Part 26

Barry and Caitlin finally picked their wedding day. It would be the Saturday after Labor day. Caitlin was in a bridal shop with her friends, Nora and to her surprise her mother. They were there to pick not only her wedding dress but the dresses for her bridesmaids. Caitlin knew what she wanted for her dress. She already knew that she was not going to wear a vail but a tiara instead. The woman helping them at the shop pulled four dresses Caitlin's size in different styles that other woman with her body type liked. She and Barry had already talked. They decided on purple and white for their colors. Because purple was a combination of their favorite colors. Blue being hers and red his. The bridesmaids would wear royal purple dresses and the groomsmen and Barry would wear royal purple ties and cover buns. Caitlin changed into the first dress and came out. She could tell that everyone agreed with what she was thinking by the looks on their faces. This was not the dress.

"Honey, that high neckline is not a good look on you." Said Carla gently

"Yeah I agree mom. I just thought I would get everyone else's opinion." Said Caitlin

"Let's see the next one." Said Kara

Caitlin went into the changing room and changed dresses. This one had three quarter length sleeves with a square neckline and fitted at the waist. It fell to just about her ankles. She came out and could see that while this one was better then the first but still not the right one.

"Caitlin, some people can pull off that square neckline. But I don't think that you are the one of them." Said Iris

"Yeah I agree. Besides I don't think I will be able to sit in this. The waist is kind of stiff." Said Caitlin

Caitlin went to change into the third. It was sleeveless with thin straps on the shoulders with the top of the dress ending just over her breasts. She would need to wear a strapless bra with this one. But she knew as soon as she walked out that it was not right. She had less movement of her legs then she did in the pencil skirts she liked to wear to work.

"Caitlin, honey you do want to be able to walk comfortably in your wedding dress." Said Nora

"Yeah I knew this was the wrong one as soon as I tried to walk in it. I have one more. If that isn't right then we will need to look for some others."

"Go put it on and we can see if is right honey." Said Carla

Caitlin went back into the dressing room and put on the last dress. This one was fairly simple and strapless. (Think of the dress Caitlin wore to marry Ronnie at the end of season 1.) She walked out and could see the smiles on her friends faces. Nora and her mom were also smiling.

"Caitlin, do you like it?" asked Alex

"Yeah I think this is the right one." Said Caitlin

"I think it is perfect on you honey." Said Carla

"Your mom is right Caitlin you look great in that dress." Said Kara

"Yeah I really like it. It's just it is kind of expensive. I mean it is silk."

"Caitlin, don't worry about the price. Your father and I put money away for your wedding." Said Carla

"Mom, maybe you should look at the price before you commit to paying for it." Said Caitlin

"Honey, you do know that your father and I live well below our means. You do know all your schooling is paid for don't you?" said Carla

"Mom, I know I never asked. But how much money do you and dad have?" asked Caitlin

"Let's just say that Wayne Enterprises and Queen Consolidated aren't the only multimillion companies. Your father and I have a net worth well over seven million dollars. I think we can afford to give you any wedding you want." Said Carla

"Mom, thank you."

Caitlin wrapped her mom in a hug.

"I love you Caity, don't ever forget that." Said Carla

"I won't mom."

Caitlin turned to the clerk and smiled "I will take this one."

"You know I don't think that we will need to do any alterations. It is like this dress was made for you Ms. Snow." Said the Clerk

"Actually miss my daughter is a doctor. So that is Dr. Snow." Said Carla

"I am sorry. Dr. Snow." Said the clerk.

"Honest mistake." Said Caitlin

Caitlin went to change back into her regular clothes. Then she dragged her friends over to a rank of bridesmaid dresses. She let each of them pick a style they liked as long as they stuck to the royal purple that she and Barry agreed on. She was even considering letting them each have a style that they liked as long as it didn't out shine her dress. Which knowing them they wouldn't. After they each had their choice they went into dressing rooms to try them on. They tried on all three choices. With Caitlin making the final choice. She had to admit they each chose well. All three looked good on each of them. But her favorite was the one Iris pick. It was simple and something that could be worn again.

"I like all of them. But I think the one that Iris chose is the perfect one." Said Caitlin

"Really? I mean you and I have never liked the same style." Said Iris

"Really Iris. It is simple but elegant. Beside it not like one of those nightmarish bridesmaid dresses you hear stories about. This one if you choose to can be worn again to a party or something." Said Caitlin

"Just if we are all going to the same part let's make sure that we don't all wear it at the same time." Said Kara

Everyone smiled. Carla then paid for the dresses and they headed out to get lunch together.
