REWRITE: STAR WARS - EPISODE VII - THE DARK RESURGENCE

The present fanfic is a rewrite of the first film in the sequel trilogy. This is essentially the result of a writing exercise to rethink and fix a story that has several inconsistencies and is lacking in character development. Some characters and locations are preserved, others are abandoned. Key scenes in the film tend to be preserved as well.

31. Chapter 30

General Hux stands proudly in the bridge of his flagship - the Finalizer. He looks through the windows at the red planet.

"Tractor beam has locked in on Han Solo's escape pod, sir," says an officer. "Our radars are also picking up the signature of what seems to be the Millennium Falcon.

Hux looks at the officer, incredulous.

"Well, what are you waiting for?!" he shouts. "Redirect power to the weapon systems and sic all fighters on the Falcon! OBLITERATE THAT SHIP!"
