Chapter 27

"Thomas for the last time you are the theif they are chasing you so just take the bag of corn!" Liana yelled throwing her face into her hands. "But if I were a thief I would go for something much more valuable than a bag of corn." Thomas said kicking the sack of corn over.

"Ugh, thats it everyone take a water break I need to go punch a wall!" Liana yelled walking away. Thomas's plan to make Liana fall in love with him and not been working at all this was their tenth fight that day and it was only nine a.m.

"Dad you need to assign him his own group of guards." Liana complained while Eugene was trying to conduct guard try outs. "Li I love you but I'm busy, besides what happened to not let anything or anyone stopping you." Eugene said watching one of the men trying out trip over air.

"I know but I can't take him." Liana groaned. "Well your going to have deal with annoying people when your captain so I would get used to it." Eugene said tapping her nose with his quill.

Liana rolled her eyes and walked back over to find Thomas having the guards doing push-ups. "Thomas why are they doing push-ups?" Liana asked crossing her arms. "They were complaining and I know you don't tolerate it so I made them do push-ups." Thomas said handing Liana her whistle.

"Oh thanks." Liana said letting a tiny smile cross her face. "Ok let's go!" Liana yelled blowing her whistle. After a couple hours training ended and Liana had started cleaning up.

"Hey I was wondering, I've heard how amazing Attilas bakery is I thought maybe you'd want to go with me." Thomas said handing Liana a sword. "Oh sure I guess, let me go change." Liana said putting the sword away. Thomas smiled as she watched her run off. A couple of minutes later she returned in a light pink dress with short puffy sleeves and was short enough to see she wasn't wearing shoes.

"Ready." Liana said walking up to Thomas. "Ok well let's go." Thomas smiled. "Li!" Derick yelled running up to her. "Hi." Liana said kissing his cheek.

"Where are you guys going?" Derick asked slipping his hands around Liana. "Oh we were just gonna go to attilas bun and grab a snack." Thomas said trying not to get distracted by Liana swaying in Dericks arms.

"Derick you should come with us." Liana said slipping out of his arms and grabbing his hands. "Can he come Thomas?" Liana asked turned around to Thomas. "Yeah sure." Thomas said crossing his arms.

"Let's go then." Derick said putting his arm around Lianas neck and started walking. They all reached attilas bun and went inside.

Liana and Derick ordered first. "Two strawberry cupcakes." Derick said slipping a sliver coin across the counter. "Yay my favorite." Liana said grabbing the two cupcakes. Derick walked up to the counter next. "One black coffee." Thomas said tossing a sliver coin on the counter.

Thomas grabbed his drink and went to sit down. He watched Liana giggling as Derick swiped a small dollop of icing on her nose. "So Derick how did you and Liana meet." Thomas said just wanting to stop Derick and Liana from goofing around.

"I accidentally scared her and she knocked me out with her journal." Derick said taking a bite of his cupcake. "You have a journal." Thomas said almost choking on his drink. "Yeah." Liana laughed.

"What do you write about?" Thomas asked intrigued by this new information. "Everyday I write and draw a picture about something that happened that day, my mom used to have a journal and I loved reading it so she got me one when I was little and I've had it ever since." Liana said tucking her hair behind her ear.

Thomas smirked the journal that was how he was going to become the man of her dreams all he needed to do was read and learn about her. "Could I see it, read a little." Thomas said taking another sip of his drink.

"Oh no, no one's allowed to read it but me." Liana said shaking her head. "I'm not even allowed to." Derick said leaning back on his seat.

"Oh yeah I get it." Thomas said trying to not let Liana see how disappointed he was. After awhile Liana decided she needed to get home for dinner so Derick escorted her back.

Thomas kept trying to think of a way to read the journal than it hit him the perfect idea if everything went according to plan.

After dinner Liana went to hang out with Flynn, when they were little they used to play broad games together so when they got older they agreed once a month they would set aside a day to play a game.

Of course this gave the perfect opportunity for Thomas to start on his plan. He knew Lianas room locked from the inside and that Liana always locked it at night but he also knew that the castle had a key to every single room in the castle.

Thomas had already gotten the key by telling the guard that watched them he needed them to set up guard training early next morning. He also knew Liana was light sleeper because of the time he over heard Liana tell Derick about her waking up when she heard one of the guards quietly coming back in after doing his nightly rounds.

He looked around in front of her room for any creaky floor boards or anything that would wake her. "Thomas." Liana said walking up to her room.

"Liana!" Thomas said nervously. "What are you doing, your room is on the other side of the castle. Liana said pointing down the hall. "Yes but I remembered you telling Derick that you're a light sleeper and I know the guards do their nightly rounds here so I brought you these." Thomas said handing her a pair of ear muffs.

"Are these ear muffs?" Liana asked taking them. "Yes but they work wonders for blocking out noise." Thomas said nodding. "Oh well thanks, um have a good night." Liana said walking inside her room and closing the door.

Thomas sighed relived he hadn't got caught. He then waited until he heard the clock outside her room strike midnight. He waited a couple minutes to make sure she was asleep and then began.

He unlocked her room and quietly slipped in, Liana was sleeping peacefully and was wearing the ear muffs just like he hoped. Thomas quickly started looking for her journal.

Finally he found it on her dresser. He quickly grabbed and slipped out. He hurried off to his room where he read Lianas journal. When he finished it was almost morning. He quickly snuck back to her room and returned it so she'd never knew it was gone.

When he returned to his room he fell asleep. He was going to win Liana if it was the last thing he ever did.
