Inside Diaz's mansion, Diaz was having a discussion with Lance while the former was sitting on a chair and the latter was sitting on the couch. They were both facing each other.
"So, we got a deal, Q?" Diaz asked Lance.
"We got a deal, baby!" Lance answered giving Diaz a tight handshake as Diaz laughed while returning the gesture. "We'll repay everything we borrowed at 25% interest a week OR we work for you."
"Yeah, salut!" Diaz replied dumping the ashes from the end of his cigar into the ashtray sitting on the table sitting in front of the sofa.
He and Lance grabbed their cups of champagne and held them high toward each others' "Cheers," Lance cheered as he and Diaz clashed cups together right before taking a large gulp of each of their beverages. "That's good stuff," Lance declared.
"Or I kill you and your brother with a blunt instrument," Diaz joked.
He and Lance laughed hysterically and turned around just in time to notice Vic walking in. "Vic!" Diaz called. "We were just talking about you."
"YEAH!" Lance added.
"Yeah?" Vic asked.
"About you boys repaying that money I lent you," Diaz answered.
Vic's expression quickly turned sour. "What fucking money?" Vic asked sternly. He then glared at Lance. "Hey, what's he talking about?" Vic growled at his brother.
Lance quickly jumped out of his seat and stepped closer to Vic. "Look, I borrowed some money for us from Ricardo and we're gonna pay him back, OK?" Lance confessed.
"What the fuck have you done now?" Vic growled again.
"I invested back in the business," Lance protested. He then turned to Diaz. "I'm sorry, Ricardo baby," Lance apologized, "but sometimes brothers get alpha male on you, you know."
"I know," Diaz answered. "That's why I killed mine. Boys, relax. Just go do that thing for me and all will be good."
"Yeah... " Lance added.
"For now," Diaz continued.
"Wait, what is he talking about?" Vic asked his brother.
"Look," Lance started to explain, "Ricardo wants us to destroy all of Armando Mendez's bearer bonds. I know it sounds risky, but trust me. I got it..."
Lance was noticeably drunk from the champagne he just drank earlier. He slowly lowered himself back onto the sofa. "I got it going, 'cause I done this a million times," he said lying down onto the sofa. "Let's just pop, baby... You know... Let's just... pop... " Lance then fell asleep on the sofa, snoring loudly.
Vic glared down at Lance and sighed in annoyance. "Guess I'm doing this one on my own," he muttered. Diaz followed with a laughter, and Vic just left the room without another word.
Vic stepped outside to meet one of his partners from the Vance Crime family on the front porch of the mansion.
"Hey, boss," the member told Vic. "Have you seen Lance?"
"Unfortunately, yes," Vic answered. "What is it?"
"Some high-tech gear he ordered," the member replied. "It's up near the Mendez mansion, ready to go."
"What high-tech gear?" Vic asked. "What's it for?"
"Er, Lance said something about getting around Mendez's security; destroying their bonds or something," the member replied.
"Leave it with me," Vic told him.
The Vance Crime Family member had provided Vic a white Cheetah so he would drive over by the Mendez Mansion. So Vic hopped inside the Cheetah and started the engine. He made a right turn and followed the driveway path out to the street to make a right turn on Starfish Island.
Vic drove through the bridge leading to Washington Beach. He made another left turn and drove straight down the road of Vice Point, taking the curved road to the road leading all the way to Prawn Island, where Vic spotted the black-and-white Boxville parked in front of the Mendez Mansion.
Vic parked behind the Bopxville, hopped out of the Cheetah, and into the Boxville.
Vic was using the Boxville to take control of the robot otherwise known as Domestobot. Diego had convinced Armando to purchase the robot because he had always wanted to own one that would do all the work. Armando had reluctantly purchased it and had used the robot as a working slave as well.
He was currently sitting inside his bedroom on the couch listening to "Acid" by Ray Barretto. "Domestobot!" Armando called from the bedroom. "Where are you? How did Diego talk me into buying that electric trash can?"
Meanwhile, Domestobot was inside one of the bedrooms.
"Domestobot loves cleaning," the Domestobot robot said. "Remote control override! I live to serve."
So without hesitation, Vic pressed the controls inside the Boxville to memorize each control button to control the robot. The right blue button was used to change the arm from feather duster, lighter, key, and so on. He switched to the tracking device and controlled the Domestobot to move out of the bedroom.
The Domestobot was just about to make its way to the stairs when Armando had promptly called it.
"Domestobot!" Armando called. "Where are my cigars?"
Is he serious? Vic thought. Can't he just get his own cigars himself?
He controlled the Domestobot to turn back to find one of the bedrooms upstairs in search of the cigars and went into the cigar cabinet on one of the rooms.
The Domestobot robot opened the cabinet and pulled out a pack of cigars. It darted out of the room and down the long hallway on the end, where it made it inside Armando's room to find the Bolivian drug lord lounging on the couch.
Domestobot handed Armando the pack of cigars, and the latter pulled one out to have Domestobot light one for him.
"Domestobot is here for your pleasure!" Domestobot uttered.
As Armando continued lounging on the couch smoking his cigar, Domestobot left the room and ran down the hallway, only for Diego to call him from the other room.
"Domestobot!" Diego called. "¡Tráeme mi licor!"
Since Vic didn't know much of Spanish, it was difficult to understand what Diego was saying. But the last word was heard as "liquor", so Vic surmised that Diego wanted a drink.
So Vic controlled the Domestobot to go downstairs and go inside the kitchen to fetch a liquor inside the refrigerator. The robot opened the refrigerator to find a stack of beer and alcohol inside. The robot pulled out a bottle of beer and shut the refrigerator door before returning upstairs.
Down the hallway, it looked around to find the bedroom Diego was inside. Domestobot came across a bedroom with a normal mattress, which Diego was resting on. Domestobot handed Diego the bottle of liquor, which the latter snatched out of the robot's hand.
"Domestobot requires drinks on the house," Domestobot uttered.
It left the bedroom and out through the hallway, making its way to the stairs. It used the signal piece on its right arm to search for the safe inside the mansion and oriented down the hallway. It made its way to the door and opened it, leading to a basement.
Domestobot made its way to the basement to locate the safe and finally made it to the other end of the wall, where a white safe was attached to.
Jackpot! Vic thought.
The safe was compacted with a digital code to open. This was the part where Vic became stumped at. What was the code to the safe? How was he about to open it?
Vic then remembered the letters of the keypad he would memorize on the phone and punched in the number on the pad: 8423.
To Vic's surprise, the safe opened just like that.
Of course, Vic thought. The code spells out "Vice". I see what they did there.
Using Domestobot, Vic changed the right hand to a lighter, ready to torch every cash inside the safe. He used the lighter and tossed it inside the safe, burning everything inside.
Minutes later, Armando arrived to find out that Domestobot has set everything inside the safe on fire and became furious beyond all belief.
"Domestobot!" Armando growled angrily shooting the robot out of pique. "You fucking lousy piece of crap! You've ruined me!"
"Do you require a light?" Domestobot asked.
His last words. The robot was promptly destroyed, and the Mendez brothers were now bankrupt due to every last one of their life-savings burnt to a crisp.
Vic laughed at this and felt that his work here was done. Martinez's soldiers were all deceased, Martinez himself was discharged from the army, Vic was back in the army as a corporal soldier, and the Mendez brothers were now bankrupt. Things were finally looking good from there.
Vic hopped out of the Boxville and went to a nearby payphone to punch in Lance's number.
"Hello," Lance answered, his voice still sounding slurred.
"Lance, it's your brother," Vic told him.
"Vic," Lance answered, his voice still sounding slurred. "Did you use that robot to torch the Mendezes' safe?"
"Yep," Vic told him. "Everything inside is all burnt, and those assholes are now bankrupt. Listen, I'm making you the head of the Vance Crime Family now."
"Really?" Lance asked sounding somewhat ecstatic.
"Yep," Vic answered. "I'm through with crime life now. I only got into it because I was trying to survive in these streets of Vice. But now that I got Martinez off my back and the Mendez brothers are now bankrupt, I'm back in the army ever since getting my name cleared. So there's no reason for me to return to crime life anymore. I'm in the army now, and I don't want those empire buildings to go to waste. They're all yours."
"Thanks, bro," Lance thanked his brother. "Thanks for this. That means a lot to me. Now I can be the boss for a change."
"Yep," Vic told him. "Just don't get high off your own supply."
Vic hung up the phone and walked back over to his Cheetah. By the time he reached the vehicle, he heard his pager beeping. He took it off his belt to read the message. It was from Phil.
"Thanks for looking after Louise, man," the message read. "I appreciate it. Any time I can help - just call... "
Vic sighed in satisfaction as he stored his pager away. The first thing he would celebrate starting tomorrow was to take Louise out on a date. Now that he was no longer dealing with life of crime, he was eager to finally getting to spend more time with his girlfriend. He hopped inside and drove away back home. He wanted to celebrate tomorrow to get a fresh start.
