Chapter 43: Shay's Wrath

"Where is he? Answer me!"

Yuya gulped, unsure how to answer.

"Look, I don't know what you saw, but I'm not the one who dueled Yuto."

"Bullshit! I know what I saw! Fine, if you won't tell me..."

A duel anchor wrapped itself around Yuya's arm, trapping him.

"Then I'll force it out of you. Let's duel!"

Realizing he didn't have a choice in the matter, Yuya raised his duel disk.

"Fine, if it'll stop you from acting so crazy, lets duel."

"Be careful, Yuya."

"Don't worry, Zuzu, I'll be fine.

"Enough talk!"

"Right!"

DUEL!

Yuya: 4000

Shay: 4000

"I'll start things off with Performapal Skullcrobat Joker, and use his special ability to add Stargazer Magician to my hand. Now I use him and Timegazer Magician to set the pendulum scale! I Pendulum Summon Odd Eyes Pendulum Dragon and Performapal Whip Snake! With that, I end my turn."

"Is that all? Pathetic! I draw! And I'll start by summoning Raidrator's Vanishing Lanius! And I use his special ability to summon another one from my hand! And once more!"

Shay's three monsters emerged with a fearsome battle cry. Yuya could only gulp in horror.

"I don't like the looks of this."

"With this three monsters, I build the overlay network to Xyz summon! Come forth, Raidraptor Rise Falcon!"

Shay's signature Xyz Monster descended with a mighty shriek, sending shock waves that pushed Yuya and Zuzu back.

"But don't think I'm done yet, because I activate the spell card Rank Up Magic Raid Force, to trade in Rise Falcon for Blaze Falcon!"

Rise falcon was covered in flames, transforming it in a brilliant display. When the fire died down, Blaze Falcon stretched its wings out with a mighty battle cry.

"And by detaching an overlay unit, Blaze Falcon can destroy all of your special summoned monsters. What's more, for each monster destroyed this way, you lose 500 life points."

"Wait, what?"

Blaze Falcon unleashed a barrage of heavy artillery, destroying Yuya's Whip Snake and Odd Eyes before hitting Yuya,sending him flying.

Yuya: 3000

"What's more, I can attack you directly with him as long as he has an overlay unit, so let him have it! This is for Yuto."

Yuya had just enough time to look up before being knocked back down by a low swoop, causing him to cry in pain.

"Yuya!"

Yuya: 2000

"And when Blaze Falcon deals you damage from a direct attack, I can destroy a monster on your field, so say goodbye to your Joker!"

Yuya's Joker tried in vain to escape, but in the end succumbed to the massive blasts. By the time the barrage had ended, a massive crater stood between the two sides of the field.

"I end my turn with two cards face down."

"Good, then we can join in!"

(Intrusion Penalty: 2000 life points)

Shay turned to find three obelisk force students grinning down at him, the shocks from their duel disks barely even registering to them.

"Look what we have here, an Xyzian and our two targets. Looks like its our lucky day, boys."

"Come on, let's do this quick."

"Leave the kid, he's not going anywhere. Once we finish off this punk, we can take him away piece of cake."

"Are you three going to talk, or would you rather bore me to death?"

Grinding their teeth in anger, the three foes drew their hands.

"My turn, and I summon Ancient Gear Hunting Hound. Blast him for 600 points,Hunting Hound!"

The fireball barely singed Shay's coat as he lightly brushed off the embers.

"That all you got?"

Shay: 2600

"I think you know the answer to that, Xyz scum. I use my hound's effect to fuse him with the other two in my hand to Fusion summon Triple Ancient Gear Hunting Hound!"

The three headed mechanical beast emerged, its gear clanking loudly as it moved.

"Pluck his bird with tripe burst!"

Each of the three heads shot out a burst of energy, sending Shay's falcon plummeting to the ground. Shay remained completely unfazed.

Shay: 2400

"I activate my face down Rank Up Magic Raptor's Force, allowing me to return Blaze Falcon to the field and use him to Xyz Raidraptor Revolution Falcon!"

Unhappy that he couldn't finish off his prey that turn, the Obelisk Force duelist ended his turn, allowing his teammate to go next.

"I draw! First, I play Polymerization to fuse my three hounds together to summon Triple Ancient Gear Hunting Hound! But the fusion action doesn't end there, because I activate Fusion Recovery to return a Hunting Hound and Polymerization to my hand, to use again! I fuse Ancient Gear Hunting Hound with Triple Ancient Gear Hunting Hound to fusion summon Ultimate Ancient Gear Hunting Hound!"

The final evolution of the mechanical hounds pounced onto the field, striking Yuya and Shay with lightning and reducing their life points to half. But while Shay merely grunted in annoyance, Yuya fell unconscious from the pain.

Shay: 1300

Yuya: 1000

"Hope you weren't too attached to your monster, because my Ultimate pooch is going to rip him apart like chew toy. And after he's gone, your next because he can attack three times per turn. Go, Savage strike!"

The mechanical hound leapt, metal teeth ready to grind the falcon to dust...

Only for Revolution Falcon to ram right through it, reducing it to a smoldering pile of scrap metal. Its owner could only look on in horror as the attack continued, hitting him and sending him flying.

Obelisk Force 2: 0000

"Marty!"

"What just happened?"

"When Revolution Falcon battles a special summoned monster, that monster's attack points are reduced to zero. In other words, your friend beat himself.

The third duelist grunted before angrily drawing his card.

"You'll pay for that, Xyz scum! I draw! I too summon an Ancient Gear Hunting Hound. This is for Marty!"

Once more, Shay was hit by a small fireball, and once more he showed no reaction whatsoever.

Shay: 700

"Think you're tough, huh? Well, I use my Hound's other effect to fusion summon Triple Ancient Gear Hunting Hound! I may not be able to take out your raptor, but your friend isn't so lucky..."

"Wait, don't."

"Huh?"

"The professor gave us strict orders to bring him back in one piece. If you finish him off, the damage could do irreversible damage to his body that we can't afford. We'll worry about him in a minute, worry about the Xyzian scum."

"Rrrrgh, I see your points. I end my turn."

Then, to everyone's surprise, Yuya slowly rose to his feet.

"Yuya! You're alright!"

"Dammit Emmett, I could've finished him off!"

Yuya raised his head, eyes piercing through his opponents with intent to kill. But to everyone's surprise, they weren't Yuya's eyes.

They were Yuto's eyes.

"You Academy punks have hurt people for the last time! I'm going to put a stop to you once and for all!"
