Vic woke up the next day. He looked around his bedroom to find that Louise was nowhere in sight. He hopped out of bed and quickly got dressed in his clothing.
He exited the room and searched everywhere in the house. In the bathroom. In Mary-Beth's room. In the kitchen. In the living room. Louise was nowhere in sight.
Where is she? Vic thought scratching his head.
It wasn't like Louise to disappear all of a sudden. Where could she have gone off to? Why hasn't she let Vic know she was going out?
Vic felt his heart pumping. He thought that Louise was probably at Lance's apartment. He hoped that Louise wasn't offered more coke. So Vic quickly ran out of the door and hopped into the Cheetah parked outside.
Vic started the engine and quickly drove out through the road. He had a bad feeling about this as he drove as quickly as he could through Vice Point and down the long road to reach Washington Beach. Vic continued driving until he finally parked into the garage of Lance's apartment. He quickly hopped out of the vehicle and ran to the front door.
Vic frantically knocked on the front door. No one answered. Vic turned the knob and found out that the door was already open. He opened the door slowly and walked inside. Lance was lying on the couch passed out.
"Louise!" Vic called.
"Hey, Vic!" Lance greeted as he slowly woke up from his stupor.
"Hey," Vic greeted dryly. "Hey, where's Louise?"
Lance looked around the room. "I don't know... " he replied. "Shit. If that bitch ripped us off. I'll rip her head off!"
"Hey, she's clean," Vic snarled. "Unlike you."
"No, she is a drug addict," Lance claimed. "I'm just having fun. There's a difference."
Just then, Mary-Jo Cassidy ran into the apartment building. She turned to Vic. "Vic!" she told him breathlessly. "Vic! They got Louise! They had me too... it was awful... all these men, all sweaty hot and well... Nobody laid a finger on me, but... they got Louise."
"What?" Vic cried out as his eyes widened with surprise. "Who's got Louise?"
"They got her," Mary-Jo repeated, "and they said they'll kill her if you don't do what they want."
"Who?" Vic asked once again.
"Armando Mendez... " Mary-Jo finally answered, "he wanted me too... I could see it in his eyes... these Latino men always like voluptuous women... I nearly got taken!"
Vic then turned to Lance. "Alright, come on Lance," he told his lazy brother. "Let's finish this!"
"Why?" Lance asked apathetically. "She's a train wreck, let him have her."
"What?" Vic asked glaring at Lance in frustration. "Are you serious?"
"Yeah, move on," Lance answered bluntly. "Plenty more fishes on the sea, baby..."
Vic just glared at his ignorant brother. He was no longer in the mood of his carelessness and was very adamant of Louise's safety. "You get moving right now," Vic demanded sternly, "or I'll shoot you first."
"Alright, alright... " Lance answered submissively as he slowly rose out of his seat. "I'm coming, I'm coming, don't worry about it."
The Vance brothers walked out of the apartment building, leaving Mary-Jo inside all alone. "Wait!" she called out desperately. "I'm telling you, it was nearly me... one day, it'll be me! One day... "
Vic and Lance left the apartment and walked over to the garage outside. "C'mon," Vic urged his brother. "Move it. Lance!"
"Man, we're wasting our time," Lance told him shaking his head. "Bitch is probably dead already!"
Just then, the Mendez goons came around, and one of them was armed with a bazooka. "Armando has got two things to say," the one welding the bazooka said. "1 'Get out of Vice now and the girl lives.' 2... "
To send the second message, the goon aimed for the brothers, who each split up right before dodging the massive bullet that zipped straight for the garage. The bullet hit Lance's Infernus inside the garage, blowing it up completely. The vehicle was now burnt to a black crisp.
"MY CAR!" Lance screamed at the top of his lungs.
He watched as the Mendez goons returned to their vehicle and drove away. Lance was now fired up. He had saved a lot of money on his trusty Infernus and was now furious it was blown in flames. So he got onto the motorbike on the side of the garage and started the engine. He rode away, chasing after the Mendezes' vehicle down the road of Ocean Beach.
Vic just sighed in annoyance. The Mendezes were really adamant about wanting the Vance brothers out of town, and they were using Vic's official girlfriend as bait to get him to comply. So without hesitation, Vic spotted another motorbike on the side of the garage, hopped onto it, and followed the Mendezes' vehicle.
They were shooting at Lance, who was more than furious at the Mendez brothers after what their goons did to his vehicle. "I'm gonna tear Mendez apart!" he cried out furiously.
Vic had to protect his brother at all cause, especially since his own stupidity would get himself killed as a result. So Vic fired bullets at the vehicle the Mendez goons were driving as they chased Lance through Washington Beach. By the time they got through Vice Point, the Mendez goons' vehicle caught fire and exploded, leaving Lance to continued riding through the roads.
"No one does that to my wheels!" he shouted.
Vic then turned to his left to find two more vehicles rolling up on Lance to fire bullets at him. He used his machine gun to fire back at the Mendez goons' vehicle to keep them from hurting Lance.
Lord, what did I ever do to be related to a complete idiot?! Vic thought.
Lance was completely oblivious to the fact that the Mendez goons were chasing him through Vice Point.
"He's gonna be sorry that he ever messed with me!" he snarled as Vic continued shooting at the Mendez goons' vehicle.
It was getting difficult for Vic to aim for the Mendez goons' vehicle with Lance in the way. As the chase continued, Vic finally caused the Mendez goons' vehicle to catch fire and explode as Lance made his way down the road to Prawn Island.
Vic and Lance finally drove to the Mendez mansion, avoiding attacks from Mendez goons.
"It's time for some Vance vengeance, baby!" Lance bellowed as he got his sub machine gun ready.
Armando was just standing right at the front of the mansion. "DO NOT LET THEM IN!" he ordered his men. "Barricade the door! Kill them!"
Lance ran up to the Mendez Mansion and fired several bullets at the guards. "Your mine mother-sucka!" Lance yelled as he started to run to the entrance.
"Kill this idiot!" Armando ordered his men as he ran inside the mansion.
Vic just palmed his face in frustration. Seriously, Lord, what did I do to earn a moron for a brother?! he thought.
He watched as Lance made his way inside the mansion to fire back. Vic looked around to see how he could sneak inside the Mendez Mansion.
Meanwhile, Armando had Louise sitting on a chair in the bedroom while circling around her. Louise kept her equanimity.
"Listen, dames," Armando told her, "it's that simple. I mean you wouldn't want your daughter to grow into an orphan all because you wouldn't tell your boyfriend to just leave this city once and for all. I mean think about it this way. You convince Victor and his imbecilic brother to leave and you and Victor would have a lovely time together in wherever you fly off too. That way, everyone lives unscathed."
Just then, Lance suddenly burst inside holding his machine gun at Armando. "Okay, Mendez!" he shouted at the Bolivian. "You're gonna get yours after what you did to my ride, you asshole!"
Armando just laughed at how pathetic he found Lance's confrontation. "You think just because you got a gun pointed at me, I'm supposed to be scared of you?" he chuckled. "You think you're such a threat to me and the rest of my gang?! At this point, I'm surprised you're even alive due to your idiocy. So at least you managed to impress me somehow."
"You're gonna get yours now, Mendez!" Lance shouted angrily. "You're gonna- "
Suddenly, one of Mendez's goons came up from behind and smacked Lance in the back of his head with his pistol, knocking him out cold.
"Thanks for that," Armando told the goon. "Honestly, this guy is too much of a moron for me to waste any of my ammo on him. I'm only after the real target."
Just then, there was a bang coming from downstairs in the back, as if someone had broken inside.
"Ah shit!" Armando growled. "That Victor must have gotten inside the back!"
He then cocked his pistol back and pointed it at Louise.
"You're not gonna used that on me, are you?" Louise asked.
"I'm sorry," Armando told her in a low voice. "But I have no other choice."
Before Louise could react, Armando shot her twice in the stomach, causing her to gasp in surprise as she fell off her chair, clutching her stomach tightly.
"I would've killed you instantly," Armando told her, "but I'd prefer to have you feel every pain before you finally meet your maker. Let's see if you could survive that!"
As Armando left Louise bleeding on the floor, he went inside his closet and pulled out a flamethrower.
"And it seems that Victor is gonna get a much worse fate when I'm finished with him," he growled under his breath.
Armando then walked into the backroom downstairs to confront Vic inside. Vic looked around. "Louise?" he called softly. "Lance?"
Armando then approached Vic ready to use the flamethrower against him. "Do you think your hero enough to bring back the dead?" he asked Vic, who just noticed his appearance.
"Where are they Armando?" Vic demanded furiously.
"They're upstairs resting... in peace!" Armando replied bluntly. "Would you like to join them?"
"If you've hurt them... " Vic growled ominously.
"SeƱor," Armando told him calmly, "I assure you, they didn't feel a thing. Unfortunately, the same will not be said of you."
So Armando then held the flamethrower right in front of him, walked closer to Vic, and pulled the trigger, causing flames to shoot out slowly from the weapon. Vic quickly got out of the way to dodge the flames. He used his AK-47 to fire bullets back at Armando.
"GUARDS!" Armando called.
Before he knew it, Vic looked around to find the Mendez goons coming around to fire bullets at Vic using their assault rifles. Vic paid them no mind as he avoided both the bullets and flames and focused on Armando as he fired more bullets at him.
"Is that the best you've got?!" Armando taunted. "Bullets! I eat your bullets!"
Vic had finally had enough. He was now fed up with everything he had dealt with since his arrival to Vice City. He visited the place to join the army. He got discharged because of a corrupt soldier. He got two jobs (one as a chef for a catering truck, and the other as an airport security guard). He lost them both because he was being attacked by the Cholos, which prompted him to adapt to crime life to survive. He had to build empires to raise enough money and to survive. He tried to give Louise a better life. He was forced to build drug empires to save his skin from the Mendez brothers. He worked with a transsexual German film director. He helped a celebrity singer from his demise from a gang of unknown goons. He finally rejoined the military to help defeat Martinez's soldiers and finally get Martinez discharged from the military himself. He did all of that to raise money and survive, and he refused to die trying to save his girlfriend and brother.
So Vic turned around and fired at the goons who were shooting at him while dodging the flames around him. He kept his finger on the trigger as the weapon he was holding rapidly fired a bunch of weapons. Vic then turned around to face Armando and fired as many bullets into him as he can. About over 20 bullets ripped into Armando's chest.
"ARGH!" Armando growled in pain as he dropped to his knees and lost his grip of his flamethrower, which clattered to the ground.
Armando then fell flat on his face as he bled out on the ground. He was dead.
Vic looked around to see the flames slowly dwindling down. He dodged the flames and made his way through the door leading to the inside of the mansion.
As Vic made his way upstairs, he checked every room in the mansion for his brother and girlfriend. When he finally came to the end of the bedroom, he saw Lance and Louise lying on the floor. Vic, however, only had his eyes on Louise, who looked severely wounded.
"Louise!" Vic cried out as he zipped past Lance and headed to Louise.
Vic dropped to his knees right next to his girlfriend. She had two bullet wounds on her stomach, and she looked up to stare at Vic with her blue eyes shining like the sun glistening in the pond. "Hey... Vic... " she whispered wheezing softly. She was too injured to speak out loud. "You came for me... No one ever really did much for me before... that'ssss sweet of you... "
"Hey, hey, come on... " Vic told her trying to scoop her up into his arms. "Listen, let's get you to a hospital."
"I don't think... th-th-th-there's much point in that, V-V-Vic," Louise stammered in despair.
Vic was starting to feel sick. He widened his eyes in shock at what Louise had just said. "Come on, Louise!" he urged trying to convince his girlfriend fight her wounds.
"We coulda had something... special," Louise whispered barely coherent.
"Yeah... no, we did have something special... " Vic told her softly.
"Make sure Mary-Jo takes care of my baby," Louise told Vic.
She then tossed her head back, closed her eyes slowly, and lay lifelessly on the floor. Vic stared down in sorrow. Louise has died from her wounds.
"Oh, Louise... " Vic whispered sadly. "Louise... "
He felt tears falling down his eyes as he rested his head on Louise's corpse. He began to cry softly. It was the first ever time that Vic has actually cried since he was 12. He had wanted to give Louise a better life after learning more about her past and everything that happened to her since her adulthood. He had wanted to make her a better parent to her infant child. Louise had finally got a chance to live a better life, to finally learn the true meaning of love - and she ended up losing her whole life, something that she would now never get to experience.
It was even worse for Vic since aside from the fact that Louise was his first ever girlfriend, she was also the first to ever show true love to Vic, and for him to see her die in his arms was perhaps the worst heartbreak he had ever experienced. He rose his head up and slowly dropped Louise's lifeless head back softly onto the carpet. Vic took a glimpse at the star necklace Louise wore around her neck. He slowly reached over to take it off and stored it in his pocket as he stood up on his feet.
Lance then regained his consciousness and watched as Vic began to somberly walk away, as well as spot Louise's corpse lying on the carpet. "Hey, Vic," Lance told his older brother as he slowly got onto his feet. "I know you care for her man, but, she wasn't right for you."
Vic just ignored him and continued walking towards the door with his head hanging sadly to the floor. "Vic, hey Vic... " Lance told him. "You still got me, bro. Family is what matters."
But Vic had already exited the room, and he disappeared through the hallways. Meanwhile, Lance started to limp a bit as he slowly picked himself off the floor and staggered out of the room. "Oh damn," he moaned. "A'ight... A'ight... I'm gonna make it. I can make it. I know I can man..."
Lance slowly exited the room, leaving Louise's corpse lying in a puddle of blood on the carpet inside.
As Vic stepped outside and walked away slowly, he heard his pager beeping. He took it off his belt to read the message. It was from Diaz.
"One bastard Mendez down - one to go!" the message read. "I know just the way to smoke him out..."
Vic just sighed sadly. He had just lost his girlfriend and was almost on the verge of despair. He wasn't so sure if he should continue his mission to get back at the other Mendez brother and was too emotionally hurt to continue for now. So he decided to just walk away sadly down the road. His heart was broken.
