Kagome struggled to her feet.

The sounds of bones being crushed reverberated in her ears.

No, she couldn't just let this happen.

She had to fight!

Her eyes narrowed at the thing Shigaraki had called Nomu. Its lips pulled back into a snarl as it slapped a heavy palm down on Aizawa's arm. Her body flinched instinctively at the awkward angle it'd snapped to.

"Eraser!" Kagome tried calling out to him.

She didn't have the strength to move. Her body was heavy and her limbs kept trembling.

Why?

Why did this always happen?

"Stay back!" Her teacher growled between pained breaths. "Focus on evacuating the other students. Get away from here!"

Even speaking was a difficult task for him at this point.

She knew that he was just trying to protect her—to keep her from going to far and putting herself at risk.

Clearly these villains had realized who she was related to. They may not have come in with the goal of kidnapping her but now that the opportunity had presented itself, it'd be an even greater fight just staying out of their reach.

"Clever girl," Shigaraki began to speak.

Kagome twisted in his direction. The shards that covered his body shattered and burst apart. A feeling of dread coiled in her stomach.

No, he'd destroyed her shards somehow!

She didn't have the strength to launch a full on offensive attack like she had before.

They were completely on their own.

Kagome could only watch in horror as long, dextrous fingers stretched towards her.

She couldn't move.

In that moment she remembered the image of Dabi hovering over her. The feeling of his arms wrapped around her and the warmth of his body pressed against her own.

She wanted to go back.

She wanted to see him.

Kagome sank onto her haunches. She leapt backward and dove just out of the man's reach.

If she couldn't fight then at the very least she'd avoid being captured. That was all she could do at this point.

"Smash!"

All eyes swiveled towards a blur of green rushing towards them.

Was that... Midoriya?

Her mouth dropped open in shock.

When had he even arrived?

Kagome crouched into a defensive position. It didn't matter. She had to protect them!

She charged forward.

Screw the damn fevers.

Right now, she had more to protect than just herself.

Azure eyes hardened.

"Let's go!"
