I don't own any characters in the Percy Jackson universe which is rightfully owned by Rick Riodan. However, the Greek gods and/or other mythological figures are used in my imagination and well you can't claim copyright on history.

Chapter 35

I was sitting on the beach with Artemis and we were on a little date. Annabeth decided to go back to camp to plan for the upcoming war. Artemis also didn't have much time because of Typhon starting to approach and we could consider this the last date before then. My mom trusted me enough to let me borrow her car on the condition she gets to talk to Artemis soon. Suddenly a pounding sound was heard and I turned to see my good friend Charles Beckendorf riding a pegasus currently standing on the car hood.

"Bro, why did you have to land on the car! How the fuck am I supposed to explain the car to my parents?"

"Sorry, I don't speak horse like you. I told him to land and I guess he landed on the brightest thing there was."

I groaned and inspected the hood. There were 4 craters in the hood and I don't know how to fix it except by buying a new hood for the car. That was going to leave a huge dent in my bank.

"Who's the lady?" He suddenly asks.

Before I could say a word she introduces herself.

"Hello, I'm Artemis. I've seen you in camp before."

"Uh, Artemis? Like hunter goddess?"

"Yes, something wrong?"

"Aren't you a maiden goddess?"

"Yes."

"Aren't you supposed to like hate males?"

"Basically."

"And you're in a relationship with my man Percy?"

"Seems that way."

"You don't seem to think anything isn't wrong."

"It's not."

I facepalmed as this was literally the stupidest conversation I have ever heard and I know I'm not that smart either. He was like a kid asking if he could buy food at McDonald's and his mom just constantly shooting him down. I cough loudly to get their attention. Charles looks at me with a look just showing me that the last of his brain cells have cooked in that brain.

"Stay safe, Percy."

She gives me a kiss and walks towards the woods. Charles is still staring at me in shock.

"Yo Charles, you good?"

"Yeah, sorry let's go." He says slowly.

He walks in shock to his pegasus and I let out a loud and sharp taxicab whistle. Immediately Blackjack starts flying down from the sky after doing who knows what flying horses do in their free time.

"Any donuts, boss?"

"No, I do have some sugar cubes."

I fed him a couple of sugar cubes and Blackjack nickers.

"Ember, over there is staring."

I looked over to Charles's pegasus and he looks away pretending that he didn't see me. I handed Charles some sugar cubes.

"Feed them to him. He looks jealous that Blackjack got some and he didn't."

"Must be nice to speak horse."

He feeds the sugar cubes to his pegasus and he neighs. We climb onto our pegasi and start flying. The plan was to blow up Kronos's cruise ship Princess Andromeda. He was spotted lingering around the tri-state area and they weren't moving anywhere nor doing anything in particular. So Charlie thought why not try and end the fight before it even begins. It was a risky plan because we didn't know how much the ship has changed and what monsters were on board but it was worth a shot.

"So should I mention this little thing to Annabeth?"

"You could go ahead and see her answer. Just don't tell her we were on a date."

He looks at me bewildered.

"Wait, so you're telling me Annabeth knows about this?"

"Yep."

"And she's totally fine with it."

"Mhmm."

"Percy, you get weirder every day."

"Tell me about it."

We ride in silence until we reach the cruise ship and when we did arrive nervous energy fills me. The ship was crawling with monsters and they were everywhere. Charles tosses me a bag.

"Bottomless bags I made. Reach in and you'll find armor and a spray I made. The armor is the same as that boys vs. girls game we played."

So the armor was camouflage armor and probably make adjustments to since that match a few days ago. It made our entire body change with the environment around us making it perfect for infiltration as we were attempting to do now.

"The spray will help your 'I am a demigod' scent decrease drastically. It's not perfect so you can't stick around one place for too long. Honestly, you're the real problem, Mr. Champion of every Olympian god." He teases.

I really liked Charles. He was one of the few people who didn't just awe at me from afar and rather approached me.

"Shut up, Charles. If I ever become a champion of your dad, I will cook you up and serve you once I get the hang of forging."

"Please, you could become the new god of forging and I'd still wipe my ass with your creations."

I laughed because it was probably true. He was a forging master and even though his half-siblings were great, they were a pebble to his boulder. All the more reason to make sure this mission was successful. Also, he had a beautiful girlfriend named Silena Beauregard, who was the daughter of Aphrodite. We dived off our pegasi and I use my powers to silently land in the water. We swam up and climbed up the side ladder on the ship. We spray ourselves with that demigod-smell-b-gone spray and walk into the ship. Right on cue, the armor sets to work and blends us in with the ship. We could still see each other and as a couple of demigods pass by we stay as still as we could be.

"Heh, those kids in the camp won't know what hit them. We get updates every day, and they don't even know." Someone says to the others as they walk by us.

Charles smirks at me as we walk the opposite direction. We paused in front of the cafeteria to avoid being seen as a shimmer in the wall.

"I think I smell demigod." A monster growls.

"Stupid, last time you said that it was a fucking meat sub." The other snaps.

"Well, that sandwich was good. But seriously I smell them this time."

We quickly made ourselves past the doors and made our way to the control room. We knocked out the demigod driving the ship and he pulls out greek fire vials.

"Strap these bad boys anywhere you can."

He tosses me the vials like it was a 6 pack of beer. (don't ever try making greek fire at home and if you do don't throw it around). I work on the back and he works on the controls. Suddenly, we heard a gasp and alarms.

"Stay here and finish the job. I'll distract them." I shouted to Charles.

"But-" He protests and I cut him off.

"It's alright, I'm immune to fire and I'm a better fighter. I'll be back soon, I promise."

"Don't promise me, you have two girlfriends, not me." He jokes trying to alleviate the tension of the situation.

I laughed and dapped him up. I ran off down the hall screaming and shouting. As I ran an invisible force hits me.

"Ow, what the fuck was that?"

"Percy Jackson, I should've known." He turns to another demigod. "Go search for an accomplice."

He nods and runs off.

"Stop, I'm by myself. I tried to take down the threat before it started to get serious. No need to check." I said with charmspeak heavy in my voice.

"Oh, okay thanks for saving me time." He says and turns back around.

"You fool, he's using charmspeak. Another nifty ability you picked up, Jackson?"

The demigod runs in fear towards the control room. He stops short and turns around.

"He's here. And his sacks full."

"Good, no damage has been done. I will personally kill you both myself."

A bloody and battered Charles is thrown to the floor in front of me. Kronos lifts his spear and moves to kill. I quickly block and spin to stab him. My blade clangs off and is wrenched out of my hand. He slices down and cute my arm. And then I remembered what the telkhines said when they made this blade.

"Careful fool, one cut, and your soul will be ripped from your body."

I didn't know if they meant literally but it feels like it was.

"Heh, no rush. Check his bag."

The demigod opens the bag and cans of soup tumble out of the bag. Kronos looks as if his head was about to explode.

"Go, check the control room now!"

The kid scurries off and Charles lifts his arm with the detonator.

'Go, I got this.' He mouths at me.

I shake my head but he ignores me raising his arm to his face to press it.

"What is he doing? Something on his arm." Hisses a monster.

Kronos whips around and in the moment of confusion, I used my good arm and threw the blade at his head. I ran forward and grabbed Charles and jumped out of the railing of the ship. I could hear Kronos yelling in the background and the ship explodes. Charles is ripped from my arms and the shrapnel of the explosion hits my back as I finally pass out from the damage sustained and my last thoughts were if Charles was safe.
