Hey guys just a quick note to say Brax and Ricky will go somewhere in this chapter, but you won't find out what happened till the next chapter which will be the next day.
Day 5 – Since Chopper went missing – (7:10am) 9 hours and 23 minutes later…
Summer Bay – Braxton House – Garden
Even though Casey hadn't wanted to celebrate his birthday, Brax had still woke up him up at 6am like they always do and the two of them went for a surf, they were now sat having breakfast in the garden with Ricky.
"How was the surf?" Ricky asked the two of them as she took a sip of coffee.
"It was ok." Casey replied as he wasn't really bother about it.
"Come on Casey, it's still your birthday whether or not we celebrate today." Brax told him "At least smile a little."
"How can I smile? Heath is in hospital and Kyle is missing, his birthday is in three days Brax and he might not even make it home to celebrate."
"Casey don't start." Brax warns his brother.
"Brax you said it yourself he only had 14 tablets with him. That means he probably has what four in total left?" Casey remind Brax as he did the math "Therefore he probably only has enough to get him through till the morning of his birthday. Now with the search being called off, we'd be lucky if Kyle comes home alive."
Listening to how scared Casey was at the possibility of losing Kyle, Ricky spoke up: "That's exactly why me and Brax have a meeting with the bank Casey, so we can get money to fund the search."
"Yeah and what if you don't get it." Casey said as he stood up "You know what, I can't be here right now."
With that Casey, walks off through the back gate as he would rather be anywhere but where all of his brother's stuff was.
"Well that could have gone better." Ricky stated, "Anyway we better go and get ready the meeting is at half 8."
Brax watches his girlfriend go into the house to get ready. Once she's disappeared, he starts to clean up the mess left behind and just thinks about what Casey had pointed out.
(7:42am) 32 minutes later…
Summer Bay – Braxton House – Living Room/Kitchen
"Tell me again how much we need?" Brax said as he looked through some papers.
Rushing back into the kitchen, Ricky starts collecting papers together: "Fifty thousand dollars a day, minimum."
"And, what makes you think the bank's gonna give it to us?"
"Because the value of coastal properties is on the up and I plan to make them a lot of money."
"That's what I was afraid of." Brax said as he handed her the paper in his hand.
"Right, I've got out the financial records and bank statements." Ricky told him as she gathered everything together "Yep, I'm ready. Are you ready?"
"Eh, Ricky do you not just want to think about this for now? I'm not necessarily against the whole idea it's just, I want to make sure that you've thought about this logistically."
"Go on." Ricky sighs.
"Ok, even if you realise the full value of the house, you're gonna get what? Six days of search and at the end of that not only are you gonna have no money but neither will I as this is both our house remember, plus the flat which Heath and Bianca live in. It also means we are gonna have a massive debt to pay off." Brax explains to her hoping it sinks in.
"This my best friend and your brother we are talking about here. How do you think Heath will feel if we lose Bianca? What about how Casey will feel if we lose Kyle? The two of them are as thick as thieves, you've seen the state both Casey and Heath have been in since they went missing."
"I know and don't you think I want them back as much as you do? At the end of the day we might not even find them within those six days." Brax told her "We have to think about every outcome here and not just oh we're automatically going to find them in those six days. You have no idea what it's like out there Ricky whereas I do. We didn't even find the wreckage in the amount of time we have spent searching already."
"Your right I don't know what it's like out there but what do know is, they will all be counting on us to find and bring them home."
"All I'm saying is have you thought about another way of raising the funds?"
"There isn't, so are you gonna come with me to the bank?" Ricky asked him.
Sighing, as he knows she's not changing her mind, Brax replies: "Yeah, you know I am."
With that the two of them leave the house for the bank.
(12:01pm) 4 hours and 19 minutes later…
Summer Bay – Yabbie Creek - Captain's Charm - Inside
Considering it was Casey's birthday, his friends had decided to take their minds off everything that was going on and go to fast food restaurant in Yabbie Creek for lunch.
"So how does it feel to be 17?" Lucas asked his friend.
Putting some salt on his fries, Casey replied with: "Mate, shouldn't you know that already?"
This statement causes them all to laugh and Lucas to go red in the face.
"Honestly though it doesn't feel any different from 16." Casey answered honestly "Even more so right now."
"Look, are you sure you don't want to have a party?" Ruby asked her boyfriend as she noticed the look on his face.
"I've already told Brax I'd rather wait till everyone was home, that way me and Kyle can have a joint 17th birthday party. Plus, Aden should be back from visiting his mum by then."
"That's so true." April replied, "Has anyone actually spoke to Aden and told him what's been going on?"
"Ric did the apparently." Cassie said as she took a bite out of her burger.
"Well let's something I suppose." Casey sighed "And hey guys, thanks for at least joining me for lunch. The house is a bit hectic at the moment."
Everyone says no bother as they all know what the Braxton's are going through as they are too.
"So, Cassie."
"What?" Cassie asked her friend.
"How's my brother doing?" Casey laughs.
Cassie just ignores the question and they all go about eating their lunch then head to the beach for a bit before going home.
