30. The Ultimate Update

Well. It's been over a month since my last update. And I'm sorry to say that it's not a true new chapter. When I said that I would be updating slower, I wasn't quite expecting... this. Ah well.

Truthfully, after I posted chapter 28, I kind of just abandoned the story. I typed up one sentence in 29 the next day, and then never touched the story again. While I have been extremely busy with school, I also lost interest in Wings of Fire for the meantime.

However, there are a few things that I hate. One of them includes just abandoning a story without any updates as to why. Or promises that the story would be updated, only to not be updated for 3 years (I'm looking at you, 'The Dragonets Aren't Coming').

That being said, I don't quite have the motivation to continue writing new chapters at the moment. Mostly due to the lack of new Wings of Fire books, as well as other factors. However, I do have a few regrets about some of the plot points in the story. Also, the writing in the earlier chapters is a big yikes. I really don't like it.

Therefore, I will be rewriting the whole story up to chapter 28 (The later chapters won't be edited as much as the later ones, but every chapter will get an update). The overall plot itself will largely remain the same, just with better writing and some changing of some plot points that I'm not happy with.

In fact, the Prologue has already gotten a minor update (It's not very different, although I might revisit it later).

You won't get a notification if the story gets updated (I think? I could be wrong). Therefore, you might have to keep checking in, in order to check out the rewrites. I won't be rushing myself with these rewrites, so it might be a while before a full rewrite is conducted.

I'm sorry for not publishing new chapters, but I spent about 3-4 months constantly writing. Eventually, one can get burnt out, I suppose. Hopefully I can soon get motivation to write a new chapter, although it most likely won't occur until the rewrite is complete. I know where I want this story to go, but I feel like I wouldn't do it justice at this point in time. I hope I can do the rewrite well and make you guys satisfied with it.
