Recovery: The Silent Enemy

Chapter 35th

Leroy Jethro Gibbs had no choice in the matter for when it comes to talking to Doctor Grace. Now he was trapped in the basement with the woman that is a Sabre tooth tiger for when it comes to getting the truth out of people especially Gibbs.

He moved over to his work bench to grabbed the Bourbon that was sitting there for the past few days. He empty the elements that was inside placing them elsewhere on the table behind him.

"Doc, you want some? I know it's too late for you to be drinking with your husband and dinner waiting on the hot stove.

"Cut it out Popeye! I will have one and so will you before we start talking. My evening is already ruined in spite the call for help." She harshly said while watching him pour the Bourbon into a cup and than a glass container. "Jesus! Don't you have anything else that is clean Gibbs?" She wasn't going to argue with him over a clean container.

"Nope!" He replied. He handed her the drink into her hand. While he grabbed his with taking a quick sip that went his throat burning his insides as with hers.

"Damn! I needed that tonight Popeye. I have been all stressed out all evening after my husband David tells me that their was an explosion on the other side of the complex for where he was working to kill two of his associates. SECNAV is investigating into what had happen and who was involved with killing the two Naval personnel. There is a possible chance that the Naval Yards Director Leon Vance is thinking of using your team to investigate."

"Now this is interesting Doc. Leon hasn't as yet called me to let me know about his decision. Any rate I have my own issues to deal with currently." He stated with watching the doc finish her drink. "More Doc?" He asked.

"Sure Popeye. And besides you need to begin talking now after I gave you an in with my husband and the explosion." She quipped with Gibbs pouring more of the burning liquor into the glass container. "Thanks again." She responded with drinking a sip of the Bourbon.

While Gibbs started to talk finally. "Listen there are days that I just plainly hate myself at times for being so weak for when it comes to my own emotions. I just don't know what is happening to me Doc?" He says with taking another sip of his drink while scanning the basement.

Doc had noticed the three models of the Chickadee's for his friends and family. The first one years ago he had made for his mother with his father Jackson's help.

"Is it because you're older and in your sixties as compared to when you were in your thirties? And what you did with shooting Pedro Hernandez in Mexico for revenge of your wife Shannon and Kelly?"

"Yes, for the most part. Though when I had remarried to Diane, Rebecca and Stephanie I had thought things would be different. But it wasn't for when it came to me being a closed book as Torres and McGee would say on occasion even though they didn't notice that I overheard them. It's not been easy controlling my emotions over the years. It was worst after Doctor Stephanie Ryan had ran away all because of Harper Dearing."

"And you killed him later on with your knife." She will say even though it was classified for years. "Yeah, I know Popeye. Any rate what else is on your mind?" She shifted in the chair. She didn't know how he could work in this type of environment.

"I am more worried about Loreile mostly and the baby. She has been under a great deal of stress with what has been going on with the Cartel. I wish to see her lose the baby at the stage of the baby. I don't know what would happen to me if ever it does?" He had to asked himself and Doctor Grace feeling his great pain deep inside of his famous gut.

"Loreile understands the danger she is taking with the pregnancy and what has been going on with you and your work for NCIS. She would of never had gotten involved with marrying you in regard to the risks. I do know for a fact that she does love you a great deal no matter what is happening." She will remark and watching Gibbs expression with a blush on his face.

"Quite true doc. If it wasn't for Leon and the damn celebration party for SECNAV. I would of never gone to the party for where I met Loreile in all of her glory." He finished up his drink not wanting any more for the evening. He needed to stay sober in order to make love to his wife making it up to her with the way he was acting.

"I heard a great deal about the party and who had attended. My husband David was supposed to attend. However he was knee deep in work and his boss was after him to finished up with the budgets for the different Naval projects costing a mint to get started with the new cloaked Naval jets." She wasn't supposed to had mention the word "Cloaked" to him in the first place.

"Cloaked Jets Doc? If I am to understand what it means even though I have watched a few of the old Star Trek episodes that the Navy will have the great advantage to have the jets disappear into thin air while entering an enemies air space."

"Correct Popeye! And mostly really cool. Any way what else is going on with you besides what is happening with the Cartel? How is Phineas dealing with his adopted parents?"

"There is Nick and Eleanor trying to hide the fact that they had broken rule 12th for when there is to be no employees involved with each other. And I will need to burn another one of my rules since I actually want to see them happy finally. As for Phineas, he is very happy with them even though we stay in contact all of the time either by text messaging or the computer he had given to me."

"Great news for all accounts. As for rule 12 do you think it will make you feel better in doing so?"

"I have no idea doc. But I do want to see the both of happy after their sorted past especially with Nick. He was married once before to a woman that had used him when he had been under cover and having fallen hard for the woman ten years ago. Elle knows what had happen with Nick telling her a few years back. I think I have said enough for this session doc. And yes, I am feeling slightly better talking to you down here in the basement."

"Sure Popeye and your damn basement. By the way when will be larger boat your building will be ready to float?" She smiled making it as a slight joke for where he was shrugging his shoulders.

"I don't have a clue Doc. Thanks for coming for which I will walk you out and than I need to make that apology to my wife upstairs in the bedroom."

"Good luck and have fun Gibbs and let go of your passion that is deep inside that famous gut of yours."
