost was the key word. But this was a job and Naruto requested he did this well.
He was probably the best person for the job since he had been in this boy's shoes. What would drive this boy to talk was anything that would benefit his Master and his happiness. The boy would do anything to protect him because his Master must have been his savior. Haku took a deep breath and shoved the lingering sadness inside of his heart into a chest.
There was a time to grieve and this was not the time for him to grieve.
"I don't know if your Master has told Tsuna-san but I do know Reborn has only told Tsuna-san that the people came from the Vongola Familigia," Haku informed the boy. Basil knitted his eyebrows together and the former shinobi locked eyes with him. "But if Reborn hasn't told him the whole story, then I doubt your Master would make things clear about those people from the Vongola Familigia."
Blue eyes inspected him like he was uncertain of whether to believe him or not. Haku darted his eyes down to his kunai and senbons before looking back at Basil. How should he go about this? If the boy does not talk then he would have to go for the more violent forms of interrogation. The brown-haired teen sighed at the thought and offered the teen a smile.
Basil stared right into his brown eyes as if he was trying to figure out whether to tell him the truth or not. Haku only offered him a smile, waiting for the male to make his decision. He would rather not go for the kunai inside his socks or the other method, but if it meant that he would get the information then so be it.
"Why does thee want to know?" Basil finally asked. "If Master or Reborn-san hasn't told thee or Sawada-dono then why must I tell thou?"
Haku rubbed his chin and regarded the male. What must he say to convince the male to part with the information? It had to be something believable and definitely something that would make the boy willing to part with the information. His loyalty and love to his master was something that he would have to take into consideration.
What would happen if Tsuna does not know everything? He would probably feel betrayed and lay the blame on his father. The younger boy was a lot of things, but Haku would admit the boy could not see the bigger picture without some guidance from Reborn or even Naruto. Not knowing anything would strain the relationship between father and son.
He doesn't know how Tsuna would feel but Haku presumed Tsuna's father would be upset.
"Because your Master and Reborn-san will regret if you don't tell Tsuna-san or all of his friends the truth," Haku informed him. Basil frowned and looked like he was almost considering of whether to tell him the truth or not. The long-haired teen almost smiled but he held himself back. Just a little bit more and he could convince the boy to part with the information. "They will be pleased and grateful if you correct their mistakes."
Those blue eyes turned thoughtful and eager at those words and Haku looked up at the ceiling. He did not know whether or not Basil's master would be pleased but he did know Reborn would be amused of the way Naruto was doing things. That toddler did find it amusing whenever Naruto demand money from Tsuna.
Well he guessed Reborn was more amused by the way Tsuna would flay his arms around and protest at the prices Naruto gave.
"The man is called Squalo Superbia," Basil finally said. The brown-haired teen slumped his shoulders and tightened his hands around his hospital blankets. Blue eyes looked down at his blankets while Haku continued to observe the male. "He is the second-in-command of the Varia Squad."
Second-in-command implies that he is very strong. Haku curled his lips into a very thin line as Basil continued to stare at him. If Naruto knew about this then what was she going to do with this piece of information? He exhaled. No. This was not a topic for him to think about. Even if he gathered this much information, there was still some things that he was not at all clear about.
He knew Naruto would be very disappointed with him if he didn't get all the facts. I doubt Naruto-sama knows what the Varia is. Haku rubbed the back of his neck and exhaled. If his boss had no idea of what the Varia was then he imagined she would get stressed from not knowing anything about the squad. He sighed and nodded.
"What is the Varia squad?" Haku asked. The name sounded weird but a squad implied a team.
Basil grimaced, not looking pleased at the question. I'm guessing the Varia aren't a simple squad. Haku flickered his eyes to the window and exhaled. If that squad was not simple then Naruto was going to make sure that the training the girls and Lambo more severe. It was better for everyone if his boss and him increased the intensity of their training.
Increasing the intensity of their training would mean he would have to skip school but that would be fine for him. Zabuza-sama taught me everything that I learnt in that civilian school. He enjoyed going to school when it came to subjects that he had never studied before. Their literature was interesting if you asked him alongside their history.
"The Varia is an elite independent assassination squad," Basil answered. Elite independent assassination squad. That hinted the squad might be the equivalent to the ANBU of the hidden villages. Haku grimaced and looked out to the window. Naruto-sama is going to be scheming when she finds this out. He sighed and the blue-eyed boy sighed. "The leader of the Varia is Xanxus-dono and he is the youngest son of the Ninth."
Haku raised a single eyebrow at this piece of information. Now that is a piece of news that would interest Naruto-sama. The 17-year-old boy held back a smile as those blue eyes continued to stare at him. There was a name for him to attach to the leader who ordered the attack against Tsuna and his friends.
Naruto-sama can't say I haven't done my job properly.
"So the boss is called Xanxus and he sent his second-in-command Squalo to attack Basil and Sawada?"
Haku nodded and Naruto looked down at the plate of cookies on the table. She picked up the cookie and nibbled it, allowing the sweet chocolatey goodness to melt in her mouth as she processed the information. Xanxus was the son of the Ninth Boss and yet his father chose Tsuna over him. That made no sense if you asked her.
A crumble of her cookie fell down and the blonde picked it up. There are pieces like this cookie but I can't connect everything. She knitted her eyebrows together and rubbed the sides of her head. A father should always have faith in their own child but Ninth didn't pick his youngest son. He chose Tsuna over his own son and that would make no sense for her.
"The Varia is also an elite assassination group," Haku reminded her. His brown eyes inspected her as if he was trying to figure out about her feelings on this piece of a reminder. Naruto hummed and took another cookie. How did she feel about the knowledge that Tsuna, Hibari and the other guardians were targeted by them? Furious was the word.
If Tsuna, Gokudera or Yamamoto died then her cash flow would go away and that was unforgivable in her eyes. But it isn't just them that is affected…Hibari is being targeted by them. Naruto kept her expression completely blank as grey eyes flashed before her eyes. Hibari was strong. He was amazingly strong for someone who was just a civilian but he wasn't perfect.
There was a potential for him to be murdered by those people. I don't think I can hold the Kyuubi back if something happens to him. She knew it was illogical. It would be illogical to lose her emotions over something like this but he was special to her. He was her ally, her friend and her partner. She could not lose him.
"I would rather have you unleash me in a village filled with ungrateful humans and not in a town like this because your lover is going to get himself killed," The Kyuubi commented dryly. Naruto felt the ends of her ears burning at that comment and the blonde quickly lowered her head. She took several deep breaths as Haku tilted his head, brown eyes regarding her with amusement.
"Lovers imply that Kyoya and me at least reached third base…we are still on the first base," Naruto growled at the monster. When did they reach the stage of her talking about her sexual relationship with Hibari? Was this even normal? If only there was another jinchuuriki that she could discuss these issues with. "So Hibari and me are partners."
The Kyuubi snorted.
"How many times have there been a close call between the two of you?" The beast asked dryly. Naruto groaned as memories of the last seven months flashed through her eyes. "I'm getting concerned of what you will do in 10 days since your birthday is nearby. I hope you realize that if you don't control yourself at second base then it is harder at third base and that would lead…to a homerun."
Naruto looked down at the table and wished for the table to swallow her up. Why must the Kyuubi talk about her sexual life? It did not involve him at all. What happened between Hibari and her was none of his business! And yes she did know everything that he was commenting about. But they were careful and…this was not the time for her to be discussing these things.
"Their opponents are going to be tough," Naruto commented outloud. She took several deep breaths as Haku continued to stare at her. She was definitely not going to tell her subordinate that she was talking to the beast inside of her stomach. She grimaced and pushed the plate of cookies straight to her subordinate.
Haku raised a single eyebrow at her as if asking her if that was really went through her mind. She narrowed her eyes, daring him to make a comment but the boy only shook his head. That was good. She was definitely not going to talk about her romantic relationship with Hibari to him when they were discussing about the other issue at hand.
Once the whole Varia thing cleared up then she would tell him about Hibari and her.
"But it is weird that the Ninth chose Tsuna-sama over his own son and then change his mind about it, isn't it?" Haku asked. Those brown eyes looked thoughtful as he took a bite of the cookie. His eyes flickered to the bedroom where he temporarily shared with Lambo. Naruto guessed the fact that he was worried about the young boy.
It had been difficult to convince Lambo to stay over with them since he was attached to Tsuna's mother. But the moment the blonde told the toddler that he could see Nana after twenty days and that they were going to have some fun together. It is a good thing that Team 10 are sleeping in their respective rooms. She sighed and considered what Haku asked.
Was it weird that he changed his mind? Naruto rubbed the back of her neck and looked down at the cookies. She did not know what kind of man the Ninth was and for all she knew he might be the whimsical type. Or maybe he is not since it took him this long to act. The whiskered girl picked up a cookie and chewed on the cookie.
"It is weird," Naruto finally answered, swallowing down the cookie crumb. Her eyes flickered to the door where Team 10 stayed and relaxed her shoulders when she felt no movement from their chakra. It seems like they are still asleep. She exhaled. "But we don't know if the Ninth had chosen Xanxus now. Xanxus might be acting alone for all we know."
Haku nodded and rubbed the back of his neck while she looked up at the ceiling. Acting alone sounds plausible too but what really is getting to me is why did the Ninth chose Tsuna over his own son? She folded her legs together and picked up her cookie. What was so special about Tsuna? There was something that was not making sense.
We need to know more about Xanxus backstory and his personality. Naruto took a sip of her milk and looked to the window. There had to be an explanation that she could use to explain the events. But who could she ask? Reborn? Iemitsu? Those two would know more about the man who leads the Varia. She hummed and swirled her glass of milk.
"What are we going to do?" Haku asked. His brown eyes locked onto her as if demanding for her to make a decision and the blonde leaned against the chair. What can we do? This is a very messy situation that we have to tread lightly. She swirled the glass of milk and exhaled. Reborn and Iemitsu would know that she had more information on the situation and she had no plans of revealing her cards.
But that note says that they have 10 days and that means he is coming too. Naruto pressed her lips into a very thin line and ran her hands through her long blond hair. Could she wait 10 days? Or should she act quicker? She sighed. Getting information from Reborn would be difficult and Iemitsu did not seem the type to divulge information like this willingly.
Besides, she needed the funding and support from Iemitsu. God, I hate when my hands are tied. She longed to growl but that would give away her level of frustration to her subordinate. She sighed and looked down at her glass of milk. There was only one option if you asked her and this was not the option she wanted.
"They are going to come in 10 days and once they come and that is when we start investigating," Naruto declared. Haku nodded, raising his eyebrow at the timeframe and she waved her hand at him. Her whole body ached and her head throbbed too, so this was not the time for her to explain everything to him. "They are going to be safe since I doubt Reborn will get them killed. He better has a plan or god help me I will kill him."
The last part was supposed to be said in her mind but her temper was rising up like a volcano. Was she angry because she had to wait? Or angry because Reborn was going to make Hibari face assassins? Maybe it was both. Hibari was strong. He would be able to survive and win against a couple of assassins and she believed in him.
He is very capable of surviving through this. She took in a deep breath and flickered her eyes to her own phone. Should she ask him if he was going to train? No. It was a stupid question for her to ask him since Reborn knew Hibari's capabilities. She had to believe in Hibari. She had to be a logical and not let some emotion like worry to cloud her judgment.
"Hibari-san is involved, isn't he?" Haku asked. Naruto jerked her head at him and the brown-eyed teen looked faintly amused. Am I obvious? She wanted to hunch her shoulders and deny it but it was pointless. Her subordinate was going to find out eventually and she did not want to make a habit of lying to him.
She nodded and looked at her amused subordinate. He is pleased that he figured out a clue. The blonde took a deep breath and combed through her hair as her blue eyes inspected Haku. It was good that he figured it out, but how did the boy figure out that Hibari was involved? Nothing came out of her mouth that indicated the older boy was involved.
"How did you figure out Hibari is involved?"
Haku quirked his eyebrows at her and looked faintly amused by her question. He took a bite of the cookie and slid the plate right back at her. Was he going to hold the information over her? She kept her emotions in check when talking about Tsuna. Her blue eyes locked onto the room that Haku shared with Lambo and thinned her lips into a very thin line.
"Because you like Hibari-san and I know the last time you got this worried was when Hibari went to Kokuyo Land without you."
Naruto slumped her shoulders and quirked her lips into a smile. When the boy put things into that perspective then yes it made sense for him to ask if Hibari was involved. I guess worry is an emotion that you can't control with logic. She sighed and slumped her shoulders as her blue eyes locked onto the window.
Worry was an emotion that she was willing to admit but the word like was not the emotion that she would describe her feelings for Hibari. It was more intense if you asked her. Liking someone meant liking them skin deep and she likes Hibari for more than his appearance. She likes his grumpiness with crowds and she adores the little ways that he shows his affection to her.
He accepted her imperfections and her boundaries. Naruto paused and chewed on her bottom lip. Was that love? She didn't know. Was it even soon for her to develop those kind of feelings? She knew he did care about his brother. The Disciplinary Committee was proof of it alongside his hatred for anything Yakuza.
"Young Naruto-neechan, you should start taking the 10-year-bazooka from my younger self when he sleeps." Naruto blinked and twisted her head around, blue eyes widening at the sight of an older version of Lambo standing behind her. He was busy. She tilted her head to the side as her blue eyes caught sight of faint pink lipsticks mark on his lips and neck. "I was on a wonderful date!"
She didn't know whether to be amused over the fact Older Lambo had been in a middle of something or be worried over what the toddler might be going through. I'm going to confiscate that bazooka away from him and give it back to him in the morning. A grimace played on her lips as Older Lambo took the seat across her.
"This is the first time that I babysat your younger self throughout the whole night," Naruto commented. Haku swirled his head at her, eyebrows shooting up to his hairline and the blonde sighed. There were a lot of things that she needed to explain to the boy and there was only so much time in the world. "But you switched in a good time, Lambo."
I should have told him when I picked up Lambo, but I didn't know Lambo has a habit of using that bazooka in his sleep. The blonde shook her head and took a sip of her milk while Older Lambo took a bite of the cookies. Haku kept flickering his eyes between them and the whiskered girl sighed. It seemed like the boy was not going to wait for a long time for her explanation.
"Lambo has a bazooka that allows him to switch between his current self and his 10-year-later self," she finally explained. Older Lambo nodded his head and flashed a bright smile to Haku. Those green eyes looked at Haku with a laziness and a knowingness that made the blonde pause. She sighed and rubbed the back of her neck.
Her eyes flickered to the doors and her head ached, when she sensed the flicker in the chakra in both Choji and Shikamaru's room alongside her own room. They are listening in, aren't they? Her temper rose at the thought. Older Lambo paled as if he knew what was the emotion going through her mind.
It was possible since he was probably close to her future self.
"You know I'm very disappointed with your capabilities as shinobi! So come out of your damn rooms!" Naruto roared. Haku quirked his lips into a smile while Older Lambo moved the chair backwards. She should keep her tone cold but she was not in a good mood. "I hate people who listens in on private conversations especially in such an obvious way! Next time hide your damn chakra properly!"
