I Didn't Have A Choice-Ch 31
Penelope put her hand on her stomach and said, "easy little one", Fran looked at her and said, "you okay honey"?, Penelope said, "yeah, the baby is kicking hard that's all". JJ and Emily looked at each other and then at Fran as Fran said, "honey is that where the pain is"?, Penelope said, "well it's radiating around to my lower back"
JJ said, "how many times has this happened while we've been having your party"?, Penelope said, "a few, why"?, Emily said, "how far apart were the kicks"?, Penelope said, "about every 10 to 15 minutes". Fran smiled and said, "alright I'll go let Derek know", Penelope said, "what am I missing, what's going on"?. JJ said, "you're in labor Garcie".
Penelope said, "wh, wait, what"?, Emily said, "let's get you up and get you downstairs", Penelope nodded her head yes and just as soon as she stood up she said, "ohhhhhhh noooooo". Jessica said, "oh sweetie your water broke". Derek ran into the room and said, "baby girl are you alright"?, she looked up at him and said, "my water just broke".
Sarah said, "where's your suitcase for the hospital"?, Penelope said, "in the closet", Sarah opened the closet door and said, "got it, I'll take it downstairs and put it beside the door". Fran said, "alright Penelope let's get you changed and then get you to the hospital", she nodded her head and said, "alright, oh can somebody call" and JJ said, "on it" as she started dialing Tabby's number to let her know that they would soon be on the way with Penelope.
A few minutes later Derek and Reid were helping Penelope to the SUV, once inside Reid said, "we'll be right behind you", Penelope said, "thank you so much boy wonder". Reid kissed her cheek and said, "you're very welcome, now let's get you to the hospital so you can meet your son or daughter".
Penelope nodded her head and winced in pain as another pain hit her, Fran climbed into the backseat with her and said, "alright Derek let's go", Derek said, "on it momma, on it" as he put the car in reverse and backed out of the driveway. Everybody hopped into their cars and followed Derek to the hospital.
By the time they got there Tabby and several nurses were ready and waiting on her, she went straight from the SUV to the deliver room with Derek holding her hand. Fran led the others to the waiting room where they would be sitting, pacing and waiting for news of Penelope and the baby.
In the delivery room Penelope squeezed Dereks hand and said, "are you ready for this daddy, are you ready to meet the baby"?, Derek kissed her lips and said, "I've been ready, how about you momma"?, she smiled up at him and said, "I can hardly wait to hold him or her".
Tabby said, "alright Penelope, you are fully dilated and I can see the top of the babies head so on your next contraction I need you to push, okay"?, Penelope nodded her head and said, "okay". Penelope pushed through contraction after contraction and finally Tabby said, "alright Penelope on the next contraction we're going to deliver the baby".
Penelope looked at Derek and he said, "I love you", she said, "I love you tooooooooo" as the final contraction hit, she pushed and pushed and pushed until the cries of her baby filled the room.
