Turbo Legs sprinted down the street of Crime Infested Japanese City. Why was it that he had to deal with this today, the day of the UH Sports Festival? He'd been so excited to watch his little brother participate in these revered holy games, but unfortunately, he had other business to take care of first.
Alas, that's what heroes sign up for. They put their personal lives on hold to protect the citizens that don't have a hero license. He was clad in full super gundam mecha super body suit armor. He tapped his headset communicator attached to his helmet. "Squad A, search south of 34th street," he ordered his sidekicks. "Squad B, search north of 34th. We've got to capture this villain!"
"Yes sir!" he sidekicks responded. One particularly concerned sidekick asked, "Sir, shouldn't you have backup? I can meet you at your location in two mintues."
"No, I've got it covered. I'll search the entire perimeter."
"Yes sir."
Turbo Legs ended the call, and focused his RAM on running the facial recognition software he'd recently installed. If this villain was within 40 meters of his line of sight, Turbo Legs would recognize him. He ducked in and out of alley ways, jumped onto a roof, and then jumped down onto the street. He continued running and scanning for his target.
And he really hoped he'd be the one to find this guy. This villain would be bad news for even his best sidekicks. His hopes were answered when he ran by a very dark, super creepy, back alleyway. His sensors beeped, alerting him that a face match had been found. So he did a bunch of super cool backflips, ran off a wall, and heroically landed in the alleyway.
It was so dark that he could barely make out the outline of the villain. If not for his super updated software, he probably wouldn't have seen the guy. But this was the guy. This was definitely the guy. He had the same face shape, facial bone structure, eye curvature, and, of course, he lacked a nose. "Smudge, the Hero Killer! Give in to justice!" shouted Turbo Legs.
The figure didn't move. He was squatting on a dumpster, his back curved forward, holding something.
A weapon. He's armed. Turbo Legs thought. He started charging his particle beam cannons, located on his forearms. I'll have to use deadly force. "Smudge, the Hero Killer, surrender or face violent arrest and apprehension."
Smudge chuckled. He stood up. He looked at Turbo Legs. Turbo Legs took note of the man's slender, lithe body. He'll be fast. Activating 360 degree sensors. Activating 1000x speed eye camera.
"All that damn armor is annoying," Smudge said. He smirked wickedly. He jumped at the hero. Turbo legs block an attack, jumped back, and emitted a particle beam. Smudge ducked under it, and jumped back.
"So you intend to kill me?" asked the Hero Killer.
"Do not resist arrest, or I'll be forced to use deadly force."
"Yup, that's what they all say. You know, a hero license is a license to kill. You and all your little sidekicks have a license to kill whoever it is that the government tells them to kill. As long as we're labeled a villain, it's fine."
"Do not resist arrest," Turbo Legs insisted. He pointed his particle beam hands at the hero killer. "Drop to your knees and put your hands up where I can see them."
So Smudge did. He dropped to his knees, kept his head down, and put his hands up. With his particle beams still pointed at the Hero Killer, Turbo Legs approached slowly. "Keep your hands up, and stay still. I will apply handcuffs."
Smudge was still as Turbo Legs approached him. He waited until just the right moment…
SLASH!
Turbo Legs had walked right into a trap. Smudge had used some very thin thread to set up a tripwire. When TurboLegs stepped on it, a knife that had been tied high in the air came zooming down, stabbing Turbo Legs in the arm, piercing his armor and his skin. Smudge then jumped back, pulling on another thin thread to yoink that same knife toward him.
Turbo Legs jumped back, and aimed his particle cannon at the hero killer.
The Hero Killer licked the blood off the knife.
If only Turbo Legs had known that was his quirk. When Smudge tastes your blood, you can't move. You're paralyzed. How does the physics work on that, well, who knows? But had Turbo Legs known, he wouldn't have been lying helpless on the floor.
He shouldn't have charged into this situation alone. If only he had some backup! If only he had some backup, he wouldn't be laying helplessly as The Hero Killer approached him.
His facial recognition software told him that Smudge had murderous intent in his eyes.
Looks like I can't watch you win the sports festival, Little Bro, Turbo Legs thought.
