Guerrilla Warfare
Hello. This was suggested by a guest. It's Guthrie- guerrilla warfare- during. Enjoy.
Guthrie was playing with his friends at the playground at school.
"Hey, Guthrie, how much do you know about guerrilla warfare?" David asked.
"Not much. I think my big brother Evan is learning about it." Guthrie answered. "Why?"
"My dad let me get a couple of books at the library about guerrilla warfare. It's pretty neat."
"What have you learned about it so far?"
"Well, it started a long time ago. Right now, I'm reading about the guerrillas in Ireland. It's pretty cool."
That night, Guthrie decided to bring it up at dinner.
"Evan, are you learning about guerrilla warfare?" Guthrie wondered.
"Yeah, why?" Evan answered.
"David was telling me about it. He has a library book about it. He says it's pretty cool."
"It's interesting how a small group could overthrow armies 10 times their size."
"But it's scary too. To think they have that much determination to do so." Adam replied. "Some of those groups did a lot of good, but then some were not so good. If it wasn't for guerrilla warfare tactics, we would still be ruled by England. Some on the other hand caused people to live in fear when they didn't need to."
"Like when?" Guthrie wondered.
"The American Civil war. Some groups caused small wars of their own. Wars that didn't need to be started." Brian explained.
"Right now, Northern Ireland is dealing with groups that use guerrilla warfare tactics. There's a lot of fear over there." Adam sighed.
"If you really want to know more about guerrilla warfare, you should read about it and make up your own mind about it."
"Just know that it can be overwhelming. When I had to learn about it, I barely passed. There's a lot of information."
Guthrie nodded and the next day, he went to the library and found books about guerrilla warfare. He started to notice somethings about every group that used guerilla warfare tactics. He noticed that almost all of them were fighting for their freedom and their way of life whether it was good or bad.
When Guthrie went to school, the next day, he saw David.
"Hey, I talked to my brothers and they told me to go research it myself. I learned a lot." Guthrie said.
"Yeah, like what?" David asked.
"Most of these groups were fighting for their freedom and their way of life. Some were just fighting for control. Some were good and some were bad. Some brought peace while some made life worse. It's all about how you look at it."
"I guess that's one way of looking at it. Doesn't it make you wish you were part of a group?"
"No. Their tactics may work, but it's still violent."
"YOu always were a wimp."
I'd have to say that out of all the prompts that have been suggested, this one was one of the hardest to write. I did some research but it still went clear over my head. I did the best that I could and I hope you like it. I am still looking for one or two prompts for letters S through Z.
