To anyone who didn't know her, it looked like Aloy was swiping through empty air. Erend, chin resting on his crossed arms on the table, knew better. He was used to this, to seeing the glow of the focus perched at her ear and the look of concentration on her face.
"What do you look at on there?" he asked, fully prepared to be ignored but too curious not to ask.
Aloy hummed absently. "Just some files."
"Oh."
She glanced at him and tapped her focus. "It scans things sometimes. Files and letters from the Old Ones. They're . . . interesting."
"Read me one?" Aloy blinked in surprise. "You don't have to, obviously. I was just curious."
She smiled a little at that. Reactivating her focus, she scrolled through the air a moment before pausing and beginning to read.
Originally, I was going to pick one of the in-game files for her to be reading, but I decided to leave it. There were just too many good ones to choose from. This way, you guys can decide which one it is and save me the work, lol.
