There's a loud rumbling before Poe agrees to sit in Ackbar's chair all the while Threepio's panicking. Then Poe proceeds to fly half a ship similarly to that one scene in Revenge of the Sith although he does call to BB-8 for help with certain things. The front half of the cruiser lands right outside the remains of the old rebel base with the bow just barely touching the giant door. C-3PO stands back up after the tumult that just occured.
"Are we dead?" Poe looks over at Leia. "Am I repromoted?" "Poe. You did an excellent job flying half a ship. But I'm afraid you're going to do a little more to earn back your title." Poe gives a face of disgusted disappointment.
