"No," I said, shaking my head. "No, no. We can't let him do this!"
"Anna, it's Eric's decision. This is what he wants to do," Godric said, taking my hand in his. Pam just let out a quiet sob.
I yanked my hand free of Godric's, moving to Ken. I unchained him, and he bit down on his wrist and started to feed Barbie his blood. Godric moved to my side, gently grasping my wrist, trying to pull me to him. "Anna."
"No. She can go out there. She can bring him back in," I said.
"Russell needs to die."
"I don't give a fuck about Edgington!" I yelled, turning to glare at Godric. "We are not letting Blondie die."
I heard the distinct sound of a slap, and turned to see Barbie glaring at Ken. "You fucking betrayed me... again," she glowered at Ken.
"I only pretended to betray you so that I could save your life. Again," Ken sassed back. "And it worked. Russell is gone."
"No one gives a shit about the two of you," I sneered out at the pair. "Now you," I said, facing Barbie. "Blondie's outside, you need to bring him back in."
"Why?" Barbie questioned.
"He bound himself by silver to the king," Ken explained.
"I'm not going out there to save him," Barbie said.
"I say we let him burn," Ken said with a shrug.
"Get the fuck out there, or I will rip your fucking throat out," I snarled at Barbie. Ken took a step towards me, and Godric shoved him, sending him flying back.
"Fine. Rip my throat out. Then who'll save him?" Barbie asked with a smirk.
I growled, moving towards her, fully planning on ripping her god damn neck to shreds, when I paused and looked to the door. The sun wouldn't kill me right away. I could go out there and drag him back in. I dove to the door, throwing it open and stepping outside before Godric could stop me, though I did hear him shout my name.
Everything was bright, so bright. It had been years since I'd seen the world during the day. I stepped into the sun, heading towards Blondie, and my skin turned red. I reached Blondie, who was laying on the ground beside KD.
"Go back inside," Blondie rasped out. His skin has smoke coming off it, his flesh burning.
"Fuck off," I hissed at him, ignoring the pain my own skin felt. I knelt down, yanking at the chain connecting Blondie to KD, but with the sun draining me, I was too weak to break it.
"Anna, go."
"Shut up." I gave the chain another tug, but it still didn't budge. With a whimper, I stood, grasping onto the chain and pulled, dragging both vampires back with me.
I fell to the ground with a groan once I got them inside, and one of my vamps closed the door behind me. Godric crouched next to me. "Stupid girl," he muttered out.
"M'fine," I mumbled, managing to drag myself to a seated position.
Pam was next to Blondie, who looked about a million times worse than I felt. "He needs blood. Human blood," Pam said. "He's too weak to drop fang."
"Feed him," I demanded, glaring at Barbie.
"Heck no!" she exclaimed.
I jumped to my feet, diving at Barbie, grabbing onto her. Ken went to knock me off, but Godric stepped in and held him back. I let my fangs drop and teeth sharpen, ripping into Barbie's wrist as I dragged her over to Blondie. She let out a scream, which I ignored. I shoved her wrist to Blondie's mouth, holding it in place.
Pam managed to find the key to the handcuffs, freeing Blondie from the silver. Blondie's hand reached up, grabbing onto Barbie's arm as he fed, small moans escaping him.
"That's enough!" Ken yelled.
I turned to sneer at Ken, but felt Barbie's arm being pushed away. I turned to see Blondie sitting up, as Barbie stumbled away. Blondie's gaze locked with mine as I crouched next to him, and I found myself flinging my arms around him.
The thought of him dying, of just being gone… it tore me apart. I couldn't fucking deal if I lost him. He meant so goddamn much to me, the smug bastard. The phrase 'catching feelings' flicked through my brain briefly, but I pushed it aside. Because I was not going there.
Blondie's arms wrapped around me, and I buried my face into the crook of his neck. I felt his hand go to the back of my head, fingers threading through my hair. "You should not have come for me," he murmured out.
I shoved myself away from him, shooting him a dirty look as I stood. The bastard wanted me to have just left him out there? Left him to die? Ungrateful dick. I stalked over to the bar, grabbing myself a blood bag out of the fridge before stomping my way into Blondie's office, slamming the door behind myself. I let out a sigh as I sat in Blondie's chair, ripping the bag open with my teeth.
The door clicked open, and Godric stepped in. I kicked my feet up on the desk, sucking blood out of the bag as I raised my brow at Godric.
"Are you okay?" Godric asked. I just shrugged, still pissed at him for letting Blondie go ahead with his stupid plan. He let out a sigh, "Anna…"
"I just want to be alone, Godric," I muttered out between mouthfuls of blood. Godric nodded and left me to my brooding.
After finishing my bag, and sitting in silence for a while, I let out a sigh and headed back out into the bar. I found Blondie chaining KD's burnt body to one of the stripper poles, everyone else watching on with annoyed and angry expressions.
"You're a fool not to kill him," Ken was saying.
I rolled my eyes. "Oh, you're just winning all the awards for stupid, aren't you?"
"Killing him won't solve anything," Blondie said, ignoring me.
"It'd make me happy," I said, because KD really fucking annoyed me. I was ignored.
"It would keep him from killing us," Barbie added.
"Oh, he won't be doing any more killing," Blondie said.
"Eric, who the fuck are you right now? He killed your family. Rip off his fucking head!" Pam exclaimed.
"Do not listen to them. I shall reward you handsomely," KD said. Joke's on him, Blondie was already ignoring me.
Blondie punched KD in the gut, and KD started hacking, coughing up a fang. "Well, that's humiliating. I'll take that," Blondie said, grabbing the fang from KD's hand. "Sookie, come and hold these chains together. As tight as you can."
With an annoyed huff, Barbie approached, holding the chains in place. KD dropped his remaining fang, leaning towards Barbie. "Don't even think about it, bitch," Barbie sneered at him.
"Are you kidding me? It's all I'll think about ever again," KD replied.
"We should go to ground. You stay here and watch him," Blondie ordered.
"I'm not babysitting this psycho while you guys take a nap," Barbie snapped.
"He can't glamour you. Ginger's coming in later and he would glamour her in a heartbeat," Blondie explained. "Pam, make one of the guest coffins available for Mr. Compton."
"I'm staying out here with Sookie," Ken insisted.
"Suit yourself," Blondie said with a shrug as Pam walked off into the back, presumably to get a coffin ready.
"Bill, you have the bleeds," Barbie said.
"I'm not leaving you alone with him," Ken replied.
"Well, I really don't want to look at your face right now, or any of your faces, for that matter. Go crawl back into your holes, you creepy, cold freaks."
"It's Eric Northman," Blondie said, and I looked over to see he had his cell to his ear.
"Please, be careful," Ken pleaded with Barbie.
"I'm gonna need your van and your help tonight," Blondie hung up the phone and pointed to Barbie. "Do not stake him."
The vampires started heading into the back, but my three paused to look back at me. "Anna?" Godric called out.
I shook my head. "I'll go to bed later," I said.
Blondie stepped forward to argue, but Godric stopped him with a hand on his arm. The vampires disappeared in back.
"You stay away from me," Barbie said, hands on her hips.
I shrugged, "Fine by me." I grabbed another bag from the fridge, plopping myself down onto one of the lounge chairs, ripping the bag open and starting to drain it.
Barbie let out a huff, walking over to wear Pam had dropped the silver mace and picked it up. She gave me a look that clearly said you try anything and I'll silver you before going to Blondie's throne and taking a seat.
"Miss Stackhouse," KD started, "I'd like to propose a deal." I rolled my eyes, settling into my seat more, ready to enjoy the show.
"Oh, this ought to be good," Barbie said, uncrossing her legs and leaning forward.
"I will give you my word that I will not harm you or anyone you love," KD promised. Cause that's reassuring.
"Stepping around the fact that your word's worth about as much as tits on a turtle, what else?" Barbie asked.
"One million dollars."
"Five."
"Two."
"Seven."
"Okay, five," KD agreed. Damn. Why does that never work for me?
"What else?" Barbie demanded.
"I will kill Eric Northman. And Bill Compton. Both. Or neither. Or just one of your choosing."
"Both. And your house in Mississippi. I like that house."
"Done."
"What do I have to do in return?" Barbie asked.
KD let out a laugh, before yelling, "Release me!"
"No," Barbie shot him down, leaning back and picking a magazine up.
"It may not be me, but someday some vampire is going to rip you open to get at the essence inside of you. There is no way around that," KD growled out.
"Shut up."
"You don't know what it is to drink your blood. It is paradise," KD started, and Barbie put the magazine down and grasped the silver mace, starting to make her way towards him. "Arcadia. Nirvana. Who even knows what your blood is capable of? I am surprised that your Mr. Compton has shown such restraint. He is either a true gentleman or very, very smart."
"Smart, why?" Barbie asked, now standing in front of KD.
"By showing such a degree of control, he's able to make the experience last that much longer. That's basic tantra. But others? They won't be able to stop themselves. They'll drain you dry, which is a shame, really. But the rose only blooms for a short while, I suppose."
Barbie sprayed KD's face with the mace, causing him to cry out in pain. "That's enough out of you."
"You better hope to God I die, because I would rip you open and feed your entrails to y-" KD stopped as he watched Barbie grab the weird glass goo-filled urn.
"Why are you carrying this around?" Barbie asked. I sat up slightly, because I was curious as to what the fuck that was about.
"He was the love of my life," KD said. I crinkled my nose up, because ew. He was actually carrying his dead lover's vampire goo around in an urn.
"This isn't him," Barbie scoffed.
"It will be!"
"You think you can bring him back to life?"
"Of course not…"
"Yes, you do. Somehow, involving my blood… Fuck you," Barbie sneered out, taking the urn over behind the bar.
"No!" KD yelled out, before snarling in another language. Barbie took the urn, dumping the goo down the garbage disposal, giggling manically.
I shook my head as I pulled my phone out, leaning back into my seat. Fucking crazy bitches.
#
"Hear that?" KD asked as I lounged on the sofa, watching as Ginger scrubbed the glass urn clean. She had shown up about an hour ago, screamed her head off at the sight of KD, then went about business as usual. Barbie was seated at the bar, chatting with Ginger. "That's my wolves coming to rescue me."
"Are you sure you're not hungry?" Ginger asked Barbie. "I could make you a peanut butter and butter sandwich… No?" Why the fuck did Barbie get offered something so normal, while I always got gross as fuck food?
The bar door banged open, and Ginger let out one of her ear-piercing screams. A tall, lumberjack-esque man strode in.
"Could you please not do that?" KD requested, and I looked over to see his skin sizzling from where the door had let sun in.
"Or you could just do it again," I muttered under my breath.
Barbie stood and met the man. "How did you know to come for me?" She asked.
"Here because Eric called me. Said he needed my help with something," Paul Bunyan said, shoving his hands in his pockets, "Promised to settle all my dad's debts."
"Oh."
"Why? You in trouble again?" He asked with a slight grin.
"When am I not in trouble," Barbie teased back.
I rolled my eyes. "Yo, I'm Anna, that's Ginger, and that's King Dickface," I introduced, 'cause clearly Barbie wasn't gonna do it.
"Alcide," Paul B grunted out.
I nodded, even though I'd already forgotten what he said.
"Why don't you take a seat. I'll grab you a beer," Barbie said, practically skipping her way behind the bar.
Paul B went and sat in one of the bar stools, and Barbie grabbed the stool next to him after grabbing two beers.
"Is Janice okay?" Barbie asked, and I tuned them out.
I brought my phone out, scrolling through instagram, liking cute puppy pictures. I was bored out of my mind, fucking exhausted, with blood running down my face. My skin felt like I had the world's worst case of sunburn, and my wounds from the last fucking month were still healing.
"Yet every full moon, he turns into a wolf and kills and eats his prey," I heard KD say, and I looked up from my phone.
"Rabbits and squirrels, not people!" Paul B yelled out.
"Details," KD scoffed.
"Oh my god," I groaned out, "if you open your mouth one more time, I swear to god I'm ripping off your balls."
Before anyone had a chance to reply, the doors leading to the back opened, and the vamps all filled in, with Blondie in the lead. Godric sped over to my side, placing a hand on my arm, eyes searching mine. I flung my arms around him, and he took a seat next to me so I could snuggle into him. I completely lacked the ability to stay angry at him for over seven hours. I'd tried before, and failed miserably. I just loved him too damn much.
"Good, you're here," Blondie said. "Your truck out front?"
"Yup," Paul B replied.
KD let out a scream, and I looked over to see Blondie unchaining KD from the stripper pole. "Let's go. Got a lot to do," Ken snapped out. "Sookie, stay here. Pam'll protect you."
"Feel safer protecting myself, since I now know I'm basically vampire crack," Barbie snipped, and started to storm out, pausing to turn around. "By the way, I rescind the invitation to my house for all vampires present. So don't even think about following me home." She finished storming out, the door slamming shut behind her.
"Get up," Blondie demanded, KD sprawled out on the floor.
"I do not take orders from anybody," KD spat out.
"Suit yourself," Blondie muttered, and proceed to drag KD on the ground by the silver chain around his neck. "If you two have finished eye-fucking each other," Blondie said to Ken and Paul B, who were just gazing into each other's eyes, "can we go?"
"Eric, do not bring that thing back inside this bar," Pam demanded, hand on her hip. Blondie, Ken, and Paul B walked out, KD trailing on the ground behind them.
I looked between Pam and Godric, "What the fuck happened these last few days?"
"Hell if I know," Pam replied.
"I'll grab you a blood, Anna. You look like you could use another," Godric offered.
"We're out, I grabbed the last one yesterday," I said.
"I'll go out and get more."
"Godric, it's fine. I'll be okay."
He cupped my cheek with his hand. "I'll just be gone a moment." And he was gone.
I let out a sigh. "Well Pam, it's you and me. Uno?"
She just rolled her eyes at me, and I grinned.
#
Pam and I were in Blondie's office, Pam seated at his desk going over paperwork while I lounged on the couch, half asleep.
Pam's head snapped up. "Stay here," she said, out of the office in a flash.
"Wha…" I stood and left the office, because rude, and found her with a wooden stake in her side, a pile of dead vamp goo at her feet, and blood covering her mouth. "What the fuck?" I whined out, gesturing to her, and the vamp goo.
"That's Rubin. Our assassin," Pam said. "Well, was our assassin."
"You have a fucking assassin?" I asked.
"Had," Pam clarified once more, yanking the stake out of her side.
I just went back into the office.
#
Not even ten minutes later, Pam walked back in. "Eric's in trouble, I need to go get him. Stay here and wait for Godric," she ordered, and then was gone.
"What. The. Fuck." I said to the empty room. I let out a sigh, pulling out my phone and shooting Godric a text asking him to go to Pam and Blondie and make sure they were okay. "Fuck," I groaned out, heading out into the bar and grabbing a bottle of whiskey. I noticed the vampire goo pile was gone.
Roughly half an hour later, a half hour of fighting against the damn anxiety building up in me, Pam and Godric strolled into the bar, with cement on their clothes and hands.
"What happened? Where's Blondie?" I asked, taking a sip of whiskey.
"Bill tried to bury Eric in concrete next to Russell. He's gone to take care of Bill," Godric explained.
"Oh." Really didn't know what to say to that.
"Here," Godric said, handing me a blood bag before putting a new stash in the fridge.
"Thanks," I said, ripping the bag open and drinking. Pam headed in back, and Godric stood beside me, pulling me into his chest. "What a fucking night," I mumbled out.
#
Blondie showed up later, covered head to toe in concrete. He took the bottle of whiskey from me, putting it away. I pouted. "Dick," I muttered.
Pam walked out, wearing a pink bathrobe with freshly washed hair.
"Did you kill him? Please tell me you killed him, because I will never get all the cement out of my hair," Pam grouched.
"I gave him a much worse punishment," Blondie replied.
"Rubin tried to kill me, by the way. I took him out."
"Oh, great. On top of everything, I'm out an assassin"
"I have zero patience with that shit," Pam sassed, and Blondie rolled his eyes.
"Come, let us go home," Godric said, taking my hand in his. I almost let out a moan of happiness. I couldn't wait to sleep in a bed again. Actually sleep for the whole day. "Eric, Pam?"
"Right behind you," Blondie replied.
Godric nodded, tugging me into his arms, and took off. Once outside, we were flying, and I squeezed my eyes shut because fucking nope. We arrived at Blondie's house in less than a minute.
Godric walked me up to my room before disappearing to change clothes. I slipped out of my clothes, pulling on a pair of panties and an over-sized t-shirt. Godric stepped into the room once I was dressed, and we crawled into bed. I snuggled against him, eyelids already drooping. I quickly drifted off to sleep.
#
I gasped awake, heart thudding in my chest. Just a dream, I reminded myself. I could still hear the sizzling, smell his burning flesh. Just a dream. I knew he was okay, I knew it was a dream… but I still found myself wiggling out of Godric's arms, climbing out of bed. I just had to see him. Then my heart would stop trying to pound out of my chest, and I could go back to sleep.
I walked over to Blondie's room, cracking the door open and stepping inside. It was almost pitch black inside, the only light coming from the door I'd just partially opened. I stepped inside, closing the door behind me and cutting off my light source. I stumbled over to the bed, barely able to make out Blondie's sleeping form on the bed. I reached a hand out, trailed my fingers over his arm, and let out a sigh of relief. He was okay.
His hand suddenly snapped up, grasping onto my arm and yanking me down onto the bed. I let out a oof, and he pulled me into his arms, keeping me tight against him. "Blondie?" I whispered.
"Go to sleep," his voice was low and gruff.
I sighed, curling my body into him. "I'm really fucking glad you're not dead," I hushed out.
"Anna, go to sleep," he groaned.
I huffed. "Why, thank you so much for saving me, Anna. I really appreciate it. I'd be lost without you," I sassed.
He chuckled lightly, but I felt his lips brush against my forehead as he murmured, "Thank you."
I smiled, burying my face against his chest as I drifted off to sleep.
