But Shinobu had also always been aware of the weight in Tanjirou's eyes. He makes her want to look back, and she does, before she's even aware of it herself.
And it isn't that Tanjirou is lacking. No, Tanjirou deserved far more, far better, and Shinobu just couldn't offer him anything.
