I loved a good fight. No, I lived for a good fight. The fear of knowing I could die in a single hit made defeating my opponents all the more thrilling. But there wasn't anyone I knew I couldn't beat up easily, and I was now looking for more. Looking for a place where I could fight to my heart's content. A place where I could feel alive.

27. Chapter 26

It all started when Roman got a call from Junior telling us of a big job. We went down to his club and he had us sit in one of the soundproof rooms in the back.

" So Junior, what was so important you had us come all the way down here." asked Roman.

" A very big job." answered Junior flatly.

" Go on, as fun as your place is I'd rather not be here all night." said Roman.

" I had someone come down here to ask for a very specific piece of technology. They said they were willing to pay up to three hundred million lien to get their hands on it."

I widened my eyes. That was a huge job. three hundred million lien was about 10% of the entire budget for Vale's military, not counting Hunter missions.

" What's the catch ? " asked Roman. There was no way there wasn't one.

" The piece of tech they want is the very secret new project Atlas is currently working on." answered Junior.

" They want that gun ? Why ? " interrupted Roman.

" From what I can tell, they're afraid Atlas won't share it with the other Kingdoms. They don't want them to hold too much of an advantage." continued Junior.

" A good samaritan huh ? and a rich one, considering they're willing to pay so much." said Roman.

" You have no idea." said Junior with a smile. " The ones asking were military operatives."

Roman narrowed his eyes.

" How much do they know ? " he asked

" Not much. They asked for me to get someone to do it. They didn't care who, best if they don't know so they can claim to have had no part with us if we fail. They told me to use your company as a broker. They're supposed to contact you when it's done to set up the transaction." answered Junior

" So the job will actually earn us more." said Roman pensively. " Well, we have a scheduled trip to Atlas soon, so we'll see what we can do while we're there."

" Good luck." said Junior as he left the room.

" Now, Neo, I hope you remember your training at that Atlesian military boot camp, because you're going to need it." told me Roman.

I smiled. This was going to be fun. I had never stolen from an Atlesian military base before.
