Vic and Diaz had spent hours testing the Hunter to make sure it was in good use before Vic went on to his final mission. Vic later looked at his watch to see that the time now was 12:00 midnight. He had gotten the Hunter on the helipad on the rooftop, and its propeller was whirling and ready for takeoff. Vic and Diaz both watched it.

"Mendez is Downtown!" Diaz told Vic vociferously. "His place is like a fortress, but this baby. She'll tear the whole building down!"

"Great!" Vic replied loudly. "When I'm done - we're done. Lance and I will owe you nothing!"

"When you're done, I'm gonna own this town!" Diaz yelled as he watched Vic hop inside the Hunter. "It's the American dream...and it's all because of you Vic. You're a hero..."

"No, I'm an asshole!" Vic told him. "I spent all my time running around, making morons rich while my family fell apart, and the woman I loved and wanted died waiting for me to call!"

"Woman?" Diaz asked. "You need some porn? I just got in some crazy donkey porn. You'll love it. I'll be finished with it by the time you get back!"

"I'm not coming back Diaz," Vic told him, "and I'm not doing this for you, I'm doing it for me!"

"Woohoo!" Diaz cheered. "Whatever you say tough guy. I'll see you around!"

Diaz chuckled as he headed for the inside of the passage way on the helipad.

Vic shut the overhead windshield of the Hunter down over him and started descending it in the air. He turned on the lights to get a good view through the night as he flew to the direction leading to Downtown.

There were very few cars driving on the roads down below, and the palm trees still remained stiff and stagnant. Vic flew up above the ocean and made his way over the long road of the island down below. He flew higher in the sky and made sure he was high enough the avoid crashing into the building around the city.

Finally, Vic came across the tallest building of Downtown: the Mendez Cartel. It was a tall dark skyscraper which was probably used to keep all the smuggled drugs inside. Vic was determined to take out Diego inside that building as well.

"YEAH!" Vic shouted upon his arrival.

Vic saw that there were plenty of the Mendez goons who were armed with AK-47s on the top floor firing back at the hovering Hunter. Vic wasted no time as he fired missiles with the Hunter towards the building, killing one wave of the Mendez goons.

"Eat this!" Vic shouted. "I'm coming for you, Mendez!"

He turned the Hunter counter-clockwise around the building and fired more missiles to it, killing a second wave of the Mendez goons. He looked around and saw that Diego was nowhere in sight in the building.

"Come on, Mendez, where are you?!" Vic bellowed as he fired more missiles at the building. "What you got to say about that, you mute motherfucker?"

Vic continued flying the Hunter around the building and firing missiles into the Mendez goons, as well as destroying part of the building. After a minute and thirty, however, one of the goons was armed with a rocket launcher and fired at the Hunter with a missile. A direct hit!

"Oh, shit!" Vic cried out as the Hunter caught on fire after the missile's impact against it.

He quickly flew over to the rooftop and hopped out about ten feet below the rooftop's surface just in time to avoid the subsequent explosion. Vic continued his mission and made it to the stairwell up ahead.

On his search for Diego, Vic encountered multiple guards who fired at him and quickly dodged the bullets. He used the walls and plants as cover and returned the fire at the guards, killing them one by one.

Vic made his way to the lower floor and encountered the guards there as well. While dodging every bullet that was being fired at his direction, Vic returned the fire around the room and gunned down each and every last guard around the room.

Vic then took a glimpse at Diego Mendez standing by the doorway along with a few of his guards and looked back to get a glance at Vic.

"Correnle!" Diego called as he and several other guards ran to head back upstairs.

Vic followed them along and took the stairs back on the top floor. As he made his way there, he encountered yet another wave of guards that were firing bullets at Vic, who dodged them just in time and returned fire by gunning them all down.

With the guards dead, it was now Vic and Diego Mendez face-to-face. "I got you now, Diego," Vic told the Bolivian gangster.

"¡Ah, Victor Vance!" Diego growled under his breath. "Lástima lo de tu chica, hijo de puta. De lo contrario, los dos permanecerían juntos para siempre en un estado diferente. ¡Deberías haberte quedado fuera de Vice cuando tuviste la oportunidad, puto!"

Vic didn't understand much of what Diego was saying, but somehow, he knew exactly what he was telling him. So his response was, "I'm a soldier, asshole! I ain't scared of you!"

"Me cago en tu madre!" Diego replied. "Vete a la mierda!"

"Oh now you've done it, asshole!" Vic shouted angrily. "It's just you and me! Now put up your heater and we're gonna finish this once and for all!"

"¡Adelante perra!" Diego bellowed.

So the two engaged in a gun battle in the room of the Mendez Cartel building. Each of them exchanged gunfire and dodged each other's bullets. It was an epic showdown between the two, and the battle was getting even more intense. After a good two minutes of firing, Vic finally gave Diego a nice shot through his glasses and into his left eye. Diego growled in pain.

Vic took a closer step and aimed his weapon at Diego, firing multiple bullets in the would-be drug lord's chest. Diego lost his balance, fell backwards, and dropped down hard through the window and onto the street down below. Vic stared down from the edge of the window.

"That's for Louise, asshole!" he shouted from up above.

Vic had finally eliminated Diego Mendez, thus ending the rise of the Mendez Cartel. Vic didn't have time to celebrate though. He heard footsteps coming up to the top floor. Vic turned around to find Phil, Sergeant Peppah, and the other soldiers enter the building.

"Vic!" Phil called out to them. "You Okay?"

"Yeah...I think," Vic replied.

"Good," Phil said. "Because we've been taking out those Mendez goons and Martinez's men down below."

"Martinez's men?" Vic asked.

"Yes," Sergeant Peppah added. "Needless to say, the man wasn't pleased to be discharged as sergeant. So he's sending his men to attack us in here and arriving via chopper to finish things off. So we have to prepare ourselves. Get in position, solders!"

"Sir, yes, sir!" the soldiers shouted.

They all dispersed around the room just in time for Martinez's soldiers to arrive. They all fired bullets at the soldiers, who quickly took cover as they fired back at them. The bullets were all flying around multiple directions, and everyone were ducking and firing at the same time. Vic felt the adrenaline pumping inside him. He then let out a war cry that prolonged for about twenty seconds as each and every one of Martinez's soldiers were being gunned down by the bullets fired by Vic and the other soldiers on his side.

After about fifty minutes of the shootout, Vic and the other soldiers on his side looked around to see the numerous corpse lying around the floor of the top floor room. The room was suddenly silent, and everyone looked around.

The silence was then broke by a whirling sound that was distant at first, but then slowly got closer. "Hear that?" Sergeant Peppah asked. "That sounds like a chopper."

And he was right! They looked out the window to find a dark Maverick flying above the building, and oh yes! Martinez was in it as well! Vic watched as the Maverick disappeared on the rooftop out view.

"Looks like Vic's partying without me!" Martinez told the pilot and passenger as they dropped him off on the rooftop outside. "Sweep the building. Flush that turd up to the roof so I can finish this!"

So as Martinez was now off of the helicopter, the vehicle hovered over to face the window of the top floor.

"Take cover!" Sergeant Peppah ordered vociferously as he and the other soldiers dodged the firing bullets by Martinez's men on the hovering helicopter outside.

Vic fired back at the helicopter, only for the vehicle to fly above and out of his sight. As the helicopter hovered back in view, Vic and the other soldiers all fired at the Maverick, riddling it with multiple bullets until it finally caught on fire and exploded out of the sky, killing the men inside.

Vic and the other soldiers cheered in victory. "Way to go, Vance!" Sergeant Peppah congratulated. "You handled that like a true soldier, just like everyone else here!"

"Thanks, Sergeant!" Vic replied.

"So now that we wiped out every last member of the Mendez goons and Martinez's soldiers, what's left to do now?" Phil asked.

"I'm going on that rooftop to face Martinez!" Vic answered. "He's the one who almost cost me my career and set everyone up just to build his own drug empire on the island! And now that he's discharged from the army, he don't seem like he's going down without a fight! So a fight he wants, a fight he gets!"

"Way to go, Corporal!" Sergeant Peppah told Vic. "Good luck up there, Vance!"

"Make sure that Latino motherfucker bleeds in every part of his body, Vic!" Phil added menacingly.

"Don't worry!" Vic replied. "He will! And whether I win this battle or not, this will be the last time you'll see me for now."

So the other soldiers cheered and watched as Vic made his way up to the rooftop. This was his moment! He finally was going to face the former sergeant himself!

Vic finally made it up onto the rooftop in search of Martinez.

"Ten-hut!" Vic heard Martinez call from behind.

Martinez was now armed with an AK-47 and was aiming it at Vic. The former then let out a lighthearted chuckle. Vic, not one in the mood of humor, didn't even bother looking back.

"Vic!" Martinez started to say. "I swear to God, I thought you were gonna salute me... Toss the gun!"

"Fuck you," Vic responded tersely.

"Vic, still so uptight" Martinez replied. "You know what your problem is? You're trying to be a good guy in a bad man's game! I thought you had potential. Turns out you're just another chump...like Mendez."

Vic just sighed deeply. He wasn't in the mood for any more jokes at this point. Martinez was the cause of everything that went wrong for him following his arrival to Vice City. So it was time for him to end it once and for all.

So Vic and Martinez engaged in a gun battle on the rooftop. Vic used the pillars of the stairwells as cover during the shootout. Both Vic and Martinez were exchanging fire at each other, and Vic was determined to bring the former sergeant down a few pegs. It was a life-and-death situation for the two of them, and after they spent almost three full minutes firing at each other, Vic finally riddled Martinez with multiple bullets into the chest.

The latter was now staggering around and took a few steps backwards closer to the rooftop's edge. Martinez struggled to keep his balance as he was trying to hold his standing position in place. Vic, however, wanted to end this right away and casually walked up to the injured, staggering, former sergeant. He stared at Martinez for a few seconds and used the tip of his gun's barrel to gently shove Martinez backwards. Martinez then lost his balance and fell off of the roof rapidly, landing with a loud, yet distant splat onto the asphalt 500 feet down below. It didn't take a rocket scientist to figure out that Martinez was now killed and out of Vic's life for good.

"Thanks for everything Martinez!" Vic shouted at Martinez's distant corpse down below. "You were a great help!"

Vic then spat over the edge of the building and turned around to find a familiar black-and-yellow Maverick land onto the rooftop. Vic saw Lance jump out armed with a pistol, ready to battle, even though the battle had already ended.

"Okay brother, let's waste these punks!" Lance shouted pointing the gun around, oblivious to the fact that the battle had just ended.

"Lance, it's done!" Vic told him.

"Play time is over, bitches!" Lance continued, still oblivious to the battle's end. "Lance Vance is about to get brutal on you, and when Lance Vance gets brutal on a lady, somebody starts to cry!"

"Lance, Lance!" Vic shouted. "Will you shut up. It's over!"

"What?!" Lance asked looking around dumbfounded. "Oh...well, we did it, baby! You and me!"

"Yeah, Yeah, Yeah!" Vic added as he and his brother hugged each other. "Hey, hey, hey listen. Now that things are straight with Diaz, we should get out of town or lay low for a while, you know?!"

"But what about your career?!" Lance asked.

"That can wait!" Vic told him. "Right now, we have to get all the money we made to send to Pete! We got it all, and now we can afford to send Pete some medication that will last him for a good five years and still be able to have some left over for the rest of the family!"

"Yeah, you're right man!" Lance replied.

"I'm gonna send some money to Pete!" Vic continued to say.

"Cool, but bro!" Lance protested. "I don't want you thinking it's all about you... that it's all about you!"

"Hey, hey, hey. I don't, I don't!" Vic replied. "It's all about you, me, Pete and mom, wherever the hell she is... "

"But wait!" Lance said cutting Vic off. "I've been making moves! I got hold of 20 keys man!"

"Are you crazy?!" Vic shouted angrily as he shifted rapidly away from Lance. "Get rid of it!"

"No!" Lance replied. "All we gotta do is sit on it, It's hidden out of sight! Out of town man! We lay low and then we sell it!"

"No! No, No, I am not interested!" Vic yelled furiously. "I want you to know, Lance, that we've been through enough trouble for now! After this, I never even want to touch drugs ever again! Got it?!"

"OK, man!" Lance agreed. "Whatever you say!"

"That's right!" Vic said.

"Come on, let's pop!" Lance ordered as he guided Vic to the Maverick.

The two hopped inside the Maverick, and Lance took control of the vehicle as it slowly descending from the surface. As Lance continued flying the Maverick above the city, Vic used his walkie talkie to speak to Sergeant Peppah.

"Hello, Sergeant," Vic answered.

"Vance!" Sergeant Peppah said over the walkie talkie. "How'd it go up there?"

"It went great," Vic answered. "I finished the battle with ease. Listen, I wanted to let you know that I'm going to be flying out of town right now. I'm in my brother's helicopter on my way back to my hometown."

"You mean you don't want to continue your career?" Sergeant Peppah asked.

"I do," Vic replied. "I just need to lay low for some time and pay my brother's medical bills. Family responsibilities."

"I feel you, Vance," Sergeant Peppah said. "I like the responsibility in you. Just remember that we all love having you as a soldier. So you can go back to wherever you came from to help your brother out, but you're welcome to come back here whenever you can."

"Thanks, Sergeant," Vic replied. "I'll definitely get in touch with you soon."

"Of course, Vance," Sergeant Peppah responded. "See you some other time, Corporal."

"Peace," Vic replied, and he stored his walkie talkie aside.

It has been a crazy month for Vic. Everything that seemed to work out for Vic at the start only dropped the next minute. He was wrongfully discharged from the army, he lost two of his jobs, he got in a pickle with a couple of Bolivian drug lords, he took on a number of gangs to defend his empire buildings, and he lost the woman he loved deeply. But in spite of all that, Vic was relieved to get everything he needed to afford Pete's medical bills. He figured that he and Lance had to leave Vice City to lay low and vowed never to return to crime life again, especially the drug trade. Vic watched through the window to see that Vice City was slowly disappearing out of sight as Lance continued flying the helicopter far away from Florida. It was now the end of Vic's crime life, and the wars were all over.
