Chapter 30

Penny spent the rest of their honeymoon with morning sickness. Leonard was always by her side to comfort her every time she throws up or gets nauseated.

"Okay, I officially hate you now." she said as she sat beside the toilet while Leonard sat beside her. "You did this to me you jackass!" she glared at him.

Leonard didn't say anything knowing that Penny will snap at him if he responded. He just returned to rubbing her back and holding her hair when she threw up. He smiled at her hoping she would smile back.

"Why aren't you saying anything?" she asked him.

"Because I know that anything I say will make you angry….so I choose to stay quiet and stand by your side to make you feel better as much as I could." Leonard said trying to calm her down.

"I hate you more because you ruined our honeymoon….this is supposed to be our special time….now I have to spend half our time in this damn bathroom." she told him.

"Honey, no matter how much you hate me….I still can't get over at how happy I am that we're gonna have a baby…..It just makes me love you and our baby more." Leonard moved closer and put his arm around her.

"Ugh….why do you always have to say the right thing?" she rested her head on his shoulder.

"Because I love you and this baby is a blessing to us…..don't be sad honey…..remember we already had our honeymoon a couple of months ago when we visited your parent's house in Nebraska…..then we went to New York….you were so happy back then…." he said to her.

"Yeah I remember…..like it was yesterday…." she said as she buried her face on his neck. "not to mention when you came back from your trip and we spent one week at the beach….I was so surprised when you opened the door..." she smiled.

"I was so happy too…..now why don't we get back to bed…..we still have a snorkeling trip in the morning." Leonard said.

"Oh yeah right." she said as Leonard helped her stand up. "Do you think it won't hurt the baby?" she asked him as they make their way back to bed.

"I'm sure it's okay…..don't worry I have Dr. Miller's number…..I'll text him just to make sure." Leonard said.

They laid back on the bed while Penny snuggled up to Leonard. Penny felt relaxed as Leonard put his arm around her. They fell asleep in no time.

They spent the next few days of their honeymoon going to all the tourist spots on the island as long as it is safe for Penny. Leonard was on overdrive in taking care of Penny making sure that she's comfortable and eating the right food. It took a while for them to figure out what food Penny was able to hold down and what food she immediately gets sick of.

One time Leonard went out to buy Penny a fruit shake that she likes from a nearby shop. He came back and was surprised to see Penny wearing one of his t-shirts and sitting on the balcony looking over the coast.

"Uh honey, why are you wearing my t-shirt?" Leonard smiled and asked as he gave her the fruit shake.

"I like how it smells." she smiled as she took a sip of the fruit shake. She pulled Leonard in for a kiss. He sat beside her as they looked down on the coast.

"How long do you think we can hide this from the guys?" Leonard asked.

"I don't know….Amy and Bernadette will probably notice it first…." she said. Penny stood up and let Leonard sit on the chair. She then sat on his lap and wrapped her arm around him.

"Do you want to talk baby names?" he smiled at her.

"I don't know….don't you think it's too early?" she said.

"I know…..why don't we make a list of baby names and then we'll exchange…..how about it?" Leonard smiled at her.

"Yeah….like when we did that Beta Test when we started dating again right?" she said.

"You remember that?" he asked.

"Of course I remember….I was so mad at you for giving me that list that I wanted to shove it in your mouth…" she glared at him.

"Hey you made a pretty long list too remember?" he asked her back.

"Yeah….but that's in the past now….I'm just glad it worked out for us…." she kissed him.

"We haven't bought souvenirs for the guys yet." Leonard said.

"Yeah….I almost forgot….we'll buy them tomorrow…." Penny said as she hugged her husband.

They spent the last two days of their honeymoon buying souvenirs for the whole gang – t-shirts, mugs, key chains and other stuff to remember the time they spent there.

Penny was saddened that they are going back to California. "Don't be sad honey….it's not good for the baby." Leonard said to her as they started packing their luggage. "We can always come back here after our baby is born." he said.

"Really?" Penny asked him.

"Of course….but for now, we have to go home….I can only imagine the amount of work piled up on my lab right now…" he said. They continued packing their luggage for their trip back home tomorrow.

The next day, they were driven to the airport by Anthony.

"Thank you for driving us to the airport Anthony. We really appreciate it." Penny said from the back seat.

"It's not a problem Mrs. Hofstadter." Anthony smiled at them. "Are you still getting sick in the morning?" he asked.

"Sadly yes…." Penny said.

"It will pass….my wife had that too when she was pregnant with our daughter….she was so mad at me that she wanted to strangle me…." Anthony laughed.

"Same here Anthony." Leonard said. "My wife wanted to kill me!" he smiled.

"It's a good thing I didn't notice the baseball bat in the doctor's office….or else we would have stayed in the hospital for a different reason!" Penny said. Anthony laughed.

Leonard looked at Penny. "That's not funny." he said.

They arrived at the airport and Anthony helped them unload their luggage onto a baggage cart.

Leonard shook his hand. "Thank you Anthony!" he said as he gave him a ten dollar bill.

"No problem Mr. Hofstadter….have a safe trip and take care of that baby okay!?" Anthony said. Leonard nodded. Anthony walked back to the car while the couple made their way inside the airport. They checked-in their baggage and got their boarding passes in no time. They then made their way through immigration and final security check before going to the boarding gates. They found a couple of empty seats while waiting for the boarding call for their flight.

"Do you want me to get anything? Water? Juice? A sandwich?" he asked his wife.

Penny smiled at him. "An orange juice would be nice honey." she said. Leonard stood up and went to a nearby food stand to get Penny's drink. He came back and sat beside his wife. Penny leaned on his shoulder as she took a sip from the bottle. "You know I could get used to you pampering me like this honey….you might regret it…." she tightened her grip of Leonard's arm.

Leonard kissed her head. "I won't regret a minute of it…" he said.

Penny looked up to him and gave him a kiss. "I love you honey." she smiled at him.

Leonard smiled at her. "I know." he said to her.

The boarding call for their flight was announced and the couple made their way thru the gate connecting the airplane. They found their seats and put their carry-on bags in the overhead compartment. Penny took the aisle seat so she could go the bathroom easily. The flight crew went on with their preparations while checking the passengers. The plane began to taxi along the runway and in no time, the plane was on the air going to California. Penny leaned on her husband as she opened her IPad to read. Leonard put his hand on her knee and closed his eyes to get some sleep.
