Inside Bartie's thoughts now, Miles appeared to be exiting another cave. Knowing that he was exiting a cave, he had a very bad feeling that he was exiting and then entering another jungle, similar to that of Numbah 4's imagination. However, after taking a couple steps closer out of the cave, he knew that that wasn't the case.
Walking out of the cave, Miles took notice that instead of a jungle, this time it was a forest. But in the distance, there appears to be what looks like a coal mine, or that's what Miles could only assume that it's what it was out there. He couldn't stop staring at the wooden building that was out there in the distance, wondering if Bartie was even over there.
The boy honestly couldn't get his eyes off of the building out there, as he began to walk forward, not paying attention what's in front of him. Thankfully, he looked forward immediately, noticing that he was about to walk off into a whole in the railroad bridge he was walking on. He stopped right before he went anymore forward.
"Woah!" Miles said, stopping himself in his track.
Miles looks down into the hole in the bridge, seeing that it leads down into more of the forest below. He took a deep breath, before looking up at the sky, thankful that he didn't fall to his doom when he was walking. Looking off of the sides of the bridge, Miles spoke aloud.
"Hey, Hoagie! I don't know if you are still talking to me still or not, but...I need to ask, if I happen to fall to my doom, would I be dead outside this imagination?" Miles asked.
"That is something I really don't know, and I wouldn't attempt to do anything that can get you killed. Why do you ask?" Hoagie asked, voice still only heard out in the sky. Miles cringes, looking down the bridge still.
"Um...I was only wondering...that's all..."
Miles then looks at the bridge ahead of him, seeing that there was parts that were broken ahead of him. Some of the boards pretty much have broken off due to this bridge, most likely, being extremely old. However, some sides of the bridge that were holding these boards were still standing, making tightrope-sized ways to get across them.
The boy taps the logs holding the bridge up with his foot. It appears that it was safe to cross, of course, but it still seems pretty dangerous for him to cross this bridge regardless. Hopefully for Miles, Bartie isn't even over there at that large wooden building across these entire trench.
Just as he was about to turn around and try to get down the mountain, Miles notices that there's a light flashing at the building that he was looking at. After witnessing that, he knew for a fact that Bartie was actually over there, confirming his concerns of crossing the bridge anyway. He groans as he looks down the morning once again.
"You have got to be kidding me...I have to go towards that place anyway?" Miles asked himself, as he looking at how high up he was from the forest below. "If I were to estimate by the looks alone...I believe this would be as high as a five story building...probably not too scary, but...crap, I'm lucky that I never went out into the forest before alone and found a bridge like this before."
"Miles, you should get a move on there. We need to get Bartie out of that imagination before Abigail, Wally, and Kuki are caught by the aliens on that base." Hoagie said. "I'm pretty sure that those things could be able to be walked on."
"You serious? I feel like these log things are going to break off if I walk across them." Miles looks up at the sky. "Have you ever walked a rope bridge before? This wooden bridge isn't one, but it's close to being one."
"There's a difference between a rope bridge and a railroad bridge..." Hoagie stopped. "Wait, why is THIS a discussion right now? Cross that bridge already!"
"Alright..."
Miles looks off the edge of the bridge once again, before attempting to step onto the first beam that was in front of him. He gulps, knowing that there might be a large chance of him falling off these beams, and falling down into the forest below. He just hopes that he is lucky enough to try to pass all of this stuff.
As the first beam was only about four feet, it was pretty easy for Miles, he could handle and walk that far a distance on a tightrope. But then came the hard part once he's gotten to the longer beams that were in front of him. This time, by the looks of the beam that was in front of him, it appears that this one appears to be about twelve feet far, but thankfully, the only one left.
It was incredibly risky to do anyway, but Miles went ahead and tried to keep his balance on the beam as best as he could. He kept himself balanced on the wooden support beam as best as he could as he kept his eyes down at his feet. It was best to do this, or else he would end up doing what he would've almost ended up doing if he hadn't noticed the hole in the bridge. He kept on biting his lip as he was looking down at the trees, not wanting to fall down there and most likely get killed, he really wanted to live until he graduates high school...then again, considering that Earth is now gone, something like that is no longer an option.
He kept his balance as best as he could...
Before he felt the entire bridge starting to shake below his feet. Parts of the entire bridge was starting to collapse beneath him. This was when Miles starting to instantly run, while trying to keep his balance at the same time, trying to get to the other side of the bridge this time. As boards were falling to the grounds below, Miles kept on running towards the other side of the bridge.
He leaps to the spot where the bridge ends, right as the rest of the railway had been destroyed completely. The boy sat there, looking at the bridge as the rest of it collapsed and fell apart. He sighed in relief, happy to be finally off of that bridge before he fell to his death.
"Damn...that could've been a whole lot bad if I didn't get off of that in time..." Miles mutters, as he stood up from the ground. "...I wonder if Julia is having any sort of luck trying to save Virginia from her own imagination. Hopefully, things are a lot easier with Virginia then with Bartie." Miles stood up, brushing himself off as he headed down the path to find a way into the mine building.
Back with Julia...
The giant white asparagus was still attempting to attack the small harbor island, as Julia kept the board from the sign close. She had to get to the lighthouse, get Virginia out of there, then grab the fork inside of it. But that's going to be hard considering that there's a giant sea creature in the way.
Julia charges straight for the lighthouse's door as the asparagus was still stuck inside the hole in the harbor island. More of it's body broke out of the harbor, as Julia jumped into the air, avoiding any sort of debris that came in the way. She hopped onto the body, before grabbing onto it's tail. The creature swung it's tail, getting the girl to let go of it, and is sent flying towards it's head.
But before the sea creature was about to eat Julia, the girl grabs a hold of one side of the creature, now standing on top of its head. The girl whacks the asparagus, before leaping off of it's head, and landing next to Virginia on the top of the lighthouse. Julia throws the board at the asparagus, making it back off into the sea once again. For now, it gave Virginia and Julia enough time to have a tiny conversation before it comes out to attack again.
"So now what?!" Julia asked. "Did you guys handle something like this before?! How did the Kids Next Door handle something like...THAT?!"
"Me and my team didn't handle that! Only Sector V did!" Virginia shouts, as she was looking out to the sea nearby. "...Also, Sector V didn't exactly defeat it...it kind of defeated them, before they...somehow survived, as Numbah 5 said to me. Who knows! I never handled something like the asparagus sea before!" Julia looks at the hatch on the ground. "You got a plan to get our asses out of this one!?"
"The sign said it all, my friend!" Julia opens the hatch. "The sign said that only a fork can defeat this monster! So that's what I'm going to use to defeat this thing!"
"Are you crazy?!"
"It's better than getting eaten by that thing!"
Julia finally was able to open the hatch. She hops into the lighthouse, as Virginia stood back up off of the ground, holding onto the rails. She kept her eyes on the hatch, as her best friend was running down the stairs to the first floor. Virginia ran downstairs, seeing Julia picking up a giant fork that was leaning on the side of the door.
"Now this is a fork that you guys should've used on the Delightful Children from Down the Lane's birthday cake if you ask me." Julia said. "But all jokes aside, let's get rid of this son of a bitch once and for all and get out of here!" Virginia points upstairs.
"Then we better get back upstairs! Who knows when that thing is going to..."
Virginia was then interrupted by the feel of the entire lighthouse rumbling. By the looks of it, it seems like the giant asparagus finally decided to attack once again, and it seems like it wants to destroy the lighthouse now. The girls ran upstairs, hoping to get to a higher ground.
The two entered the balcony where the two were at before. Julia glares at the sea below her, before standing onto the rails, holding the fork as she stood there, looking down. There was shadow below the sea, signaling that the creature was still circling around the entire area.
"Virginia...stay up here, I think I can handle this..." Julia said.
"Dude, at least try to think of a way to survive something like this!" Virginia said, holding onto the rails, as she was looking at the girl. "No plan will just be nothing more but a complete death wish!"
"Not if we..."
The lighthouse rumbled once again, causing the building to fall, leaning on it's side. Virginia held onto the rails still, dangling over the water, as Julia landed onto a piece of floating driftwood. Julia looks up from the board, before she took notice of the creature coming straight at the two of them.
Miles's sister stood up onto the driftwood platform, keeping the fork. She gripped the item in her hands strongly, as she glared at the creature speeding closer and closer to her. Julia twirls the item in her hand, before leaping onto the top of the creature's head.
Julia held onto the creature by the side of it's head, as the giant vegetable sunk back into the ocean, leaving Virginia to be hanging onto the rails, looking in horror at what happened. Virginia breathed heavily, just staring at the sea. She was scared that her own best friend had just been killed right before her, or maybe even stuck under the sea full of asparagus. Without a hint that her best friend made it out alive, Virginia hops down onto the driftwood that Julia was on earlier.
But without warning, the sound of a large flash appeared from nearby, revealing the 'Wake Up' door, standing there alone on what remains of the broken harbor. Then, right out of nowhere, Julia came flying out of the sea, and landing onto a broken piece of the warehouse roof. This was both a surprise, and not much of a surprise for the girl, knowing that there was a chance that her best friend would survive anyway.
"Now THAT was the best thing I've ever seen!" Virginia said. "So what just happened?!"
"Fought the beast off with the fork, then...I had to go back up here, and try to get away from it as it just explodes." Julia said, as she sat down on the roof piece. "Truthfully, those Sector V should've defeated that thing with a fork, you know?" Virginia hopped her way over to the platform that had the door standing on it. "I'm more surprised that you didn't think that this whole place was reality."
"You kidding? I rather be in my bedroom listening to The Ramones rather than being around the sea of asparagus."
"I see."
"Well, whatever dude. I'm just so happy that I'm able to finally get out of here, and head back to Earth." Julia cringed, before standing up from the rooftop piece. She then hops over to the same platform that Virginia and the 'Wake Up' door were both on.
"Yeah...I hate to break it to you, Virginia...but..." Julia cringed again. "...Earth is...kinda gone."
Virginia slowly turned her head over to Julia, eyes widened in shock at that being said. "Say what now?!" She asked, completely hysterical at that being all of the sudden mentioned. "Hello! Where was THIS being mentioned a couple minutes ago when you first saw me!?"
"I had a feeling that's how you'd take all of this...look, whatever happens, just go through the door. After that, you'll wake up in a tube full of a weird liquid. Once you break out of that tube, find Numbah 3, 4, and 5, and from there...wait for me and Miles to find you guys back up there."
Virginia stared at Julia with shock in her eyes still, finding it unbelievable that Earth is gone. But she couldn't let that bother her, as she really just wanted to get out of this weird imagination already, Earth being gone should be something secondary that she should be thinking about. Virginia walked through the door, causing the entire place to turn to turn into white diamonds.
Julia closes her eyes as she was about to be brought back to the hallway.
