Hi guys. Just a little warning about some character death in this chapter and some emotions in this chapter and the next. Thanks for reading so far and I hope you keep reading. :)
"Misto?" A voice from overhead.
Misto was still half asleep so couldn't really tell who it was and where it was coming from. He rubbed his eyes and sat up. He was still surrounded by his sisters. His father was still there but something was off. He looked over to his father.
"Dad?" Misto whispered.
No response. That was the thing that was wrong, Munkustrap was no longer breathing. Misto nearly started to cry when he noticed this. He decided not to though and stayed strong for his sisters. Misto and his sisters were taken out of Jennys den.
By the time they had been taken out his sisters had woken up. They looked around and were joined by Carbucketty, Exotica and Mungojerrie.
"What's going on?" Exotica asked Misto.
"I don't know. We've just been taken out here." Misto answered her bewildered.
"Where's dad?" Victoria asked.
"He's in there." Jemima said, turning away from the group.
Mungojerrie turned to her. He then hugged her for some moral support. Jemima usually didn't like hugs but needed one this time.
"He'll be alright won't he?" Carbcuketty asked the group.
"I don't know." Misto answered again.
"It's okay Misto." Exotica tried to calm him.
"I hope so." Misto answered her.

Tugger and Alonzo were still on patrol. They didn't want to go back to Jennys den because of what was going on.
"Hey Lonz?" Tugger finally said.
"Yeah?" Alonzo asked back.
"This patrol is boring right."
"Yeah."
"Is it normally this boring?"
"Not normally. Normally there's like a peek and a policle fighting or some junk that needs to be moved."
"You seriously move junk?!"
"Yeah. Otherwise we won't be able to move around so easily as we do."
"True. Do you ever move junk just to have fun?"
"No because Munkustrap would kill me if I did."
"Don't want to get on his bad side."
Alonzo nodded. Both of them knew what Munkustrap was like when he was mad. Plus Demeter sometimes got involved which was just as bad. Before they could continue their conversation voices came from outside the junkyard.
"What was that?" Alonzo said walking over to where the voices were coming from.
"Wait for me then." Tugger said, trying to keep up with Alonzo.
Alonzo looked down out of the junkyard. He saw blue lights and police everywhere. Tugger managed to catch up with his friend. They then saw a blur of red fur. They knew exactly who that was.
"Macavity." Alonzo whispered.
"How did they get him?" Tugger whispered back.
"The kittens must have given a trail to find him."
"Thank goodness for that."
The two toms looked at each other and then back at Macavity. Macavity was being thrown into the back of the police car. Usually Macavity wasn't there for the police to arrest him but it looked like they had finally caught up with him after all this time.
"At least we don't have to worry about him anymore." Tugger chuckled.
"Don't be so sure Tugger. I'm sure he'll come back one way or another." Alonzo answered.
"Stop being so negative Lonz!" Tugger hissed.
Alonzo breathed out. Then the police car pulled away with Macavity in it. The two toms watched after the car and then turned to each other. That was it, Macavity was gone.
Before they could relax however, Jellyrom came running up to them with tears streaming down her face. They both knew what this meant. They needed to get back to the yard and quickly.

The tribe gathered around Jennys den. They had all heard the news and were trying to keep the kittens from going in just in case. Tugger and Alonzo joined them looking around at the solemn faces. Tugger tried to go in but was held back by his own feelings. He left Demeter for some time to Munkustrap.
"I can't…. I can't go in there." Tugger said, wiping his hand along his mouth.
"It's alright Tug, you don't have to yet." Jellyrom said, stroking his arm.
"But I should have been with him…."
"Don't chew yourself up." Alonzo comforted his friend.
Tugger pulled away from the two cats. Misto watched his uncle from a distance. He walked up to Tugger once Tugger got away from the crowd.
"Uncle Tugger?" Misto asked Tugger quietly.
"I thought I told you not to call me that…" Tugger chuckled.
"Because it makes you feel old right?" Misto also chuckled.
"Right."
"Getting a bit much?" Misto said looking back at the crowd they had both got away from.
"Something like that."
"Needed some space?"
"You know something…"
"What?"
"You sound so much like your dad."
Misto took in a deep breath. No one had ever said that to him before. True Misto and Munkustrap weren't very similar so he wouldn't hear it often.
"Misto… You alright?" Tugger asked him.
"Yeah… Yeah I'm fine."
"Daydreaming?"
"Yeah."
Tugger smiled.
"We'd better go and join the others." Tugger finally decided.
"Alright." Misto agreed.
Misto followed his uncle back to the centre of the junkyard. The crowd looked over at them but soon looked back at the den waiting for Jenny.
"What did Tugger want?" Jemima asked Misto as he re-joined his sisters.
"He needed some air." Misto replied sitting down next to her and Victoria.
"Did you?"
"Maybe. I just needed to talk to him to be honest."
"Yeah, he's a good cat to talk to." Jemima laughed.
The two siblings laughed together. Victoria just stared at them thinking how weird they were. She never got what her two siblings were doing. Before the siblings could discuss anything more, Jenny came out of her den wiping her paws on a piece of paper towel. Everyone looked up at her for news about their protector and his wife.
"He's gone." Jenny finally managed to say.
There was a group gasp. Some broke down and others stayed stable as much as they could. Jenny walked over to the kittens and looked them in the face.
"You can go in now." Jenny said quietly to them.
"Thanks Jenny." Misto replied.
The kittens went into the den. They found their mother waiting for them with a little smile on her face. She waved them in and hugged them tightly to her fur.
"He's in a better place now." Demeter whispered to them.
Victoria and Jemima started to quietly sob into Demeters fur. Misto managed to slip away from his mother's grasp and went into the room where Munkustrap was.
"Dad?" He said walking up to his father.
There came no response but Misto didn't need one. He sat on the edge of the bed where his father was lying.
"I know you can't hear me right now. I just want to know we're going to be okay and I wanted to thank you for all you did for me. I don't think I've ever told you how much you meant to me growing up but I'll tell you now I have never loved any cat more than I did you."
Misto looked at his father.
"I don't care that Macavity is biologically my father… I know who my real father is and that's you and that's never going to change. I know Macavity could be back but I'm ready for him now and you gave me that strength."
Jemima appeared at the doorway of the room.
"Thanks dad. I'm never going to forget you." Misto said kissing his father's paw for the last time.
Misto dusted himself down and got up from the bed to see his sister staring at him. Jemima gave a little smile and went over to her brother.
"How much did you hear?" Misto asked her.
"Most of it." Jemima replied.
"Do you think he knows all that?"
"I'm sure he does."
Misto smiled and hugged his sister close. They could finally leave the room happy that their father could finally be in peace.
