A few days later as news of the pregnancies sank in to the happy couples Penelope touched her fiancé's cheek and said, "we need to talk handsome and the sooner the better". He put his hand on hers and said, "is something wrong, are you breaking up with me"?, she laughed and said, "no my love, never, I would never break up with you".
Derek said, "it scared me when you said that we needed to talk", Penelope took his hand in hers and put it on her stomach and said, "I want to talk to you about the wedding". Derek smiled and said, "what about it"?, she sighed and said, "I was thinking with me almost 11 weeks along now that if we wait to much longer my dress isn't going to fit".
He laughed and said, "ahhhhh I see, so what do you think we should do about that"?, she leaned in and rested her forehead against his and said, "welllllll, since the wedding is only going to be the team and your mom and sisters, maybeeeeeee we could go ahead and have it sooner". Derek said, "how soon are you talking about because goddess we could get married today as far as I'm concerned".
Penelope said, "wellllll I was thinking about maybe Saturday, how does that sound"?, he said, "sounds good to me and now all that's left to do is let the others know". Penelope picked up her cell and sent a group text seeing if they could all meet at Dereks place. It was only a matter of a few minutes before she got "yes" replies from everybody.
Derek intertwined their fingers and said, "I can't wait until your my wife, I can't wait to spend the rest of my life with you and our little bundle right here" as he rubbed her stomach with his free hand. Penelope blew out a deep breath and said, "before I met you I could never see myself getting married and settling down, that kind of happiness was never in the cards for me".
He said, "and why do you think that"?, she said, "well look at me Derek, I'm not the normal, gorgeous woman that men like you would normally be with". Derek said, "baby girl I want you to listen to me", she nodded her head and looked at him as he turned to face her because he wanted to make sure that she understood what he was saying to her.
Derek caressed her cheek and said, "you, baby girl are the most beautiful woman I've ever met, you're sweet, kind, you have one of the biggest hearts I've ever seen and you are one sexyyyyyy momma". She laughed and said, "thank you so much", he winked at her and said, "before I met you I never thought I would get married either and then I met you and bam I was hooked".
Penelope said, "I love you", he said, "and I love you and I never want to hear you talk about yourself like that ever again, okay"?, she nodded her head and kissed his lips gently and said, "alright my love". Derek sighed happily and said, "I still can't believe that in around 7 months we're going to be parents, that still blows me away".
She said, "me too angel fish, me too, but growing inside me is a perfect little human that is part me and part you and I already love this little miracle so so much". Derek said, "me too, now, not only am I getting the sexiest woman in the world but I am getting a little angel in the bargain", she kissed his lips and said, "I love you with all of my heart".
Derek scooted closer to her and said, "and I love you baby girl, you are without a doubt the best thing that's ever happened to me", seconds later his lips claimed hers in a passionate kiss. They pulled apart to the sound of the door bell ringing, he said, "I'll get that", he kissed her one final time before getting up and making his way across to answer the door.
He pulled it open and saw his friends/family standing there, he stepped aside and said, "please come in" and he then watched as everybody walked by him. As they all walked through the door he couldn't help but notice that Dave and his mom were holding hands, he said, "uhhhh excuse me but what is happening here"?, Dave said, "happening with what"?, Derek pointed to their joined hands and said, "this, you two".
Fran smiled and said, "well honey we've started seeing each other and I know that you might not like it but" and Derek said, "I have one question for you momma'. Fran said, "alright", Derek said, "are you happy, does being with Dave make you happy"?, Fran looked at Dave and then at Derek and said, "he does honey, I haven't been this happy in a long time".
Derek hugged her and said, "as long as your happy momma I'm happy", Dave looked at Derek and said, "your mom means the world to me Derek and I will do whatever I can to make her happy". Derek smiled and said, "that's good to know Dave, very good to know" as they walked over to join the others in the living room.
When everybody was all together Fran said, "what did you want to talk to us about, is something wrong"?, Penelope said, "nothing is wrong but Derek and I were talking and since I'm almost 11 weeks along now if we wait much longer my dress isn't going to fit and since our guest list is all right here in the room with us we want to move our wedding up a little while".
JJ said, "when do you want to get married"?, Penelope and Derek intertwined their fingers together and smiled as she said, "Saturday". JJ looked at the others and said, "as in three days from now Saturday"?, Penelope said, "the one and the same" and Fran said, ";well then, let's get this party started then" and everybody nodded their heads yes in agreement as they started dividing up the tasks that needed to be done.
