Hey everyone! I hope this chapter is to your liking.
Review response:
Wolf Heart22- You are spot on. As once said by a snowman, he's an "irredeemable monster" ;)
Elsa Tomango- Don't you worry, Feisty Pants doesn't know how to give up. XD
Please enjoy!
Anna's POV
The thick ice keeping me from my sister doesn't seem to not be ready to melt anytime soon. Kristoff knocks on it.
"It's pretty solid. Without tools, I'm not sure I can-"
I shush him. I thought I heard something.
Wait, do I hear voices?
I place an ear to the ice.
" …you're a monster, Elsa." The voice sneers.
I stiffen. What did she just say? Who said that? I didn't see anyone else in the cell so how is there someone else in there? How dare she say that to Elsa!
"Anna? What-" The iceman starts.
I shush Kristoff again ignoring the cold as I press my ear more into the ice.
"Elsa, are you trying to ignore me?" It says next.
It's quiet for a moment, but then I hear a muffled response from Elsa.
"I told you to leave me alone." She says with a low voice.
My throat thickens. Elsa only sounds like when she's upset. Just who is in there with her?
I zone back in when I hear a gasp from the mystery voice.
"Could it be the real Anna showed up?"
Her mocking tone almost makes me miss her words.
Real Anna?
What exactly does that mean? I think back to what Elsa said when I tried to talk with her. She said something about me not being the real Anna as well. Come to think of it, the voice seems eerily familiar. The voice continues to harass my sister.
"Could she have come to rescue the scary ice monster who can turn hearts to ice?"
She did not just say that! Elsa is no monster and I can not believe after all this time that it's something that needs to be reestablished. Enough is enough, Elsa needs to hear the truth. Before I can call out, Kristoff is quickly covering my mouth dragging me back away from the ice towards an empty cell away from Elsa's.
What? Kristoff!
I struggle to pull away and he shushes me as he moves into a cell with me. He nods to the hall entrance and over the wall of ice, we can see the door opening. I stop struggling and Kristoff lets me go. I guess it's time for more listening then.
Elsa's POV
As the figure blows away, I sink down hugging myself.
Crack!
I jump slightly and turn to see the door practically being yanked open. Many guards are hacking away at the ice at the base of the door as Hans manages to squeeze inside. I stand up on wobbly legs staring at my big brother. He looks good. He has on a deep purple and black coat with gold trimmings with the Crocus flower sewn in. His dark teal pants are neatly pressed until they disappear into his tall back riding boots he fancies. His vest is a lighter teal that matches some of my old gloves I found in my room. I do notice the cravat is red instead of his purple one. He stands to look at me by the door with his hands poised behind his back. I stare at him.
"H-Hans." I manage to say after a moment.
"Hello, Sister."
His tone is soft, but I don't miss the guarded stance.
He still doesn't trust me…
He steps forward glancing around.
"You're not doing such a good job containing your powers, Elsa."
He doesn't sound angry for once. No, instead he sounds like he's contemplating his next move on a chessboard. Despite that reaction, I swallow bowing my head in shame.
"Forgive me, brother. I really have tried, it just does seem to be coming from my hands now." I admit.
I glance up nervously to see Hans looking slightly surprised.
"Really? I had no idea it could."
He steps forward slightly looking at me with concern as he rubs his arm.
He must be cold…
Wait, this seems familiar…
My hands are in chains and a storm raging outside, black boots step closer.
"I'll do what I can."
I shake my head to clear my thoughts.
Where did that come from? I focus on Hans who seems to be hesitating about something. Finally, he sighs and offers a small smile as he unfurls his arms.
"I missed you at dinner, Elsa." He says softly.
Seeing his face smile is all I need to feel relief. Immediately, I rush to him and hug him as tightly as I can with chains holding me back. After a moment, I feel him hug me back.
"I missed you too."
After a minute of feeling his familiar warmth, I feel him rubbing my back slowly and I close my eyes leaning my face into his chest. This last even less time, because I suddenly remember why I'm down here in the first place. I pull away slightly looking up at him.
"Hans I am so so so sorry. I swear I didn't mean to betray you. I just thought if she left, she'd go away. I know I hurt you and I'm so sorry I-"
My brother gently shushes me and pulls me in for a tighter hug.
"It's going to be alright, Elsa."
He pauses.
"I just need you to do one thing for me to prove to the council of your loyalty."
My head snaps up. A chance? He's giving me a second chance?!
"Anything." I blurt out without hesitation.
He smiles and it reaches his eyes for once.
"Good. I just need you to read something to the people. An apology."
I'm nodding immediately.
"Of course Hans. I've done enough damage."
He smiles more before turning to the guards who have finally freed the door. He motions to me.
"Unchain the princess and have someone clean her up in her room. We have a speech to give."
The guards bow and I am soon walking out of the cell with Han's hand on my right shoulder. I glance back at the cell in time to see the ice Anna standing by the window smirking at me before she blows away again. I turn my attention forward again, finally ready to face the people who want me dead.
Thanks for reading!
