After a couple of long days of anxiously waiting, it was now time for the special day, the annual harvest festival hosted by the clover kingdom. Mimosa who had quickly come back from her respective mission, rushed straight into her room.
She unpacked and pulled a beautiful green-orange dress out of her closet. Knowing this was a special occasion, the flower mage knew she had to look her best. She wanted to make sure it was nearly impossible for Asta to take her eyes off her; everything had to be perfect.
She even took extra precautions by adding eyeliner, glossing her cheeks, Mimosa looked like a completely different person at that this point.
Alright, Mimosa, today's the day," looking firmly at her mirror," today's the day, you're finally gonna confess to him. I know you really like Asta, but I know Asta really likes to you too. As he said, he's so happy that you're at the Golden Dawn with him. YOU GOT THIS GIRL!"
After a couple of seconds, her mirror began to waver as her beautiful reflection transformed into her beloved swordsman.
"As-Asta..."
She began to lean forward, edging closer and closer, moulding her lips and commenced kissing to what seemed like Anti-magic user on the other side.
"I love you, so much Asta, please marry me."
*Knock* *Knock* *Knock* *Knock*
The flower mage jumped at the sound, as she was swept away from her embarrassing trance.
"Oh ah, ah coming in". The doors open
"Hey, Mimosa, it's me. Ready for the harvest festival?" said Asta popping his head out the door.
"I'll be with you in a sec Asta, just let me finish brushing my hair."
"No worries," he replied, "I'll be outside your room waiting."
The flower mage made some finishing touches on her look before rushing out of her room and greeting the Anti-Magic user. She gave him a huge hug and wrapped her delicate arms around his biceps; savouring the moment.
"I'm so happy you could make it today Asta. It means a lot."
"It's no biggy Mimosa, I'm down for anything when it's with you."
The flower mage blushed at the reply "So how do I look today" flicking her hair back.
"You look awesome, never seen you doll yourself up like this. You look beautiful Mimosa" he smiled.
"Oh, thanks, Asta. You look handsome today as well."
"You really think so," replied Asta scratching the back of his head "I couldn't find anything to wear, so I just wore my uniform. Sorry I probably should've worn something better for the occasion."
"No, no, no! You're fine just the way you are. You look amazing."
The swordsman smiled in relief. "Asta I also wanted to show you something" pulling out two cards from her pocket.
"Whats that Mimosa?"
"Oh, there reservations, for a fancy restaurant in the clover kingdom. When we're finished with the harvest festival, I-I was thinking, to finish the day off we could you know, go to this place."
The flower-mage was struck by a cloud of anxiety, Just mentioning the restaurant sent shivers down her spine. It would be the location where she would finally confess to her beloved, swordsman. "So what do you say, are you down?"
"That's awesome, of course, I'm down for that! You really planned everything today, didn't you Mimosa."
"Oh, ah wh-what do you mean by that," covering the right side of her blooming cheeks. "I-I just want everything to go smoothly that's all."
"Yeah, it sure is! Let's go!"
Without a moment's hesitation, the swordsman gripped the soft wrist of the flower mage as they began running through the corridor.
Asta with an enormous grin on his face was excited about today's activities; all the singing, dancing, games and endless baskets of fruit, it was a sight to behold.
Mimosa, however, was unfortunately caught in the moment. Having her arm pulled away by the Anti-magic user was something she didn't anticipate.
"Wow, Asta is gripping me so tight, I wish he could pull me like this all the time... GET TO GRIPS MIMOSA, FOCUS ON THE JOB IN HAND, ITS NOW OR NEVER!"
Before the pair could continue to gallop forward, Asta suddenly stopped himself in his tracks.
"Huh, wh-what's wrong Asta? Why did you stop?" asked Mimosa.
Before the flower-mage knew it, a tall figure immerged out of the corridor, he was wearing glasses and had sharp sky blue hair, it was non-other than Klaus here to make his appearance. "Oh, it's you."
"Afternoon Klaus, nice seeing you here" replied Mimosa.
"The pleasure is all mine... Just where are you going, and why do you look like that?"
"Oh this," said Mimosa flicking her hair back "Me and Asta are just going to the harvest festival."
"The harvest festival? Shouldn't you be on patrol?"
"Oh, ah, no. That's already being taken care of by the other magic knights. I won't be needed on duty for today."
"I see," said Klaus adjusting his glasses "Well if that's the case, then I should be on my way."
As quietly as he could steal mage left pair and continued on with the rest of his day. He took note of Mimosa, but he didn't acknowledge Asta, not even once.
The swordsman recognised this, which sparked an annoyed look on his face. He was ready to forgive and forget about this whole situation; hence why he stopped. As Letollie stated, to always resolve a conflict between squadmates, Asta wanted that. However, it was clear to him Klaus thought otherwise.
"Hm? Is there something wrong, Asta?"
"What? Oh, n-no nothings wrong Mimosa I'm fine."
"Are you sure, you looked pretty down when Klaus left. Did something happen between you guys?"
"I told you Mimosa, nothing happened. Really, I'm fine."
"Please tell me what's wrong Asta?"
The flower-mage wrapped her elbow around the swordsman as she leaned ever so firmly. The cute and adorable face from Mimosa, how could Asta not tell her whats going on.
*sigh* "Well to tell you the truth, me and Klaus had a little bit of a falling out. It was on a recent mission, then we had this argument, it's a long story."
"Oh I see, did you talk to him about it?"
"No, not yet, I hope we can fix it soon though."
The flower mage continued to have her arms wrapped. Despite her mind, set on today's goal, Asta's health and well being was her top priority. Regardless of the situation, offering comfort and support was invaluable.
"It's ok, Asta. I know what it's like to not get on with someone," picturing her older brother "But stuff like this happens all the time. Just watch, Klaus will forget about this in no time."
"You really think so?"
"I know so, Asta" she replied.
The pair locked eyes, before embracing in each other in one's arms. Asta who had a gloomy look about himself felt a lot happier, the sparkle was back in his eyes, as optimism and hope came rushing back. There was no need to feel down at this moment, as his old friend Harry said time will always heal wounds. He knew hed be speaking to Klaus one time or another.
"You're right Mimosa, I shouldn't beat myself up about it. Thanks for that."
"I know Klaus better than anyone, he's always a grumpy-pants." she laughed "But saying that, he's actually glad that you joined at the Golden Dawn. I don't know if you knew about it yet, but he talks about how great you are all the time. So don't stress if he's not speaking to you right now silly."
The swordsman grinned while scratching the back of his head.
"Now let's go and enjoy the harvest festival!"
Mimosa, grabbed Asta's hand, as they made their way out of the Golden Dawns hideout. The flower mage pulled out her broom as she began to slowly levitate on the stop.
"Come on Asta, hop-on."
"Are you sure? U know I can fly there right?" he replied
"What, no, um... it was my idea to bring you out here, so I should at least take you there as well."
"Hmm, alright then, I guess."
The Anti-magic user hopped on to the broom as he proceeded to grab the flower mages waist.
"Ready when you are Mimosa," said Asta.
The pair began to levitate even higher and before they knew they were flying through the sky, making their way to the harvest festival.
Mimosa who had had her sights locked on to the capital could barely compose herself, having her waist gripped tightly by the man she loved was rattling.
"Were nearly there Mimosa, I see the capital" yelled Asta.
"I see it as well, hang on tight."
After a couple of minutes, the pair had swiftly landed in their destination. However, upon their arrival, they had a stunned look on their face; the dozens of people who showed up at the festival was surprising. The stalls were heavily crowded, and there was simply not enough room to go around.
Mimosa looked on in grief, "we should've come here a lot earlier" she asked herself.
"Come on Mimosa, we're not gonna get anything done if we just stand around like this, let's go," grabbing the flower mages hand.
The swordsman had an optimistic look about him, as he led his way through the festival. Mimosa who anxious at first couldn't stop blushing; having her handheld so firmly by Asta, it almost felt like they were a real couple.
"Excuse me, young ones may I interest you in something."
The Golden Dawns turned their attention as they were approached by a festivals salesman. He was about 6 feet tall with a rugged robe, holding a plate of sweet apples, "Care to try our finest treats at the festival."
"Sure, what you got," asked Asta.
The salesman leaned forward as he held his plate in front of the magic knight's. The plate carried candy apples covered in a sugar, candy coating, with a stick inserted as a handle. Just a glare made the swordsman mouth water instant.
"WOW, THAT LOOKS AMAZING! Mimosa you want one?"
"I'll pass, don't really have a sweet tooth in all honesty," she replied
"I'll take two, please," said Asta as he grabbed the candy apples.
"That will 4 yul" replied the salesman.
The swordman placed the yul on to the plate, as he took a bite at one of the delicious and sweet candy apples. "Come on Mimosa try one, their really good," placing the candy apples against her lip.
The flower-mage was reluctant to take a nibble but eventually gave in, she took a small bite and continued to chew. "Wow, this is actually really good."
"You like it? I am glad."
The magic knights waved their goodbyes to the salesman as they proceeded to enjoy their day at the festival. The pair took advantage of many of the festive activities, they went to many stalls, played games and ate a ton of fruit. It was an enjoyable experience for both magic knights; it was always nice to kick back and relax, as opposed to defending the kingdom from evil forces.
"So what do you want to do now Mimosa?"
"I don't know, we pretty much did most things at the festival. Why don't we just sit down for a while," eyes locking on to a nearby bench.
"Sure I guess we can sit down, I'm a little tired myself."
The duo rested themselves on the bench, sitting close to one another. Asta who had a cheerful look about him soaked in the joyous atmosphere of the festival; seeing people with smiles on their faces, having a great time brought a warm feeling.
In contrast, Mimosa took note of a young couple sitting by on a nearby bench. The pair looked as happy as can be, and from the looks of it, the female partner had a ring on her finger. The pair hugged each other, she gave her partner a gentle kiss before leaning on his shoulder. The actions made the flower-mage blush with envy.
"Everything ok Mimosa?"
"OH YEAH, IM OK! Everything is fine!" waving her palms side by side "Don't worry about me, just enjoying the festival."
Mimosa's held a rather forced smile, as her forehead started to sweat; she didn't want to lose herself at any moment.
"Hmmm ok then."
As oblivious as was, the swordsman had no idea what was going through his teammates head. However, he was glad she was enjoying herself. "That's good to hear, I'm glad you're digging the festival like I am Mimosa. I know I say this all the time, but it's nice to get to spend some time with you."
"It's-its always a pleasure to spend time, with you as well Asta," she blushed.
"Out of all the girls that I know, your the only one that truly gets me. We never argue or have a problem with each other. I feel like we have gotten a lot closer since I joined the Golden Dawn."
The response shook the flower mage "Oh re-really? Yo-you think we have gotten closer."
"Yeah if I had to spend the rest of life with someone, I would mind if it was you."
Asta no clue what he had just said.
"Sa-same here, if I had to spend the rest of my life with someone. It would be you as well," said Mimosa joyous smile. "Say... since you said were close, mind if I lay my head against your shoulder?"
"What have you got have got a headache?"
"Stop being sarcastic with me" Mimosa pouted.
"Haha, I'm only joking. Go ahead" replied Asta
The flower-mage didn't hesitate for a second as she closed her eyes and began resting her head against the muscular swordsman. Mimosa felt as at ease at this moment, so much so she nearly fell asleep; being close and touching Asta was everything she wanted.
"I wish we could stay like this forever," said the flower mage.
"What like sitting on this bench?"
"No silly, I mean..." *sigh* "I mean if you could stay like we are now, me lying on your shoulder, enjoying each others company," wrapping her arms against the swordsman's abs.
"Wh-what, are you doing Mimosa?"
"Relax Asta its only me," said Mimosa rubbing her cheeks against the face of the Anti-Magic user "Like you said before were close arent we?"
"Yeah... but"
Before Asta could say another word Mimosa swiftly placed her finger on top of his lips "I said relax" firm look on her face.
"Ok..."
"Thank you," she smiled.
Despite the confident look about her, it was only to mask had the serge anxiety rushing through her head. Mimosa had never been so assertive in her life, especially with Asta.
"Let's just stay like this for a little longer," declared Mimosa.
Asta replied with a couple of nods, he had no idea what to think of this situation. He remained tight-lipped and curled up closely with his fellow Golden Dawn.
A couple of minutes had passed, and the pair continued to sit down, on the bench. Mimosa was the happier of the two, in contrast, the swordsman was slightly weirded out.
"Hey Asta look at the sky!"
The Anti-magic user lifted his head and what he perceived was an array of beautiful and dazzling fireworks. Asta was engrossed by what he saw, so much so it was hard to take his eyes off it. The crowd would cheer after each explosion; it was a real sight to see.
Mimosa watched on as she to was amazed by such a stunning view. Nevertheless, it wasn't just the colourful explosions that caught her eye, but the fact she could enjoy this beautiful moment with the man she loved. Spending quality alone time, relishing the fireworks together, this was stuff she only dreams about, but it is now a reality.
"Their beautiful arent they Asta."
"They sure are. This is awesome."
"Know what else is awesome," looking fondly at the swordsman "The fact I that get to see it you" she smiled.
"Oh yeah... of course."
It was at that moment pair had locked eyes and began gazing fondly upon one another.
Mimosas held a lovely cute face that began to blush, whereas Asta carried a nervous smile. The Anti-magic user stood glaring at the flower-mage; he couldn't take his eyes off her, wavy orange hair, adorable face and marvellous figure. How could he not? For once in his life, Asta thought another girl was...
"Cute... wow Mimosa is looking really cute today."
Mimosa rested her left hand on Asta's cheek as she started to lean forward "Hey, Asta come here for a sec."
"Wh-what are you going to do?"
"Youll see" she replied.
The Golden Dawn closed her eyes while shaping her mouth, proceeding to give her beloved a tender kiss. Asta stood there, just watching as Mimosa drew her lips ever so closer.
"What's this feeling? I never felt like this before, what's going on?"
The swordsman was completely immobilised "Mimosa is trying to kiss me... right? WAIT I CAN'T DO THIS... Can I? Its only Mimosa, but what about... WAIT NO I CAN'T DO THIS!"
It was that moment Asta had come to his senses, he realised one of his reasons for living, and that was to marry Sister Lilly. Despite countless rejections, knowing the swordsman, he was never going give it up that easily... however, it was already too late.
"Dam it, its too late! How could I betray her like this!? Sister, please forgive me."
Edging closer, margins less than millimetres away, it was all but inevitable the pair would touch lips.
*Rumble* *Rumble* *Rumble* *Rumble*
*cough* *cough*
Fortunately for Asta, now was not the time. The flower-mage snatched away as she began her rubbing and gently massaging her stomach; lucky doesn't even begin to describe it. As it turned out, Mimosa ate a bit too much then she could carry.
"Mimosa are you ok!?"
"Ye-yeah I'm fine, just need to..." holding her mouth.
"Dam, it of all the times my stomach wants to give up on me. I was this close, to be getting my first proper kiss, with Asta."
"You don't look too well Mimosa, I think its time, we head back to the Golden Dawn."
"Wh-what are you talking about, I'm fine."
*Rumble* *Rumble* *Growl* *Growl*
"You're not fine, that's why your stomach is growling."
Seemed like the obvious idea at the time, but Mimosa refused "Be-believe me I'm fine, you just sit here, I'm just gonna go to the women's room, ill be back" she fled.
"Wait, where are you going?"
"I said I'm going to the women's room! You better be there when I get back," shouted Mimosa.
The swordsman sat down before releasing a sigh of frustration... or was it a sigh of relief. Having been inches away from making the ultimate betrayal, the swordsman was more relieved than ever.
"OH MY GOD! I CAN'T BELIEVE THAT NEARLY HAPPENED... I NEARLY KISSED ANOTHER WOMAN" said Asta holding the side of his head "I CAN'T LET THAT HAPPEN AGAIN, I WANT MY FIRST KISS TO BE WITH YOU SISTER" he prayed.
Holding a guilty face, a flurry of tears came washing out. A sense of sinful and condemning emotions was spiralling around his head.
However, those feelings were short-lived after a delightful scent caught the attention of the Anti-magic user. The smell was coming from non-other than Asta's favourite food, hot potatoes.
"Wow, those smell great!"
He galloped forward following the path that would lead him to his delicious treasures, dodging everyone in his way. This will help him forget he asked himself.
"Ouch!"
Though thinking too much about his potatoes, he lost focus and bumped into a nearby magic knight.
"Oh, I'm sorry," pleaded Asta.
"You idiot, watch where you're going, or else I'm gonna..."
Turning around with a raised fist in anger, the knight was stunned in silence.
Asta was also astonished at this moment, what he saw was silva hair and wavy locks, how he could meet her at a time like this.
"No-Noelle"
"Asta..."
