Dear diary week 31 July 11th through the 20th

July 11th dear diary we took the 2 hour flight to Louisiana this after noon when we got to the hotel. We decided to visit few places of interest including the french quarter which was so neat. We had a snack at cafe du Monde of fritters yum we did make sure they were safe for me which they were. We at dinner at superior seafood where the 2 little girls girls had fried shrimp and we all shared oysters on the half shell yum mom Elsie and I shared a bunch of appetizers including crayfish corn bread and crab stuffed mushrooms along with spinach and artichoke dip. While dad yes we now call him dad had a crayfish poboy everything was amazing and allergy friendly for me. When we were done we went to a jazz concert which was so cool I am glad we came back here as the last time I was here I was Emily's age . We headed back to the hotel and settled down as it was getting late. Going to go get ready for bed since its really really late talk to you tomorrow.

July 12th dear diary we flew to Vermont at 6 this morning arriving around 12 when we arrived moms friend Patrick was there to greet us. He took us to the bed and breakfast they had booked for the wedding. We arrived shortly before lunch so he took us to a local cafe where he is head chef he made me an allergy friendly fish and chips plate along with a safe brownie sundae yum yum yum. We then went and explored the area he lives in which was pretty cool he took us to meet his fiancee Joe yes diary Patrick is gay. This is not something mom had told us before hand as a wedding is a wedding. We were fine with it once we got used to the idea although I did take Emily and Clara aside as they were confused. They both didn't understand boys can like boys. I told them this was natural not all girls like boys and not all boys like girls. Mom is Patrick's best lady instead of best man which is cool he has asked Elsie and I to make the food and design the wedding cake with help from others at his cafe. We said yes the little girls are making bird seed bags and helping decorate with dad so we all have jobs to do. We talked till late and are now back at our bed and breakfast signing off tomorrows going to be super busy.

July 13th dear diary Elsie and I were out the door bright and early headed to Patrick's cafe to start wedding food prep. We started by washing up and making a quick breakfast with the team after we ate a pastry chef and I sat down to design the wedding cake. While we were doing this Elsie was mixing up her signature butter milk marinade for the chicken and fish. The cake will be 4 tiers high and alternate chocolate and peanut butter cakes. With the opposite filling so chocolate with Peanut butter or vice versa. We decided to decorate a white chocolate butter cream exterior with various colors and types of blue and yellow flowers. After making the marinade Elsie got the meats in to soak before turning her attention to a huge batch of herd spinach dip in bread bowls. I started the batter for my signature peanut butter cake while his pastry lady made the chocolate cake. Elsie then chopped onions and peppers for the vegetable soup starter they would heat the night of the wedding. While she did that I was mixing up cookies for the special dessert hour during the wedding.

We finished around 4 and met the others at Patrick's where we were having a special grooms shower we gave them the tote of items we had made. They loved it a lot and they got a ton of other cool items and Joe's sister gifted them her old tiny home. They will no longer have to live in an apartment which is very very exciting for them. We got back to our room shortly after 10 so I am signing off we are exhausted and have another full day tomorrow.

July 14th Elsie and I along with dad and the little 2 were out the door shortly after 6 this morning mom had left earlier to do some errands. Dad and the little 2 were going to decorate the church basement for the reception and cocktail hour. They will decorate the church on the day of the wedding. We spent another full day working on wedding foods and other wedding stuff. We are having an amazing time visiting up here in Vermont with moms friends and there families. We are going to be busy all day tomorrow so I I will not be able to write till the 16th since we need to finish wedding prep talk to you then have a great day.

July 16th dear diary today we celebrated Patrick and Joe's wedding it was an amazing day and we met lots and lots of very cool people. Including a lady who mom said was once on a TV special my whole family loves. Her name is Zosia Mamet and she was so nice she talked about being on sesame street which I find pretty cool. We all had an amazing day mom made an amazing best lady and everyone loved our food. When the cake came out people clapped and cheered as the grooms smooshed it in each others faces Clara thought that was hilarious. When the cake was finished we went and danced till we couldn't dance anymore then I took the 3 younger girls and we went back to the rooms we are renting till tomorrow. Talk to you tomorrow as we need sleep.

July 17th dear diary we spent today on the plane to California we picked up the car at the airport. And headed to my dads old house and met the gang to bring his stuff to our house it took most of today. Mom took us all out for dinner at the diner to say thanks for all your help to the gang. When we got home we started organizing and unpacking dads stuff with his instructions on where things go. After a while he went and brought home strawberry and chocolate shakes from the triple cream stand. We also had sandwiches for a late supper before settling in for a movie marathon I will talk to you tomorrow diary as its family time.

July 18th dear diary we spent the day helping dad settle in and get things set up in the office he and mom share. When that was done he and Elsie went grocery shopping and to run a few errands while I babysat the little girls. When they got home he showed us how to make hand maid ravioli yum he made the dough and everything. We had it ready for mom when she got home boy was she happy. After dinner we spent time in the yard and doing some family yoga which was fun we then ran and grabbed mom a bouquet of roses as dear diary I am going to scream sorry but HER SHOP HAS BEEN CHOSEN AS THE SHOP TO BECOME A CHAIN OF STORES. YES GRANDMAS FABRIC AND NOTIONS IS BECOMING A CHAIN. THE FIRST WILL OPEN IN DOWN TOWN DISNEYLAND IN SEPTEMBER. WE ARE SO VERY VERY VERY EXCITED AND PROUD OF HER AND THE SHOP. After getting the flowers we went for ice cream before walking home mom wants me to sign off and help put Emily to bed shes wound up tighter the a top as grandma used to say.

July 19th dear diary the dads took the whole gang on a trip to the lake for the day we first stopped and grabbed bait and things from the lake store which was neat place. We then went and every one but me swam I am not a fan of lakes as you cant see the bottom. When they were done swimming we took out dads friends huge boat and fished from it which was a lot of fun. We caught tons of fish which we brought home with us and dad showed me how to clean and scale fish which is a very good skill to have he says. We then set everything up to fry the fish in cornbread batter. When mom got home he fried the fish and hush puppies while I brought out a quick pickled vegetable salad and sweet tea along with Elsie's strawberry cupcakes with white chocolate buttercream.

Just When we finished dessert Marie suddenly arrived in a panic she needed mom and I aunt Helen had fallen down there basement steps and injured her knee badly . They needed some one to take them to the emergency room who could speak English. Mom and I took Marie with us back to the house while dad And Elsie Dropped the little 2 at Zack's before meeting us there when they arrived Mom and dad checked out her knee it was very very swollen so mom called Dr Lucy who said she would have her ortho friend meet us in the emergency room.

We then had to figure out how to get her to the car I had an idea I went to the desk and grabbed the desk chair. Mom then helped her in to the chair which dad pushed to the car. When we arrived the doctor was waiting in a room for us. He Had X-rays and a cat scan done and determined she had a displaced comminuted fracture of her knee cap. She will need surgery tomorrow morning to repair the damage. When we got her settled mom had dad take us girls home and she stayed to act as a translator for aunt Helen. We stopped and grabbed the younger 2 from Zack's before going home I am signing off the excitement wore me out.

July 20th dear diary Dad dropped us of at the hospital early this morning on his way to work. He took the Younger 2 to Sam's on his way to work we went in and sat with mom in the waiting room the surgery was going to take 4 hours. We all sat and read and waited when surgery was over the doctor came out and said the break was worse then he had thought but he had been able to repair it. We went and saw her she was still groggy so we decided to run and grab her a balloon and a teddy bear. When we arrived back in her room she was more awake and she told mom in french she was ok. She will be on crutches and in a wheel chair along with a long leg brace for some time so they will have Grandma come down and help them out. She can go home in 2 days. I am signing off so I can help dad fix the porch door thats being dumb talk to you tomorrow.
