A/N: I made a promise to my readers that I would warn ahead of time if the story took a dive into the darkness. This story is rated M for a reason. This is not intended for kids. You have been warned.
"I don't understand why you're even still here after what you were put through." She quietly said as tears fell faster. Maren's heart shattered at the winter spirit's honesty. Seeing her defiled when I could do nothing to help her hurt more than she could ever imagine. "I love you is why I'm still here sweet spirit, nothing that happened will change that." She softly said as her girlfriend sobbed into her chest. "I want to be where you are always." She whispered as she rubbed small circles around Elsa's back. She started to hum quietly the lullaby that her mom did with her when she was a young girl, and slowly Elsa began to relax, letting sleep pull her away.
Over the next week people had started arriving for the trial of the corrupt prince, meaning both sisters were busy running between dealing with the council and intercepting dignitaries. By the time the elder monarch made it back to her bedroom she'd immediately collapse into bed, only to wake before the sun the next day. In a few short hours the Southern Isles King and Queen would be arriving, and the tension was thick within the castle walls. Maren looked over at her sleeping girlfriend and frowned. I'm worried about her. She is pushing herself when she needs to be resting. Maren thought as she brushed the loose hairs from the sleeping queen's face. Elsa's eyes opened and she jumped away from the touch. "It's okay, It's just me." Maren said with her hands held up. Elsa took deep breaths registering that she was in fact not in danger.
"I'm so sorry." Her voice laced with sleep. "You don't have anything to apologize for." Maren said as she pulled the winter spirit into a cuddle. Elsa relaxed in the embrace running her fingers along Marens shirt as she yawned. "I have to go down to the dungeons today." She shivered at the thought. "Why can't Anna go?" Maren asked with concern. "The king and queen of the Southern Isles doesn't recognize Anna as a queen. The council is firm with me being the one to escort them to their kin." She acidly said. "Do you want me to come with you?" Maren gently asked. "I'll be fine. General Mattias will be with me." She replied as she snuggled in closer to the warmth.
"I wish I could stay in bed with you all day today." She said with a husky tone. Maren felt her core warm at the statement and blushed. "I want you to stay in bed all day. Tell the council to fuck off." Maren said as she leaned to kiss her giggling queen. Elsa pushed herself up and straddled her lover without breaking the intense kiss. She smiled when Marens hands flew to hold onto her as her hips began to grind against her lover trying to find purchase against the pool of heat at her core. Elsa grabbed one of Maren's hands and brought it to her core, hissing as her fingers grazed against her dripping wet center. "Please." Elsa whispered against the reindeer herders lips, and she moaned when fingers ghosted over her folds. Maren pushed two fingers into her queen as Elsa pitched forward and grabbed the headboard with a low moan. Maren rubbed her thumb against the winter spirits bundle of nerves and smiled when the queen tightened onto her fingers with a gasp. Maren began to start a steady rhythm thrusting in and out of Elsa as she was met with eager hips keeping up with the pace. Elsa's head rolled back as her magic began to pulse throughout her body.
A sharp knock on the door caused the two women to freeze. Go away! Elsa's head fell forward trying not to lose her composure. "Queen Anna sent me to fetch you. The Southern Isles ship has been spotted in the Fjord." Kai called out through the door. Maren looked up at her lover as she saw the defeat cross her face. "I'll be there in a moment." She replied as the temperature in the room dropped. Elsa pushed off of Maren and walked over towards the changing screen to get ready for the day. Maren hadn't moved a muscle as she watched Elsa switch into queen mode; her jaw dropped at witnessing Elsa putting her needs aside for the first time. Elsa. Maren got out of bed and walked over to the changing screen and frowned as she saw the tears streaming from Elsa's face. "I'm so sorry about this." Elsa sniffled. Maren pulled Elsa into an embrace and kissed the top of her head. "You have no reason to be sorry, but you have got to make time for yourself." Maren soothingly said. Elsa sighed, "Everything will calm down after the trial." Elsa said more as a reminder than a reply. She started to walk towards the door and gasped as Maren's arms captured her in an embrace. "I love you." Maren whispered. Elsa smiled and turned around, "I love you too." She whispered leaning forward and kissed Maren slowly. "I'll be back in a few hours." Maren sat down on the bed and watched as the door closed. She is going to get sick if she continues putting herself behind everyone else. Maren shook her head as she looked out to see the sun rising above the Fjord.
Elsa fidgeted with her hands as she waited for the king and queen to dismount the Southern Isles vessel. I really wish they had waited a few more hours. She bitterly thought as her mind replayed this morning. King Hakon and Queen Alina gracefully walked to the fidgeting queen and her royal guard. "I wish this was under better circumstances, but it's a pleasure to meet you." Queen Alina stated as she held her hand out for the Arendellian Queen. Elsa briefly shook her hand, and frowned when the queen quickly pulled her hand back. "Her hands are freezing cold." The queen whispered to her King. General Mattias frowned as Elsa straightened herself back, "Let's take you to our dungeons then I'll have our staff show you to your rooms." Elsa coldly stated as she turned towards the Castle.
The walk was brief and she hesitated at the top of the stairs when the King and Queen continued past her. Mattias turned gave a knowing smile of encouragement as he held out his arm for her for support. "Thank you." She whispered as she tried to reel her feelings of dread down. She stood off to the side as she heard the exchange between the Southern Isles family. "What have you done?" King Hakon sternly asked. The queen held her hand over her mouth as Iver explained his version of the events that led to his arrest. "She wanted me. There are witnesses that can stand as they heard those words coming from the queen's mouth the day I was falsely arrested. They have been keeping her from me, but just ask my fiance and she will tell you that everything was consensual." He continued as Queen Alina gave Elsa a pointed look. Mattias steeled himself as he felt the temperature drop. "That is enough for right now, You've had a long journey, I'll have the waitstaff show you to your room." General Mattias suggested as he took in his queen's discomfort. Elsa immediately turned and walked up the stairs and past her sister who was waiting in the foyer. "Elsa, wait, what's wrong?" She called out as her sister walked out of the front door. She gasped when she looked down at the ice path left where her sister was. Elsa. Anna grabbed her chest as her heart clenched.
