Day 44: Birth
The Healer smiled as she gently cleaned the tiny baby, "It's a girl."
Arthur Weasley's head snapped up in shock. Molly, lying on the bed, was staring at the Healer too.
"It's- it's what?" Arthur stammered.
The healer looked between the two in confusion, "A girl. Your baby is a girl."
From the uncomprehending looks she was getting from the couple, the Healer would have thought she was speaking a foreign language.
"That's impossible," Arthur said, "My family doesn't have girls. There hasn't been a Weasley girl in several generations."
The Healer chuckled, "Well, that may be, but there certainly is one now. Would you like to see for yourself?"
Arthur released his wife's hand and walked over. He stared down at the baby for a moment then turned to his wife, and said in a voice that was faint with shock, "Blimey, it really is a girl."
The Healer chuckled. Never before had she seen a reaction quite like this. She gently lifted the baby and wrapped her in a blanket. "Why don't you take your daughter over to Molly so she can hold her?" she encouraged.
Arthur picked up the baby and carried her over to place her gently in his wife's arms.
Molly blinked down at her, her eyes moist, "We really have a baby girl, Arthur?"
Arthur leaned down to kiss his wife's cheek, smiling softly, "We really have a baby girl."
Hope you enjoyed! If you did, let me know in a review.
