Chapter 34
It was near the end of November.
A new tournament was starting, and the sumos were all getting ready. "I've trained non stop this whole month! I sure hope that kid realizes he's in for a world of hurt now!"
The top of the league in the sumo federation were all bragging about their month long session in hardcore training, just to stand up to Tempest, the up and coming kid with no rank. "He's got another thing coming doesn't he? I can't wait to get… in…" suddenly, his voice trailed off.
Every head turned and then, they all had to look up. "No… no it's not fair!" one said bitterly.
Tempest walked into the locker room, yet stood taller than before, when his robe came off. He was bigger than before too! "Hi," he said gently as he hung his robe up and adjusted his belt.
"THIS ISN'T FAIR! HOW DID YOU GROW THAT MUCH IN A MONTH!"
Tempest paused as he looked to the others who appeared rather devastated to the news that he grew bigger and taller in a matter of 30 days. He shied away for a moment. "Uh… I wasn't exactly done growing yet… I don't think I am either…" he said and laughed. "This was just as much as surprise for me as it was for you… my sister had to make me a new belt. I made the mistake of bending over in my last one, it snapped right off!"
"You're a cheat! You have to be a cheat! You cannot have gotten this big… I demand you take a drug test!"
"Okay," he said
They froze to the news. "You think it's that easy boy? A drug test will make sure you have not taken any performance enhancements!"
"I am aware," he said gently again. "I will be more than happy to take one."
They couldn't believe it, nor could they accept the fact that Tempest has become a far greater obstacle to overcome now than ever before.
The chairman was next to enter, he called for the sumos to hear him, yet froze as his sights came upon Tempest. Even he was startled to the sudden growth of his star attraction. "Tempest… I will need you to submit to a drug test…" he said gently.
"Of course!" Tempest replied in his usual upbeat self. "I would be more than happy to… where do I need to go to do it?"
It startled many in the locker room, after all, if someone suddenly got bigger and stronger in a matter of a month, they would know they are taking something to do so. However, there was no fear of consequence on the face of the young man. He was more than willing to do what needs to be done to prove he wasn't cheating. The chairman merely nodded as he led him out of the locker room, down the hall to the medical station.
Even the team there was stunned.
They gave him a cup and explained they needed a sample from him. He nodded and excused himself to use the bathroom.
"Actually… it has to be done before the doctor…" the chairman called.
"Okay," he said and excused himself to the bathroom with the doctor on hand.

"What the hell is taking so long?"
"I know what you mean dad. This show should have started what? Twenty minutes ago?"
Garou was impatient as always. He finally got to the arena on time to see Tempest's matches. But now the whole thing was delayed. "I wonder if something is wrong…" muttered Pac.
"I doubt it… unless they think he's cheating. I mean… your brother had a HUGE growth spurt." Garou said and smirked. "Yeah, that's probably it…"
The lights dimmed. The chairman came out and apologized for the delay. "Without farther ado! Let's get this contest started!"
It would be a while until Tempest's turn came. After all, they know to draw out the best matches and ensure the people stay and watch until the very end.
Garou was observing the higher bracket wrestlers and nodded his head approvingly. "Your brother is going to have no issue in victory here…" he said with a proud grin.
"Of course he won't. I've been training him too!" protested Draven.
"Wait, you've been training with him?" asked Pac.
"Yeah, dad's been busy with mom. Tempest wanted someone to spar against and Shadow Ring is still recovering from the monster attack. So I took the time to train with him. Knocked him on his ass a few times, he came back for more…"
"Wait, you knocked him on his ass?" Garou demanded.
"Well yeah, I don't really know how to sumo, so I improvised. If anything, he said it helped him prepare for about anything…"
Suddenly, the crowd was getting restless. Someone started to chant. "Blue Dragon, Blue Dragon!" and the rest of the audience followed.
"I see he's the Amai Mask of this place…" Garou muttered, yet then paused as he saw the glare his sons gave him. "You never heard me say that!"
Pac snickered.
Tempest came out to a roaring applause. Yet the people stopped and stared wide eyed, realizing Tempest had grown bigger and stronger than before.
It was a pointless seven matches for him. Seven sumos went up, and knocked down with great ease!
"Why the hell are they even doing this?" Garou muttered. "They know he's good!"
"It's so he has earned his spot when they give him a rank." Said Pac.
When the matches finished, there was another chant. "YOKOZUNA TEMPEST!" was shouted throughout the arena. He bared no emotion to the chant, he can't after all for it would be a sign of disrespect to his opponent when standing in the ring. Instead, Tempest left in a dignified manner as he always did. Garou managed to sneak to the back to check in on him, when he saw the smile on Tempest's face.
"To think the crowd believe I am worth of such a title…" he laughed.
The chairman was there along side him, but he wasn't smiling. "I tend to think they are right… no one here has offered you any sort of competition. Too bad you weren't a little taller to be in the Super Sumo league!"
Tempest snickered. "I doubt I would be much competition in that…"
"You haven't tried yet!"
Garou kept himself hidden as Raiden came to the back. That guy has been obsessed with Tempest since he came to the league. "I am willing to step out of retirement for one more match… What do you say kid?"
Tempest froze. "Wait, you want… to face me? But, I am no super sumo!" he protested.
However, Raiden was grinning at the sight. "No, but I think I can give you a good bout. What do you say? Last one round with me, and you will be worth of being called Yokozuna here. Would that seem fair to you chairman?"
The chairman froze to the challenge. "This is a grand undertaking, we are no a super sumo league to say the least. However I do agree to the notion, if he lasts one round… which would be twenty minutes against you… I think he would be worthy of being called Yokozuna here… Tempest, the choice is yours."
There was a moment of pause on his face. "How long would it be before we have our match? I need to train a great deal before this happens. I am nowhere near ready to face you."
Raiden nodded. "I need to brush up on my skills as well… hmm, I would say six months is doable, would you agree?"
Tempest paused and thought it over. But he nodded. "Yes, six months." He said.
"Wonderful. We will have to call a press conference. We will do so in three days. Both of you need to attend. Understood?"
They nodded in agreement. Raiden on the other hand was licking his lips, as if he just found fresh meat.
Garou on the other hand had a grin of his own. "You have no idea what you just sighed up for Raiden…"
