"Oh my God! I can't believe it!" Spider-Man dropped to his knees and turned Curt over. He was lightly tapping his cheeks, shaking his shoulders, any effort to wake him up.

"How do ya know him?" Raph asked, impatience rising in his voice.

Spider-Man didn't answer right away, still focused on trying to wake up the stranger. How did he know someone inside a Kraang facility? Was there something he wasn't telling us?

"He's your friend," Leo said slowly. Spider-Man stopped what he was doing, "Isn't he? The one you came here with a year ago?"

Ah. Of course. That would make sense. Well, it almost did, "I thought you said he died?"

"He said his friend was shot with one of those Kraang laser guns," Mikey corrected, seeming a little proud that he remembered that detail, especially when Spider-Man agreed with him.

"I thought he was dead! He passed out and I couldn't carry him. I… I had to leave him behind."

I couldn't imagine that kind of pain. Thinking someone close to me in my life was dead and being unable to bring them home. I didn't think I could leave one of my brothers behind, even if it meant I would die too. That didn't seem right.

"Why would they keep a dead guy around?" Mikey asked, clearly without thinking about his wording. Leo slapped his arm and glared as if to say, Shut up?!

But it was a curious question. Would the Kraang hang onto a deceased human for research purposes?

"I don't think he's dead," Donnie said, "Just asleep."

"How can we wake him up?" Leo asked.

Spider-Man shook Curt's shoulders again, nearly shouting his name.

Donnie furrowed his brow line, kneeling beside Spider-Man, "I mean, it could just take time. Or perhaps he's got some kind of sleep induced drug in his system that's keeping him under. I'm not sure."

"How about this?" Mikey held up an open fist.

"Wait!" We shouted but before we could stop him, he dropped to his knee and hit the center of Curts chest. The second he did, Curts eyes were wide open, coughing and heaving.

"How did you know you do that?" I asked, still a bit shocked by the successfulness of the impromptu action.

My brother shrugged, "I saw it in a movie once."

Curt had his eyes open when I looked back down at him. He was staring at the masked face in front of him, then up at my brothers and I. Bewildered was a good word for the expression he had on. Bewilderment and complete confusion. Maybe some shock while we were at it. Definitely scared, judging by the tears welling in his eyes. Poor guy had no idea what was going on. I couldn't judge how waking up to this was going for him.

Curt squinted, "Who are you? Who… who are you people? Please just let me go," He almost whimpered, "I promise won't come back here again."

"We ain't gonna hurt ya, kid," Raph said awkwardly. I was surprised he even spoke at all. Comfort wasn't his forte, especially with strangers.

"You're not?" He asked quietly, very confused now, "But we broke into this place… My friend and I… Oh! Peter! Where's Peter?"

Peter.

"Hey, Curt," Spider-Man said softly, a tone I hadn't heard him use before. He spoke like Curt was a small child.

Curt turned to Spider-Man, frowning, "Peter? Why are you wearing those pajamas?"

Mikey almost snickered, "Those aren't his pajamas, dude. He's wearing his superhero suit!"

I cringed. That wasn't my brother's story to explain. Spider-Man… Peter, needed to be the one to tell Curt who he was now.

"Here, why don't you try to stand up first," Spider-Man offered a hand. Curt accepted cautiously, still glancing around at all of us. Leo silently had myself and the rest of our brothers back away to give the two old friends some space, "I, uh… I'm not sure where to start. It's kind of a long story. Um, these are my… friends."

It would be too hard to explain that we were just vigilante acquaintances. I mean, not hard but… hard? Curtis didn't seem to know about anything. There was a lot to comprehend, not a lot of time to talk about it, and who knew how Curt was going to handle it.

"Leonardo."

"Donatello."

"Raphael."

"I'm Michelangelo! But you can call me Mikey."

Curt seemed confused at the sight of me and before I could introduce myself, he said, "You're a human."

I felt my expression deadpan. Raph and Don exchanged odd faces between each other. Since when was someone weirded out with my appearance over the giant, extremely rare ninjutsu turtles standing beside me?

"Uh… ya. So are you. Incredible."

Curt shook his head, "Sorry, it's just that I've never seen another human in here. It's just those weird robot alien things."

"How much do you remember?" Spider-Man asked.

Curt dropped his chin to his chest, eyes squinting like he had a massive headache growing, "Uh. I remember the night we broke in. All of that. I remember a pain in my stomach where they had shot me. And then nothing."

"That's it?"

Curt shook his head but I could see that something was bothering him, "I remember some other things happening, little things. I thought they were some weird kind of dreams but I'm starting to think that they weren't actually dreams," I wondered what he remembered. He clearly didn't want to go into detail. Perhaps those dreams were memories of some very bad experiences which then made me wonder what they did to him in here, "But luckily I haven't been here that long. You came back with your… friends? How did you say you met them again? Are they from here?"

"They aren't from in here," Raph said with biting tone, "And they are still standin' here."

Spider-Man cleared his throat, "Like I said, that's kind of a long story."

"Well… blurt it out. I can't see how it could be that long of a story considering you and I have been here together," Curt laughed awkwardly, "Granted, I don't remember you wearing that or seeing your turtle friends around-"

"It's been a year, Curt," Spider-Man started off. He paused like he waited for a reaction and Curt delivered, shocked, "You were shot. And I thought you were dead. I managed to get out of here but remember that spider that bit me? It gave me these weird… abilities. I can climb on any surface. I have enhanced senses. I, uhm… I don't know. I started getting into some trouble with some bad people and used these abilities to stop them. I met these guys a few days ago. We have a common enemy in this alien things here, the Kraang. We infiltrated this place to get intel on who they are and what they're doing. Then we found you."

It was definitely the short version of a long story. I couldn't account on what Spider-Man had been through in the last year but the "getting into some trouble with bad people" was perhaps the biggest understatement. I mean, it would be a gross understatement if I told someone that. Us crime fighters don't exactly get it off easy.

Curt was very silent. His eyes flickered like a lightbulb losing its power, shifting from Spider-Man to anywhere but. His emotions clearly soared. I glanced at my brothers and I was sure we were all thinking the same thing, that this wasn't our discussion to be a part of. Leo nodded his head once off in the opposite direction, an indication to leave these two long lost friends and give them some privacy. We probably should have given it to them earlier.

"We need to get out of here," I muttered to the eldest, "I'm surprised no one has found us in here yet."

"Especially since the alarms are still going off," He agreed, glancing over his shoulder, "Let's give them a minute and then they'll have to wrap it up later. Don, what did you find on their system?"

Sudden shock covered both Donnie and I's expressions. The whole Curt situation kind of made us forget for a few moments that there was more going on here than we could understand.

"Uh, her," Don pointed to me, "She's in their system."

"She's what?" Raps whipped around to the purple banded turtle who was already headed for the computer again.

"Creepy," Mikey commented, "How does it feel to have so many admirers?"

I was confused. Boggled, even. But i was starting to get that weird sense of supine. Like, of course the Kraang knew something about me. Why wouldn't they? Every other fucking criminal around the town seemed to. I couldn't catch a break.

"I could do without one or two of them, honestly."

Leo looked to me, "You don't remember anything like this?"

I shook my head, "Donnie already asked that."

"I still find it hard ya believe ya can't remember any thing like this," Raph had his neck rained upwards at the huge tank of ooze in front of us.

His comment didn't have any snar but I couldn't help but snap back at him, "And I'll say it again, if I remembered anything I would have told you."

Before Raph could say anything, Curts voice had risen, "You left me to die, Peter! How could you?"

"It wasn't like that! I tried to-"

"You got powers! You got to come out of this as some kind of superhero while I was asleep in some weird ass container in an alien science lab!"

The argument was heating up, mostly from Curt if that hadn't been obvious. Peter was trying to defend his actions but it wasn't doing much good. I couldn't exactly blame Curt. If I was him- well, actually I have been him. I wouldn't want to hear an explanation of why I'd been here so long. I would have wanted to hear how someone had done everything they could to get me back after the fact. Even if Peter hadn't thought he'd been alive, he could at least give Curt the benefit of the doubt.

"Well, that doesn't sound good," Mikey stated. He made a face. Awkward.

Suddenly there was a banging at the lab doors. The Kraang had finally found us. Took them long enough.

"Neither does that," Leo said, "Don. Any way you can download the files on that system."

"Already working on that. I still need a few minutes though. Six to be exact. There's a lot on here."

Leo unsheathed his katanas, "Six minutes it is."

Up on the catwalk, Spider-Man was still trying to calm Curt down. As the Kraang broke through the doors, shooting, Leo budged me.

"Go help Spider-Man!"

Sure. I guess. I didn't really know why that order was annoying to me.

I ran up to the catwalk where Curt was still shoulders deep in screaming emotions, "You guys need to pause this cause we have company downstairs!"

Spider-Man seemed very aware of the situation but even with my voice in the mix, it still took Curt a few seconds to grasp what I said. Terrified clarity filled his expression once he finally set eyes on the Kraang fighting my brothers on the lower level.

"We need to get him out of here," Spider-Man said quickly.

I nodded, "We will. Don is downloading the files on the files on that computer and then we're out of here."

Curt yelled, pointing behind me. Kraang robots were moving fast up the stairs, "Stay behind us!" Spider-Man said to him.

I deflected what lasers I could. My instincts were trying to kick in, to dodge and get out of the line of fire but that wouldn't do much when I was trying to keep those shots from hitting Curt behind me. Spider-Man webbed from the ceiling and back down, dead in the center of their little group. It took some of the heat off myself and gave me a chance to stop defending and start attacking.

"How much longer Donnie?" I heard Leo yell.

"Four minutes!"

That was it? Only two minutes had passed since I'd been downstairs?

I sliced a Kraang robot in half, cringing as the weird pink brain thing crawled out of its stomach after it's host had fallen. It hissed at me and I felt like I was going to gag. It was just so disgusting and slimy. I punted it, not really thinking about it.

"Watch it!" Spider-Man yelped out, dodging just in time. He webbed the thing to catwalk.

"You're fine," I waved away his stare, trying to play it off, "You have good reflexes."

"Doesn't mean you can just kick little pink aliens at me!"

I ducked under the fist of Kraang, slicing my wakizashi at its knees. The robot fell instantaneously. My next swing decapitated it. It felt pretty good… kind of fun, actually. There was huge difference between using a sword on a bionic person versus a person of flesh and bone. While I was typically fighting for my own life, killing a Foot soldier or a Purple Dragon felt unhonorable. It made me a murderer and sometimes no better than my enemies themselves but against a Kraang, it didn't feel like that at all. I wasn't killing the Kraang. Only their robot hosts.

"Help me!"

I swung my head around, the entertainment I'd just been feeling was gone. Curt was being held hostage by both arms. Two Kraang were attempting to drag him away. Spider-Man heard the cry but was currently preoccupied by several Kraang.

I surged forward, knocking down the Kraang closest to me. The thing had such a grip on Curt that he was pulled down too. Both the Kraang were probably trying to stop circulation based on the pained expression Curt had.

"Don't move!" I swung my wakizashi down, cutting the first Kraangs arm clean off. Curt, still in pure panic mode, moved and I cut his arm as well. Not badly, but enough to leave a nice mark.

"Ow!"

"I said don't move!"

His mind was not in listening mode. His fight or flight was on verge and he squirmed on the ground, kicking at the other Kraang. While doing so, the Kraang kept his grip while still trying to fight me. I had a hard time getting any sort of hit in.

"Calm down, Curt! I got him!"

"No!"

Curt pushes away, kicking off from the Kraang in his frenzy. His action bumped into me, dangerously close to the edge of the catwalk. Before I could say anything, Curt kicked off again.

I felt my feet lose solid ground. I felt nothing but air for a moment. I heard a yell but I didn't know if it came from me or someone else.

And then a hand took my wrist. Spider-Man. He dangled from the catwalk holding on to me. The white eyes of his mask were wide.

"Curt!"

I looked down. I didn't see Curt but his landing was obvious by the splash in the large container of ooze below us.

If you're a fan of Spider-Man, then you know who Curt Connors is and what he becomes. I didn't really want to try to combine Otto Octavius and Curt Connors into one story so I was sure it made a little sense to use Curt as one of Spider-Mans friends. Don't worry, Harry Osborne will make a light appearance as well.

What do you think about the added Spider-Man storyline in a ninja turtle fan fiction? Yay? Nay? I can't help it. I have the hots for him! Obviously there will be something between Jade and Peter, but that won't happen for a little while at least.
